My mom and decided to put our diets on hold and have cannoli's for lunch. We found street parking right off of Liberty Street and found the sign for the bakery which is in the Reed Opera House Underground. We took the stairs down and walked around peering into a variety of shops until we found it (right across a tattoo shop). It felt like Disneyland when you cross from one "land" to another. We stepped out of Downtown Salem into Little Italy. Romantically lit with terra cotta mosaic round bistro tables, it was a peaceful break from the outside world. This was my first time having a cannoli and boy was it GOOOOOOOOOOD. Now I understand why people have a dreamy look on their face when they say cannoli! It was very crunchy sweet on the outside with perfectly textured ricotta filling inside and dipped in pistachio on both ends. The combination was incredible. I forced myself to not buy another one since my mom was already talking about how many calories it contained and how much exercise had to be done to work it off. I'm pretty sure they are calorie free.

This bakery is located in the basement of the Reed Opera House. We happened upon this little shop of goodies by look on yelp for a tea house and this place came up. He only has two teas, so not a tea house but very yummy baked goodies. Go find this place and eat dessert!

Everything in the store looked perfectly crafted. We didn't try the cannoli as we were getting something to go and cannoli are better eaten fresh. The very friendly owner offered us a DIY kit to make later but we were more than satisfied with the marionberry napoleon and eclair we eventually selected. We also took a bag of chocolate dipped macaroons to go. Look forward to stopping here again next time we are in Salem.

Was browsing the shops in the Reed Opera House and happened upon this little gem. I could smell it from the staircase leading to the basement. Right as I stepped in I knew I'd be adding about 1k additional calories to my diet that day. It is a very small shop, but it does exactly what it needs to do. Clean, tidy, tasteful decorations, and oh! the aroma. Display cases are stuffed full with dozens of different delights. Some are packaged as group samplings and others ready for individual snackage. The owner was there, rolling out some sort of dough. He stopped what he was doing to help me right away. I asked a few questions about the various treats and settled on two cannolis and a lemon tart. I was very impressed with both selections. The tart was my favorite of the two though. It was just perfect. The shop is a little off the beaten path of normal walkers, and although it would seem this would be a bad thing, there seems to be no shortage of customers. Highly recommended!

I found this place quite by accident, but was charmed by it's location and the decor. I saw that they served food, but I didn't really have time to stop and eat. What I did do, however, was to buy a chocolate eclair to enjoy later. My only complaint was that the eclair was rather small for the cost...$3.50. But the cream was delicious, the ganoche was fabulous, and the pastry itself was very well done. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and will probably be back to see what else they can come up with.

Note: location has changed - used to be downstairs inside the Reed Opera House, but is now at street level with a door to the sidewalk. Yay for convenience! Oh muh gosh, the pastries here are SO GOOD. Napoleons and coconut croissants are favorites. The mocha is really delicious, and the fresh coffee is great. The cannoli is different than those I've had on the east coast - the shell is candy-like instead of a deep-fried dough shell. I actually thought the candy shell plus the filling was just too sweet. Overall, LOVE this place. The employees are so nice, and the pastries are AMAZING. Pricing: $2 and up per pastry. About $1 each for cookies. Wifi: You might be able to catch wifi from Starbucks ("attwifi"). Treat yo'self and try the pastries at Little Cannoli Bakery.

I love this place! The way it smells while walking up to this place is so delicious and amazing! I take all my friends here and this is the place I purchase baked treats for gifts!

Eclair wasn't something I would order again. The macaroon was fairly good and the owner was nice.

Every treat is beautifully prepared and so cheap! The coffee is local and just so good. Try the Napoleon or cinnamon buns!

I happened upon this place as I was going through the Reed and I was happy I found it. I did not get a cannoli, but I did get a macaroon and it was absolutely delicious! It was so moist! I would go back here in a heart beat and the place was so cute inside!

The pastries here are delicious. I don't know what half of them are so I ask a lot of questions. The man who owns the place is always working very hard in the kitchen behind the counter. But, he willingly comes and answers every question I have. He will also tell you what is freshest if you ask. Sometimes he'll even grab stuff off the cooling pans for you, yum!! He also sells a special blend of whole bean coffee. Seating is limited but its usually not that crowded. Lemon cookies are my fav. :)

Authentic Italian pastries...the eclairs are to die for and the cannolis are the best I've had! It's a tiny place, clean, great service and the most delicious deserts in Salem...and probably for miles outside of Saelm! If I could eat here every day, I most definitely would. Highly reccomended!

This was my first time trying cannolis so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was delicious! My brother was going to get one for this wife 'to go' and the owner suggested against it saying it would not be as good later, that it is best to try it fresh. He passed a sale to ensure the customer would have the best cannoli possible. I am only visiting Salem but will be sure to return whenever I am in town.

This is, hands down, my favorite bakery in town. The owner is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. I have been here several times. Once, the owner re-opened the store to sell us his amazing cobblestone pies. The smell alone is worth visiting this buried treasure.

Quite possibly the world's best macaroons can be found here. This place is a gem of delightful desserts and espresso. Get some goodies to go to share with your friends - they'll thank you for it.

The best coffee and chocolate fudge balls in the whole freaking universe. The Little Cannoli Bakery is my favorite bakery. The first time I went in here was a couple years ago, I cannot stop bragging about it for the life of me. I love the little cannoli.

Nice little bakery, very italian feel to it in downtown Salem. Got a almond marzipan croissant which was tasty. Good place for a sweet snack.

This is a nice little bakery in the reed opera house. The hours are not very good if you don't work downtown Monday thru Friday. As for the cannoli's well I didn't like them. I've never been a fan of peanut brittle and unfortunately they coat all of theirs with it. I really wish they offered them non coated but oh well. The lemon drop cookies are really good as are all the other cookies I've tried.

Poco Cannoli è meraviglioso! There is a sitting area for when you want to take a break with a pastry or it's easy to run inside for a box full of sweets to serve at your next party! Definitely a loyal customer!

You get what you pay for! This is the best bakery I have ever visited. Some prices are on the higher end, but I don't mind paying for quality and supporting this local bakery. Everything is always so fresh. I love taking my colleagues here!

The Little Cannoli Bakery, located in the Historic Reed Opera house in Downtown Salem, is everything a bakery should be. The owner Tim Goods, is a true artisan baker, who takes tremendous pride and care in all he bakes. The selection is incredible, as is the consistent quality. Besides the amazing cannoli, a wide array of cookies, pastries, and more await you. Decadent eclairs. Rich, moist brownie balls, world class macaroons, creamy Napoleons, and more than a dozen varieties of cookies (most of which are on their "dollar menu!") make for an amazing value. The service from both the guys behind the counter here is always top notch, and there is truly something for everyone, here in the heartland of the Willamette valley. Stop in soon for an espresso and dessert. They have a great selection of pre-packaged goodies to take with you for your home or office parties also. Come hungry, and leave happily full. The Little Cannoli never disappoints!.

I always make a point to stop and get some sweet treats when I visit Salem. The lemon zest cookies and Cannolis are always a favorite. Today I tried the local marionberry pie and it was amazing, so far everything purchased has been great. Only wish they were in Arizona so I could eat more often.

Ohhhhh...the cannolis are heaven!!! We love this place! All the goodies. It's difficult to choose one or two things. You want to order everything! When we want a special treat this is the place. So glad they're out of the basement and onto the street level store front! If you've never been there GO!!!

This is the best cannoli I've had, period... no qualifications needed. The shell is crisp and sweet and the filling is SPOT ON. Sometimes you get overly sweet cheesecake like filling that is just too much to handle, not here. The filling is creamy and delicious.

When I was in my mid 20's my best friend and I would call out "sick" from work and head over to the reed opera House and specifically head for the basement to little canolli bakery and order a coffee and a few pastries and the canoli was no exception. There was a magical feeling about the old location. It was small and out of the way and the way Tim would just chat about his work was wonderful to hear. We would spend many hours in the opera House, eating our treats and visiting right outside the door to the bakery. Fast forward 8 years later and the bakery has relocated to an upstairs location with a door the the outside. The pastries are good, but no where as fantastic as they used to be. Both times I've been in there and either Tim hasn't been there or he's just not chatting, he's all business. The canolis are alright, but I don't think they're made with love any more, and that's sad. I wish Tim continued success but my husband and I probably won't be back. With the magic gone for me and the sad state of affairs at the opera house in general I feel like its a part of my past that should just remain there.

To find a true and authentic cannoli is so difficult, so when I stumbled onto this little place I nearly passed out with joy. Before I ordered a cannoli I asked him how he made his filling and was quite pleased when the ingredients he listed were similar to our family recipe. The only thing he doesn't include much of is the sugar or the amaretto, which makes the cannoli filling a little less sweet and rich. The shells are perfectly crunchy with a hint of sweetness. I have been back a couple times now and each time the cannoli has been wonderful. I do prefer to have the amaretto and a little more of the sugar in my filling but it's still fabulous. The service is always fantastic and the other desserts he has are also delicious. I am SO thrilled to have a place to go to get my favorite dessert without having to make them at home.

Their goodies are awesome. I love the cobblestone pies and florentines! I only wish I had more money to spend there! They are pretty decently priced (you can get 5 slightly bigger than your hand florentines for $5) and I have never gotten poor service there!

First time trying this bakery, and it was totally worth the time trying to find a parking spot. The prices are great for the quality of flavor. There Cannoli is a must have.

I was running an errand down in Salem and stopped at this place on the whim. For being mid-afternoon on a weekday this store was fairly busy in my opinion. They have a very perfect, quaint-just the right size selection of Italian pastries. It is not overwhelming with options. That's nice, because it is already hard enough to decide as it is! I ordered 2 eclairs to go, and I wish I would have gotten the Marionberry Napoleon or as the namesake of the store a Cannoli instead. The eclairs were a-ok, but I also got a bag of biscotti. I got the chocolate dipped with the pareils on them, and they were perhaps the best biscotti I have ever had in my life very good. I agree with what another reviewer said, about this place maybe not being for day-to-day stuff, but definitely a great place for a special treat! Also, I was impressed with this Italian Bakery, this is the first place I have seen that sells pizelle's individually, I didn't order any, but it is still neat to see. Next time, I will definitely try the Cannoli and I will probably get some more biscotti as well.
