Jose's Mexican restaurant in The Gorge complex (bar, restaurant, store & gas) is good, authentic Mexican food. The chili relleno is flavorful and not too spicy hot. It was served with a fresh salad of lettuce, onion, avocado and tomato, rice and a sort of thick bean soup rather than refried beans and two tortillas. The tortilla chips were hot and not greasy and there was a mix of red and green salsa sauce with them. This establishment is in an old building; it is a bit run down but the food is worth stopping for.

The Gorge Restaurant Lounge & Saturday Smoke House Great smoked meats from the big green ceramic eggs, coal fired. Their own mustard based sauce. Had the Mud Burger / sandwich Smoked pulled pork on a fresh meat grilled cheese burger patty, grilled onions and seasonal peppers with a dash of house made slaw. All layered between 2 large romaine leaves since I said no bun. Side of fresh crispy tater tots included. Their regular menu looked good, quaint little restaurant, family run

This review is for JOSE'S, a restaurant within this complex. My boyfriend and I went on a road trip and often found ourselves a victim of hunger-induced yelp inflation. Meaning, people traveling in the middle of nowhere, hiking around and whatnot, get so hungry that they go to any restaurant and think it is the best food of their lives. We found so many places along 101 that were terrible but had 4+ yelp reviews. I am here to tell you that Jose's is the real deal. The salsa and steak fajitas were excellent, as was pretty much everything else. In a town where there are 3 - 5 places to eat, they could get away with being worse and charging more. However, for what it is, reasonably-priced Mexican, it is outstanding.

Very Good Authentic Mexican Food ! We were passing through on the way to Natural Bridge River, saw this on Yelp and so glad we stopped, Family friendly, nice clean place. We left feeling like we had a great home cooked meal. Very Flavorful ! June 2013.

This review is for the restaurant-Jose's Authentic Mexican-that is attached to the Gorge lounge. We live down the road and come here weekly because the food is soooooo good. This is delicious homestyle Mexican cooking with freshly home-made tortillas and salsa. Everything is so flavorful. Not your run of the mill cheesy plate generic Mexican. We love the chicken fajitas and enchiladas. And the prices are really affordable. The restaurant itself is pretty blahh looking...don't let that fool you!
