Great for what it is! Service was great! Everytime you run out of water, the owner/waiter will come fill your glass. The food as well, for what it is and the location, it is as close to authentic as you can get. I def. will be back here. We ordered the salt and pepper squid and the general tso chicken with a side of egg flower soup, everything was very tasty.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. Lots of vegetarian options and the food was pretty tasty. We shared an order of Kung Pao Tofu, Vegetables Deluxe and Vegetable Fried Rice. Service was a bit slow but there was a ginormous party there that could have been partially to blame. Located inside the Carousel Mall, with lots of carnival music playing in the background. Definitely a bit of a throwback. The food exceeded expectations based on the location.

The signs say under new management. The chicken and green beans were very good. The other dishes we had at dinner came with and egg roll and two potstickers. Maybe o am forgetting what Chinese tastes like, but the food was incredibly salty. Service was polite and attentive - just not very quick. The public parking area, just behind the mall is super convenient.

You have precious few options for Chinese in Seaside. You're pretty much down to about 3 options. *Had to remove one star for not offering delivery. You have to pick it up at the mall. *The food came in these sturdy plastic dishwasher-safe containers, not the kind you just throw away but keep for work lunches. *Definitely cheaper than Chinese food in towns near Seattle. *Surprisingly large menu. *The broccoli beef was so good, I went back & got more the next day. Also tastes good cold from the fridge. Probably the first Chinese restaurant to give me tender beef that wasn't overcooked. *Not nearly as salty as other restaurants I've tried. (You can always add soy sauce, but you can't take it back once it's on). *One of the less crowded restaurants, right at the Carousel Mall in the tourist area, a very short walk from the beach. *Generous portions of meat. *Good food portions. The 3 of us each ordered 1 thing & split a rice & an entree & got 2 meals out of it each.

Five stars? Admittedly, this is not a high-end urban gourmet Asian place. But for a small-town all-your-Chinese-favorites family place, it's excellent, so I'm giving it top marks in its genre. We liked it so much that we came back the next night. The half-dozen dishes we tried were all good, and quite varied. The Salty Pepper Tofu was a stand-out. Wish we could have tried the shrimp or squid version, too. Only minor complaint is that the first night, take-out was fast: ready in 15 minutes as quoted. The second night took a lot longer (no time-frame was promised, IIRC) but they were busier and just serving a huge table of 12 or so as I walked in, so the extra wait was only slightly longer than I expected.

There are not a lot of decent Asian places along the coast. If you are on the coast it tends to be fish and chips or clam chowder. Here in Seaside is a Chinese restaurant that serves good Chinese food in large portions and with the spicy dishes, they will dial the spiciness to where you like it. Service is prompt and polite. It is located in the back of a mall, but worth looking for as it is a good alternative to the usual coastal cuisine. They don't provide a lot of rice, but will willingly bring more. The rice is good.

We have tried other local Chinese options over the years and this one certainly stands on it's own. I have never had Sechuan Won Ton soup before this evening and I'd recommend this to anyone who likes a little extra spice in their won ton soup. The big surprise wasn't the hot oil but the abundance and variety of veggies in the soup. We also had one of my stalwart favorites, the hot and sour soup. Once again, we were not disappointed. There was enough heat in both the soups to keep me interested and appreciate the fact that I ordered the Sechuan only medium. This is a great surprise - usually when you order what is supposed to be a spicey dish and order it medium it is served bland. This one wasn't. I didn't request any adjustments to the hot and sour and felt it was a very nice balance of heat and sour. The veggies were not to be found in the same abundance in the veggie fried rice or chow mein. While perhaps their absence is excused in the fried rice, I felt their lack in the chow mein was very much a miss. (And for $8.95 - no bargain). I also had the fried won ton so we could have a crisp connection to join the soups, noodles and fried rice - the serving was generous and the accompanying sweet and sour sauce was spot on. We ordered take out - the food was ready in the 10-15 minutes they told me it would take and was well packaged. The fam of 3 (including me) will enjoy the leftovers for lunch. $34 out the door - about average price. This place has opened inside the carousel building - these shops have an open ceiling concept which means you'll hear every note of the carousel as it is operated. The seating looked to be ok, but for me, I think the take out option is probably the most likely choice for us going forward.

We got the weeknight meal deal that comes with 2 potstickers, 1 eggroll, soup, dice & main entree. I got string bean chicken & my gf got Szechuan beef. Beef was spicy that desired even tho we said mild (some places just do it spicy). Flavors were still very good. Egg flower soup was great. Def good food ^_^

Very pleased we saw the reviews on yelp for the Chinese restaurant by the Carousel in Seaside. It is under new ownership and was very nice and clean. We had the spicy garlic beef, orange chicken, spicy chicken wings which were all very good. The best though was the Hong Kong dry fried noodles and tempura yams with sauce along with the garlic beef were the hits at our table.

Ordered a bento box with egg flower soup, the worst soup ever, teriyaki beef was bad, sweet and sour chicken was good , to much sauce, shrimp tempura was ok, tempura sauce was not ,fried rice was good. In general I will not go back.

First of all, what Chinese restaurant doesn't have barbecue pork on their menu?? There were no descriptions of the dishes on the menu, so I had no idea what I was ordering. I ended up ordering the beef in hot garlic sauce. I asked the waiter what vegetables came on the dish (I'm very picky when I comes to vegetables. He said there were none. He was wrong. When I got my order it was covered in onions, and bamboo shoots, peas, and I don't know what else. The Hot and sour soup didn't taste very good, it tasted like it had been there for a while. Same for the pork fried rice. The spring rolls are pretty small and tasteless. The crab puffs and sesame chicken wasn't bad. This was my first and last time there.

Excellent chinese food. Everything was piping hot, fresh and delicious. We have eaten here twice in the past week, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times it was consistent...excellent! The specials are a good option, you get a little of everything. You can specify your spice level and they are spot on. If you are looking for good food at reasonable prices, look no further. This is well worth the stop.

The best restaurant in Seaside if the following things are important to you: 1. Big portions, how Chinese restaurants should/used to be 2. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options 3. Fair prices ($8.95-$10.95) for just about everything

Awesome food, great price and amazing service! Do not be alarmed that it is located in a strip mall. It is some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while! Be careful though, when they say something is spicy, it is SPICY VERY SATISFIED

Great place for vegetarians. We ordered Kung Pao tofu, General Tso's tofu, vegetable spring rolls, and egg flower soup. The General Tso's was our favorite.

Despite being located in a mini-mall, the food was actually really good. We got take out so I cannot speak to the atmosphere. We ordered three meals and two appetizers for four people and had too much food. The 'sushi roll' appetizer is not really sushi but is a good substitute if you have non-adventurous members of your party. We also got the honey shrimp which was good tasting but not recognizable as shrimp. The cashew nut chicken was also very good but a bit light on the cashews. All in all I was very pleased. The food was ready when I got there, it tasted good and it more than filled us up.

We ordered two bowl of noodles for each, but we only finished one bowl, they were so huge and full, and the service was pretty good. I would recommend this restaurant.

This place rocks! Don't let the horrible pictures of the food at the entrance keep you from going in. It is kind of a strange location, being at the carousel mall, but they are by the back entrance across from the Convention Center parking lot. Excellent food. Huge portions and great price. You can choose the level of spice you like, and they will custom blend your veggies for whatever dish you choose. Every item we have chosen has it's own, individual, killer sauce and flavor. Candy ( the owner ) is a sweetheart, as well as her brother, and they both provide super quick, friendly service. This place was recommended to us by a local, and we have been back once a week for the last month. Do not pass by this restaurant in Seaside!

Really good Chinese restaurant, I read on Yelp and couldn't find it due to its bad location. Went to Pig n pancake and disappointed totally. Luckily, this restaurant show up when I took kid for carousel. Went here twice, really enjoyed.

Great Chinese restaurant! We were promptly seated and immediately waited on. The server explained certain menu items based on our preferences. When the food came out we were pleasantly surprised at the portions. You can share between 2-3 people per dish. We ordered the moo shu chicken, hot garlic beef and potstickers. All were amazing. I highly recommend!

This restaurant wouldn't put our favorite local place out of business, but for the location the food was great. The egg flower soup was very fresh and the chow mein and prawns were tasty. The staff was very polite and prompt. Would come back again the next time we're in Seaside.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
