This is my fourth time here. First check in though. I basically am writing this review because I have consistently gotten such awesome service here that I believe all other Portland restaurants should send their staff here to learn what good service entails. Since moving to Portland, while I've been to a few restaurants with good food, none of the restaurants offer service approaching what I'd consider average elsewhere. This place actually offers service that would be considered good elsewhere. Here in Portland, that makes it a five-star experience. Food-wise, it is your standard Outback chain-restaurant fare. I keep coming back though because of the service.

Two staff members opened the front door for my mother and I which was a great first impression. All the staff were super friendly and professional. We each had the steak and lobster promotion for $16. My initial thought was gimme a break how are they going to give me that meal and have it be any good for that price. They totally nailed it. Portion was just the right size and lobster was cooked perfectly. If your looking for a great steak go here.

While this is a chain restaurant, it's a good one. There are better specialty places out there but for the price and taste it's a great deal.

We went here because of a gift card. The second visit, but it's been a really long time since the last visit. We went on a busy weekend evening. Got seated in a booth in the bar area after a wait. When we were nearly done, saw some people hovering and taking tables that opened the bar area. Guess they couldn't wait in line like the rest of us. The food was OK. Portions are fairly large. I was able to customize a couple of things and that was really nice that they allowed that without any hassle. Personnally, I wish they would lower the sodium levels in their food. I think this is an ok place, but not a wow place.

My husband, daughter and I went to this Outback for lunch. Upon arriving we were pleased to see the new decor. It looked comfortable and modern inside. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was so sweet with our special needs daughter. We had the Alice Springs Quesadilla, ,Burger, Clam chowder and chicken strips off the kids menu. The food was delicious. During our meal the manager, Jason, stopped by the table to make sure everything was tasty and to see if he could get us anything else. I like the personal attention and the fact that he really wanted our experience to be good. We will most certainly go back

The hubs and I got a gift card here for Xmas and so we loaded the gang up in the car for some grub. The service was the one plus in the visit and pushed an otherwise well deserved "2 star" into a into a three. Our meal started out with some hard, partially burnt bread followed by very mediocre meals of ribs, sandwiches, wings, and steak. The steak quality was average for a chain and the sandwichs and wings were nothing to write home about. The ribs were tender but unfortunately were beginning to get on the dry side so I had to ask for more sauce to drown them in. I'm not entirely sure we would go back again, even if we did have a gift card.

My rating is given because of the horrible greeting we were given. My friend and I came in with a smile on our face for some good steak however there was a lady at the door and a host just staring at us as if we should know where to go. Once we gave our name and was given our buzzer it lit up but did not buzz which we didn't care so what?. However the host made a rude comment and said, "Obviously it's buzzing you should know when you are next." Honestly dude just slow down a bit and learn to talk to people. Ask us how we are. Treat us as your guests.

For a chain it's just OK. I guess the only thing "true blue" about this place is Fosters beer. Also keep in mind that down under people (Aussies and Kiwis) don't eat "Aussie Cheese Fries." We consider that pretty awful.

Let me start by saying the service was very good. We were seated quickly and our server got to us even faster. We had water and bread on the table within minutes. However, my outback special 8 oz steak was one of the worst pieces of meats I've ever eaten. The presentation in itself was bad as the steak looked like it had been run over by a semi truck and then kicked around by some school children. The meat was tough and to boot was lukewarm at best. I do not complain in restaurants because that is just my nature, besides with two children I don't have forever to sit around and wait for them to meltdown.

This place is cozy, warm, inviting and delicious! Not to mention the kind and accommodating management and staff. Their New Zealand lamb is delicious, not to mention halal. Definitely be back!

Best service I have had in a LONG time. Wish I knew the gal's name, but she was amazing and on top of everything! The food was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly and was such an enjoyable meal over all!! Can't wait to come back

Stop with the sighs. Yes. It's a chain. Sometimes when you want to keep the kids happy and not have an all out fight to make sure they eat, that's what it takes. We have been to this location before, and always had good service. They are in the middle of a remodel but it's not a big deal. They were having a special on steak and all you can eat shrimp. Well count me in! The filet my wife got, while it didn't look like a filet, was cooked perfectly. I had a sirloin. Also cooked how I asked. To be fair all out food was prepped perfectly, which I will admit, steak temps and chains usually aren't. So +1 to the kitchen. The additional orders of shrimp always came out HOT and FAST! Take a note red lobster or any other place offering a similar special. +1 to both server and kitchen. My son had a kids burger with bacon (yea, that's my kid). And it was gone in seconds. My daughter had steak medallions. Now, here is why I didn't give a full 5 stars. The offering for kids usually isn't top shelf. Let's be fair, MOST kids can't tell the difference. And while the steak temp was a mid well (because it's usually over cooked) and cooked correctly. It was a bit tough and not a decent steak. Maybe next time I'll split something of myne with her. But all in all. It was good and we will come back!

Best dining experience I have had in a long time. Our waitress Whitney was amazing! She remembered everything we ordered and was very fast and thorough. She went above and beyond! There coconut strawberry smoothies are delicious! Thank you Whitney!! Keep up the good work!!

It is consistent with what you expect at an Outback. The remodel makes it look almost new and they have a few tables outside, which is fantastic. The service was good. I am taking away one star because the food was so so. My chicken sandwich was dry and the chicken was over cooked.

My boyfriend and I can here with a few of our colleagues after a business meeting. We just needed somewhere to grab a bite and have a few drinks. Outback happened to be the closest restaurant. Everything starting out fine our waiter was very polite and helped us with the menu but most importantly told us to try berry and peach mojito, which was amazing! So here's why I'm only giving two stars! Nothing to do with the food although it was mediocre... The service was horrible! Our current waiters shift had ended so he introduced to our new waiter... As he was taking our menus to go run back our order he bumped my boyfriends drink and it spilled everywhere. Which is fine accidents happen BUT he didn't help is clean off the drenched table and didn't offer to get him another on the house we had to buy another drink. The worst part is after using all our napkins to clean up the mess he just watched us and left the wet napkins there the whole meal until we asked another waiter to take them. Pretty unpleasant experience and it was obvious our second waiter did not care about the customers whatsoever. Probably won't come back this place is nothing special.

I know, hard to review a national chain, but this franchise has welcoming service and efficiency down. My mother loves the seared ahi tuna (better than what we had at a seafood restaurant on the coast). Steak is done perfectly to order and well, that blooming onion is a guilty pleasure.

The "Call Ahead" seating doesn't seem to make any difference. We called ahead and got our name on the list, and when we got there they said the wait would be 5 minutes. over 20 minutes later (past the "call ahead" time) we were seated. And there weren't many people waiting. From the moment you finally get seated at this restaurant they are trying to rush you. There were four of us, and we were rushed to our table, trying to keep up with the guy that was seating us. Then we were rushed to order after our server read through the specials at 500 words per minute. She kept coming back every two minutes asking if we were ready to order, while we were obviously still looking at the menu. When the food came it was rushed onto our table without waiting for us to make room. While we were eating our server kept coming back asking if we were done and pouring the rest of the sparkling wine into our glasses. I know that they need to turn their tables, since people are waiting, but this is a little ridiculous. Don't go to this restaurant if you want a relaxed dining experience. The ambience is basic but not bad. The booth we were seated at was a very tight fit, and you can't move the table to create more room. If you're tall, don't get a booth, since you'll just feel claustrophobic and won't have any elbow room. We ordered their signature appetizer, the Bloomin' Onion, and it was good. The only problem was that we had to flag down our server and ask for individual plates. Eventually we got some. We had their standard steaks, medium rare, and they we were cooked perfectly to the standard for "medium." The meat was OK. Not tough, but not tender either, but it wasn't their premium cut, so that's to be expected. The portion size was OK, but the sides (mashed potatoes) weren't anything special. We also had drinks from the bar, and they were perfect. A margarita, a martini and their sparkling wine. For the price, this place seems like a good value. For the four of us, with drinks steaks and two salads, the check was just under $75. We didn't order any dessert. All in all, it wasn't bad. If the service were better, I'd give this four stars.

I've been to this Outback a few times, and I love it. It is usually crowded, so if you don't make a reservation you are going to be in for a wait (I've eaten at the bar before because of this), but if you have the foresight to call ahead, you should be good to go. This most recent visit, we made a reservation, showed up about fifteen minutes early, and we were seated immediately while there was already a crowd of people starting to form in the entryway. As we were brought to our table, we were even thanked for making the reservation, so it seems that this location really appreciates it when people call ahead. The food is always great. Honestly, for me, it's their side dishes and appetizers that really bring them up to five stars. I love both their Coconut Shrimp and Bloomin' Onion appetizers, the latter of which I always gorge myself on and then am unable to finish my main dish. Their broccoli is always delicious, and I'd definitely recommend their garlic mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. Drinks are a little expensive, but I can't help myself from ordering the Wallby Darned because it is sooo good; it is a mix of peaches, champagne, vodka, and peach schnapps. If you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend tasting that one on your next visit. This is a chain, yes, but it is a chain with high standards for quality of both food and service.

Our Mother wanted to get together for Easter and since the Holiday does not really mean anything to the rest of us other than it being a Sunday, we decided on Lunch at Outback. I have not been here in at least 20 years and it was not as good as I remembered it or maybe my palate has matured, I am going with that, my palate has matured. I finally got to try the Blooming Onion, a breaded, greasy and over-fried (in my opinion gut bomb), never doing that again. I ordered the Fillet and Lobster Tail with a Salad and Baked Potato.. The potato was overcooked and tiny, the Fillet tasted oddly like liver even thought they did manage to get it medium rare as I ordered (glad they had A1 sauce). The Lobster tail was tiny and just slightly overcooked, I asked for it grilled. Overall I was underwhelmed, very much so. The service on a not very busy Sunday also left something to be desired. She asked about our meal 1 minute after putting it in front of us and we never heard from her again till we asked about dessert. I am thankful my Mom paid for our lunch as I would have been not very happy to have paid for that meal. No need to return for another

I used to work at outback 15yrs ago when all their dressings and sauces were homemade and they used the paper slips to take orders. Since they have been bought out they have gone downhill... Quality is down. This is the first outback that I have been to in years and it was clean, the quality of food was great and the service was like it used to be. Happy I popped in. Will be coming to this location again

Outback steakhouse has mixed reviews on yelp, mine is one of those positive ones. I didn't expect much before I walked in, but now I'm a fan. We started with the Bloomin' onion, it's onion 'rings' but in the form of a blooming flower. It was very good, one of the top onion rings I've tried so far. The dipping sauce was very good, it's a little spicy but nothing overwhelming. Then I had their salad and soup, I ordered the creamy baked potato soup, ahh it was delicious. It is creamy but not like those creamy soups that use a ton of cream; half of the creaminess was from the baked potato. For the main course I tried the grilled chicken on the barbie, and again, it was delicious. The chicken was tender and moist, with the BBQ sauce, it was perfect. The restaurant itself was cool, pretty big with plenty of setting area. I don't know if OS is really the Australian style, but I enjoyed it and would come back.

Amazing blooming onion to start of course! Yum. Perfectly steamed veggies(still crunchy and seasoned just enough), medium rare steak was spot on and again, seasoning was not over done. Sarah was sweet and very attentive. Great service. Thanks!

Gotta admit my husband and I come here for some steaks even though we live downtown near a lot of fancy restaurants, and here's why: sometimes, you just want a reasonably-priced, well-grilled steak. I'll be honest too, I've tried the fancy downtown, $80/plate steaks, and they're just - well they're just not that much better. You're just paying for the view or the ambience, but honestly if all you want is some good steak and you don't care if there is some screaming idiotic child next to you, then this place is alright. Also their peach cocktail is all right!

Mixed review - We read and wonder then we tried it. Ok, setting is casual but price is for fine dining. Qaulity of food is surely mixed - onion bloom is very greasy, overly spiced and overly fried for sure. Our parties have ribeyes and lobster - ribeye is thin cut and not regular thick cut, rough meat, cook to your order. Lobster is considered as good as red lobsters. Prime rib - first serving was bad, first piece of the night I guess, the meat looks like it has been sitting for hours, tough eventhough it looks pink. I complained, the manager gave me a new piece and it is very satisfactory. Mash potatoes was the same, first serving was very dried like left over and after complaint, it came with nice newly cooked one. Serving is fine, not fine dine but attentive enough. For the price, I would go somewhere else.

So, my elderly cranky father demanded dinner alone with me last night ( which is not easy to accomplish, let me say). I guess he wanted some attention. I picked him up at 5:00 anticipating that I would take him to Chinese food,( which he asked for again) and thinking Jin Wah ( he's hated everything we've tried so far, or he's decided he didn't like it after the fact, so we might as well go close by)... and he says. "STEAK." Um, Dad. I don't eat beef ( ssh, you people who know I sneak out for cheeseburgers once a month). Dad, "WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT" EAT BEEF!" Not wanting to explain the whole husband who think's we're going to die from mad cow, government testing not happening thing, it's just too long for a sound bite between dad's rants, I caved. Sigh. Racked my brain for a few minutes, El Gaucho? no, too far. Ringside? no, too dark, he hates dark... Sizzler? do they even have those any more? Ok, think think think. Oh, I saw an Outback near my bagel place, ten minutes from dad's. Done. Actually it wasn't so bad. We went right to a table, Dad complained it was dark but then he stuffed warm bread and butter in his mouth and insisted I have an alcoholic beverage because he can't ... after a second of protest I chose a mojito ( it was expensive but good) and then he got his filet with mushroom sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies and ranted and raved about various problems while I sipped my mojito, ate a sweet potato and steamed broccoli, and had a very small... um.. steak. Sirloin. If you can't beat him join him. Oh well. That was my first steak in ten years, and it wasn't half bad. My sweet potato was delicious, my broccoli perfectly cooked, and my mojito made my dad less irritating. (so that was a good decision on my part). Bill came to $37 and dad paid.Sweet. I put extra money on the table to make up for his tip on the way out the door when he wasn't looking. I liked the server just fine. My dad is still tipping like it's 1970. I might want to go back there.

Piece of glass in my salad. Waiter thought it was funny. Manager asked three times if this in fact came from the salad. No, I normally keep glass shards in my picket.

The food was perfectly cooked and arrived quickly at our table. The staff was simply wonderful from the time we entered the building. My Dad is unable to get around without his walker so everyone went out of their way to assist. We never felt like we were bothersome though we held people up from time to time. Thank you to everyone who works there for making my parents 45th anniversary perfect.

My wife and I stopped at Outback for a quick dinner on our way up to visit a friend at St. V. It was about 7pm when we arrived on a Thursday and the place was over half full. We were greeted and seated quickly and offer drinks in a timely manner. After looking at the menu we decided on a Grilled Shrimp Aussie-Tizer, Steak & Lobster from the special menu and Chicken Outback Griller. The shrimp came out quickly and was tasty if a little greasy. We both like the remoulade sauce, it had a little kick to it. My wife used it on the greenery that came with the shrimp to have a small salad. I ordered my Steak medium rare and it was correctly cooked. In retrospect I probably would have been happier to get the New York Strip or the Ribeye as I'm never really happy with a sirloin due to its toughness. The flavor was good but it was tough. My fault not Outbacks. The lobster was your typical small $10 lobster. It was a little overcooked but acceptable. My sides included a Caesar salad with too much dressing and a well cooked loaded baked potato. My wife had the Outback Griller. The chicken appeared to be breast meat. It was moist and an adequate serving. But, her potato unlike mine was hard so it was either undercooked or a bad potato. In either case the person plating the potato should have caught it before it was served. If your serving 100s of potatoes every day you should be able to tell if its cooked correctly by how easily the knife cuts the potato. Overall the food was decent but not exceptional. We'll probably go back and try the happy hour but I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat at Outback.

The restaurant was recently remodeled. The menu also looked updated. We had three meals and all were terrific. The shrimp was so flavorful as was the mahi-mahi. As one reviewer stated the broccoli was fresh and very flavorful. We were too full to get dessert so that will have to be next time.

Decent service, mediocre food. Outback USED to have good quality steaks or maybe I remembered incorrectly. First of all, the location is good for out of towners and folks looking to score meth or some other illegal substance, make a craigslist drop or get robbed (I heard about this from someone serving on a Grand Jury so I know it's not just rumor). Okay, so the restaurant can't help that but they can re-engineer for brighter lighting and a food makeover. I had lamb chops which consisted of about 6oz of edible meat. I've had MUCH better lamb at places not even advertising their fleshy fare. Presentation was chops stacked with a heap of veggies on the side -- no other garnish except a small container of what was supposed to be a wine reduction. The reduction, not bad, not good, just meh. It was likely a wine reduction with some beef stock thickened with corn starch. The lamb was too small and fatty to enjoy so I'll need to get a lamb fix from Antoni's soon. Sorry Outback, I shall talk a walkabout never to return to thee.

Will not come here again. About two years ago my boyfriend and I were goin on a date. First dinner there then a movie. We were seated then no one even came to take our order or even give us water. It wasn't even a busy night and this couple came after us and was served water and ordered. When someone finally took our order we still didn't get any drinks, water NOTHING. They took close to an hour to give us our food and before we even got ours the couple that came in after us was done and out the door. It was the worst service I'd ever experience. It ruined my whole night and we never made it to the movies cause we were upset. NEVER AGAIN will I come back. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Our server was extremely nice and polite, too bad I did not catch his name but he was really kind and gave great service. Too bad the food was horrible. The restaurant is way overpriced for overall food that is not fresh or bland tasting. My fish and chips were not that great. The fries were seasoned but I'm not sure why the fish was not? I had to season my own fish with salt and pepper from the table. To me, the fish looks like frozen food and not made fresh. I could buy from Costco and make it at home. This is exactly why I do not like chain restaurants. I was just being optimistic this time, but my point was proven once again. Also, the host was super awkward and had a rude look. When I walked in, he just gave me a blank stare. I was waiting for a greeting but it was too awkward that I had to greet first because he obviously was not going to say a word and I was not about to have a staring contest when I'm extremely hungry. Host: 1 star Food: 1 star Waiter: 5 stars

For a chain restauarant, I always like Outback. I used to travel all over the country for work and could usually find one nearby my hotel. Eating well on the road is always tough but I could count on "Chicken on the Barbie". Flavorful, perfect grilled chicken and vegetables. I don't think I've ever ordered anything else here. I've probably eaten this dish 20 times. It's closest to what I'd make for myself at home...and sometimes you need that when you're on the road.

Let me just say this... I had a gift card! I went here because I had a gift card and I'm a cheap bastard... (sigh) there, I said it... I was not expecting very good food. And I have a saying for food like that. "It makes a turd." That's right people, if the food isn't the best, well, it's gonna make a turd regardless, so, it is what it is. And that's what I expected... I ordered the salmon. And it was.... delicious?! Weird! I expected it to taste like it just came out of the microwave, vegetables included, but actually the flavor was really good, and the vegetables actually tasted like they had some attention prior to making it onto my plate. :) The service was pretty good I must say. And again, this surprised me. It didn't surprise me that the manager on duty came by to ask how our meals were, blah blah blah. I think they always do that, but our waiter was very attentive and accommodating; our glasses were never empty and an empty plate never sat long. :) I guess I set the bar low with expecting food that was going to taste like a government hand-out, but it was a very pleasant experience, nonetheless. Will I be back? Most likely, but not because I'll be hankerin' for some wanna-be Aussie fair, but because his parents like to hit up this joint every now and again.

Out of the three times I've been here, two times were incredibly underwhelming. This last time was fantastic. So... not too sure. The parking lot is weird, not too great. It's almost always busy so be prepared to wait. The floor is ridiculously slippery so if you're wearing heels be very careful. It's a 50/50 with servers, two times our servers were mediocre, the last time our server was great. It's not service or atmosphere that gets me, it's the fact that half of the time the food is really poor. The two times before, the food was just okay. I went to outback in my previous area multiple times a month and ordered the same thing, so it's sad that this particular one is lacking in comparison. I ordered the outback special (as ALWAYS) and both times it wasn't cooked to specification. It wasn't seasoned very much and the sides weren't as tasty as I expected. One time the sweet potato fries were overly crispy and lacked the honey on top. The second time the mashed potatoes (that I was SO PSYCHED to have ordered again) were disgusting. They tasted moldy, or like they didn't peel the potato before they mashed it up, and it was lacking ANY added flavor. It was a mess of moldy potato innards; and I was so, soooo sad. The most recent time food was very good except... they charred the top of my steak. I HATE charred taste, I had to scrape it off of my steak to enjoy it. It was perfectly cooked and mouth watering but ew... the charr. In all, I really, REALLY miss my old Outback, which never once gave me problems with my food. I really love the food when it's actually good, and I haven't had a problem with the service. But seriously... each time I come I'm risking something on my plate not being any good. I love Outback so I will keep coming and hoping.

Our party two showed up to a slammed restaurant with dinner reservations at 7:15 PM on a Saturday night, and only waited for 10-15 min to be seated at our table. It turns out that this restaurant honors a reservation! The gentlemen who seated us was prompt, informative, polite, and responsive. Our waitress greeted us quickly, and she was extremely helpful and polite. Out appetizer showed up within 4 min. Our drinks arrived very quickly. The bread was fresh and warm, and the butter even melted on it! We took some time in ordering, but our waitress Morgan was very attentive and patient. Both my wife and I selected steak, and Morgan was even helpful enough to consult with my wife as to how well to have her steak done. As a result, my wife's steak came out beautifully. I ordered the sirloin and coconut shrimp, and both were more than adequate. Perhaps not the best of either I have had, but well worth more than the price we paid. All in all, the service was great-- at one point the manager just happened to notice that we hadn't finished our appetizer, and brought us more chips to complete it without charge; such observance is hard to find these days. Good show! The food was excellent. There are only two things that I might suggest for improvement: (1) keep the bread coming, and (2) get some better quality wines and beers for the beverage menu. I can see how this chain has enjoyed some success.... I will most certainly go back in the future! What a pleasant surprise :-)

I hadn't been to an Outback in almost 4 years, we were seated with no waiting (around 7 in a dinner rush) by a nice guy who stood out from the other servers, turns out it was Jason the general manager (always impressive when a place has active management who is not above helping their staff). I asked if they still had the blooming onion worriedly since I'd heard a rumor they'd gotten rid of it. So the manager brought one out for me right away, then our server also gave us amazing and fast service and we were checked on regularly, drinks refilled without us having to stop anyone and the food was amazing. It was a lot better than I expected from an aging restaurant chain. Thank you to the staff

Wow what a great dinner and wonderful server! Last time I ventured here, it was not so pleasant even on a less busy night. This time our server was at our table within minutes of us being seated. Bread and butter already on the table with her arrival! I've never had that brought to the table before I've ordered my meal, and the appetizer has been delivered! She was very attentive as well to what we ordered. Got our drinks quickly too. So yes very impressed by the service level this go round. We of course got the yummy bloomin onion for a starter. Then I ordered the no rules ribs with the chicken, my fiancé ordered the same only with steak. Our food was delivered on nice hot plates.( I have no clue how the waitress could carry them without a glove or something. They were that hot to the touch) The chicken was sooo flavorful and moist. Wasn't over cooked at all. My fiancé tried the steak which was pleasantly cooked to his medium request and not over done. But he said it lacked flavor, so reached for the a1 sauce to make it all better. Oh and then there was the ribs! Juicy, well seasoned, litterally fall off the bone goodness! I haven't had ribs that tender since I cooked them myself for 4 + hrs in the oven wrapped in foil. They were so good I almost ordered some to go! I know where I'm going the next time I want ribs!!! After dinner i requested my own version of a mudslide for my fiancé (1 oz vodka,1oz kalua,1 oz baileys, and 1 oz disaronno. Skip the cream and blend) and I had disaronno on the rocks. Wow is all I can say. I've never cleaned my plate before and always have left overs. This dinner was so good, I didnt even want to ruin it by sticking it in the fridge for later!

I went here for lunch on Saturday and got their blooming onion hamburger. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The burger was cooked perfectly to my liking and it almost tasted more like a hamburger steak than a burger. Of course, the blooming onion straws on the top is always great. I haven't been for dinner, but I would definitely it for lunch. I plan to go back soon.

Always get the bloomin onion, its a must. Another must if you are a drinker is the wallaby darned, it is blended with peach schnapps, peach juice and champagne....oh so good.

I hate chains, but had a fantastic steak, salad, potato and service. Will return. Gotta love the bloomin' onion!

I had never been to an Outback before my trip to this location and I have to say that I was impressed on all counts; service was amazing and friendly, the food was delicious and plentiful, the bill was reasonable and tax free (about $50 for two decent sized steaks and an appetizer) ... in short I will be coming back here for sure. For an appetizer we got the "bloomin onion" flower which was interesting and tasty. I did not know what it was when I looked at it on the menu but I was persuaded by "oh that so freaking good". We also enjoyed 2 rounds of the complimentary honey wheat bushman bread (?), which actually was "so freaking good". If you ask me I could have passed on the onion and just kept the bread coming instead. HOWever it only took about 5 minutes from ordering the onions before it was on our table. For the main course I got the victoria steak with a blue cheese crust, medium rare with a side of broccoli and mashed potatoes. The steak was amazing flavorful and tender. I think it rivaled some of the more ritzy steak houses I have been to. I have to dock a star because my girl friend's prime rib was overcooked, she asked for medium rare and got about a medium. Basically, she wanted it to be more bloody and tender . That is my only complaint and I really had to debate if it was worth losing a star over. The staff was ridiculously kind and hospitable, I think at least 3 people greeted us throughout our meal (as they brought us various foodstuff) and wished us a good one. Our waiter was attentive and unobtrusively refilled our water glasses and bread rations . Good experience all around.

2 reason why I end up here. 1) Gift card. 2) Work pays for it. The food is so-so at this location. The service is a toss up like any restaurant. I just don't' feel like they really have any thing special to offer over any other normal steakhouse. I certainly don't feel the outback vibe.

Took the girls to Outback last night for a bite to eat before heading downtown. On recommendation from a client, I ordered the 10oz Ribeye Char-style, (hich means it was cooked in their woodfire oven with an espresso rub applied to it), the broccali and the baked sweet potato. The food was all delicious and plentiful. Alas, no room for desert, even if we had shared! Our server (Jason, I think!) was great. He got everything correct and was on the ball with more bread and drink refills. Another yummy OB experience!

Went here on a Sat night....we were told the wait time would be 30-45 mins. Usually I will wait no longer than 20 mins for a restaurant but I hadn't been to Outback in a while. An hour later we are still waiting and my wife asks the hostess upfront how much longer would it be since we've been waiting a long time. Hostess said we were next in line and we had only been waiting 30 mins. Bullshit, I watched almost a whole half of football while we were waiting. Restuarant not worth the wait. Go somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I went here last night for a pre-Valentine's day dinner. We decided to get the No Worries Wednesday deal, which is a soup or salad, choice of a side and choice of an entree per person and then an appetizer or dessert to share. There was so much food! I got the sirloin steak and my boyfriend got the ribs. I asked for my steak medium well, but it came pretty much well done. That was a little disappointing, but the flavor was delicious. My boyfriend's ribs were so juicy and just fell off the bone. With all the food we had before our entrees, we could only eat half of it, so we took it home to have dinner tonight! We ordered the bloomin' onion as an appetizer and that was so good. We took half of that home, too. The service was right on. The waiter brought us more sauce for our bloomin' onion before we even asked for it. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars, is because of my steak. Otherwise, the food was great.

Everyone has been to Outback, and knows how good Outback food is. This 5-star review is for the service and friendliness we experienced with Chef Jason. He downright took care of us and our guests. We had shrimp kebobs, chicken, steak, vegetable medley, some amazing ribs, and cheesecake for dessert. The leftovers are money as well, but the really enjoyable part of our night was seeing Jason's energy and how much he cared about us having a great night. Thanks guys

First time here and was really impressive. The service was quick, professional. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, salads were fresh and bread is so soft, warm. Will be back for sure and will try some new appetizer on the house everyday.

My husband loves the ribs at the Outback. I like the Alice Springs chicken. As far as the Outback goes this place wasn't up to standard. I don't think we will return. The bottom of my chicken and my husbands ribs had large black burned patches. Charcoal is not a seasoning I enjoy. The Alice springs chicken had all the mushrooms in one lumpy spot, the bacon was too long and the cheese was too light. It was kind of weird that they would get a signature dish so wrong. The waiter was ok, seemed a little annoyed we didn't want dessert or an appetizer. It was also a bit chilly inside. We will be looking for better ribs elsewhere.

When you order carry out its like macdonalds CHECK YOU BAG twice this year we have had a messed up order, when you call they give you a free something, does that replace tonights meal when your fifteen minutes away? Why should you have to check your bag on a 75 dollar order?

I have only eaten here once. We were the only patrons 1/2 hour after opening. We ordered the Babyback Ribs and a couple of appetizers. The ribs were over done and dried out. May have been reheated from the day before. The appetizers were not even close in quality to food at other Outbacks.

How can you go wrong here? If you know what you like (I like ribeye steak and crab legs) you will NOT be disappointed. The only times I felt stiffed was when I went there trying out new stuff. Don't get chicken at a steakhouse. Our first visit to one in Portland area was a go. The staff opened the front door for us, as they were watching for customers. Outstanding. Then, the team of waitress and staff were at our beck and call all throughout the meal. That's hard to find in a chain. Our iced teas were constantly refilled. We only take off a star for the grilled onions, one of the sides we chose. They should not have been served. They were cold, oily and black with a grill taste. Yuck. But the rest of the meal was so good. We don't do drinks anymore so you can't make us forget little things in the kitchen. The steak was perfectly cooked, but next time I'll go medium instead of medium rare. And it was a GOOD piece of meat, well-marbled, without odd veins of gristle you sometimes get at large steakhouses using cheap cuts. No gristle. And the crab legs? OH MY GOSH. Perfectly cracked for ease of extraction, perfectly fresh (frozen of course, we expected that) and no ammonia or off smells or tastes. I've been to other seafood chains, one of which we all know, and Outback is hands down better at seafood than they are. My baked potato was a revelation. I suppose if you bake them 100 times a day you get good at it. The butter and sour cream and bacon and green onions oh my! Hubby got a small steak and the crab legs, and with all that I think we were at fifty bucks. Not bad for the quality. Once a year splurge! The manager came over to us at the end and we discussed their quality and she gave us a coupon for a free appetizer (blooming onion) on our next visit. Thanks! And they offered to comp us for the onion side dish. We declined but nice to know they were willing. Great job you guys.

I have visted the Outback Steakhouse in Clackamas several times. Reservations (503) 775-8977 The food at Outback usually lacks orginality but is stellar in quality and presentation. My favorite appetizer is the coconut shrimp. It will set you back 9 dollars tho. I enjoy it because of the sweet sauce and the soft battered shrimp (6 total) that literally melts in your mouth. I'm not a fan of any of the chocolate or cheesecakes. The chocolate for some desserts tend to be very rich and thick. The cheesecake was the same way... thick and heavy. More like gelatin than cheese. Sides? I think the wild rice lacks a little flavor and could use a little more water. At times I felt like I was eating rocks. You can't go wrong with the steamed vegetables. I have yet to see them do anything fancy that would screw it up. The steak is served plain, you'll have to ask for sauce and you do not get much of an option here either. (I have yet to try all their steak dishes.) Once I asked for well done and got medium instead! The outsides were cooked well but the middle was still soft and pink. Wait is that medium? Aw who the hell knows!? The chicken I think is what they do very well, like the grilled chicken which is served very moist and tender. And its got that grill afterburn taste to it. MMMmm. The atmosphere is cool enough to take a date or take the kids to. There is a mini mama kangaroo behind the counter, boomerangs on the wall, knives sticking out of the wall. And no, the music is not from the soundtrack of crocodile dundee, Its actually pop rock. Go figure. The BEER! Foster comes in two sizes 16 and 20. About 5 bucks, cheaper to buy it at Safeway! However the Mixed drinks are ok. The Holiday mixed drink specials are fun. Did you know there is a starbucks coffee flavored liquor? I didn't, get it at outback. Bar is usually empty, run your tab for hour and you'll see why. Yes they are TVs. And who can forget that jingle? Lets go outback tonight.... (sing it!) See the commerical youtube.com/watch?v=0Mvm… Lets go outback tonight. I would gave this place 3 stars but I have to give it 4 for the jingle. I'm softy.

It is on par with the chain as a whole, we still love our favorite non menu item, the Bushman Shrooms. My stake definitely came back medium to done instead of medium rare, so be specific when ordering.

They open the door for you when you come in, if it's not busy, and the service is really good and fast. But they better be for the prices you're paying for. I know this is a steakhouse, but we got salads (to try and make up for the Bloomin Onion we also ordered) for $14 and they were crap. The Bloomin Onion was also overdone and a lot smaller than I remember. Beer's good though. Won't be coming back till either the prices get better or we get richer.

Well, it's a nice place. defiantly not the best steaks we ever had...portions are big, the blooming onion was so-so...It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't particularly good.

  • Chris H.

Good place to get a decent steak. I always order the 7oz Victoria with a salad and baked potato and that fills me. Like all outbacks the place is dark and the lights above the tables hang low. The place does get packed but what you need to do is call ahead and make a reservation when you go in let the guy know you called. This way you get a table before anyone else.

I did it, I BROKE. I caved in. I fell off the wagon. I said FUCK IT and wrapped my claws around red meat...again! And what better place to do it than here....well, I was looking for a Brazilian steak house...that would have been the ideal hunting ground...but I was a hungry Lioness and wanted blood NOW! So I ate here. Yeah, yeah it's a chain and blah blah.... But, it was GOOD steak. The sides were awesome...garlic mashed potatoes, flavorful shrooms, grilled onions....yum. Then the regret of my kill settled in after the meal. O'well whatever...life goes on...well atleast mine does;-)

I went there for the first time to celebrate a friends birthday. The hostess was so terribly rude to me, I was afraid it would ruin my entire evening. Thankfully it didn't. The food was delicious and the blooming onion, on my that was so yummy to my taste buds. Reasonably price. Great service. But seriously work on your people who are greeting your customers. First impression is everything and the second I walked in the door the hostess was not friendly, very short with me and plain rude. I hope she isn't working there anymore because everything else was great!

Hate to admit trying this place more than once. Wanting a steak and a beer and feeling down under after ingesting the Aussie seasoning that covers everything but the beer.

It's just like most other chains. Pretty decent food, not priced to match the quality but still not bad. My baked potato was really boring (.. ok seriously? how do you make a boring baked potato??) but my steak was good and my broccoli was surprisingly yummy. The beer was expensive, I was annoyed when I got my bill (because of course they don't put the price in the menu) but it was a pretty solid, not terrible chain experience.

I've been here twice over the last couple years and both times my experience has been better than expected for a run-of-the-mill national chain A clean, newly renovated location, the service was friendly and prompt, and the food was tasty and hot. It's easy to nitpick an Outback or other chain joint but this just is simply one of the good ones.

I usually really like Outback but we had a ridiculous experience this evening that I simply could not turn a blind eye to. The food was fine but the service was so bad its worth driving to another location. We arrived at about 7 pm and were asked to wait about 10 minutes. This was perfectly reasonable and we gladly enjoyed the water that was offered in the lobby. The trouble started when we first met our waiter. While I didn't catch his name, the poor man was either new, overwhelmed, or on drugs. Every step of the meal was riddled with mistakes. For example, it took him about 10 minutes to come ask us for our drink order. I ordered a peach mojito and my boyfriend ordered a diet coke. When my mojito came, it wasn't the peach one I had ordered but since I didn't dislike it, I decided not to mention it. For the rest of the night, my boyfriends soda and my water went without refill and I was never offered another mojito. Next, we ordered a blooming onion. When he took our order, our waiter asked if he could bring us fresh bread. We told him yes. About ten minutes later a completely different server came back with our onion but no bread or drink refills. She also didn't offer us any appetizer plates. We didn't see our original waiter the entire time we ate the onion (almost 15 minutes) and it took another server until about five minutes after we had finished it to come take the plate. We never did receive appetizer plates. After the other server had cleared our table, our original waiter came back and once again asked us if we would like bread. He seemed to have no recollection of asking us earlier in the evening. We once again told him yes and since he hadn't offered, my boyfriend had to ask for a refill. This time, our waiter came back with the bread but no refills. A different server delivered our entrees and our waiter pulled another disappearing act for 15 -20 minutes. When he did come back, he asked us how our meal was (we'd finished) and asked if we wanted dessert. When I declined he asked if I'd "hit the outback limit" and patted his stomach. I'm not sure if that is a company joke but I found it in poor taste. It total we were in the restaurant over an hour and a half. It was busy but not packed and I simply cannot understand the reason we received such bad service. Had I seen a manger on duty, I would have complained but since I didn't, I was content to just get out of there before anything else went wrong.

Asked prior to ordering....do you have very rare prime rib? Waitress--Who was great ....checks. "Yes we do." I order it. Comes out MEDIUM. Then they offer a rib eye. Which I would never have ordered as they never get it rare. It comes out with manager...who explains his kitchen manager made the call on the prime rib (Which tells me he or she has no culinary training) and as he sits at our table--a practice I hate from outback--we aren't friends, so don't sit with me without invitation. After informing me that this steak is truly rare (wrong again.) He asks "How is the steak?" By now my hubby is half done w his meal. I am not sending it back for a second time. I mutter "Okay" and we decide to take me to Mcdonalds afterwards. Orrrrr...somewhere. Training, training, training. Why can't you get a blue rare steak in Oregon. Gosh I miss Vegas. Just the food. ...not the traffic. Or the noise or heat. But ohhhhh the food. And my Outback on Craig Road. Addition: When we left and went elsewhere...(Copper River in Hillsboro) my husband said "My steak was too well done too, but yours was so bad I wanted them to fix yours more." Even after they removed my steak it was 40 bucks plus tip--and we had to go spend 30 more to feed me elsewhere. Ridiculous.

My family and I stopped here to eat on a Friday night (2 adults, 2 kids). We thought we went early enough to beat the crowds, but I guess 5pm is right in the middle of dinner time. It was super busy, with a 40 minute wait. They said we could sit in the bar at a booth, but the waiting people were seriously aggressive and rude (which isn't the fault of the restaurant, granted). It was crowded, other customers were very unfriendly, and the prices were high for the quality of what we received. The main reason I'm putting a low score, is because I asked my waitress to bring me lettuce without the carrots and cabbage mixed in due to allergies to those...she said the lettuce was already premixed and when I asked her to at least try to pick out some plain lettuce she stated that the kitchen was too busy to even try to pick out some of the lettuce from the mixed in bin. As a person who has worked in the kitchen, the bags come separated, and if they truly wanted to, they could open a new bag of just lettuce. I understand it's busy...but when you flat out refuse a legitimate request...not cool. However, it wasn't all bad. The kids liked their food, and the drinks were very tasty (I had a Strawberry Sangria...which they allowed us to get in on Happy Hour even though we didn't order til 5 min after it ended since we waited so long), and other than the special request refusal, the waitress was exceptionally nice and returned to the table often to take care of any continuing needs we had, which was especially nice due to how busy it was.

Excellent service great food, ordered from the happy hour menu expecting small portions, but I was wrong, the salad was1/2 the full menu size and sirloin sandwich was the regular size. The salad was fresh and the sandwich was delish!!! Happy I stopped in. Recommended

My partner and I go here when we are craving some steak but just don't want to cook. It's never let us down. Service has always been great, food is good and reasonably priced. We've been five or six times to this location and never had a disappointing experience

Outback Steakhouse is just about a waste of time and money. The food here is definitely not worth taking time out of your day to go have an over cooked steak (ordered medium-rare and got well done) for $20. The only reason I gave it a two is because it had good service. I will not be coming back here for a long time. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Excellent meal. Two adults and two teenage boys were well fed by enjoying delicious steaks. The blue cheese wedge salad was perfectly put together and the flavors were very complimentary. The Caesar salad had plenty of garlic and was also pleasing to the eye. Three of us had sirloins and one boy had a New York strip. We would all order the same items again given the chance.

We always have nice servers at Outback-- but tonight we had Patrick P. and he was the BEST! Went in for dinner date with my husband-- I got 6oz Victoria's filet mignon with broccoli and a salad, he got baby back ribs and we got a blooming onion. The food was cooked perfectly to my request, and came out nice and hot. I wanted my steak well done no pink-- perfectly juicy and cooked through. The ribs were also juicy and the meat just falling right off the bone-- delicious! It was busy as Outback is running a special meal deal Thurs-Sun I believe, but the wait time for out food was not bad at all. But really more about our server-- Patrick was incredible! He was so fast to refill drinks, he was super polite and friendly, and had a great sense of humor. I can only hope we have a chance to sit at his table again, he was a fantastic server!

My spouse and I decided to visit this restaurant due to having a gift card, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and staff compared to what I expected. I ordered a half-rack of baby back ribs, and my spouse ordered a chicken dish. I was surprised to find that the ribs fell off the bone, and all the meat was tender and flavorful. The barbeque sauce was sufficiently supplied without being sauce soup. My spouse's chicken was decent, but kind of tough. We planned to share with each other anyway, so it wasn't a giant deal. The flavor was okay, and the "aussie" fries were pretty good for both our dishes. I forget the waitress we had, but she was constantly available to fill our drinks and offer more bread prior to receiving our main dishes. She wasn't over bearing in coming by to ask how it was tasting, or belaboring the check with dessert requests. Overall a very good experience.

The server Reggie was horrible. He pretty much was lacking in all aspects. My mom and I had the steak and lobster. The lobster was over cooked and the steak was tasteless. Hers came with broccoli, which you can tell was frozen. She couldn't even bite through it. So when she told the waiter, instead of asking my mom if she wanted something else. He argued and brought her out more broccoli. 5 minutes later the manager brings more broccoli. Seriously, the last thing she wants now is broccoli, after it was so gross. My daughter ordered the outback steak and asked for it medium. The waiter refused to give my child a medium steak. The steak was so overcooked, dry and chewy, it was pretty much inedible. Well after a bill of over $100, we can say that we will never be back. This is why I am not a fan of chain restaurants. STAY AWAY!!!

If you'r hungry... I received a wonderful mid-afternoon dinner here today: a great lobster with a perfect filet and remarkably perfect veggies. This location is not in my normal travels but I'll make special out-of-my-way visits hoping they repeat. Also well served. Scott

I was craving ribs on a Sunday afternoon and they were the closest place. I was surprised I had never been to Outback Steakhouse before and I think I know why! We walked in and there was no host and the walk-in area was being renovated I think? So the area had bare wood exposed and just looked really weird. No signs whatsoever to let us know what was going on. We thought they were closed! Only a few groups of people were dining there that day, but it felt like a ghost town. I ordered ribs for myself, junior ribs for our son (1 year old) and my boyfriend ordered a medium well sirloin steak. My ribs were OK maybe cuz I've been craving them, but really not all that great. My son's junior ribs were even worse. So dry and he couldn't even chew it at all (and trust me, he can chew some pretty tough meat). My boyfriend's sirloin steak was the worst - bland and hard, can't even fix it with salt and pepper. Then a couple ants showed up and we didn't want to just move to another table (that would require hauling everything) so we just got our check and the rest of our food to go. The service was alright, so I tipped the usual 15%, but seriously expected much better from this place.

After having a gift card sit in my purse for close to two years, we finally decided to return to Outback (just to use it up). To my surprise, the food was delicious, and the service outstanding. We ordered a hamburger, chicken sandwich, kids ribs and kids mac and cheese, and everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. The host who sat us was amazingly friendly, and our waitress was very attentive. We didn't have to wait to be seated (although we arrived shortly before 5 pm.) The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food is SO high in calories. I still have no idea how my basic hamburger (no cheese, no sauce) is over 600 calories (not including the side). Also, they don't really seem prepared for kids (for all that the food was good) because they have no utensils that are appropriate for them. The spoon they gave my 2 year old to use on his mac and cheese was bigger than a regular adult soup spoon. When we asked for something else, we found out that the only other options were a disposable spoon (the same size as the soup spoon) or a teaspoon with an extra long handle (way too difficult for the little guy to manage). He ended up just eating the food with his hands, but at least he enjoyed the taste!

I was interested to find out that apparently you CAN have a really dry medium steak... Was hoping that my last few poor steaks would be anomalies...but it's really not worth wasting your money. You'd be better served saving up your pennies for a really amazing steak experience at one of the prime houses downtown.

I have always had a pretty good experience here. We're always able to find a seat in the bar area and the food is consistently good. I was here recently for a late lunch with the sweetheart and his mom. The service was good. I thought everything was spaced out pretty well and our waitress was great. I like my steak rare and this was perfect. Not a lot of places can cook a good rare steak. I opted for the seasoned and seared. Next time I'll try the grilled. I really enjoyed the wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing. I don't care for bleu cheese but this was tasty. The whole dining experience was very pleasant. I will definitely come back here again. Perhaps this time indulge in appetizer and dessert.

Ordered couple of dishes: Burger Bloomin: It was good (my wife liked it). [next time we should get their famous Bloomin Onion dish] Grilled Chicken on the barbie & Unlimited Shrimp (garlic herb butter - The shrimp was very good... they kept it coming as it was unlimited. Chicken was good too, but would have preferred it a bit juicier. Their fries were awesome, Rice pilaf side was okay. Service was okay... Though they were in construction on the exterior, it did not seem to affect the interior decors, etc. Would visit them again.

Yeah it's a chain that you can find all over the U.S. of A - but five stars because it's steak. Good steak, consistent steak and for a great price. I have been to fancier steakhouses which I will not knock, except they knock you over with the price! Since I'm no Bill Gates, Outback is my go to place if I'm craving the red meat. We typically get the Bushman shrooms (off menu for some reason, but always available). Entree's always include steak and the lobster if they have that sweet special for under $20 bucks. I have yet to have a poorly cooked steak here. It can get busy but service is generally on the mark. Add a huge mug of beer & this is my man heaven.

We went to this location because it was close to my family's home. Though the decor is dated (compared to Hawaii locations) it's clean and well kept. I got there pretty early in the evening, 5:30, we had children with us.The service was very fast and the prime rib was good and tasty. Good steak at a great price for a sit down restaurant. Don't expect it to be like eating Kobe beef for what you're paying! Would go again.
