Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

For a business that has multiple locations, Pizzicato is pretty good and consistent across the board. If I just need a quick pizza craving fix then I would go grab a slice of pepperoni. There 10" is affordable, about $12.50, and could feed two people. I like the pear arugula and caesar salad--very garlicky in a great way. They made a satisfying portobello and arugula panini, I don't even miss not having meat. Service is friendly and fast. They will deliver in the evening time.

I used to like this place, but this is the third time I've come here when "we're out of stout". This is my last visit. I'm finished with this crappy place! :-( Plus, now it is apparent, the service is slooooooow. Spare YOURSELVES The misery. There Are A Million Places To Get pizza. No need to stop here. Not coming back here. Ever.

Best Vegan pizza we've ever had (Eric's Thai). The Thai sauce explodes in your mouth and the crust is super light and airy...just plain delicious!

I use to eat at the PSU one all the time when I was a student over ten years ago. It brings back great memories and the food still tastes exactly the same, even at the division location! I still get the same exact two things up until this day. I should probably try something different but it is that good to me. I must get my two items, pepperoni pizza and the caesar salad. I'm pretty sure they have one of the best caesar salads ever!

I know, I know, there are lots of 'hot' pizza places in Portland. Pizzicato has been around forever, and it's definitely nostalgia food for me. Pizzicato has stood the test of time, and honestly, the puttanesca never disappoints.

  • Jando S.

I haven't hopped on the Pizzicato bandwagon ever, despite a growing presence throughout Portland and now northern California (whoa!). There might be some subtle bias with being around New York pizza so often, but when there is fresh ingredients, thin slices and a good variety of toppings, one will ultimately find something they like here. The pizzas might be the star of the show, though I've yet to fall in love with any of them. Many folks have touted the Puttanesca ($26 Large) as their favorite, but the artichokes and olives haven't tasted as wonderful as they look. I also have similar results from the Molto Carne ($26 Large), which featured a hearty portion of pepperoni, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, and olives, but was largely bland for every bite. There was some high hopes with the Kale and Italian Sausage ($27 Large), but the flavors just weren't potent enough to elicit much fanfare on my end. That said, I'm glad they offer an interesting mix of topping combos, including a nice array of vegan options as well. Salads and paninis have been a different story however. At a little over $8 each, the paninis are served in a fluffy ciabatta bread that works as the perfect lunch when served fresh. The Grinder (ham, pepperoni, bacon, provolone, peppers) gets a thumbs up, as does the The Club (chicken, bacon, avocado, ripe tomato, mayo, provolone). When they come with a side salad, the Arugula Pear and Kale Feta have easily emerged as standouts from the rest of the leafy pack. The staff is understandably young, even if a bit hipster, but super friendly. While they haven't been as spot on as I had hoped for the pizza recommendations, they've certainly made up for it with stellar work and infectious amiability. This aspect alone is enough to warrant many return visits.

Good environment and customer service. The panini and salads are tasty. The pizza is still growing on me. Amen for being convenient to the house.

These guys (and girls) never let us down. Fantastic customer service. On my most recent visit, I realized 10 minutes after ordering that I forgot my coupon. Without any question my bill was adjusted by $12. If I ever have a concern about your order, even if it's my fault, they make it right. No to mention, the pizza is always bomb. Tip- sign up for email list and get the above mentioned monthly coupon.

I ventured into this established no more than two days ago. The pizza was absolutely delicious. But at a restaurant like this, flavor is just a fragment of success. One of my close friends spilled her water all over the floor. She was embarrassed but it's happened to everyone right? No big deal, it's a simple cleanup. The employees saw the spill and did nothing to help. I was cleaning up with napkins while I waited to get something more absorbent, but it never came. I guess that was a poor expectation on my part. So I went up to one of the servers and asked him for a towel. He looked at me and gave me no response whatsoever. He just walked away. I was actually somewhat shocked by this. I just stood there feeling curious and he came back with a towel, looked at me and threw the towel on the ground, just staring at me, waiting for me to get on my hands and knees and start cleaning. I would have been perfectly happy to clean up the mess, but his attitude was just so appalling. We cleaned it up, but I hope the managerial staff at Pizzicato is going to do some evaluations.

love you guys. healthy, tasty, scrumptious. love the pear arugula salad ... I could LIVE on that alone, but I usually try whatever is on special and love your pizza. healthy food up in here and great people behind the counter.

Love their kale salad! Love their Caesar salad. I'm a thin crust kinda gal so this is one of my favorite pizza places. Employees are always cheerful. The genuine kind of cheerful. The formaggi sausage mushroom is ridiculous.

These guys make good pizza with lots of alternatives for gluten free, no tomato, etc. I regularly order it delivered as I have two young kids who can eat you alive when they are hungry. The other day Pizzicato saved me. It was super hot outside and my husband had been out of town for a week = frazzled mama. I ordered a pie and it came in the time they estimated, but when I opened it up it had an extra garnish of basil. Weirdly, my kids and I are allergic to basil and I had forgotten they often spread it on top. When I called Pizzicato and they sent a new pie in 15 minutes! They were so nice. I will certainly order from them more often!

Greasy, delicious pizza! Serve yourself soda, which I love. On the expensive side but a nice treat!

This chain has been offering suprising flavor choices for years. The one on division is tasty as well. If u dont know the pizzacato go & get to know the pjzzacato!

I use to live close to this Pizzacato, and the BF lives down the street. I haven't been to Pizzacato since I use to work downtown, so I thought we would give it a try. The BF got a slice of the Cheeze pizza. It was pretty good..not the best. I like that you can order by the slice. For $3.25, I can't complain. I ordered the Medium Ceaser Salad $8.00. While it's expensive for what it is, I LOVE this salad! It's like they threw in a ton of garlic and lemon juice, tasted it, and thought, "you k now that this needs? More Garlic and Lemon!" Well Fine by me. I love that Salad. I would def get it again.

  • Katie M.

Love this place for lunch. The different lunch specials and the variety of by the slice pizza makes it great. The menu is fantastic but way over priced! Over $30 for a large pie is just a little extreme. The food is good but not great, take home tends to be soggy, but eat is is fine. The staff and environment are a little on the hipster side but all friendly. Overall go for lunch or an early dinner but don't waste money on a whole pie.

We love the Sellwood Pizzicato, but the Division restaurant is obviously under different ownership. The salads and slices aren't as fresh, and their stingy attitude toward customer service really taints the dining experience. Staff are generally surly and not looking happy to be there. They also have ridiculous rules about coupons and promotions, not allowing me to cash in on my hard-earned free slice (after purchasing 12!) and use a $1 off Chinook Book coupon to purchase a slice for my kid. When I asked why ever not the chick behind the counter looks at me like I'm trying to steal from her. These promotions are supposed to make the restaurant-goer's experience better, aren't they? Rather than worse?

Tasty pizza! And I'm really a deep dish girl at heart, but I still find their crust quite tasty. My main complaint is that it's a bit spendy, though it is in line with what most places like it charge. (I was spoiled by cheap pizza in NY.) That, and they don't bring the BBQ chicken pizza around often enough! I love that pizza! They also have tasty cookies! :) As for this location, it's got a parking lot, and outside seating. I'm not so much a fan of the converted warehouse look, but it is spacious and kept very clean.

I'm not a regular consumer of Pizzacato pizza but I really like their Chinese Chop Salad. I had one of those the other day and a Margerita pizza. The salad wasn't chopped very well but the flavor was good (I love the wasabi dressing!) . A long time ago (or maybe it's this location?) it was chopped more like coleslaw. Now, some of the cabbage pieces are in big chunks. The Margerita pizza was ok - the tomatoes were flavorless but I grow my own so I have high standards. Overall, the experience/food was pretty a-ok by me.

Had slices at another Pizzicato location and liked them so picked up 2 large pies here to take to a party. Our pizzas basically replaced the party's other food options like giant battleships cruising through a bunch of rowboats. About the only negatives: Was real busy (they handled our order perfectly), and the parking lot is a bit tight (for the area that's the norm). Bottom line: We and everyone at the restaurant seemed happy with the food and service.

  • Nanick N.

Great staff, good pizza. My complaint is the salads-- pricey yet not ver good-- sometimes just a box o' greens. Every time I buy one I'm disappointed, and swear i wont do it again, but the place is convenient, and my son loves pizza.

  • Marianne S.

Pizzicato isn't a bad place to go when you just want a quick bite, especially for lunch time. They have a pizza, salad, and drink special for only $7.25. There pizzas are always really good and they have unique options. They have a lot of salad options to choose from, which is great! They also serve some good beer and wine options. I like the atmosphere of the place, kind of rustic looking. When I'm in the mood for a slice, this is probably the most reasonably priced.

  • Adrian M.

I try to go a few times a month. The pizza is of exceptional quality, best when accompanied with their arugula pear salad. Customer service is always on point and perfect. Also, grab their punch cards. You can get a gigantic salad for free after you buy so many. Same with slices, whole pizzas and paninis.

I've recently gone gluten free and then decided to throw a pizza party for my husband's birthday. Thankfully my friends are awesome and didn't mind one of the pies being GF. This was our first experience with Pizzicato and we were not disappointed. Everyone loved the Canadian Bacon & Pineapple pizza (with traditional crust) and the GF Pepperoni was delicious. The GF crust is thin, but tasted like any other thin pizza crust. It had a good chew to it, and the spicy pepperoni helped make the pizza top notch. And thanks to my trusty Chinook Book app I got 2 16" pizzas for the price of 1! With their yummy food, free delivery, and close proximity to our place I would definitely order Pizzicato again.

for the month of october the pizza was a chicken sausage and apple. it was delicious. This is gourmet pizza. I mean the different flavors all work so well with each other. Also a nice place to hang out. Grabbed a beer while we waited for pizza and read the menu. So many combos that you have to read twice but after asking for a recommendation, i knew they wouldn't steer me wrong. i will be back to taste whatever else the counter person recommends. may be a little biased since pizza is my fave food, but really the crust is crispy and thin. the toppings truly taste fresh and the sauce is easily taken apart by taste buds. 2 thumbs up!

We've only had pizza a handful of times while in Portland, being recent transplants, but Pizzicato is one place we keep going back to for something a little unusual but delicious. The salads are good and fresh, the dressing is very tasty and not over used on any of the salads, and the pizza has always been tasty. We've had both pizza and panini along with our salads, and there are no complaints for either! If you eat in, they have a decent beer selection. This location offers delivery (free after 5 p.m.) if you're wanting to eat at home. We've dined in as well as taken orders to go, and both times we enjoyed our meals. It is a little pricey for pizza, but it's a nice meal.

The BEST pizza in town! A little pricey compared to other pizza joints, but I can't help but to return over and over again! The Caesar dressing is the best!

The pizza wasn't sloppy done like some pizzerias. They have a gluten free alternative, but it only comes in small or medium. The pizza was great but not awesome. I am glad that they have MANY locations for this place. The pizza did stay hot, by the time we got to the motel room it was still warm/hot. I heart artichoke hearts.

This pizza place was pretty good! I would probably order here a fair amount if they would deliver, but we live just outside of their delivery area. The pizza we had was pretty tasty and I hope to check them out for lunch sometime.

A cute little gourmet pizza restaurant with incredibly friendly staff. We got the Margherita and although it was far more than you'd pay at a chain like Domino's, it was definitely well-made with fresh ingredients.

Amazing pizza and customer service. The employees seriously go above and beyond. I called for delivery to my workplace, and Kyle answered at this location listing. He was so nice and referred me to their catering for a large delivery order before usual delivery time. He was so helpful as was the delivery person. The pizza is DELICIOUS!

Love the lunch special. I think it's about $6 for a slice, a salad (their salads are fresh and perfect) and a beverage. The Division location is modern and very close to Tabor.

I haven't had their pizza in a while but boy do I love their pizza! Love the crust, and it doesn't seem as greasy as other places. MMMmm I also like their ceasar salad but wish they would cut the leafs smaller so that I could fit it in my mouth. LOL

  • Laura H.

The pizza and salads here are pretty good. My advice is to keep your pizza simple though. The more toppings or more unusual toppings the crappier the pizza tastes.

  • Junho S.

Went for lunch at Pizzicato and had their lunch special. Slice of pizza, salad, and drink. Order at the counter and find a table to eat. The portions were large and at a cheap price. The pizza is not your typical NY style or Chi Style. The crust was very light almost like a fluffy flat bread. I ordered the Puttanesca pizza and Arugula Pear salad. Both were good but nothing special. Service was friendly and restaurant has a urban decor. This place is basically a lunch spot for fast food that doesnt taste fast. "No non sense come in eat and leave. Asi Asi."

We have been to this Pizzacato several times as it is one of the few decent restaurants within (warm weather) walking distance of our house. It's got a patio that's great for enjoying a summer night and several booths inside. I'm not sure if it's the industrial look (and lack of insulation), but we have found the seating area to be rather chilly/breezy during the winter. I would say that pizza, salads, beverage selection and staff are all four stars. They always have interesting pizza choices. Our standby is the puttanesca. We also love their salad options. Those are probably close to five stars, filled with fresh veggies and little bits of sweetness, topped with dressings that compliment the greens nicely. The only drawback in my mind is price. It's not outragously high, but I'm always a little disappointed by the tab for a simple/small meal at a pretty bare bones pizza chain. We usually get there later, but if you can fit the lunch special (pizza and salad), that's a great value.

Initially, I got a really good impression from the nice guy who took my pizza order. I ordered slices to be reheated and brought out to our table. 15-20 minutes later, after I noticed people were getting their slices who came later than us, I went up and asked if our order was coming. The waitress was rude and curtly answered, "It's coming." Then I saw the guy who took my order finally put our slices into the oven. They completely forgot about us. And the waitress was arguing with her boyfriend (who was sitting at a booth) between serving customers. When we finally got our pizza, it was so bland and boring. This was the worst Pizzicato experience ever. Won't be returning here.

From the outside, this place may seem somewhat posh--even a little "uppity" in some regards--but once you walk through the huge garage door and approach the counter with an array of unique pies, ready to buy by the slice, you soon realize you're in just another neighborhood joint with some warehouse flair. With an even choice of vegetarian or carnivore pies, most have either a tomato or olive oil (pesto) base. The crust is light and the ingredients are strong but minimal. For instance, we ordered the Quattro Formagio Pie and instead of being taken over by 4 cheeses as the name suggests, we found a slew of fully intact cloves of garlic scattered across the pie. Bold in taste and rich with fresh and well thought-out ingredients, this $25 pizza was well worth it. After drinks, we fed a family of 4 with a slice to take home to the dog for an even 30 bones. Not the cheapest pie in town but where can you really go these days for under $30 and get a high quality meal? Not to mention, the laid-back atmosphere and casual dining space similar to that of a bustling coffee shop lets you save a few bucks on the full service dining experience. Speaking of service, the workers were super friendly and uber helpful so don't forget about that tip vase by the cashier if you have as pleasant of experience as we had. One more thing: "kid friendly?" Yes... except for the huge garage door being open to just 10 feet away from Division. Our 2 year old ran out twice and b-lined it for the busy street so keep an eye on the little ones. And one more thing, there is plenty of parking in their private lot, a luxury here in Portland if you can't bike/walk.

I really like Pizzicato. The pies are tasty and the slices are big. I've eaten here a bunch of times and it is usually tip-top, however, the last few times i've been here the slices have been SOGGY (so bad that I had to toss it in the garbage). I still like Pizzacato, I like the atmosphere, and the people who work there, but I pray that I don't ever have another slice of soggy pizza.

For pizza and salad in Portland there are only two places to go: Pizzicato and Vincente's. They have different strengths but they both rock! Of course, all Pizzicato locations are not equal (I prefer the Division and Downtown stores) but as far as quality, not-sitting-out-for-too-long, inventive pizza and really generous and tasty salad portions, I can't think of a better place. I agree that their full pies are on the expensive side, but they are so tasty, I can't bring myself to care so much. Also, I am always super happy with the service. I've been going there for years and have never had a bad or even questionable interaction with a counter person. That, to me, is worth more than anything. I'm very glad they moved into my neighborhood last year!

The Seven Corners Pizzacato is within walking distance of home, but this outlet on Division is much nicer. The ambiance is better, and it opens earlier on the weekend. If you're out in this area late Sunday morning and in need of an early lunch, look no further. Nice pie and drink selections, with salad options, and outdoor seating is available.

initially i had a great experience at pizzacato after going in too late the other night and the woman at the counter gave us free pizza because they were getting ready to close. but! i went in today and had the most uncomfortable feeling about what was going on behind the scenes/behind the counter. we ordered the last 4 vegan slices and what ensued was this rather odd behavior by two guys behind the counter. one of the guys did something "funny" to which his co-worker shook his head sort of in "you never quit" (ultimately condoning the behavior). then the "funny one" proceeds to look over in my direction multiple times as if he was watching to see if i was. overall, it was an uncomfortable experience.
