I recently spent 3 mo in Thailand and I must confess while I have had a favorite thai place in portland for years... This place, way out in Sandy, has surpassed it. Their food takes me back to the authentic homemade foods of Thailand. They take time to make their own curries and food while other restaurants use paste. The difference is very noticeable. They have amazing customer service and as so sweet that my experience is more than just good service - it's like sitting down with good friends or having a meal at a favorite family members home. These people and their food are very much worth the drive. Try their Panang curry it's like a thai party in your mouth. Pad Thai was amazing - authentic flavor. Pad se ewe was authentic - but I didn't care for the authentic pad se ewe... In Thailand it was never sweet or wet enough- and it's the same here but I can't blame them for authenticity! Massuman curry was delightful. Best crab cheese won tons we've had anywhere... Their "seafood" curries are packed with tasty and recognizable seafood... You know what I mean. At the end of the meal they bring you the cutest and tastiest piece of cheesecake that my cheesecake hating hubby gobbled up.

Redemption is theirs! After reading some other reviews after my poor experience decided to try it again. Sexy crab wontons were amazing. Pad prik king was really good too and was made with fresh veggies.

Good food! Took a little time for us to get our food but well worth the wait. Next time your passing thru Sandy, make it one of your stops!

Stopped in on the way to Mount Hood and we were pleasantly surprised! We had some really good curries and pad Thai. The daily special curry was red curry based with chicken and shrimp and having eaten Thai plenty of times before, we were a little timid on the spice level - the medium spice ended up being pretty weak but still tasty! We were all happily stuffed and then they brought us each a little piece of coconut pie!

So, I had wanted to stop by here for a while now since I've heard good things. I ordered the appetizers combo and shrimp pad thai, medium spicy. The best part of the appetizers were the crab cream cheese wonton. .. they were so good, the egg rolls were good also. .. so the pad thai was absolutely amazing, so many flavors working together, everything is so fresh, by far the best authentic pad thai I've ever eaten. If you get out to Sandy oregon give this place a try! Ohhhh and as a bonus, they gave me a free yummy piece of delicious cheese cake for dessert

I spent 3 months in Thailand last fall and the Panang curry here was better than any Panang that I tasted there. Wow. If you like curry, this is the spot. The Masaman and Panang are both the best that I've had in Portland. I finally found a place that tops Chai Thai's previous claim to "best I've ever had". The golden crab won tons are pretty amazing too. EAT HERE!!!!

My husband and I love the crab fried rice here! It is often a dinner request from him on a to-busy-to-cook week night.

I went here for the fist time today and was blown away by their Thai peanut soup. It was so good I ask for a bowl to take home. I will definitely stop by again. The service was great and I can't wait to try other things on their menu!

Came for dinner. Got a little weird attitude when we arrived not as friendly as one would hope Ordered the pad Thai noodles with shrimp. Rice noodles a little stuck together, shrimp was fine if boring. Second ordered the cashew seafood # 42 white fish OK oysters and octopus very overdone and rubbery, nice spice though.

We had two of the specials, a mild red curry with shrimp ($11), and a medium red curry with shrimp and chicken ($13). Both were so good we couldn't stop eating, and the portions are very generous. "Mild" was more like low heat, still going to wake you up; "medium" was perfect for me, but not overpowering. Pot stickers were fried and chrunchy and delicious with the sauce. Ambiance is non-existent really, but service was excellent and we left stuffed and happy. Definitely would go here often, if only we lived here. You could easily share an appetizer and an entree and and still leave very satisfied, with a more reasonable bill.

Easily the best thai in Sandy and very possibly Portland. Excellent service, proper thai spice levels, free dessert?? Far superior compared to Sandy's other thai spot. Be sure to get a thai iced tea, som tom, and the pad thai. Explore the menu from there! WORD TO THE WISE- as a spice junky, this place is not messing around. 5/hot will melt your face off, guaranteed. Your guts will then remind you in another 5 hours of the delicious molten lava you ingested for dinner ;)

I've been here twice now and definitely will come back. The drunken chicken noodles are excellent. Crab wontons are also very good. The orange chicken was good but soggy like maybe they were old. Overall very good food. Service is good and fast as well

My wife and I were in Sandy visiting relatives and were looking for someone to cook for us after a long day of traveling around and I saw this place just driving in to town so we tried it without recommendation. We walked in on a Friday night around 5:30 and no one was there except employees and the the decor was was not there either.Right off the bat things didn't look good but we were tired and both like thai food so we ordered. The service was fine but at first we were alone when the food arrived it looked quite good at first glance,I got the cashew chicken hot flavor and my wife got some kind of curry soup.Trying it tastewise it was absolutely great, very fresh vegetables with a great, not to heavy yet very flavorful sauce, usually the worst part of a mediocre thai meal for me, and better than average chicken and brown rice.Everything was very very good and rivaled a place in Nashville called the Smiling Elephant in fact I think my meal at Try my Thai was better!I really didn't expect it when I walked in and was very pleasantly surprised.By the way after a while several more customers walked in and I would highly recommend that if you are close to Sandy Or. and like Thai food go here and maybe the decor and ambiance will improve but foodwise go here and enjoy the food and support this cook! A+++++++++

The food was very good compared to some even more expensive places we have been. Wasn't greasy and you could taste all the fresh herbs and vegetables in the dishes. We got the crispy basil chicken and fresh salad rolls. The peanut sauce was amazing. The customer service was great. We even got a mini piece of cheesecake complimentary before we left that was delicious. Will stop by every time we come through Sandy. Try it! You won't be disappointed:)

This place is awesome! My wife and I came here late on Christmas Day, suprised they were the only place in sandy that was open we stopped in in for some Pad thai which was well worth the wait! Service was kickass. We took our order home to eat, two day portion, had left overs for my lunch box the next day and it still tasted good reheated, good place we will be back

Coming home from Central Oregon we decided to stop in and have dinner. The place lacks decorative style to say the least. However, the service was pleasant. I would rate the food as mediocre. We had a variety of items, from salad rolls, soup and Pad Thai. All were pretty bland and average flavor. They did give us a sample dessert at the end of dinner which provided a nice personal touch.

Only rating one star because you can't rate lower. Restaurant service was not friendly, couldn't tell you what the Pad Thai tastes like as we waited over 40 mins before we finally had to leave. Upon leaving the yelled "this not fast food"... very professional! Will never return... as someone who loves Thai food. I'll stick with Thai Home!!

Stopped here on our way home from the mountain. Food was excellent and the spicy level of 4/5 had lots of heat, just as we like it. Complimentary cheesecake for dessert was a pleasant surprise. Friendly staff, unicorn picture in the ladies room, great place! Will definitely come back.

Always great service. Authentic cuisine, I mean the real deal. If you are brave enough you can have some incredible dishes here. Everyday favorites have a personal flair, orange chicken is hand prepared like a dumpling, not the deep fried box food. Pad Thai is awesome, try the hot pot soup! Try to save room for the mango desert with sticky rice. I agree with the decor comment but they are just getting started and I don't go there to look fancy, the food is what I need.

The interior is OK, like any countryside restaurant. The Thai Iced tea is good. Chicken Satay was better than average. Panang curry - just OK. Nothing great, nothing bad. Nothing bad to say about the restaurant. But nothing great. An average restaurant.
