As you can see from my reviews, i say it how it is. This place rocks. Looks like a hole in the wall (kind of). I am truly impressed. I will eat here every time i come to Pendleton. I had the seafood combo # 51. My wife had # 52 original Thai cashew, which is deep fried prawns and mixed vegies in a Thai sauce. Mine was excellent but hers was out freaking standing! The best prawns I have ever had and that is truly remarkable. On that dish if there was 6 stars they would have got it. I also know they didn't forge any of these reviews because I had to try and explain what Yelp is and they hadn't a clue. Do yourself a favor and jump off the freeway and go there. Prices are very low for this quality. It is 2 minutes or less off I82. You will feel compelled to yelp them a great review, like the other 8 of us have.

We've only had Thai food a couple of times and really didn't know what to order. I would have given five stars because the food was great as was the service. The only problem was trying to communicate with the server as what to order. She wasn't very much help and difficult to understand. I ended up calling my daughter for a couple suggestions, which turned out to be good choices. On our next stop through we will dine here again.

Great food. Amazing green curry and tempura calamari. Also had a lobster tail with pad Thai noodles for $14.95. No liquor licence, but a great place

I've tried some Thai in my time. This place was certainly better than average. Service was quick and friendly. The level of spicy was just right.

Excellent Thai cuisine! I seek out southeast Asian food wherever I go when I'm not cooking it myself and this place is above average. My soup was freshly prepared with basil, lemongrass and galangal root, fresh mushrooms and fresh-tasting seafood (while likely and appropriately for eastern OR frozen). My dumpling appetizer was tasty and satisfying. These are Thai restaurateurs recently from Portland bringing quality dining to Pendleton!

Good food, very clean, good service. Very glad we stopped in! The waitress was wary when my husband asked for five star Thai hot and the food could have been spicier! Some folks like it hot. My pineapple rice was very good. One small recommendation would be some background music. I could hear the rock n roll from kitchen even though I was sitting on the other side of the restaurant. It didn't fit with the rest of the experience.

Thanks to yelp and the other reviewers, I chose to stop here for dinner while on a road trip on i84. I have been to many Thai places and this one ranks with the best. The food and service were top notch and the place is very clean. If you like Thai food, don't miss it!

I am a well traveled engineer, from an asian descent who loves food. So trust me when i say, this place is got amazing food. Everything i order so far has always been excellent. The waitress sarah is friendly the owner kind and the chef know how to make the thai food right. Everytime i pass by this town. I have to stop by

Stopped in on the drive to Boise from Seattle and was pleasantly surprised at the deliciousness of this Thai food. Had the Panang curry and Phad Thai - both were excellent and very flavorful. The staff was also incredibly friendly. One note - don't be scared away by the exterior. Like most good Asian restaurants the food cannot be judged by the decor or building.

Great place kind of hidden but worth going and eating they also do takeout which is always great if you just want to get it and eat at home :-)!

Great food and service! I got the pad Thai and my girlfriend got the tom kah and both were thoroughly enjoyed. the vegetable egg rolls were also very good and came with a delicious plum sauce. A diamond in the rough!

Fabulous thai food. Definitely ranks up there and easily competes with thai food from Portland.

Love this place..great food and great service. The avocado curry is to die for. Orange chicken was great. Also tried chicken stay from the appetizer menu and it is to die for with the peanut curry sauce it came with.

This is hands down the best food I've had in a while. Just walking in restaurant and staff welcoming and clean. We started with Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Fresh Rolls. The all the vegetables in the rolls were crisp and clean. The shrimp was cold and of good quality. The Crab Rangoons are obviously made In house, not over fried or greasy (YAY!). Our entrées were all excellent as well; Pad Thai, Tom Kah Kung, Thai Basil chicken. All with fresh ingredients. If you have time, this place is a must!

Worthwhile stop for lunch out of Boise. For a shady spot, we parked on the street across from the hardware store. Very tasty, ample portions. We especially loved the Tom Kha. Nice server. We'll be back! Closed from 2-3:30pm M-F.

Nice surprise in Pendleton. We were driving home to Seattle from Utah and needed some Asian food. We do A LOT of Thai in Seattle. I was nervous to try it here, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Excellent spice blends. And the vegetables were cooked to perfection in the curry - just enough crunch to give texture but not raw. Highly recommend the Thai Basil (different than the Spicy Basil dish). Made with ground meat, plenty of basil, green beans and a bit of bell peppers. Very different than the normal Thai Basil dishes, but excellent control of spice, basil and meat.

Made a stop here for a quick meal and the food was amazing, ordered thai soup and masuman curry both were fsntastic, but the soup was truly amazing

A perfect meal on the way from Boise to Portland. Excellent fresh rolls, pad Thai, and fried rice. Speedy service, too. Even the picky eaters in our family finished their plates.

OK, I'm giving 5 stars this time because their panang curry, larb salad, and thai shrimp dumplings were EXCELLENT. So delicious. I wish I could dine here every day...

Very authentic! The food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere clean and quiet. I was admittedly a little apprehensive as to the authenticity, as it's in the middle of cow town Pendleton... I stand corrected.

This is your best bet for something different in Pendleton OR. It is a very authentic restaurant and truly a gem in a cowboy town in rural eastern Oregon. The menu is divided between noodles, soups, curries, and stir-fried entrees. The price range is around $10. You cannot go wrong with the pad Thai. The spicy basil is very nice and the Thai iced tea is great at combating the heat. The cashew w/ shrimp is also very tasty. This place is geared toward a family style of dining, and is great for large groups! Really fantastic!

What a pleasant surprise this restaurant is. I had the Green Curry avocado with chicken and it was awesome. I also had tom yum soup which was delicious. Then I finished off with the mangoes with sticky rice, definitely save room for this. The dessert was beautifully plated and delicious. From the outside this place looks old and beat but get over that and walk in for great, friendly service and food. I will return when I am back in town.

We are from LA. The food here is on par w places in LA. Who would have knew great Thai in small town. The decor is nice. We ordered Chicken satay: chicken breast moist, great peanut sauce Chicken pad see you: better than many of the ones I had in La. Love the extra garlic Mango sticky rice: nice ripe mango. Rice was cooked perfect. Next time we visit Pendleton, we will come back here again.

Yum! We drove through Pendleton on a road trip yesterday. There aren't too many dinner options, but the pictures for this place looked delicious! And it lived up to those expectations, for sure. We had the vegetarian egg rolls to start which were crisp and hot. Very good. I had an avocado green curry dish with chicken. I've only had this dish one other time in Eugene and have been craving it ever since. It was delicious! Spicy, creamy and full of flavor. My other half had a spicy noodle dish with chicken that was sure to please the palate. This place is very simple but was clean and filling. So happy to find this little gem in such a small town!

I wish I could get over here more often. The food here is just so delicious. We had the golden prawns appetizer, spicy garlic berf, and chicken three ways. All of it was fantastic.

I really like Thai Crystal. The food is very tasty. The lunches are a reasonable size and good price. The Spicy Noodles (L3) are very yummy. I took out to feed some guests and we all had a great meal. I had the Mussamun Curry and Papya Salad for dinner tonight and am very pleased.

I had a meeting this morning, so stopped before driving back to Portland. The pace has a nice feel and the staff is friendly. I ordered a dish listed as hot. They forgot the heat. It was bland. It had good ingredients with a good balance between noodles, vegetables and meat. My big complaint is a lack of heat, despite 2 peppers on the menu.

Groaaaaan I think I just might explode. Couldn't stop eating the food was so good! Ya, its not fancy (which actually means the food is probably better) its the mom and pop places that do Thai right. We asked for 5start spicy and it wasnt that hot. I do love a good cry while eating so missed that. But we will be back for sure!

Great thai food for a cowboy town. The pad thai did not dissapoint. Fairly priced food that tastes great. If you're not looking for typical pendleton fare than this is a great place to check out. The staff are very friendly as well.

I relocated from Portland and Thai Crystal beats any thai restaurant i've been too. We eat there almost every week. I have had many different items from the menu and each one has been excellent. The service is good too. Highly recommended! 10 stars!!!

Went to the Thai Crystal for lunch and it was epic. Great, great service. With three kids, we tried a lot of the menu and everybody loved all the dishes. They even gave me some of the smoked habanero powder to go. Highly recommend this place! Will be back when in the area!

Okay, simply put, I loved this place. It was delicious. I went by myself while I was in town and I was so surprised to see a Thai place in a rodeo town. It was a Monday night and it was pretty quiet - only a few other people there. They served a salad with my dinner, which was nice since most Thai places don't include those little extras with dinner. The salad was very good - might I add. I ordered panang chicken with medium spice and it was delicious. I couldn't eat it all and took it back to my hotel but I was looking forward to the leftovers already. Also, the service was very good and the ambiance was nice. Although I doubt I'll ever be back in Pendleton, I would definitely eat here if I did.

In rural places, it is often hard to find something other than your typical American fare. This place is a real gem in the desert. The Tom Kha soup was on point and the three flavor chicken reminded me of a Japanese katsu with an orange sauce, really tasty. It doesn't look like much from the exterior, but I would recommend this place to anybody looking for exceptional Thai. Let's face it, your options are limited within a 300 mile radius.. be thankful for this place!

Great Thai restaurant for a small town! Not the best I've had, but a great place. Red curry was good, Crystal fried rice was a little bland. Service was helpful and fast--so fast that it took us longer to decide on our dishes than for them to serve 'em. My children loved the soup served with our entrees. The deep fried ice cream was beautiful and delicious! The booths make it a great place for families & other groups.

Excellent food and great service. I had the panang curry, spicy noodles and their green curry on different days. All fantastic! Unfortunately I found the pad thai to be too salty for my tastes (you might like) and the food to be on the expensive side. Expect to spend $12 on a dinner plate and $6-$8on an appetizer if you want their Thai dumplings (amazing) or spring rolls( also amazing). The lunch special for $7.95 is a great bargain so you can sample a few menu items on different occasions without spending a ton of money. Lunch is served from 11-2 or 3 I believe. The portion sizes are smaller but definitely still fill you up. Usually comes with crab ragoon or spring rolls and rice (for curry).

Maybe the best restaurant in Pendleton. Fresh food made delicious. I am determined to try it all somehow... But I love the Pad Thai and Thai Cashew dishes the most. The service is always friendly and the food is prepared beautifully. During watermelon season they cut up watermelons into artwork. And I love their hot tea.

Excellent food and service! Completely under-rated. While abroad in Thailand, I often craved This Thai food even more haha. Go eat here now.

Are you driving from Portland to Denver like we are, looking for good cheap food? This place is solid - flavorful fresh Thai dishes (all the usuals) and we stopped at lunch, meaning only ~$7.50 a plate. BAM! Super fast service too...

Fantastic! Got here totally by chance on a family road trip. We didn't expect much as there was only one review, but turns out the place is quite new and just fabulous. We had 2 different soups (share style) and 4 different main courses all deliciously spicy. The place is very clean and service is friendly. Go there.

Best rural American Thai food we have ever had! The Phad Kee Mao is comparable with our favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle. Staff is friendly and articulate, even over the phone ordering take out. Both the shrimp and avocado rolls are to live for! This would be a five star restaurant if the ambience from the previous American Buffet/diner was remodeled with Thai influence.

This is the only thai place in pendleton that we could find, but it compares well to the thai places in portland. The food and service was good and the price was right.

First to review! I'm new to Pendleton-land so I'm not sure when this restaurant morphed into Thai Crystal (formerly Thai Ploy). On a whim (an empty stomach), we ventured into this unassuming restaurant for lunch. My partner in crime ordered the spicy basil chicken lunch meal (comes with soup, spring roll and rice) and I had my Thai-barometer-meal of Pad Thai (with a 3 of 4 spice rating). This meal did not disappoint! Standard Thai fare with friendly service, quality ingredients and a clean eating area. Please, please, PLEASE visit this restaurant! Pendleton needs more 'authentic' restaurants like this one! We will certainly be back!

visited for dinner a few weeks back...eating Thai for lunch today reminded me how GREAT the food was...do not pass/go.

Absolutely amazing Thai food! The fresh rolls were delicious, as was their homemade peanut sauce. The wonton soup came steaming, stayed hot the entire time, and had the perfect amount of spice. We also got the 3 spice crispy chicken with their own sauce and it was really really good. We have been to Thailand and love their flavors, this restaurant is very much like the real deal. We will be back the next time we drive through this town. A memorable dinner to say the least, and highly recommended. :)

Wowzers. The fruit fly issue we had at our table should have been good enough reason to cancel our order and just leave, but the waitress' response to my commenting on it was; "yeah, they're so annoying!" Um. Ok. That's one way to look it I guess. But I dunno, perhaps some bug abatement is in order? The place wasn't dirty so much as it was shabby. Really, really shabby. The food was also very mediocre & akin to something you'd buy out of a box or can at Trader Joes and heat up in a microwave. And I don't even own a microwave! Either they were having a really off night, or something has seriously slipped since the latest reviews... Or, folks in Pendleton just don't know what good Thai food actually tastes like. Whatever the reason, I definitely wouldn't be likely to recommend it, whether you live here or are just driving through. Pity. I really wanted to say "Yay!". That said, this isn't my home town and I'm sure the owners are lovely people. So I'll defer to the locals on that front.

Really good food. I was surprised a few months back when I drove by this place and they had a "Grand Opening" sign hung on their roof. I was unaware they were a completely new rendition of Thai cuisine (which replaced the predecessor, Thai Ploy). I enjoyed Thai Ploy, but the service never "wow"ed me enough to make visiting them a regular thing. Thai Crystal has changed that. Their service is generally on point, and the food is delicious. Pendleton, of course, does not have other Thai restaurants with which the food can be compared, but in visits to other out-of-town places, this place holds its ground. They feature a lunch menu, with about 10 options, where $7 gets you a decent sized plate, a cup of soup and a spring roll. I never leave this place hungry :) . I have not visited for dinner yet, but my friends are also big fans of this place, and they have raved about value (add $3 or so to your lunch price, but double the size of your order!). The only "bad" thing I can say about this place is that the degrees of spiciness one might find at other Thai places is a bit lost here. Options range from 1-5, and 5 is hardly sweat-worthy. They do have a chili paste, an infused vinegar and a dry spice that you can manually add to your dishes to give it some extra kick. The vinegar is awesome in the soup, and serves to open your sinuses as an extra bonus. But still some hotter options would be appreciated. If ya haven't checked it out yet... get to it!

Good Thai Food for Pendleton. Much better than the previous owner. Decent Pad Thai, very good Prad Priking, and good Basil Chicken.
