GrindHouse Coffee is the perfect addition to this North Portland neighborhood. I finally got up in time to walk down the street last Saturday morning for my first visit. Best latte I've had in a really long time! Fantastic location, food looks great (looking forward to trying it out next time). I hope word travels fast; this place is fabulous!

Grindhouse Coffee is the best brew in North Portland and likely anywhere in Portland. Let me make it very simple. Grindhouse has it all. Devastatingly delicious coffee, super chill staff, reasonable prices and awesome snacks. It has quickly become the go to coffee spot for my partner and I. Chain coffee shacks are fine in a pinch, but if you want a cup of Joe that's actually tasty and skillfully prepared, drive however far you need to for Grindhouse.

excellent coffee Knowledgable & Kinda owner Friendly & satisfing staff I had some friends visiting town & decided to surprise them with coffee in the am. Upon my return with coffee for my visitors, the coffee snob among them was very impressed by its quality and flavor. The Bean they use is from Extracto Coffee Roasters. It's consistency in quality is among the reasons that the coffee served here is so sexy...

I'd never been before today. Showed up right at closing time, but no problem. Triple espresso with ceramic cup & saucer. All smiles and courteous service from owner. I came a little to take a photo of stained-glass wall that makes up side wall of patio area. Owner was coming out, leaving for the evening,"Yeah, Grandpa does all the stained-glass." Nice local flavor for North Portland neighborhood. Who needs corporate coffee, right?

I love this coffee shop!!! My first introduction to Extraco Roasters and excellent preparation by the awesome stuff. Couple that with super cool coffee stand ambiance and the mini street lamp out front and you have the perfect way to spend Sunday morning sipping a coffee in the sun.

Best toddy in town. Plus delish veggie options for a quick breakfast and the most amazing $.75 cookies. Friendly staff, friendly patrons.

My neighborhood coffee house. Amanda and her team are awesome people. They recognize you and are friendly. It is obvious she is proud of her place and takes good care of her equipment. the coffee is beautiful, you don't want to put a lid on it when you take it to go, but most importantly the coffee is delicious. I will continue to ensure her success by regularly getting my coffee their.

Easily the best coffee in my neck of the woods. I took a quick look at the other reviews here and I concur, superior product and excellent staff. I've tried almost all the other coffee shops in my neighborhood, and some of them are above average, but this is the place I usually hit 9 times out of 10. Great work!

The women here do good work making great coffee. This no frills walk up (well, there is a little outdoor space heater and a spot to sit for a spell) gets you your quad shot on the double so you can hurry up and pop in for tacos next door.

My favorite coffee stop. They carry Extracto coffee, which is currently (and has been for about a year) my favorite roaster in town. They make a fantastic cappuccino that is always worth getting up early for. Amanda is great and the rest of the staff is equally as rockin' cool. One caveat - if there is a line, expect to wait. Give yourself 10 extra minutes if you are stopping before work. They craft each drink as it is ordered and will take as long as needed to make that little cup-of-lovely into pure liquid perfection. PS: They have great bagels and bagel sammies if you are hungry. PPS: The only Gluten Free menu item for food is the Yogurt and fruit. I would love a GF muffin or something, but I also understand I'm a gastronomical anomaly among most of the clients and am likely the only one who looks for that.

That didn't take very long, did it? Amanda has officially overthrown my love for Stumptown. Don't get me wrong, I still drink Stumptown. HOWEVER If I'm in the mood for espresso (or chai or bagel or scone), it's in between the hours of 7am and 3pm (Monday-Sunday now!), and I'm in the neighborhood? Done, done, and done. She's a pro. She knows my drink after only a few times ordering it. She handles a group of food and drink orders gracefully. Pulling shots and making scrambled eggs like she had four arms instead of two. It's clear she's garnering a following, and I'm glad I can be apart of it.

It's nice to feel sexy when you drink your coffee, or drink coffee that thinks it's sexy. Not sure who is the sexy, but the sign says it so it must be true. This place is killer. The people that were working (owners?) were fast and very friendly, and actually acted like they weren't pissed to be at work or too cool to make me a cup of coffee. They have breakfast sandwich options which is a huge bonus, because there aren't a lot of places that serve a good breakfast without either a line or are open more than 3 days a week. They have covered seating which consists of about 4 tables and some benches. The community bulletin board gave me some things to do on a perfect spring day with no plans. . The plain buttered bagel was awesome, however... Next time I'm getting the egg sandwich.

Cute menu and nice covered outdoor seating area. Something I did not notice while glancing over the reviews is that it is ONLY outdoor seating, so come prepared if you wanna hang out. Strong lattes, and good bagels... nothing to complain about here!

dang that's a good mocha..iced or hot, good good stuff and the ladies are nice....the bagel sammie for breakfast was quite good, but man the pastries are pretty gnarly...highly suggest switching to a better bakery, the spinach croissant in particular was really, especially bad.

I love me some sexy coffee! Amanda is awesome, the place is super cool (love that stained glass!), and the coffee rocks. I may move to Portland just to live closer to this joint. I bought beans to take home, which are incredible in my moka pot. Oh, and the Stud Muffin kicked my hangover's ass.

must admit, i was a sucker for the, "SEXY COFFEE" sign. the bagels and staff are equally sexy. seriously, they (almost) always make the best latte, are ALWAYS super friendly, and conveniently located on my drive to work.

Awesome coffee? Check. (From Extracto). Awesome bagel sandwiches? Oh, absolutely. Cute coffee cart with great food/snack options.

The sad thing about how much I love this place is that there are around 5000 miles for me to get the best chai tea I've tasted in my life, not to mention the egg and cheese bagel. I have Michelle H to blame for my love of this place. She's opened the door and shown me what non Starbucks chai is and I want more. We're seriously deprived here in the UK when it comes to good places to get chai (Starbucks is the only place I've come across that does it). I have two choices: get Grindhouse Coffee over to the UK or move to Portland. Hmm.

Great service, great location, great coffee, great hours and great pastry and good options. I especially find their friendly staff welcoming and warm. I can bring my dog and daughter in the early morning hour of 7am to enjoy a coffee and not feel like I'm inconveniencing anyone including patrons, since the seating is outdoors. I love everything about this place.

Perfectly fine coffee, great service, and an adorable little walk up stand. Their bagel breakfast sandwiches are tasty and I hear they their pastries are delivered fresh daily! I just wish they had a greater selection of pastries, I'm starting to realize I might be too picky about my pastries, but I haven't been able to find something that suits my fancy here. That, and I know, I know, most of those legit, authentic, whatever coffee shops have pure and authentic coffee beverages, not all the sugary hyped crap. But I do like yummy flavored lattes, and they only have a few standard flavors. So for that reason I find myself traveling a little further down the block to order up a brown sugar, or banana foster, or whatever else kind of crazy drink I can think of. If you're not demanding like myself and prefer just a regular latte, mocha, coffee, etc. this place will probably be just right!

The BEST tiny coffee shop in NoPo. Their breakfast sammies are amazing as well.

Great coffee, friendly service, and an awesome environment for those who love NW weather. Oh, and these aren't Portland prices! The place is wonderfully, affordably, refreshingly priced. I don't think you could want more in a coffee shop.

This place is my new Saturday go to coffee spot. It's a really small place on the outdoor seating but the coffee is good and the breakfast sandwich I had was great.

It should never take this long to pour a cup of house coffee. You'd be better off harvesting your own coffee beans as it would probably be faster than ordering from this place. Barista: "Oh, did I not give you your coffee yet?" Me: "...no". You could save yourself some time and bad Yelp reviews by letting people pour their own house coffee, like the 3 other places within walking distance of your shop.

Stopped by after seeing the sign for Sexy Coffee. Extracto Beans for the drinks and nice friendly vibe. If this place had a view and indoor seating option (it's a little chilly this morning) it would have a solid 5 stars. I'll be back the next time I am in the neighborhood!

Must have coffee. I love this place so much that I even went out of my way for it the other day. I may live in Washington but I'm willing to go the distance for a good latte and maybe even a good cranberry orange scone or sesame bagel! During July I was spoiled with GrindHouse. I was going so frequently that Amanda remembered what I ordered. Nothing like being asked "The usual?" as soon as you round the corner. I was even going so often that I started noticing other regulars! Looks like others know where to find a good cup of coffee too! The menu is great. I am always tempted to try more than just the scone or bagel but I cant tear myself away from those choices. There are scrambles, cinnamon rolls, and muffins for food plus other coffees and teas. If only I could get a latte from here everyday...

It's great when you can confirm what ALL the reviewers are saying: I love Stumptown, but I like Extracto better. If you're on Rosa Parks Way you need to stop at the Sexy Coffee sign. When I make a trip out of the hood I usually brew my own to take along on the ride ... unless I'm going by Amanda's place, then its Extracto time. It's a must stop place.

Grindhouse... otherwise known as Sexy Coffee to those of us who drive by on Rosa Parks every day.... is phenomenal! The americano was clean and bold- just the right punch without being overpowering. And the soy cappuccino was exquisite with velvety smooth foam the likes of which can only be produced by a seasoned barista-veteran. Sometimes I think the people in Portland have an irrational love of Stumptown. I love it too... but not unconditionally. I've had so many watery, taste-less Stumptown drinks! Quality coffee doesn't ensure a quality beverage. Grindhouse has both excellent beans (locally roasted Extracto) and the skill to coax them, fully flavored, to your cup. I love that this place is on my daily commute. Thank you Amanda for your excellent coffee and for your artisan work!
