Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Pizzicato is my go to neighborhood pizza delivery! They have a ton of vegetarian options, not to mention gluten-free and vegan too! It's definitely a crowd pleaser at our house. Delivery after 5pm is free!

Still love Pizzicato! But I have a new favorite, it's the Puttanesca! I lalalalaLOVE it. I'm also addicted to the arugula pear salad and it goes really well with the Puttanesca. Free delivery after 5pm. Not too shabby.

Had a great experience here! The employees were very nice and gave suggestions since it was my first time there. I got a slice of pizza, a salad and a cookie and it was $11. Thought that was reasonable. I went with the kale salad which was awesome! Highly recommend it. Pizza was good too but salad was the best part. Great for a quick night bite and I'll be back again!

The pizza is delicious. The monthly special flavors are creative and amazing. The salads are generous. Staff is super nice. They mess up our order about half the time. I walk in to pick up a phones in order only to find they forgot to make it. Or we carry it home without checking it and find upon arrival that it's the wrong pizza. They're very nice about mix ups and are generous with the free pizza cards to make up for the mix ups. We keep coming back because the pizza is amazing, but if you are annoyed by things like mixed up orders and long waits, you should probably go somewhere else.

I was pet sitting in the area and had not had time to go marketing yet. I was on my way to take care of a rambunctious 60 pound 6 month old puppy and knew I needed to have something in my tummy in order to deal with him the minute I stepped through the door so I stopped at Pizzicato and picked up two slices to go. I admit I ate one while sitting in my car in the parking lot and took the second slice home with me to enjoy after puppy time. The special that night had a type of Italian Salami, it was delish. The other slice was the Puttenesca, I highly recommend this pizza. While waiting for my slices to be heated to perfection a couple ordered a few slices of gluten free pizza, yep that is right, they will make you individual slices of Gluten free pizza, you don't have to order an entire pie, now that is amazing in my opinion. This place is for take out, not for dining in.

This place is great! Even though it's a smaller space, the delicious food and awesome service definitely make up for it! The paninis and pizza are good, but I especially like the Italian Cobb salad. Definitely worth your money!

The crew at this Pizzicato location is really fantastic. They're great at making conversation are always helpful with suggestions when I'm being indecisive. Wait times at this location are reasonable and the food is always consistently delicious. I've been here at least a dozen times and have never left disappointed. I really appreciate that they offer monthly flavors and have items like breadsticks, bruschetta and toasted sandwiches. They have a wide variety of bottled and canned beverages as well as to-go wine and beer.

It's disappointing to have to write this review. My family's been going to this original Pizzicato location since they first got started back in 1989. Always been pleased with the quality and value ... but something has changed. As we've been doing for 25 years, we ordered a large 1/2 puttanesca, 1/2 pepperoni. The first thing I noticed upon picking up the box was that it was so light. I even opened it up to check before leaving the store, to make sure they hadn't accidentally put a small pizza in a large box. Nope ... just a super-thin $25 pizza with little cheese. For the first time in a quarter-century, we were all profoundly disappointed by Pizzicato's product ... and this was the first time we finished a large with no leftovers and still feeling hungry. Maybe it was a one-off thing -- perhaps the pizza cook was having a bad day -- but I sincerely hope they take note of this review from a long-time loyal customer and correct course soon.

I love Pizzicato....seriously. Probably one of my favorite places to grab a quick slice or one of their delicious salads or panini's. Is any of it healthy!? HELL NO! But delicious?! HELLS YES! When you live on the west side there aren't always a ton of one off pizza shops to grab something unique. It's all chains out here and Pizzicato being the best of the chains I would say. They have great lunch specials and it's nice you can get some wine or beer with that slice. They are happy to make a pizza "your way" if you are buying a whole one. My faves include: Either the black forest ham or portobello panini's....seriously so, so good. As for pizza, the Quattro Formaggi, Puttanesca, and Rudy's pizza are absolutely delish! Have never had bad food here, never any bad service, it's always been quick and fresh. Can be a little on the spendy side to purchase a whole pizza, but it's well worth the $$ Oh yeah, and their breadsticks....YUM! P.S. They also have gluten free options!

I think Marc started the first Pizzacato here. It was a small operation, dedicated to quality and refinement, a simple thing done well. A family member wanted to open a second location and the rest is history. Each of the other locations I've been to has the same dedication, great ingredients, including build your own options, even cheeseless. This location is very small, best for order and pick up (by phone is fine) or grab and go on the slices of the day. There are now other fancier options in Portland with atmosphere, and of course more inexpensive and heavier. Pizzacato is the spot for solid, tasty, healthy, and a great custom built pies at a good price. They also have a new gluten free crust, primarily cornmeal. Not my concern, but for some it's important.

*Slice Review* I want to note this is a review of warmed slices at the Sylvan Pizzicato location and NOT of an entire pizza. I eat at Pizzicato quite often but rarely at this location since it is not near my house. I found the slices here to be lacking in the normal excellent Pizzicato taste, though it certainly hit the spot during a late lunch on the run. The crust was crisp and perfectly done, but I did not get the tang of the sauce or the spice of the Pepperoni like I expect. The Puttanesca was pretty much the same...good, but not as good as normal. The location is very small and has just a few seats inside, so take out and delivery are a staple of the Sylvan Pizzicato. The cook/cashier was very nice and exhibited great customer service skills. They also compost their waste, including the food-based cutlery. Bravo! Unfortunately, I cannot give the slices more than 3 stars, but I would come back here again to try a takeout pie the next time I am in the Sylvan area. I'm hoping the full pizza will allow me to bring the review up to 4 stars.

This particular location is my favorite because it is close to where I work. I love to order a half baked pie to bring home and enjoy for a quick dinner. (For those of you who are not familair with a half baked pie, it is simply a pie that has not been cooked to completion. You get to bring it home and cook it in a 450 degree oven for 15 minutes so that it is hot & fresh ...works perfectly). The folks at Pizzicato on Sylvan are really friendly and always give extra stamps on my frequent slice card :D

UPDATE**I upgraded this store back to four stars because they seem to have resolved the cheese problem ** First off, Pizzicato is my favorite pizza of all. But I have to say I'm disappointed in this location. I go here often because it's right off the highway on the way home, but for the past few months I've noticed that the pizza barely has any cheese on it. At first I thought I just got a bad slice, but in every subsequent order the cheese has been sparse to nonexistent. I had company from out of town the other night so I ordered two large pizzas. I asked for extra cheese just to be safe. But when we started eating them one of my guests asked if that particular variety was supposed to come without cheese. We picked apart the toppings and managed to pull up a tiny string of mozzarella. Not only did they not add extra cheese, once again they barely used any cheese at all. If they don't correct this I'm afraid I'm going to have to cross the Sylvan store off my list. BTW, I got a slice at the Fremont store for lunch -- it had cheese on it! Delicious.

I was very disappointing in this store tonight. I love pizzicato pizza and on many occasions I have walked from my house to get a slice or had it delivered with no problem. tonight they were disorganized to an extreme. I decided to pick up my pizza they said 40 minutes. When I got there (after 40 minutes) they told me it would be another 10-12 minutes. However I waited for about 20 minutes and finally after hearing that they had sent someone elses pizza out to another person asked about mine again. Turns out it was sitting on top of the oven the whole time. When I got home it was soggy. The person didn't even look for it after I paid and there was no system if I hadn't asked it would have sat there all night.

This is definitely meant to be a place to stop on your way home via Hwy 26, just off of the Sylvan exit. The small space isn't designed for a sit-down meal, though they have a four-person (give or take) bar should you choose to get pizza by the slice. I got my medium combo in 10 minutes, much quicker than I usually get at their other locations (again, it's a quick-stop shop). They also have bottles of wine and beer for take-out only. Pizzicato is a bit more expensive than your average pizza joint, but the ingredients are of a higher quality than your typical national chain variety. If you need a pizza recommendation, then try the quattro formaggi w/ sausage and mushroom. Delicious!

  • Alexandra A.

This location's pizza was not as good as the other Pizzicato's locations. I was a bit disappointed. It is a great location for those on hwy26 and need a quick bite. The seating is a bit limited so that might be an issue for groups or for families. If you can hang on to the Beaverton location that is close to target. I would do that instead. This location's pizza doesn't live up to the Pizzicato food I'm used to.

  • Angela B.

Perfect spot to run in and grab a Pizzicato pie to go for those folks on their way home to the burbs (this location is right off the Sylvan exit on Sunset Highway). Unlike other Pizzacato locations, this is more of a pick-up and go than a family-style restaurant where you can grab a seat and sit down. I have stopped in for a quick slice, but the space is so small you are lucky if you can find any seat at all.
