We have driven by this place anytime we go to the reservoir or Kimberly. Never tried it until last night. My whole family opted for burgers. I also wanted a burger but im trying to eat a little healthier and went for the grilled chicken sandwich. My sandwich was good..had thick slices of tomato which I love and lettuce and pickle. The waitress forgot the ranch I requested on the side instead of on the sandwich but the chicken was moist and tasty so no need for the ranch. Healthier for me anyway! Both of my kids and my husband were very pleased with their burgers. My husband ordered a ginormous burger with ham and fried egg and bacon. He had to take half home. Milkshakes were thick and good...the potato salad I had with my sandwich was pretty tasty. Had dill in it which was a nice touch. We will be back I imagine next time we roll through prineville.
You cannot come to Prineville without going to Tastee Treet. If there's a better Burger somewhere else I certainly haven't found it and I've been pretty much everywhere. I've eaten here many times and today had the Double Cheeseburger and Potato Salad. The meat was cooked just right and the tomatoes, lettuce, etc were super fresh. This is not a "Fast Food Joint", everything is cooked to order so be patient. They have a large menu with many choices. If you're not stuffed after your Burger, try one of their awesome house made deserts. They are what every modern chain Drive In aspires to be but will never attain. They bring back memories of what real great food and service used to be. Keep it up guys!
I was on my way to the Painted Hills and decided to stop for some dinner in Prineville. I was with two friends one being vegetarian and me who hates going to chains, even in new towns. As we drove down the main strip looking for something to satisfy our bellies we noticed a sign that said "Tastee Treet" We decided this would be the place! Even my vegetarian friend was excited for some onion rings. We walked in not knowing what to expect... it is just a small town burger joint. We were greeted by a fun staff. We instantly felt like locals laughing with the workers as we waited for our burgers. I wanted to get the Hawaiian Burger with a chicken patty instead of a beef patty. This seemed to really baffle the staff. The conversation went something like this, "I would like the Hawaiian Burger with a chicken patty instead of beef" "What? Ok? Um... How do I do that... umm I guess I would charge you for.... I don't know!" I guess you can't mix it up to much in small towns. Then of course my vegetarian friend ordered... that through them for a loop. Even after all the confusion with my order I was very pleased! My burger tasted amazing! I would say better then many higher end restaurants with burgers. This place knows how to make one! The chicken was excellent and it was packed full of lot of yummy things, my favorite being guacamole! All and all if you find yourself starving in Prineville check out this place and don't just go through the drive in actually walk in! You have to check out the crazy counter top.

They are efficient, we often call our order in. Wished you could order online like other Subway stores and that they would honor the deals that often they won't.

Great Happy hour. Large margarita with tapa choice is only $7.99! Super awesome deal. They will do veggie tacos!! Muy bueno.
The place is a bit on the expensive side for what it is. And they seem a bit grouchy here. But the food is good and abundant, so I shan't complain too much. I'll eat here again eventually.
Wow ! this place gets it!! The guy who waited o us was the best the food was great and yes the restrooms are CLEAN!! I love this place. Easy to find and I will be returning my next trip To Prineville. The guy even offered to put onions in the black beans he says they can do it all!!

I'm blown away. We showed up on the day all the white folks pretend to care about Mexican culture, Cinco de Mayo. The place was packed, but we has prompt attentive service, drinks came quickly, food came out piping hot and in record time. The service makes this place several steps above most Mexican restaurants I've been to.
Not the best mexican food in town. The food was okay, salsa was great. But, the waitress absolutely hated her job. The fajitas have a Chinese tasting sauce on them. We went two buildings south of there at an authentic hole in the wall kind of place. It was unbelievably better.
The service was terrible. Forgot the drinks. Didn't even offer drinks until after we had been there for over 20 minutes. Almost an hour to get the food which was very bland.

This is our second time here and we cannot say enough good things about the sandwiches the menu is extensive and anything you want they can fix it it's fresh it's large sized you'll do good to eat half of it
Trying to support the local shop here in town, so I walked past the familiar subway to eat at the Sandwich Factory. Wowwww there are so many options. I got the gobbler (sans mayo) - it had turkey breast, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, and fresh orange slices. The orange slices was a new thing for me. I love the combo of cranberry sauce, cream cheese, and turkey, but the orange slices didn't do good things for me. Apparently, the flavor from fresh oranges can be over powering? I felt like I couldn't taste the cranberry sauce or cream cheese very well. Kind of odd. It was on sour dough, too. So, it was just really citrus-y and tart-y. NO. It was also ~$9 for the dang sandwich. Not a student cost-friendly meal. That's without a drink, but it did come with one of those tiny bags of chips. The one you buy in a variety pack at the store. Tiny. I don't know if I would come back here. The sandwich was alright. For 9 buckaroos the bread could have been made in-house or i don't even know. 9 was a lot for the size of the sandwich. Maybe other sandwiches are better and I picked the wrong one, but i don't think I'd risk paying for another alright sandwich. Service was quick and friendly though. Ladies were very nice and did not rush me while I was perusing their extensive menu.
Good food, nice people. They even put up with me when I incorrectly accused them of double charging my card and was a little bit of a dick about it (me, not them)!

For some reason this is my sister's favorite Mexican restaurant. I found the food to be mediocre at best. However the salsa and guacamole were both great....as for the rest of the food = bland, flour-y, greasy, not good...maybe I'm just spoiled by all the great taquerias in my home town. Skip the lunch buffet (it reminded me of a high school cafeteria buffet). Cheap packaged shredded cheese, black olives just thrown in a tub with juice and all (you had to swim for them I swear!). Subpar packaged and canned food thrown right into bowls and set out for the masses. I did like the little fried tortilla chips covered in whip cream that they bring out with the bill though. That was a nice touch in an otherwise bland place.
Now I'm not a Prinevillian--well not technically. I was raised there since '76 then moved to Eugene in '92 then Portland in 2000, so I'm something of a quassi-hipster-hippie-cowpoke. Having said that I've experienced a wide variety of restaurants all over Oregon from purely vegan to steak two inches thick and everything in between. I've eaten at five star restaurants on river cruises to excellent holes in the walls. I recognize the importance of the consistency of McDonald's and Starbuck's products from one store to the next and yet also appreciate finding a random hole in the wall that makes an amazing cinnamon roll and dry cappuccino. And in reading a fair number of reviews I've come to believe in two simple rules: 1. The writer should have had at least two to three distinctly separate experiences at the business in question and 2. the writer must be able to demonstrate the ability to separate their subjective thoughts and feelings from the objective experience. I've eaten at Ranchero since it opened. I admittedly go in biased as I was complimented by one of the staff who, after watching me down salsa covered hot nachos one after another said, "Hey man, you eat like a mexican!" I tell that story to friends and family from time to time because it's one of those experiences that made my day and brought me back to the Ranchero time and time again. I make the trek over the Cascades mounts ounce or twice a year and invariably find myself seated at Ranchero. The ambiance is warm and feista-like, the booths comfortable. There could be a few more seafood options on the menu for my girlfriend (hopefully they'll read this review and come up with a few more). The staff is generally kind with only one or two exceptions to those rules and these generally are the result of someone having a bad day (whether said person be the staff or, god forbid, the person writing a rant on Yelp! [Like that ever happens here!]). My experiences on January 9th, 2013, was overall good. The free salsa and chips--well, this is/was/may always be the absolute best free salsa I've ever eat at a Mexican place. The person serving my friend Petra and I, however, didn't seemed entirely interested in us other than what basic conversation was necessary to get the order taken the delivered followed by some form of payment. Now I should note I didn't feel the help that night was top notch and it certainly wasn't what I've experienced there in the past. What I will say is that out of having eaten there at least once a year for a decade or so I've come to respect the quality of Mexican food made at Ranchero even if their staff is sometimes, well, human! My only criticism? The first round of tortilla chips is free, after that its $1 a bowl. I've never had that experience in a mexican restaurant (though perhaps I don't look close enough at the bill). Free chips, folks, it keeps us happy while we try avoiding conversation with our families ;)
Love this place in small Prineville, Oregon. Right next door to the Rustler's Inn, very convenient to walk over and get a great meal. Have eaten here a few times, and food has always been great tasting. Bar makes an excellent margarita as well. Perfect to end a long hard work day.

We visited the new location this evening and were somewhat disappointed. The Cheeseburger and Chili Dog were very good however a bit pricey. We had to as for a fork and knife to eat with. There were 4-5 girls working and we only saw one delivering food while the other 3 were leaning on the counter chatting. We also noted there were many flies around and food on the floor like it hadn't been swept all day. The chairs are very comfortable but the bench seat where I sat was too wide and I was unable to lean back. With my bad back it was very uncomfortable. We will not be going back for a while.
Great food. Small town hospitality, staff was very friendly and the burgers were delicious. I also loved the tots! Clean establishment, to go orders were done quickly and freshly made. I will definetly be back
Staff was very friendly and full of smiles, but this was sadly the only highlight of my experience. Drive through wait time was very long. Menus are unprofessional and appear to have been quickly thrown together in Microsoft Word with ugly generic fonts, and there is no speaker box so they send someone out to stand and look at you while you are deciding what you want, which I found unpleasant even though the girl was nice. I ordered a 1/4 dog. It was mushy and didn't have any flavor. There was no "bite" to the dog casing WHATSOEVER, it was like a canned cocktail wiener. It was also barely warm by the time I got home. Bun and condiments were just fine, but wiener was so unpalatable I only ate half the dog. I honestly would have preferred to boil a grocery store wiener myself and save some cash. Fries appeared to be generic food service type. I asked about their burgers, which they form themselves (sounds promising, wished I would have ordered one instead) but I doubt Ill be returning any time soon. Last thing of note is they weren't able to provide a receipt for a debit purchase, which wasn't a big deal personally, but again seemed rather unprofessional.

I had the Mongolian Beef lunch special. This came with stir fry of beef and vegetables in a spicy Mongolian sauce. I had the plain rice and egg roll for the sides. The meal also came with a small bowl of egg soup while I waited for the main dish to cook. All of this came with the special for a little over $6; the drink was an additional cost. Overall it was $8. The food was cooked to order. The vegetables were not soggy and cut into easy to handle strips. The Mongolian sauce was slightly thick and spicy enough to almost make my nose run. The plain rice was moist enough to be handled by chop sticks. The egg roll was freshly made and crispy. The sauce for the egg roll was sweet & sour and on the thicker side (made dipping easier). The place was neat and clean. They provided a spoon and fork without asking. I had to ask for chop sticks. The hostess was easy enough to understand. The wait time for my food was under 20 minutes. The lunch specials last from 11am to 3pm. I was generally satisfied with experience. While the the dish was kind of spicy, the flavor was not strong. I'll probably go to lunch again, maybe dinner.
Really really bad. Terrible service, terrible food. There is never anyone eating here. I have no idea how they stay open.
This is a typical Chinese restaurant with typical Chinese food like 90% of the places in this category. In that respect it deserves five stars for consistency. I personally prefer Chinese food with a little more zing but the family thoroughly enjoyed it and that's why we were there.

My family from all over Idahi, Washington and Oregon all met in Prineville to lay a family member to rest. We made reservation for 14 to meet here after the service. My Aunt reminded the owner twice so there would be enough staff. We got there, the waitress didn't know anything about us coming and was not happy about it. We felt like we were bothering her. It was a 100 degree day and their air conditioning wasn't working. We asked about it and the waitress rolled her eyes and walked off. It was so miserable we just wanted touch order beverages. She complained to us that we had to order some food. We should have walked a out from the start.. Glad we didn't order food. Service was slow and rude...one other table, otherwise no other customers. No need for her to be rude.
This Is the third time I've been to this restaurant. I had a bacon cheeseburger with swiss cheese and french fries which was delicious. Every time i come here its always a very enjoyable experience. The place has a very good diner feel. The food is good and you can always count on very good service every time you come here. I would definitely come back here.
Great waffles and pancakes. Huge helpings of hash browns. Eggs over easy were perfectly done. Mushroom and cheese omelet was yummy. Very nice waitress. Clean bathrooms.
