I can't rate the food because I couldn't get past the poor service. Hours of operation today are open til 3. That's not exactly true. They closed down the grill at a quarter til or earlier. They had just turned off the open sign and now it's 12 min til 3. I said we wanted food to go and they said they were no longer cooking. I explained that means they are not really open til 3. They started to argue with me...the customer. They didn't offer options they didn't explain why they closed early. The worst part is that this is the 2nd time this has happened. It happened previously about 2 months ago. All of my posts include customer service and of course food quality. They deserve a 0 regardless of the food quality. I will be calling the management staff on Monday.

This a nice little cafe to enjoy breakfast and coffee by the fire. We also went there for a drink and say at the bar and fire. It would be a nice little place to come outside in the summer. Their breakfast sandwiches are good!

Terrible service!!! 25 minutes to get a very average tasting but expensive sandwich. It's a shame because the location and atmosphere could make it a terrific lunch spot.

We visited this place for breakfast while staying on the lodge property. The service was good, but out of the three times we went there was just one person serving us so going there while in a hurry would be pointless. I ordered the breakfast burrito with just eggs, tomatoes, and guacamole. The only eggs they had were egg whites. But they weren't seasoned so made for an incredibly bland burrito. However, they had a small but really nice selection of loose teas. The two I tasted were citrus hibiscus and cinnamonious. Both were so excellent!!!! The teas and convenience are what kept us going back during our stay at the lodge.

Still a regular spot when I'm in the mood for a sandwich while at Eagle Crest, but if you want something special, make the drive to Redmond or Sisters.

This is a small cafe with a pretty limited selection of food -- breakfast pastries, scones, and sandwiches. It's a good place to grab coffee and a scone, or a sandwich and a beer, but not the kind of place that makes you want to come back. If the resort wasn't five miles from town, this place probably wouldn't get nearly as much business. It's okay, but nothing to rave about.

It was just a weird experience, and some of the worst service I've ever had. It didn't help that we were very hungry and extremely thirsty on this particular HOT Central Oregon day. It started when the guy running the place told me there was iron in the water, which was why there were strange things floating in my water. I suspected a dirty cup at the self serve water station and he didn't believe me. Clean cups didn't come out until 15 minutes later and at that time the water was empty. We waited a long time for our food and we didn't get our beer until after we got our food. When I finally got my beer, there was no lemon in my Hef, which usually wouldn't be a big deal but I was losing my patients. But the strangest thing may have been the soap dispenser in the bath room that didn't work ans was held together by duct tape. Seriously...you can't spring for a new one?!...Aren't those things like $1.78? Come on Silverleaf. The only reason the Silverleaf didn't get one star was because the food was great!

To update Jen K.'s good review... This is the ONLY place you will find a laid back atmosphere & free wi-fi at Eagle Crest Resort. It's where the Local's hang out & mix with the tourist crowd. We sometime's have had breakfast at Birdie's Cafe at the lodge and wonder why we did'nt come here? Next time...problem solved! Breakfast & lunch & sweet treats! This is a Homestyle Bakery & Deli (Gourmet) that also serves Local tap beer & wines by the glass. Local art also adorns the wall's. Cheers~

The owner just called me and apologized. He was not aware of the situation and offered to not only reimburse us but also send a gift certificate. We are very pleased and will visit the Silverleaf cafe in a few week.

Relaxing atmosphere, great food, good service. Our trips to Redmond wouldn't be complete without a stop in to Silverleaf for a delicious Panini!

I have visited Silverleaf Cafe several times. This spot gets 3 stars because the staff and owners are extremely friendly, the service is very fast, and if you're staying at Eagle Crest Resort, its very convenient. Plus, the restaurant has an attached "Market" which is like a mini-mart if you're just looking for a snack or beverage. I've had certain sandwiches multiple times -- and while its all edible and ingredients are interesting -- consistency tends to be a problem. I am not sure if the quality of goods changes from week to week, but sometimes it seems the quality of what I'm eating is good, and other times, not so good. On a recent visit, I ordered the Greek salad - romaine, tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta, pine nuts - according to the menu board. The pine nuts sold me. I wanted to take the salad to go but remembering the styrofoam container I'd received on a prior visit, I opted to dine in. Styrofoam is really bad for the environment - and I recyclable, paper to-go containers are a much better choice. Dining in was a good choice because the side patio gets a ton of sun and the ambient noise of bird calls and a bubbling pond improved my mood during an average work day. Another plus: The food arrives quickly. The portion was great for the low price of $4.95. The dressing, which was served on the side in a plastic container, was suppose to be "house vinaigrette" but instead was a raspberry vinaigrette which was so thick and sticky that I couldn't even remove the lid. Midway through my effort, I changed my mind. Resealing the lid, I returned inside to request the house vinaigrette. "That's the only vinaigrette we have" one of the workers explained from her position on the sandwich line. She quickly offered my options for other, non-vinaigrette dressings. I went with the Caesar. Back at my seat, I took a look my salad. The lettuce looked fresh, the tomatoes, olives, and feta plentiful. But salted pumpkin seeds replaced what I was hoping would be toasted pinenuts, lending the salad way too much salt and not enough balance. It's a standing pet peeve for me, when restaurants sub out certain ingredients for others without letting the customer know. I can certainly understand running out of a particular item and letting the customer know, but in this case, both the dressing and the pine nuts were substitutes for other items, and the staff didn't give me any sort of head's up. When it comes to nuts especially, I think it's important to let customers know when making a swap. Overall, Silverleaf Cafe is a very convenient option with a lot of variety for sandwiches and wraps, plus a full coffee bar. Unfortunately, it seems that consistency is lacking and Silverleaf could make some improvements to the overall experience -- choosing paper products vs. styrofoam, making sure the staff knows what products are not available that day and what items will be substituted, etc. I will definitely return and I hope to find that improvements have been make to take this review up a star or two.

Avoid the espresso drinks...if you're used to good coffee, I'd avoid.

My family and I went to Eagle Crest for a long weekend, and although we didn't plan on it, we ended up eating here 4 times (2 breakfasts and 2 lunches)! The breakfast was great - lots of options, and even some healthy options like organic oatmeal. The sandwiches we had for lunch were also very good. Granted, it wasn't the fastest service I've ever encountered, but come on - you're on vacation! People, chill out!! It's a small, local cafe, not McDonald's! The service was friendly, the food was good, prices were reasonable...5 stars.

Yum ... Lodge Pole Pine Sandwich with Kettle chips and a pickle. Such imagination between a bun, can't get any better than this! Well, yes -- it could get better. We've walked past the Silver Leaf Cafe more times that I can count over the past couple of years, and almost every time I think - we've got to try that! So, after a long bike ride through Eagle Crest we finally stopped in to see what they have to offer. There is a wide selection of awesome sounding sandwiches Like Mt. Hemlock (turkey, salami, provolone, smoked mozzarella, roasted peppers, muffalata spread, pesto, Italian dressing on foccacia roll) or Pacific Dogwood (pastrami, Swiss cheese, pepperjack cheese, bistro sauce on rye) - but we settled on Lodge Pole Pine (smoked turkey, cream cheese, Havarti cheese, pepper jelly, lettuce, tomato, red onions, mayo on French roll). And, wow! I thought -- this is going to be great! Finally a restaurant that looks like it deserves a four star rating. How could it go wrong ... there's half a dozen people working behind the counter and at least a dozen customers sitting in the dining room. Waiting. Heavy on the waiting. Content to sip our large cups of ice tea, we picked up a couple of copies of The Weekly Source, and read them from cover to cover ... very slowly. Still no food. Trying not to be impatient we did our best to carry on a conversation while soaking in the decor (pretty nice). Having sat there so long I eventually noticed that virtually ever window in that room had filthy fingerprints all over the windows - right about eye level. Yuck. Then we started to notice other diners in the room ... maybe 8 tables or so, full of waiting (heavy on the waiting) customers, and each and every one of these groups looking more and more perturbed. So, great! It's not just us! After another 10-15 minutes people started getting up and going over to the counter, no doubt trying to figure out what all those people were doing behind the counter if they weren't making sandwiches. All of those people returned to their tables without food. Then, a little while later these same folks started getting up again, returning to the counter -- making some noise about having to wait so long and why weren't all of these girls actually doing some work? Sandwiches began to trickle out to customers and more than one of those tables demanded their money back for the wait, sandwiches were too late! And, we waited some more. Then after a while we noticed one, two and then three sandwiches appear on the counter ... and what were all those girls doing? Obviously, not waiting on the customers. So, after a while we picked the number up off our table and headed over to the counter. Where's our order? Uh, we don't know. Well, what are these sandwiches doing here? We don't know where they go, we lost the tickets. Why aren't you trying to figure out which tables these belong to? Blank stare. What about this sandwich? It looks like what we ordered ... Oh! I don't know I just started making sandwiches, how am I supposed to know? Oh! Look! I think this is your sandwich .... Return to table. Sandwich looks good. Take bite. Sandwich tastes good. Awesome! And more and more people streamed into the restaurant ... while we're wondering how long these guys will have to wait for a little ol' sandwich. Kind of felt sorry for them as we passed by on our way to the parking lot ... makes a person wonder why the most obvious of good business practices seem to be so completely missed by these clowns. Tell your friends ...

This place had so much potential to begin with! Walked in and there was no staff in sight and maybe 3 customers sitting/eating. We waited for about 5-10 minutes before a women walked in talking on her phone and just stared at us for 30 seconds before she asked us if we've been helped. I told her no, she walked into the back and a young man strolled out and took our order. I got a pepperoni pizza and a sobe, my dad got a coffee and a muffin. Waited for about 15 minutes then received my cardboard with cheese and 5 pepperonis. I didn't expect much for 6 bucks but this was absolutely horrendous. I think it's safe to say I won't ever be coming back to this establishment until the issues at hand are addressed.

My boyfriend and I visited Silverleaf on our stay at Eagle Crest. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were greeted by friendly staff and were pleased with the service the moment we entered. We ordered white mochas and a couple bagel breakfast sandwiches and OMG- these things were to-die-for. The coffee was amazing too. Delicious white mochas. Better than Starbucks any day. All around, it was a perfect breakfast on our first morning here. Food and dining is extremely important to us on vacation. We have high expectations, and it bums us out when we aren't pleased with our restaurant experiences! We were totally 100% satisfied with this cute little cafe. Delicious food, wonderful staff, and a very pleasant environment. We sat outside next to the little pond. Fantastic experience!

I wanted to love this place, but the pizza was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. It tasted like really bad frozen pizza. We paid $18 for a family size and threw most of it out since it was so bad. We also had coffee here. The coffee was nothing special but also not terrible. Good place to get a drink if you don't want to drive out of eagle crest. That's why I'm leaving th whole place at a 3 star...convenience.
