I'm blown away. We showed up on the day all the white folks pretend to care about Mexican culture, Cinco de Mayo. The place was packed, but we has prompt attentive service, drinks came quickly, food came out piping hot and in record time. The service makes this place several steps above most Mexican restaurants I've been to.

Not the best mexican food in town. The food was okay, salsa was great. But, the waitress absolutely hated her job. The fajitas have a Chinese tasting sauce on them. We went two buildings south of there at an authentic hole in the wall kind of place. It was unbelievably better.

The service was terrible. Forgot the drinks. Didn't even offer drinks until after we had been there for over 20 minutes. Almost an hour to get the food which was very bland.

I am a restaurant brat (my parents owned 5 in Sonoma County way back in the day), and I am so picky over service and food. So when I tell you, I like this place it's a huge deal for me. Excellent service, and good food!

The food is okay, the service is slow and unattentive. Prices are mediocre. It's not horrible and not great.

I wouldn't give a five because I think you can always improve. The food was good and there was plenty of it. The service was very good. There is a lot on the menu and some things I am looking forward to trying. I will go back and look forward to it. I was surprised at some of the negative comments on here. My extended family is Mexican so I know what is good Mexican food is.

My friend and I walked through the front door salivating at the idea of chips, salsa and a margarita and immediatley looked at each other and walked out. The smell was overwhelming and we never could figure out what it was but it was brutally foul!

Their food has seriously declined since I last ate there. The meat had no seasoning whatsoever and the bean dip wasn't nearly as good as it used to be. They also weren't equipped for a "to go" order, so when I ordered one, I got an odd assortment of metal pie tins and styrofoam boxes, half of which exploded all over the bag before I got it home. Decidedly unimpressed and probably won't go back again.

Salsa is fresh & spicy. Service is great. Prompt & friendly. "hi amigos, what would you like to drink?" They bring out tortilla chips, refried bean dip & salsa. Veg*an friendly. Huge servings! OMG! Totally went beyond my expectations. Granted, I did spend the whole day discovering Crater Lake on the back of my fathers motorcycle & lunch ended up being mixed nuts. When looking for a place to dine 'Ranchero' peaked my interest because of the reviews. We checked out the website and watched the techno video. Lmao!! Too funny. After checking in, in Prineville, the clerk suggested Mazatlan claiming it was better than Ranchero AND we would get 10% off just by showing our Ecolodge key card. So why not? I got the veggie burrito and it was massive. Served very hot. Choices of black beans verses the refried (probably pork glazed) beans. I was pleased with the fresh veggies inside. Bell peppers, onions, even carrots. Topped with pico & guacamole. It was such a large serving I couldn't finish it, in fact i ate more than i should have because it was SO hitting the spot.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
