Fresh food, great service! And when you ask for hot it's hot! Blister your lips hot ;) I have ate at a lot of thai places and they are deff really good! Rated them a 5 because food was great and the service was amazing :) Love this place and will stop by when ever I'm in Silverton!

This place is worth the drive to the hinterland of Silverton. It would probably not attract your attention from the street, but the food is surprisingly good. This is a family run joint...two sisters (front of house, mainly) and husbands doing the bulk of the cooking. The sisters are a hoot! They look almost like twins, but one is very verbose and the other a little more reserved...both enjoy a joke and teasing so, go ahead...but remember: they can "dish" it up also!smile There are two standouts on the menu: the shrimp cakes and the BBQ beef with coconut rice. Five shrimp cakes make one order...they are crispy, delish treats and you'll be fighting for the last one...so, think two orders! The beef dish is not what westerners would think of as BBQ...it is more a tender slow cooked flat iron stake that is very, very soft in texture...not everybody's cup of tea, so to speak. However, the succulent nature of the beef pairs well with the delish coconut rice...the serving size is good and you'll have plenty for a lunch the next day. Prices are modest, but not cheap. The Thai Dish Cuisine has your standard menu items...the stir-fried pineapple chicken is good and would go well with the coconut rice if you decided that the beef was not quite what you felt like. You will be surprised by the whole dining experience.

Kind of a let down. The food was just sorta...meh. It wasn't terrible or anything, but it was not memorable food at all. Also, they were playing this awful Christian music super loud the entire time. Maybe some people are into that, but it just makes me feel really uncomfortable while I'm eating my lunch. Also, the portions were kind of small for $8 (the lunch price) I can get more, better tasting Pad Thai at my local place in WA. But, if you're in Silverton and wanting Thai, I'd recommend the one other Thai place in town-- City Thai-- they're not AWESOME either, but they're better and less expensive than this place.

This is the best Thai food I've eaten anywhere, and I've eaten at all the Thai places in Salem several times each. Today was my first time here, but I was brought there by my partner who's a regular. The nice woman serving basically told us what to order and she didn't steer us wrong - steamed pork bun and home made sausage for appetizers, then for the two main entrees we had thin sliced tender steak with coconut rice, plus basil shrimp and chicken with brown rice - and for dessert, mango sticky rice. Everything was really really delicious. Even the water tastes good - I think they put mint and/or cucumber in the pitchers.

Great noodle dishes. My complaint is that most Asian restaurants use too much oil when woking their entrees. This was low in oil, perfect for me. Lots of veggies and meat even dwarf the noodles in their noodle dishes. But beware: spicy! Medium there was HOT!!! My only suggestion is to replace the old carpet ASAP.

After coming back from a hike from Silver Creek Falls, we were looking for food. . . Something good and something other than burgers. The Thai Dish caught our eye driving down Water St. We were seated immediately, plopped into the booth, had the Ice cold water, and enjoyed the music . Our food was served quickly and we could hear the stir frying from the kitchen. I had the Pad Thai and my fellow diners had the mixed vegetables. They were both delicious We ended our meal with the Mango sticky rice. It seems every restaurant has their own version of sticky rice. This I loved.

Had lunch here today! The two ladies were very nice and we connected very well. We asked one of the ladies what they recommended, and those weren't on the menu. So ask what they recommend before ordering because we ordered the shrimp and scallop dish that they recommended and it was so good! So flavorful and not too salty. We also had mixed vegetables with chicken and chicken pad Thai. They were all pretty good. Portion is decent. I recommend this place!

I asked what comes with vegetable Panang curry? Waitress said cabbage, mushrooms, broccoli. I said, ok! Then she brought the bill, charged me $2 extra for mushrooms, and tea that is usually free with lunch $2! Places that gouge you for a regular meal and up charge you are out!!! Oh!! And had to listen to ANNOYING!! Christian music the whole lunch?? Jesus is gonna save me hallelujah!! No Thanks??? Will not go again!!!

I have been here several times now. My last visit was last night and I just had to share how much I love this place. The people are so nice and caring, you simply could not ask for better service. The food is delicious! All of my picky eaters ate every bite! Wow, this is pretty amazing because we are a family of 8 and everyone seems to have a different idea of what is good food yet we all enjoyed our dinner last night! So far this is my favorite place to eat in Silverton!

Best Thai food in Silverton. Friendly family who runs it. Our favorites include the veggie tempura, the curries, and the spicy eggplant (husband's favorite).

The yellow curry here is good but lacks heat so if you like warmth consider medium the starting point. It was still good because the base was awesome but it didn't have any heat. Customer service was awesome and the waitress cracked jokes, made sure we never had to ask for anything and refilled things often. I'll be back but will request medium next time- SVJ

This place is awful. I hereby give Thai Dish its first one star review. The only redeeming quality is that it's one of the few places in Sllverton that serves food after 8pm on most nights of the week. Meaning they stop at 9pm. We ate there and it was gross. The flies and the loud Christian music I could do without. The water is gross, they 'infuse' it with lime but it was not tasty to me it actually tasted like dirty water. We split the egg rolls which were good. I had the pork noodle bowl and oh my, so so bland. It was completely watered down. I actually moved the noodles from the bowl to a plate. My friend commented that she never saw anyone do that. I tried not to laugh (we were the only people in the restaurant that night) because you don't do that, but believe it or not, when the noodles and pork weren't drowning in water there was actually a bit of taste to it. But still the dish was really lacking. I also had hot tea. My choices were jasmine or green tea. I got neither. Whatever tea they gave me wasn't either of those choices and tasted like crap, I didn't even finish it. Yuck.

Such a pleasant surprise! Great friendly service! Food was fabulous! Yellow curry with huge shrimp and Ginger stir fry with pork. Very generous portions, enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Sweet sticky rice with mango is amazing. We'll be back. . Again. . And again. . And again. :-)

I found Thai Dish while staying in Silverton for a few days. I asked what restaurants the inn manager like and this one was first up. Two minutes walking and I was there. I knew immediately that this was a placed people liked; it was really busy with both diners and take-out orders. I was offered a glass of water while I waited for a table to become available. I chatted with someone getting take-out, and I decided to get the green curry that this person recommended. Glad I did; it was quite delicious and generous portions. Even with it being so busy, I received friendly service from wait staff and refills on my hot tea. I liked the little trivia cards on the table, as well as the assortment of children's drawings and postcards. Fun and unique touches. And I went back the next night to try the pad thai - also delicious! Definitely would recommend eating here.

This is great authentic Thai food. Their steam buns are amazing! Pad Thai was wonderfully flavorful. Also had their dessert special which was tapioca with fresh coconut in warm coconut milk......,delicious and the largest tapioca over ever had!!

Nice enough decor, typical Thai menu, sociable staff. The tofu Tom kah soup was on the bland side, the tofu was not grilled first so I thought the texture was pretty nasty. The vegetarian egg rolls were the highlight of the meal. I had the Thai kung pao chicken and on a scale of mild, medium, hot or extra hot I went with hot.... Oh my, it was so hot I couldn't eat it. I rarely can get food that is hot enough, bit this was totally inedible. I wonder if the fact that the owner was on vacation and his sister was doing the cooking may have contributed to this. When I checked out, I was told that a couple of other people had mentioned that their food was to hot for them. I wish I had that insight when I ordered instead of after it was too late.

Very, very good pad Thai. I had been told by many people that pad Thai in general is wonderful, and I have sampled it at three other places. I did not understand the appeal until I tried pad Thai at Thai Dish. It is smoky and meaty (even with no meat in it) and fills the mouth with a satisfying texture that few foods can match. I have no idea what pad Thai might be like in Thailand, but I imagine it must be something like this. Pad Thai like this is not just fried noodles with eggs in it - it is a simple culinary miracle. I have to agree that the bathrooms are dingy and the hall sketchy, but I would eat food off the ground in a garbage filled alley if it tasted like this. The servings are generally more food than most people can eat, and if you want it spicy, they will make it spicy enough to peel the skin off of your face. Writing about it is making me want to go back there.

There is nothing bad to say about this little family ran resteraunt. The service is very friendly, you feel like a friend when you walk through the door. And the FOOD, omg, the food is GREAT. I love to eat at the resteraunt, but the take-out option is a deff. plus. oh, and next time you are there, try one of their little appatizer balls they keep on the front counter. They are a little pricey for 5 bucks but well worth it.

Whenever my husband & I find ourselves around the Silverton area we've always made a point to stop here for lunch or dinner. After our dinner tonight though we won't be returning any time in the foreseeable future. On previous visits I was able to look past the lack of cleanliness & crappy decor because the food was delicious but they must have changed chef's, owners or just gave up cause the food was crap. The salad rolls were over coated in rice paper or noodles (whatever they use), the shrimp pad thai was rotten & the yellow curry tried to stand out from the traditional with the addition of bell peppers but failed miserably in taste. The beer, Thai ice tea & white rice were good but you can't really screw those up obviously. The service was also crap. Our drinks & waters were gone halfway through our meal with no sight of the waitress until we were ready for the bill. I felt that I needed to wrote this review because of our disappointment in the food but more so because we both physically feel sick after our meal tonight.

My sister and I went here a couple weeks ago. She ordered phad thai and I had green curry. We also had a steamed-bun with chicken which was the best part of the meal. Those steam buns are amazing, you seriously have to try one if you go. The phad thai was great, nice strong flavor and well-seasoned. The green curry had good flavor, but the eggplant and fig were a little under cooked and chewy, impossible to cut with a fork. The service was great, friendly and unobtrusive.

This is one of two Thai restaurants in Silverton. They have great tofu in curry, as well as other Thai dishes. The waitresses and waiters are very attentive and make sure your hot tea is always full. The owners of the place also operate it and wait tables - that sort of thing. We've often ordered take out from here, but one night we dined in and the owners young daughter was dancing around and singing to herself, because I couldn't understand her I thought I was in that dream sequence from Twin Peaks with a midget in a red tuxedo that talks backwards. But, it really didn't distract me from enjoying myself.

Been back two times since original review and the food is getting blander--both in heat and non-American spice. Folks are still nice. Maybe they need a Thai-style option when ordering?

I've compared every Pad Thai I've ever had to this place. It's simply the best I've ever eaten. My parents brought me here years ago when I came up from Sacramento, CA to visit them in Silverton. I remember the service and food both being amazing. I can't wait to come back up because I'm definitely stopping in here for dinner again!

Most thai restaurants you go to aren't traditional thai. But somehow little podunk Silverton is home to 2 right now. Thai Dish comes in second, but the other I would choose over any Thai restaurant I have ever been to. Everyone working there is family, and I too have seen their youngest daughter dancing around the lobby. Their steamed bun is to die for and when I'm hungry for a snack and short on ends I love to call in and get a couple to go. I'm a big fan of the little trivia sheets on the table. My history with certain smokable mind altering substances has left my memory kind of shoddy so everytime I go there I have fun trying to answer all the questions while I wait for my food. The Thai iced tea is delicious and I just love the fact that I can order a pint of their excellent peanut sauce to go for under $5. I've got their number in my blackberry and a worn and creased to-go menu in a drawer in the kitchen.
