Delicious! We had the taco salad and super burrito and both had fantastic flavors. The owner was very helpful and made sure we had the best. This casual place is fast. Is worth the drive into Philomath from Corvallis

Usually love this place but service seemed off today. Got questioned when I ordered salsa on the side rather than in my burrito, and they forgot my sour cream.

Most menu items are decent but they strangely have no grilled jalapenos or spicy carrots and the burritos are all rice. I mean, the burrito was huge but every bite was a mouthful of rice. I realize burritos aren't typically Mexican but ease up on the starch and be a bit more generous with the protein. Americans are fat enough as it is. Pros: cold beer Cons: did I mention rice?

Been here many times over the years, and they always come through with quality, generous portions of authentic Mexican food. It is a family run restaurant, and I love supporting local small businesses. Went again this weekend and had a Carnitas Super Burrito with no guac, and it was delicious! I highly recommend stopping here if you're ever in town.

This place is the best authentic Mexican in the Philomath/Corvallis area; my family lives in Philomath and we have been going here for years. Although I am not the biggest fan of burritos and never had one here (my mom and brother swear by them), I loooove the tacos. They are traditional and authentic. Last time I was here I had the carnitas, carne asada and lengua tacos....delish! Go here. The price is right and the food is excellent.

The Philomath La Rockita is where it's at. If you are hungry get the veggie or super burrito. If you're just slightly hungry then get two or three tacos. The flavor in the meat and beans are really good and better than other La Rockitas around, I think.

The chicken burrito is superb. Better than Chipotle, Moe's or Tijuana Flats. Fast, friendly service, with down to earth employees. 10/10 would eat again.

Excellent and very large burritos! I come here often and love the spicy pork and chicken. Family run and friendly!

6 stars. This is the original La Roca - or La Rockita as it is now called. They now have restaurants in Corvallis, Newport, Tangent and Eugene, and maybe others that I don't know about. This place is awesome. Best burritos I've had hands down. I live in California now but when I come home I almost always get at least one burrito. I've never been to another place that comes close to La Roca. I always get the super chicken burrito. It has rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, salsa, chicken, and probably some other stuff. When I was in high school and on the swim team I would get the Super Grande - their biggest burrito. It has 3 kinds of meat (chicken, beef, and spicy carnitas). Me and my friends were curious so we weighed one - 2.0 lbs. Almost a kilo of goodness. The only downside is that they aren't super cheap anymore, but they are still very affordable and they also moved from a little shack to a full-fledged restaurant, so I'm sure their lease went up. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

edit: After writing this, I realized that Yelp is still calling the 9th street location 'La Roca' ... it is going by the name La Rockita now too. Same people - presumably similar food. The pros: Great prices, wonderful food, great staff. The cons: The 9th street location I've been two twice has no air conditioning (or didn't). After eating there last summer, I swore never to go back, it was so unpleasantly hot. However, I ate there again and had some really awesome Chili Verde Enchliadas - they were on special. They were some of the best mexican fare I can recall ever eating. So - 1 star for the first time, 5 stars for this last time = 3 stars. I'll update again later if I get a chance to go again. Hopefully it'll be cool inside. Or, I'll just have to be sure not to go on very hot days. :)

I love YELP for finds like La Rockita. Perfect stop on way back from Oregon Coast. Super friendly, clean, fast service and EXCELLENT burrito. The spicy pork is delish. Just the right amount of spice and not fatty at all. Very yummy. I cant wait to go back and try the Chile Relleno and tacos. MUCH BETTER THAN CHIPOLTE.

Excellent! I have been enjoying their food for years at several different locations and appreciate finding a way to share.

I always get the same thing, veggie burrito. I like that I have access to cheap and fast "real" Mexican food within 5 mins of where I live. Service isn't great. You have to try for yourself.

Great pastor tacos, we stopped at this little place on our way home from the beach, I'm glad I found it but wish there was one closer to home.... now I just dream about the tacos. It will be a regular stop everytime I go to the beach from now on.

Fresh looking and tasting food at great prices. We had veggie burrito and pastor taco based on prior recommendations. The pastor taco was excellent. The veggie burrito was good also, but the taco out shined it. I would like to try the fajitas next time. Very clean place with friendly service. Kind of a double or triple storefront format of restaurant.

Coming to Oregon from Texas, I searched for a long time before finding this fine burrito shack (now actually a storefront) and thus slaking my thirst (resolving my hunger?) for Mexican food. A carnitas torta or burrito (the small is plenty big) washed down with a Jamaica aqua fresca makes for a tasty and cheap meal. If you're on your way to the coast from Corvallis, or back from a hike up Mary's Peak, stop in.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
