This is the best Mexican food I've had in at least 50 years. Home cooked, love in every bite. The staff are all friendly, attentive and very helpful. We can't wait to return. While Pendleton had never been a specific destination for our family, it is now.

Also Known as "Joe's Fiesta". This place is great! We were traveling through and had a hankering for Mexican. Found this place and were not disappointed. This little place offers friendly service and really interesting takes on traditional Mexican fare. Be sure to try the cabbage salsa which is complimentary with your meal. Their carne verde was wonderful.

Great salsa, truly home-made and unique. Some of the best Mexican I've ever had.

This is the place to go for excellent mexican food when in Pendleton or in Walla Walla. I had the carne asada with chili verde. the carne asada steak was done perfectly and the flavors on both the steak and pork was perfect. The service was very good and quick. When in Pendleton or driving by I will definitely stop for a mexican food fix!

First time I ever ordered veggie fajitas and had them not come out on a hot skillet. Luckily they tasted great so I got over it. Also the least "Mexican" rice I've seen at a restaurant, pretty sure it was plain/ unseasoned. Interesting chips and salsa; one of the dips is almost a spicy veggie soup, the other is more like watery salsa with cabbage in it. Veggie soup style dip, no thanks. Weird cabbage salsa, surprisingly good. Waitress was friendly and fast. Sealed the deal with a dessert tortilla triangle with cinnamon and whip cream

We found it through Yelp as we were staying in town for the night. We came in just as they were closing, they were more then happy to allow us to come in and dine in without putting any pressure on us. I ordered the chile verde burrito, we also had the steak fiesta burrito, the fajitas plate and the steak ranchero plate. All were excellent, but we all agreed that the steak fiesta burrito was the best. Super friendly staff, the restaurant was also very clean.

Had a terrific lunch here. They made a wonderful custom quesadilla for me and the large margarita was double size for only $1 more than the small. The huckleberry flavor was unique and quite good. Super friendly definitely will go there again the next time I'm in town.

I stopped here because it was close up my motel and recommended by the motel staff. The first thing I noticed was that the name is actually Joe's Fiesta, not La Fiesta. The salsa was unlike any I've ever had. After the first two bites the spice and flavor really kicked in. My strawberry margarita was delish. I ordered the Mexican enchiladas and they were the best enchiladas I've ever had. Seriously. The wait staff was attentive and helpful, but I came at a strange time and the place was pretty empty.

It was delicious! We were staying in Pendleton overnight, and needed something other than fast food/car snacks. The owner, Joe, clearly takes pride in his heritage, business, and food. They do serve two styles of salsa, but neither is the typical salsa most of us expect in the states. One is a liquid salsa, and the other has almost a Cole slaw mix in the tomatos. I asked Joe what state in Mexico the style was from, because I honestly have never seen it before. It is the traditional Jalilsco style, minus the shrimp to keep if cost effective. I think confusion over this restaurant by those who have given lower reviews stems from not understanding different regions in Mexico have different styles, just like food from Alabama is different from that of Texas. I got the #30, three salsa Verde enchiladas. Joe recommended I get one of each type of meat available, chicken, ground beef, and beef strips. It was $12 with tax and so much food! I regretted not being able to finish it, and couldn't take it with me because our hotel did not have a fridge. The kids chicken and cheese quesadilla was only $4, and was a full quesadilla not a half a quesadilla that you normally get on kids menus. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Awful service, bad food. My gluten intolerant wife ordered corn tortillas and got flour. Food was bland. Margarita was weak. This place sucks.

When we are in Pendleton, or passing through, Joe's is a "must stop" for a bite to eat! Great prices, great food, and just the right amount! Take a break from the busy road, and relax!

Great Mexican food. Great service! I am visiting here from central California, where we have many excellent Mexican restaurants. This was truly great food....and cheap! I had the the shredded beef flautas which were excellent! My husband had the chile verde, whichever he liked very much! Great food and cheap!!

I am amazed. Now, first and foremost I'll give a review on the food; but that's not why I will come back EVERY TIME I'm in Pendleton. Keep in mind, I'm a Hispanic California man... So I am spoiled with an abundance of delicious authentic Mexican food. I expected the food to be rough, but it was actually good. Also very affordable, I paid $10.25 for chicken mole, rice, beans, and a drink. (Not to mention the chips, salsas, tortillas and a little surprise dessert) - they even brought me a pitcher of water just in case. Service was fast and good, But... That's the least of the importance here to me. I've stumbled upon a character in the owner Joe. While here, I experienced something greater. A little girl with Down syndrome who anxiously waited to see her friend Joe. He came out and knew everyone and the dishes they were going to order. After saying hi and interacting with his obviously loyal customers, he went to the little girl and talked to her for a bit. Then he said, wait... I've got something for you and went to the back. He brought out an old dusty sombrero and handed it to the girl, he mentioned it was his first sombrero and he wanted her to have it. The girl was ecstatic and wore it the rest of the time she was at the restaurant. Her mom paid, they said their goodbyes to Joe and off they went... That girl couldn't leave Disneyland happier than she left this place. I will come back every time I am in Pendleton and recommend anyone near this place to stop by and support a genuine man and his business.

Anticipated good Mexican, the burrito was OK but the Chimichanga, rice, and salsa had absolutely no flavor. Not recommended at all!

This was my go to restaurant when we first moved here. That's before I discovered Mazatlan. The food here is amazing and comparable to good Mexican restaurants in Tucson. The salsa was freshly made, I could tell, but very watered down. I felt they were holding back on the spice overall, but they were probably trying to be accommodating to the target demographic. I personally like a kick to my Mexican. I'd say the food may be comparable to Mazatlan but I prefer the atmosphere and location of Mazatlan much more. I would come back here on occasion to see how they still stack up.

I absolutely loved this place. We had jumbo margaritas and split shredded beef nachoes. Everything was delicious & they blend their margs, yum! The people were friendly, the prices were super reasonable. If I didn't live 4 hours away I would come here so much. Also, instead of mints they give you fried tortilla with honey and whipped cream, this was a lovely treat.

Best Mexican food I've ever had. Joe is so friendly and personable...he remembers each person favorite dish(es) every time!

Very good service, average food. Portions were decent sizes and prices were more than fair. None of the tortillas were made on sight though, and I do love homemade tortillas. My tamale and enchilada combo was hot and filling, but I'm afraid I'll have to go against the majority of reviewers here - it really was just average. My husband had similar feelings about his chili relleno / burrito combo - good, but just good. I'd recommend La Fiesta if you're wandering about downtown and get the hankering for Mexican for sure, you could do a lot worse.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
