Great food. Big portions. I love the sweet and sour chicken and bbq pork. I'll definitely be going back. Very friendly staff. Egg flower soup was very tasty too.

My friends and I eating at Asia Kitchen, the food is very amazing, and the sauce is homemade and all natural taste and no MSG add.

How on earth this place get's more than 1 star is beyond me. I could go on a rant but Christina L. and Matt covered it pretty well. It's filthy, rundown, there's food in open boxes in unoccupied booths, the food is an abomination that I wouldn't feed to animals and the attitude is astonishingly rude. They pretend to not understand when you ask a question about the food yet become surprisingly literate when it's time to take your money. I was told by one waitress that they prepare most of the food one day and keep serving it for days until they run out. Yeah, it's pretty horrible. But Yelp doesn't provide for negative star ratings...

Ok, this place has really good food but just isn't in a good area. Also, it's not too clean in there.

This place is the WORST meal I have EVER had, hands down!! I literally spit my food into my napkin upon the 1st bite. I don't know what these fools that rated this place good are smoking, but I sure want some if it made the food taste good. Our first clue should have been how run down it looked when we pulled up, but we aren't from Oregon, so we had no clue....we were going off the Zagat ratings we read online. (i thought my fiance said "Asian" Kitchen so it didn't come up on Yelp). The 2nd clue should have been the 2 druggie looking guys walking out as we were entering, complaining about the cost of the food. It doesn't stop there though....we finally get seated in the almost empty restaurant and the waitress brings us tap water, no ice, apparently they are out. Nice. So then we finally place an order, she brings out our egg flower soup, not so bad right? WRONG!! I go to take a bite and the chicken is gray, still has fat attached, and just looks plain nasty. Not only that she brings my kids some crispy noodles to dip in the soup, I grab one, eat it....and then my friend goes "she just got those noodles out of that open box on that booth seat over there." Thanks for telling me BEFORE I put it in my mouth!! The noodles really were just sitting on the seat, in a box, no lid, or covering.....smh!! So our potstickers come, and they are mostly edible, other than the SUPER salty dipping sauce with 1/4 inch of oil floating on the top. So after all these clues that maybe, just maybe, our meal wasn't going to be up to par, and maybe we should have hightailed it after the soup and noodles.....our food comes. Now we ordered a decent spread of pork fried rice, chow mein (whatever the special was with shrimp, chicken, pork, etc.), orange chicken, and mu shu pork. Then my friend ordered her own combo plate with sesame chicken, fried rice, mongolian beef, and crab puffs. So my fiance dishes up some rice, takes a bite, and his face falls. The rice is dry, bland, and just plain gross. So I take a bite and it tastes like moth balls, 1st spit into the napkin occurs. She brings out the orange chicken, and there's this opaque looking sauce on it, now normally when i order orange chicken somewhere, its a rich, brownish, transparent type of sauce. So i stick my fork in the sauce and taste.....it tastes like straight up ORANGE JUICE mixed with sugar!!! So finally she brings out the mu shu pork and the chow mein. I look at the mu shu and I was like if this doesn't taste good, its over. I take a bit on my fork, put it in my mouth, 2nd spit into the napkin occurs!! It tasted burnt for one, and just nasty for two. After that I was like, I'm not even putting that chow mein in my mouth, especially since i don't like shrimp. Now my friend was a little more forgiving, she ate her sesame chicken, which by the way was just breaded, fried chicken with sesame seeds in the batter. No sauce, no nothing. And she also ate her mongolian beef, which was not good to me. Her rice was the same as ours, and the crab puffs were all cream cheese, NO crab!! So after all this, the waitress comes over, we tell her nothing is good, just bring the check. My fiance was still going to pay even though nothing was edible, and we were just going to leave and chalk it up to experience. So she asks us if we want boxes and were like "if we aren't going to eat it here, why are we going to take it home and eat it?" and she goes "well all restaurants cook different" and walks away. So my friend was like oh no, you aren't paying for food that's inedible, and goes up to the counter. She tells the lady how all our food tasted and goes "why does your orange chicken taste like orange juice?" And the lady says "oh we use an orange juice base." So my friend says "like Sunny D?" And she goes "oh just whatever is on sale." Really?? Gross....you made my chicken with Sunny D???? So after a little bickering back and forth, the lady in the back, who doesn't speak english is still insisting we have to pay. My friend goes "ok, here's the deal, we ate the potstickers, i ate half of my plate, and we ordered 2 beers, that's $25. Here's your $25, no tip, I'm not paying you anymore." And with that we walked out the door.... Sorry for the longest review ever, but really, don't go to this place, ever. I hadn't even started about the bathrooms.....lets just say they were so dirty I told my daughter to stand on the toilet seat and squat, and she wouldn't even do that, AND there was no TP!!!! If I could give this place negative stars, I would!! Save yourself the trouble.......

I've been here dozens of times and keep going back. Once in a while the food isn't up to snuff, but that's a rare happening. Their hot and sour soup is simply wonderful. The Mar-far chicken is very good, and happily, I never leave hungry.

If you love traditional american chinese food, this place is AWESOME!! Be sure to order your chow mein subgum style, with chinese noodles. Delish! My husband has been going here since he was a child. I started going after we started dating. Unfortunately, we only get to eat here when we visit relatives in Oregon, as we live up in Washington. Great fried shrimp and sweet and sour too. I'm drooling just thinking about it...we always order extra when we go, so we can take some back to Washington with us. They recently renovated their seating, so it is more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing (now it is casual inside, instead of dive-y).

Sweet Jesus, this was terrible. I ordered a dish with chicken and vegetables. The sauce was thin, greasy and tasteless, the vegetables were soggy and unfresh, and the chicken was of such poor quality that it was inedible. This was easily worst meal I haven't eaten in a long time. I suppose if sweet & sour chicken is your bag this place won't bother you, but for anyone who is looking for a decent stir fry, you'd best move along.

This little place is pretty good. I used to get it to go all the time. While waiting I would watch them make the food. The sweet and sour chicken was our favorite. I would always order the chicken with the sauce on the side. You get a heaping carton...and I do mean heaping, they stuff it so full they use a staple to keep it shut...and a small carton of sweet and sour sauce on the side. The service is pretty good while the setting is a little to be desired. That is why we usually got our food to go. The staff is helpful. They usually have a lunch special that is dine-in only. We wanted to go, so the waitress told us to sit at a table and order our meal, and as soon as she place the plate on the table, she would then take our food and put it in to go boxes. That's what I call service. The reason for past tense, is cause I don't eat meat anymore.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
