Dined here recently on a Saturday evening. Since I have had Chinese food in places like New York and San Francisco, I can't say this was the best but it was very good. We were seated immediately in a very comfortable booth. Service was very fast, attentive, and efficient. The decor was very pleasing with jade-colored glass partitions and salmon-colored blinds that diffused a rosy hue to the room. We ordered a sizzling platter that came with soup, rice, and tea. It was very good, and since I tend to rate Chinese restaurants to some extent on the quality of their hot and sour soup, I found theirs to be above average, at least. The portions are large which is why my companion and I ordered one dish to split and that was plenty for the two of us. Prices are quite reasonable and we enjoyed an excellent dinner for $20, and that included a 17.5% tip. This is the first Chinese restaurant I have tried since recently moving to Redmond and plan to try several others, but I would highly recommend Cindy's. We will absolutely go here again.

Ordered delivery, it was on time, hot, and delicious! My orange chicken was delightful, little slices of orange peel or something was included. Crab puffs were excellent, fried shrimp was plentiful (rare!). Interactions with staff were very polite, from the man on the phone to the very nice delivery girl. Will order again!

Surprised about how good the Chinese food is here. Portions are big and the service is quick. Pot stickers were the best I've had. Homemade and the sauce that came with it was perfect. What I like about this restaurant is that they do not cook with MSG . Also order the beef chow fun if you like noodle dishes.

Coming from the Seattle area we were very surprised at how good the food was! The atmosphere was what you would want to see, the service was prompt, almost too prompt, the combination plates we enjoyed were spot on and plentiful, enough to take left overs home for the following nights dinner. We will go back.

From Vancouver, B.C., where with a huge Chinese populations, comes with great Chinese food. Small town U.S.A., my expectations was much lower, and I have actually never dined in a Chinese restaurant in the U.S. other than in Seattle. We came here, because at 9:09pm, nothing else was open, except for burger and pizza places. The server was very accommodating, since the restaurant was closing at 9:30pm. We quickly ordered a combo (#3) that included fried rice, bbq pork, deep fried chicken, and some vegetables. We also ordered Sichuan green beans (came with rice), and Special Stir-fried Rice Noodles. For 4 people, this was a lot of food for a reasonable price. The combo was not edible to me, but the rice noodle and green beans were delicious, but quite salty. The shrimp that came with the rice noodles were not fresh anymore. Other than that, everything was better than I could cook at home. The server made suggestions to us to suite our Chinese palates more, and I found her service excellent. And lastly, the decor at this restaurant was really nice and tastefully done. Everything was clean, and the seats were very comfortable.

The food was great. If your religion doesn't let you eat outside meat just let your waitress know and they will make your food without any meat sauce. you even get served by cindy who owns the place shes so sweet and caring. It is pricy but the portions make up for it. definitely try the shrimp and black bean sauce its yummy. Overall its clean, and nice with a great staff.

My wife and I had lunch there about four months ago as she wanted "cheap Chinese food." Yeah, she got it alright! If readers have any semblance of knowledge about what quality is in Chinese food avoid this place! Locals and tourists, go some where else! We have had authentic Chinese food many times in Chinatown in San Francisco. Cindy's is a poor imitation. Lunch entrees come with "egg roll," soup, "rice" and the main course. The egg roll is mostly greasy dough with little inside. The "soup" for lack of a better term, is largely tasteless devoid of ingredients. The fried rice tasted like something else but not rice. Our main course segment had fresh meat and veggies but C- at best. When my wife sampled the rice she remarked that it seemed like instant rice. We know the difference. It was likely something they buy in a huge box or bag, add water, cook and serve. Even thought they claim to not use MSG in anything, right after finishing our "meal" I had a very nasty headache lasting for about three hours. It was obvious to me this came from some additive in the food. I believe it came from the horrid "fried rice." I truly wonder if Panda Express near Walmart in Redmond might be a better choice! Don't waste your time or $ folks. If a wanna get"filled up" you will do fine here. Filled up on what I have no idea.......

The food isn't bad here, it's not as good as Chan's, but it'll do in a pinch. The staff is very friendly.

Their service sucks. There was no hello when we walked in just 2 people? And it took about 15 mins to order and took forever to receive my soup.

My husband and I eat here at least once a month. The service is always good / friendly. The quantities are more than you'd expect as I always take home enough leftovers for another meal. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We always go there early afternoon and there's not a big crowd then. If you're looking for ritzy elegant, this is not for you, but for a good family meal, you can't beat the food and prices.

When you find one hair in your take out you are grossed out, when you find a second hair you are probably disgusted and losing your appetite, when you find an entire clump of hair... you ordered from Cindy's! We ordered for the first time when we had company over. We were all pretty hungry and ordered $60 worth of food. My husband picked it up and brought it home. When we opened the orange chicken there was a visible hair on top we scooped some out and found a whole ball of long, black hair. It was actually cooked into the breading of the chicken (see pictures). ABSOLUTELY THE MOST DISGUSTING "FOOD" I HAVE EVER SEEN. We immediately called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager, the woman on the phone suddenly couldn't understand us when we told her the situation. We boxed everything up and took it back, the woman argued with my husband and shoved the food back across the counter at him several times saying we should keep the rest of the food because it was only the one dish that was bad... um no, thanks. She finally agreed to give our money back in cash not a refund on our card. We will never, ever attempt to eat at this establishment again.

Good quality meat, sesame chicken was all white meat. Sweet and sour sauce with crab puffs was delicious. Not all gelatin nasty! Very good affordable meal.

I'm absolutely weary of Chinese food restaurants, just to make my bias known. I ventured to Cindy's only because my coworker want Chinese food and it close to out shitty motel. (Feel free to check my review of Remond Inn if you looking for a place not to stay.) Cindy's was a pleasant surprise. The dining room was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was attentive and friend. And the food was pretty tasty and largely portioned. If I ever have a craving for Chinese food, and am in Redmond, I'd go here again.

This is the gold standard for American-style Chinese food. Who would expect fantastic food from some random Chinese place in the middle of Oregon? I sure wouldn't. Yet, nevertheless, it's got some of the best Chinese food I've ever had, and I've had my share. The service is fine, but it's really the food that makes this place. I haven't had anything I didn't like from Cindy's. In particular, I love the crab puffs and the sesame beef. Their fried rice and soft-noodle chow mein are also great, and their sweet and sour sauce is well made. I try to go here whenever I'm visiting family in the area. Their website lets you order online, which is great, and if you order a certain amount, they give you a bonus item. They've also never screwed up our order. Anyway, if you have a mind for Chinese, check them out.

On October 21st 6:28PM I placed an online order for drive thru pick up at 7:00. I got there at 7:05 and when I told them that I came for an online order I got a confused look. Then I had to talk to someone else who told me that they never got my order. I got an apology but thats's it. I drove all the way to the restaurant for no reason, I even printed out a confirmation. If you are going to order online then call them for a confirmation that they got your order. Then what is the point of online order, just call for your order.

Craving Chinese food after just relocating here from the Seattle area, perhaps my expectations were too high. "Sunday Dim Sum"! I can hardly wait. What a sad joke. I came in looking for the Dim Sum cart to be wheeling through the dining area. NOPE. A dim sum plate is offered: tasteless vegetarian chow mein and three kinds of dim sum directly out of the supermarket freezer case and microwaved. They whole plate was disgusting. The service was "who cares you're here". The restaurant is beautifully appointed and clean. That's about the only good thing I can say. I may get desperate enough to come back someday and try the regular menu, but I doubt it.

We have been wanting to try this place for a few weeks now so my wife and I took our son and his g/f on valentines day the place was busy but there were a lot of dirty tables. We asked for a table,This blonde hostess told us it would be just a couple of minutes while she cleared a table. We waited about 10 minutes then saw her go and start clearing the table she put tea and cups on the table this whole time there were people (waiting what we thought was waiting for there food) after just about 15 minutes the blonde lady told us it would be a few more minutes I was looking at the table and wondering why we had to still wait no one went back to the table then after about 5 minutes she said it was ready nothing had changed at the table I don't know why she made us wait she was very rude about the whole thing we had been there about 20 minutes by the time we were seated then we waited for about another 15 minutes for some one to take our order the blonde hostess walked by and I asked her if they had a book with pictures of some of the food in it (like every chinese restaurant has) my sons g/f hasn't had alot of chinese food she looked at me like it was the stupidest thing she had ever heard and all I got was a rude NO and a snide look. So we had been there for about 45 min at that point and we see the waiter walk over to a table where and older gentleman and a handicapped woman in a wheel chair were eating and he asked them to change tables so they could push two tables together I was appalled! there were still dirty tables. An Asian woman in street clothes came and started cleaning tables very unprofessional a family went to sit there and she shooed them away like stray dogs. After the waiter moved the older couple he went and started taking the orders of the people that we thought were waiting for there food, they had been waiting for at least 45-50 min for some one to take there order at this point I told my wife were leaving lets go to chan's in bend its always good and they have great customer service. We got there they to were busy we waited about 3 minutes to be seated and with in 5 we had water I asked for the book with the pictures I was told sure. With in 10 minutes of being there we had ordered and had a great meal. we will never go back to cindys even if they had great food the rude staff would keep us from going there

There's not much bad you can say about a restaurant that serves ample portions of decent 'real' food ... particularly during the lunch hour, for under ten bucks a plate, and fast! When you consider going out for Chinese, especially in Central Oregon, you're probably not envisioning PF Chang's -- you have a sensible expectation for what is available locally. What you do expect is lots of crispy fresh vegetables, identifiable proteins and plenty of rice or noodles. In this regard, Cindy's delivers, and they take it over the top by offering a pleasant decor keeping specific to the food they serve. I particularly enjoy the romantic oriental designs embedded on the tabletops and the privacy offered by their seating arrangements. Plus, this place is always impeccably clean. For the lunch hour Cindy's can't be beat. For under six bucks you get a veritable pile of fresh food, a cup of soup and all the tea you can drink. You also get it very fast, so if you're on a tight lunch hour, you'll make it back to the office in plenty of time. Plus, the leftovers will tide you over for dinner, if you're single. Cindy's menu is fairly standard offering a wide selection of dishes as you might expect from a Chinese restaurant; chicken, pork, beef, shrimp and tofu. They also offer a nice bowl of Chinese noodles with your choice of protein. One serving of any dish for dinner is around nine bucks and they also offer several nice combos for around $11-12. My only criticism is that, depending on the chef working at the time you order, the dishes can be loaded with sodium. More salt than a dish needs and clearly more than a body can use. I personally look forward to the day when Chinese restaurants in particular, out of concern for the health of their customers, scale back on the salt and remind people to use the soy sauce at their own discretion.

Cindy's is THE place to go for decent Chinese food in Central or Southern Oregon! Or, maybe I should say the ONLY place to go for decent Chinese food in Central or Southern Oregon. We've had several meals at Cindy's and haven't been disappointed yet. The service has been great, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food has, for the most part, been prepared very well...and with flavor to boot!! Something we've been unable to find here in Medford. The only time we left feeling a little less than satisfied was an overcrowded evening...and it was apparent the chefs were under pressure to turn out meals quickly. Still, our meal was just fine. Try it...you'll like it.

Okay....let me say first that I am a California transplant and have yet to find a decent Chinese food place in Central Oregon. My wife, on the other hand, is from Bend and when I first moved here, she swore by "Eddies Canton" which is now closed and was located down on Bond St here in Bend. It was okay, but knowing what my wife thought was good Chinese food and what I know to be good Chinese food? Now you know what I am dealing with here. That being said, after the closing of "Eddies" we went thru a pretty dry spell of trying to find a remotely decent place for all the Americanized staples like "Sweet-n-Sour pork" or "Broccoli Beef". And then someone recommended "China Wok" which was at the current location of Kona Mix Plate...across from Fred Meyers. Specifically, this person said the "Mother's Chicken" was the bomb. So we started frequenting "China Wok". Bear with me....I'm getting to Cindys, okay? "China Wok" became our fave for a while (it was edible for me, but my family loved it) until their closing. Then about five years ago, we hear that the former owners of China Wok have now opened "Cindy's Chinese Garden" in Redmond. See? Told you I would get there. So that is how we wind up driving all the way to Redmond for our "take out" Chinese food. Is it worth it? NOT in my opinion. But my family refuses to eat anywhere else. Everytime we get the opportunity to try a different place, I think it is no better or worse than Cindy's....but they all groan and moan saying it gave them indigestion or looked like _________. Or was that cat we just ate? I keep saying, why don't we try_________ again? But noooo. If we have Chinese, it always means a trip to Redmond. Most frustrating to me is that they sometimes screw up the order....but when do you realize it? Back home. I mean, checking your "to go" Chinese order in the car is not like counting burgers and fries. So after driving back to Bend, you're hungry, you just want to eat....and you get Mar Far Chicken instead of Hunan Beef.....what are you going to do? Eat it. Three months later when the craving for Chinese comes up again, I protest in vain about going there again, but alas....our family is a democracy and I lose to the vote. The call is placed and so begins another 20 minute drive to Redmond for our mediocre Chinese take out. And hey...was that just Morris we ate?

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
