Came here recently for breakfast while on vacation. The place was hopping, the servers were scurrying here and there, dangerously almost spilling drinks on another customer. The interior is cute, and the bathroom is clean. We got seated rather quickly. I had the crab eggs benny, it was good, not great. My son and husband had the chicken fried steak, it was good. My other son had a waffle, good also. We probably should've had the pancakes instead. Coffee was more expensive then it should be, and we could barely get a refill with our meal. Lots of the staff spent a chunk of time setting up for a large party of people. We might go back, but it would not be our first choice though.

Had a great breakfast from here this morning! Eggs, sausage and buck wheat pancakes for one, eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy for the other. We both left food on our plates and left very full. Service was great, seated right away, order taken promptly and food came out nice and warm. Be prepared on a weekend you may have a wait because while we did not have to there was a wait when we left.

The Pig n' Pancake is the place to come for a delicious breakfast served in a fun, family friendly atmosphere. There's a small gift shop in the front of the restaurant, and all of the staff were friendly and inviting. The price is reasonable considering the hefty portions and delicious food! The eggs and hash browns were good, but the bacon, sausage links, and pancakes were awesome. Thick cut bacon, tasty sausage, and sweet, fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Yum! Plus, this place has an option besides maple syrup: triple berry syrup, which was excellent. And to whoever said the food was cold... Nope! Everything was piping hot.

I WAS GONNA MAKE A GRIZWOLD FAMILY JOKE HERE. BUT IT WAS WAY TOO HAMMY.......=D Ok all jokes aside, this was a great little spot to stop for breakfast on the way home. We figured we kept passing them from time to time so we ought to stop in. Pleasant surprises await. Lots to choose from both on the adult and kids menus. My son got a breakfast staple of chocolate chip pancakes, and a side of bacon. Both gone before we knew it. So that was a winner to say the least. My daughter, who tend to not like breakfasts, tried the silver dollar pancakes. Now this kid USUALLY only likes them from the original pancake place, but LOVED these. I have yet to figure out what the big flavor difference is yet, but im determined. I went with the taco omlet. Taco seasoned ground beef, olives, onions ect. Served with salsa, sour cream and guac. All in all, not bad, i would order this again. I had a choice of hash browns and toast, or 4 pancakes, i chose the hash. Cooked perfectly. The wife was craving blueberry pancakes and this place did not dissappoint. They were cooked perfect, great flavor, and a large portion. She was happy, which meant i was happy. Be warned, this place gets busy fast, but seriously, we had a great meal. Service was good, prices fair, portions excellent. I cant complain. We will stop here again when nearby.

Granted, they were very busy, but having worked in the business myself, that's no excuse for the slow and inattentive service. Bunch of staff standing around chatting together long after were seated. Really felt ignored. Juice ordered came after food came. They seemed more concerned about a 13 party than getting to us, who were seated first. Asked for a coffee refill; had to practically physically stop a server with a pot to get it. Food: pecan pancakes were wonderful, as were the hash browns. But I ordered the eggs Benedict with Dungeness crab and the poached egg was way over cooked and the English muffin was nearly raw. We ordered a side of toast; came barely toasted and cold. Kicker is when the cashier asked if everything was satisfactory and I replied no, she didn't ask for details or express regret that we weren't pleased with our experience. Why ask if you really don't want to know? Shame.

I bet this is a good breakfast spot. I came for dinner - big mistake. The whimsical exterior with the pig characters didn't carry through to the inside of this diner which was plain and uninteresting. I ordered the chicken dijon dinner and a marionberry milkshake. The chicken came with mashed potatoes & gravy and steamed veggies. Everything was okay in a below-average way. The milkshake was decent but too light in berry flavor and definitely much too expensive (over $5) even though they provide the tin too. My chicken plate arrived and the plain thin slab of coated chicken seemed to taste rather plain. It took me a few minutes to flag down someone to ask where was the "dijon" part of this chicken dijon. I was soon provided with a small condiment cup of honey mustard. Service was substandard, most likely due to inexperience. As I previously mentioned, it might be good for breakfast but skip dinner.

Consistently yummy food, good sevice, and decent prices. This is the best breakfast place in Newport. Others don't compare. I recommend their pancakes.

Best breakfast place around! We've only ever been to the one in Lincoln City but the Newport location was great as well. The food was good but I wouldn't call it spectacular. Five stars, for me, should really blow me out of the water. The service, however, was FAST. It was like they had some stealth communication system between employees. Just as I was about to drink the last sip of water, someone was standing at the table to fill it. Excellent service and good food.

  • Alina N.

5 stars for the waffles and for the service being quick despite the amount of people in here

  • Carlos R.

Waited longer than 15 or 20 mins until they took my order, shitty service. Wifi sucks as well, food came 30-40 mins after.

Traveling in the area and wanted to get a good honest breakfast and looked at some of the reviews for this restaurant. It does live up to its reputation as the best breakfast restaurant in Newport. I had the eggs Benedict which was fantastic, instead of the thick pieces of ham I am accustomed to at most breakfast restaurants they had thinly sliced ham atop an english muffin, poached egg and tons of Hollandaise sauce. This combination made a fantastic eggs Benedict !! Our whole family enjoyed breakfast and the prices were quite reasonable. As good as it gets !!

Bran muffin was wonderful! Shrimp on english muffin was fantastic! Great fresh fruit! The wait staff are fun and friendly! Love this place

The loss of three stars is attributable to cold food. This is an amazing place filled with an abundance of employees attempting to overcome a critical design flaw - the kitchen is too far from the customers. The "ants" in blue shirts are scurrying about, inefficiently, to accomplish an impossible task - fresh, HOT, food delivered efficiently to customers. If you want to view a logistics conundrum - come in, take a seat, have a cup of coffee and observe. There is plenty of flavor our garden omelette, hot cakes and toast - destroyed by the "cold' toast and cakes. The queen ant needs to rethink this model.

  • Ravi R.

Enormous portions, I had the crab omelet and it was delicious. Staff are attentive with water and coffee, environment is fine. Things feel "busy" as there is a steady stream of customers (including kids) making their way through.

Pricey, but comfortable, friendly staff and very clean. Best French toast ever! I would eat here again.

We went here for breakfast. I had the kielbasa skillet. It was filling and super flavorful. The staff was friendly and the food was reasonably priced. Couldn't complain if I wanted to.

Stopped in again and had the Dungeness crab tillamook cheese omelette. So delicious! Still my favorite! Great food and good service

You don't walk into Pig 'N Pancake expecting the best food in the world, but it sure was a pleasant surprise on my road trip down the coast. I had spotted Pig 'N Pancakes in numerous cities and wanted to see what it was all about. I ordered their jalapeno chicken wrap and it was HUGE! It was twice the size that I thought it would be and was actually two wraps. I got two meals out of it. Definitely value for your money. It was spicy, it was crunchy and a massive mess to eat (in a good way). I got it with a side of tater tots which you can't go wrong with. The staff were pleasant and food came promptly. The only this is when you walk in, there is a bit of a strange smell - cleaning solution maybe? Definitely a great place to stop if you're traveling through down the coast.

We stopped here at 7am on a cloudy June morning. The place was essentially empty. We had waffles and mine were delicious: pecan waffles with butter, whipped cream, syrup, and a side of bacon. Fast service, though no one was there!, clean, no real ambience, adequate food. I was completely satisfied.

  • Stella B.

Came here for lunch and wasn't expecting a whole lot as it looked like a "chain" restaurant. Ordered the crab eggs Benedict and coffee. It was amazing! Amazing! It was a "special", so I don't know how the other food rates up, but I'd definitely recommend this place.

  • Nicole K.

Typical yet delicious greasy breakfast food. Fast service. Big portions. Very crowded and busy. Lots of children. We wanted to see if the "Pig in a Pancake" was delicious but to our surprise the sausage inside the pancake was a ridiculously small, non-flavored simple link. We were expecting a little bigger and higher quality sausage inside. The omelet and skillet we also ordered saved the day but extreme disappointment with the actual Pig in a Pancake. Gift store has fun trinkets for quick gifts for the holidays.

  • Nate P.

Prices are fair. The Chicken Fried Steak tasted like it was infused with rubber, probably due to high fat content. I only took one two bites, and the waiter either didn't notice or didn't feel like asking. The wait staff is typically friendly and never had any issues here before. Just not happy with the Chicken Fried Steak. Boo. My girls had their typical pancakes and eggs with no complaints. Wifey had the pecan pancakes, they were classified as "so-so."

Service was good and excellent food. Really enjoyed it. I ordered lunch and got clam chowder with it and it was the best clam chowder I've had to date. Highly recommended if you are in Newport.

Great place for classic American food. Service was good.

  • Sara F.

After 2 consecutive bad visits, I thought maybe they've got their shit together since and it may be better this time. I have to say the worst part about this place is the customer service. The cheap hooker-looking waitress did all but put a middle finger to my face when I she gave me pancakes after I ordered waffles and called her out on it. After finally getting the right order, the waitress persisted to go to the table next to us and offer the pancakes to a little girl by saying "Some bitch ordered the wrong thing then changed her mind, these are free". I was outraged and left without giving her that dollar-eighty tip she needed to live.

This was by far the Worst breakfast experience of my entire adult life. This is the only place that could make Denny's look like a gourmet eatery. Service was awkward at best. The food was almost unappetizing due to horrible preparation. Things were either under cooked... And I mean really undercooked or badly made. The menu was so incredibly generic I found myself questioning whether or not McDonald's was still serving if that's any indicator of the options.

  • Jdstrang3 ..

I have never had worse hashbrowns and the chicken fried steak tasted like it had been microwaved. I ordered the chicken fried steak skillet and it was among the most disapointing meals I've ever had. My meal showed up slightly cold and it's gravy was obviously from a mix. All in all stay away. This place is straight up gross.

  • Lerma S.

the staff are super nice. My 2yo daughter wanted the balloon behind their counter and one of the staff gave it to her. Its easy to find with parking. I ordered crab omelet which was ok. Not great.

  • Penny L.

Food not to good. Our pancakes were so cold the butter would not melt. Waffle was so small and chewy that it was not worth eating. My recommendation would be to eat elsewhere.

  • Amanda W.

The most bland, average breakfast you will ever eat. Not the kind of breakfast you want to waste time and money on when on vacation. All food tastes packaged and frozen. Service is sub par, atmosphere is chain restaurant. If you live in town and have a hangover craving for pancakes - go for it. But if you've driven here from out of town and want something delicious and fun before hitting the town... Please, for the love of God go to one of the many brunch spots in Nye Beach. You will thank me.

Super service. Great breakfast. The bacon here is the best, long strips of perfectly cooked bacon goodness. Servers were happy and attentive

  • M W.

From the outside this doesn't look exciting, but it is great for breakfast! I was traveling and passed on the donuts with coffee in the foam cup @ my motel for a real breakfast here. I had 2 eggs over easy with English muffin and fruit substituted for the hash browns. Everything was prepared perfectly and Ellie (the server) was very attentive and friendly. Look at the photo for the portion size and variety on the fruit. Excellent!

The Pig 'N Pancake (or has Herself calls it "The Pagan Pancake") is your average B flat American restaurant. I choose the sausage with eggs over medium and pancakes. Herself had the bacon with scrambled eggs and toast. The service was quick and our server friendly. I found the sausage rather bland and my eggs were runny, however the pancakes were light and tasty. As for Herself she said the bacon was very good but her eggs were overcooked. Now we come to their coffee. It was, in a word, atrocious. Serving weak, bitter coffee is a deal breaker especially in the Pacific Northwest. We'll think twice before we have breakfast here again.

I usually love Pig 'N Pancake. Their food is good. Their locations are convenient. And their service is good... well usually. This one failed on the service. Bigtime. We came in around 1:30 ish on a Saturday after just having drove from Portland. There were 4 waiters up front but it took a good 2 or 3 minutes to even be acknowledged and sat down. So we sat down and waited... and waited... I took 15 minutes before we were ackowledged for any other reason except the numerous people asking us if we wanted coffee. 15 minutes is not too long, except that there were only 4 tables seated and a throng of open waitstaff at the front. So we ordered our food, including my child's mac and cheese with a side of fruit. Either their idea of fruit is a 2mm thick orange slice, or they completely forgot to bring it. Then, while we were eating we hear this loud crash. Some poor bus boy had knocked over a tray of mugs shattering damn near 30 of them on the floor (not in the kitchen, but in an area where people could sit.) I don't mind things crashing. It happens. What I did mind was the complete lack of any attention paid to it by anyone other than the poor guy who dropped it. At every other restaraunt I know, if somebody drops glass several people will offer to help and clean it up. Here, not only did no one help, but another bus boy sat down next to the mess and watched the guy clean it up. Not one of the throng of waitstaff chatting at the front even TRIED to see what happened. After all of the other service mistakes, this one really bugged me. I don't really feel like commenting on the food, as I was tired from driving and annoyed with the service (and I had munched a lot while diriving too) so I can't really say I would give an accurate description. Well, the milkshake was good. There was one bright spot. Her name was Ella (or Ellen, or Helen, I don't remember fully). She knew what was going on and of all the throng of waitstaff there she seemed to be the only one who showed she cared to help us. It's a damn shame giving the Pig a 2. I love the chain, but this experience was bad. Hell, my wife and I went to one on our honeymoon (Lincoln City, and we loved it) and because of this she may never let us go back.

I went here for breakfast and had to order the sourdough pancakes because that's not something we seem to have near us. The first time I had them they were homemade over on this coast and this time they were pretty close to just as tasty! This is your basic diner-type restaurant with an extensive breakfast menu. My pancakes were very good and the service was prompt and friendly. I would gladly return for breakfast again.

While I can appreciate a local, small chain, and tend to patronize them more than larger chains, this one didn't really stand out. The food, mediocre, not terrible though which is why I am giving three stars. The service was good, prices a bit higher than expected for the quality/type of food available on the menu. I had the crab and cheese omelet with pancakes and side of hash-browns. The omelet was literally crab and cheese which was ok, perhaps having some other vegetables or some additional flavors to help bring it to life would have been welcomed. The pancakes were good and I enjoyed the mixed berry syrup on the table. While I didn't ask, it would be nice for a place like this to offer real maple syrup. It is really hard for me to keep from giving Pig 'N Pancake less stars for the one simple fact that you have to walk through a junk shop just to see the hostess. Upon walking in you are barraged from unrelated and not really even locally themed gifts and useless crap. It's tacky and unappealing. If this place really makes a huge profit from this, then fine. But I doubt it.

Road trip stop. They do the basics very well, recommend the sourdough pancakes and the waffle with fruit compote both with bacon, bacon goooood. Coffee was good enough. My boy ate his so fast I didn't get a chance to ask him what he thought. Speaking of which, the staff was very good with the kids aged 7 and 4.

It was the best food and service of five resturants we visited in two days at Newport . They have one of the best Rubens in Oregon.

    (5)
  • Daniel W.

Decent, not actually worth going to. Country fried steak is hard to screw up but they managed to make the toughest least flavorful dish possible. The biscuit was bland and much too dense. The taco omelet was alright but, again, no flavor. The coffee was burnt tasting. On the plus side, service was great!

    (2)
  • Phillip B.

Meh. I would leave it at that...but the staff was very pleasant. If you crave breakfast do yourself a favor and skip this place. The eggs are from a carton and tasted of last night's fish special. Pancakes are mediocre at best.

  • B M.

Looking for a great breakfast experience in Newport? Skip The Pig. The food and service were both pretty good. Coffee not good at all. The bar & stools that would face the kitchen at any other diner in the world are facing a blank wall here. What the...?? Far and away though the biggest issue with this place is the smell. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT OVER POWERING SMELL THAT SMACKS YOU IN THE FACE WHEN YOU WALK THRU THE FRONT DOOR?? Hard to describe but it's like a cross between some nasty cleaning solution and an old maritime museum.. It permeates the entire restaurant!! No matter the quality of the food, coffee or service I would never go back based on the smell alone. Sorry guys but it's all I could think about the entire time I was there engaged in a futile attempt at enjoying my meal. Yuck!

I was pleasantly surprised by our visit to this Pig 'N Pancake. The memories that stick out in my mind most about Pig 'N Pancake are being in Seaside, surrounded by rude parents and screaming children while eating mediocre food. Sure, when you enter, you see that they'd rather squeeze a few more dollars out of you in their "gift shop" than give you a place to wait for your table. Sure, the staff is a little overworked and at times acts like you're just lucky to be allowed to eat here. Sure, it's just a small-chain version of Shari's or Denny's. But . . . the food is pretty good, the service is mostly fine and you're not nearly as crammed in the restaurant as you are in their location to the north. I'd rather have tried a truly local place for breakfast, but I wasn't disappointed by our visit here.

Happened upon this place during a drive up the West Coast this summer and it was love at first bite! Huge diner, incredibly clean, friendly/welcoming staff (we had a really funny server who really made our morning). Servings were huge and the food tasted incredibly fresh. Tip: If you're a hungry boy (or girl) at breakfast or brunch, try the eggs benedict served over the Dungeness crab cakes instead of English muffin. Incredible and it hits the spot and helps avoid the need for a big lunch. Oink!! This is one pig I can't wait to eat with again!

    (5)
  • Jody B.

Awesome breakfast and good service. Like a Dennys but better food. We would go here again. The kielbasa sausage skillet was really good. The eggs benedict with ham and hollandaise sauce was some of the best we have had. You can easily share one plate of food. The portions are great!

  • Melinda O.

Have to say after reading the reviews I wasn't expecting much. Bacon...mmmm...thick sliced and done to perfection. Sand dollar pancakes much larger than sand dollars, Denver omlett and hashbrowns come out w out spices. Have tour salt, pepper, and tapatio ready. The servers were very attentive but not intrusive. Had no wait on the last Sunday of spring break.

It's like a Denny's/ Shari's... but, tastes a lot better than the two combined, while offering seafood items such as: razor clams (awesome), shrimp omelet, etc. HOURS of OPERATION: 7am-3pm.

I don't understand why this place has customers at all McDonald's is far better food & I hate McDonald's

Fantastic service with a great sense of humor. The portions were huge and the food was pretty tasty. Nothing special, but it did fill us up for a few hours.

My wife liked the name and being the good husband, I stopped here for lunch with the family. The name is certainly better than the product they serve. It was so unmemorable, I don't even recall what we got, other than what my wife got was so bad that they took it off the final bill. Once and done, we won't be coming back here.

    (2)
  • Caleb S.

The worst McDonalds breakfast taste better than this place. The service was below par, too expensive for the quality of food. I recommend taking your business to more of a local breakfast place.

Pig Sty and Pancake would be a better name. My wife and I went to Newport for a couple days for our Anniversary. We went to PNP on July 31st for breakfast and based on the name expected a good breakfast. The place was loud, and obnoxious, but we were hungry and there were a lot of people there, we figured the food would be good. I ordered the Country Fried Steak / Eggs and my wife ordered the Potato Pancakes. We ordered coffee, my wife wanted decaf. Three tries later she finally got them to give her decaf, we finally gave up trying. While sitting waiting for our food, we saw a sign about not putting the high chairs for kids upside down. Not sure why people would do that, odd? We looked around and the booth, the floor, the walls, the picture frames were filthy, have not been cleaned (more on that in a moment) Our food came... My chicken fried steak was cut up in little pieces. I am in my 40s, I can use a knife. It was cold because it was cut up, why do that? The country gravy was bland, no spices, no heat, no salt, no pepper, just a white flour gravy. Meh! My wife's so called Potato Pancakes were just regular Hash Browns with some green onion in it, and some applesauce on the side. As hash browns go, they are fine, but a potato pancake it does not make. She ate about 1 1/2 hash brown patties and gave up. We had to beg for coffee over and over.. and we finally asked to see the manager. A woman in her mid 40s (I think) came over, and I asked her about the dirt and dust. I took my finger and swiped the picture frame face and a huge pile of dust piled on my finger. I did the same thing on the ledge and the same happened. I asked her when it was the last time anyone cleaned. She said "We have not had time to clean this summer" Please remember it is now July 31st. They have gone a couple months w/o cleaning. I asked her why... she said "They are too busy in the summer to clean and will clean after the season" We left w/o leaving a tip and wrote on the receipt to let the Manager tip you with the money they are saving by not hiring a cleaning crew. I took photos to show this mess, but no way to post them here on Yelp, but I will keep them if anyone questions this post. My review 1 to 10 stars (1 bad / 10 very good) Atmosphere 2 Food 2.5 Wait Staff 1 Management -10 Cleanliness -100 Will we go back = Never Did they apologize = Nope Would we recommend it = Yes, if we want to make someone angry at us. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I had no choice, had to let the public know. I think they get away with it because they are on the main drag and most people are "passing through" and are not coming back anyway. They know people will just eat and move on and don't come back as they are just travelers. The owners of Pig 'N Pancake should be ashamed and embarrassed and should fire the manager. Why the health department has not said something is beyond me. I know they can't be paid off in food!

OK, this place is always packed & you get what you expect. It's a touristy stop & big portions of good food. Great menu & it has that air of a classic diner. We always stop at the one in Seaside, OR & this one is the same. The whole family enjoys eating here.

GREAT breakfast! The pancakes were awesome! Better than ihop! The sourdough toast was AMAZING. Everything was perfection. Except that they didn't have sweet tea, but they can't think of everything for my southern heart.

After starving when another restaurant did not serve us for over an hour we finally stopped at Pig N' Pancake. We got there 15 minutes before closing time and I expected the staff to be like, "oh, no another customer just as we want to go home." It was not like that at all. They were really nice and I even bought a souvener mug as a small joke. Good food but the awsome service gets this restaurant 5 stars.

As I have found with many self-proclaimed pancake houses, they specialize in breakfast-even though they have lunch and dinner menu items. So Breakfast is probably what this place does best. However, I made the mistake of ordering lunch. The salad was wilted and watery, the chicken strips were a very low quality and under cooked However, my waitress was efficient and friendly. I didn't feel it was her fault the food was bad. I don't think I will try this place again, but if I do--I will stick with breakfast..

I don't understand why this place is popular. We've been several times, including this morning, and the food and service is consistently mediocre. Breakfast isn't that difficult to cook, but it needs to be hot, especially eggs, and they can't do that. The pancakes aren't hot enough to melt the butter. Most places will provide warm maple syrup which will make up for some of that, but this place doesn't even do that! The maple syrup is in a sticky pitcher on the table. Plus, I asked to substitute buckwheat pancakes and the waitress said sure. I didn't find out there was an extra charge until the bill came. We've been to the Lincoln City Pig N Pancake and it was very good. This wasn't isn't close to that. We must remember to NOT return to this one in Newport.

This is in a newer building. Of course my little one just loves pancakes and any place that has Pancake in it name must be the best place on earth. To a 7 year old this is all true. Pig'n Pancake is a very nice american dinner type restaurant. Very much like a Denny's or Shari's restaurant. But this place is on the coast, open early this morning for breakfast, and the crew were hungry. The food was typical for this type of place. Bella had strawberry pancakes. Go figure. We had eggs, toast and coffee, Ok. The price is good. Not a real exciting place, but it was clean and newish.

Typical 'IHOP' style breakfast. Nothing at all special or unique about it. We had 8 people we went with and they were busy. We all had our food within about 20 minutes, which indicates that none of it is made to order. May as well make it a buffet call it good.

My wife, son, and I went for breakfast here. As a native Oregonian I have fond memories of eating at the Pig N' Pancake as a kid. This is just the place to go if you are looking for a classic, slightly greasy breakfast. My wife and I both ordered the Biscuit and gravy meal. It comes with egg and choice of breakfast meat. Our son got the kids pancake breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were good. The gravy wasn't all that flavorful but the biscuits were big and fluffy and a little pepper and Tabasco really made it a treat. My wife ordered eggs over medium and she liked them and was happy they were cooked the correct amount. The bacon was great and the sausage was pretty good. The pancakes were delicious. Our son, who is two, was delighted and I swear he ate his own weight in pancakes and bacon. I tasted the pancakes and agreed with his delight.

The gluten-free pancakes were good, as was the seafood benedict with a decent hollandaise sauce. Omelette was pretty average. Service was speedy and friendly, which was appreciated for the fact that we had 2 small children with us. Restaurant is spacious, pleasant and clean.

Great, swift, and friendly service. Food was above average for a "breakfast joint". Eggs, fluffy pancakes, bacon, and hashbrowns all tasty. Yum!

YUM! Service was great, place was clean and a cute little gift shop for the kids to look through. The food was delicious! I had the best veggie burger there but the biscuits and gravy were also delicious. The pancakes are a 'do not miss'! Seriously, they are good.

We had a great breakfast here. My kids had french toast and strawberry crepes. My husband has the crab omelet and my eggs benedict with real crab was awesome! I ate every bite and would order it again.

I would have normally given a place like this two stars not because it's horrible but because it's the same as every other breakfast place, a little too much oil in the hash browns and eggs and coffee isn't amazing. Pancakes earn it the third star. I love me some pancakes that actually taste like buttermilk, and theirs hit the spot. I will pass on everything else if there is a next time.

Good food, prices are reasonable. The silver dollar pancakes are like 4 inch round. The service was slow but it was also a rainy Sunday morning around 10:30 so very busy.

I got one egg sunny side up which was greasier than I would ve liked. Hash brown were good. A tad oily though. Strawberry crepes with whipped creame was not good at all. The whipped creame was bad. Bagels and cream cheese was a disappointment. This place has ihop prices but not the quality.

The egg benedict with crab was out of the world yummy! We ordered so many breakfast & side orders just to try. Pancake is awesome, fruit is fresh and delicious. We love the brightness & cleanliness of the restaurant. It was the best breakfast for us during the Oregon Coast trip!

We stopped in for a Monday morning post-camping breakfast to fuel our long drive back to Portland. The man, not having eaten Swedish pancakes before, ordered them crispy when prompted. This was a mistake, as they became nearly inedible. At least until the lingonberry sauce kicked in. I had a sausage and cheese omelette which reminded me of something from Denny's - albeit the cheese was probably Tillamook cheddar instead of plastic. My side of pancakes were fantastic, and the hubs bacon was good, too. Overall not a bad experience, but now that the novelty has worn off, we won't be back.

Quick service. Junior plate & #6 w/side of hash browns split between the two of us. Eggs over easy were cooked correct. Bacon was really good. Hash browns were a tad undercooked Seems fairly easy to me to cook hash browns right. Not this time.. Overall I would comeback but would be choosy about what and how I ordered my meal.

The first thing I noticed about this place was the smell, something strange and chemically that was not appetizing at all. I ordered the strawberry blintz. They were way too sweet all the way through. I understand that this is a dish that is supposed to be sweet, but these were nauseatingly so with no contrast. I don't normally give away my food, but half way through I was offering the rest of my plate to everyone else at the table. My boyfriend says his pancakes were fine but that isn't really saying much. You have to be a terrible cook to screw up buttermilk pancakes. My mom had usual breakfast items: eggs, toast, and hash browns and was nonplussed. My dad had the Swedish pancakes with no comment one way or another. The service was fast and friendly enough but seemed pretty focused on a quick turn around. I wish I could have the half hour of my life spent at this place back.

I went here with my girlfriend this morning, (well technically yesterday now that its 230 A.M.) We traveled from Eugene to stay in Newport and mess around for a little while at the casino in Lincoln city. When we checked into our Motel i saw this place just up the highway and asked the motel owner about this place and he was foreign but said "oh yes, very popular and very good" "People really like" He even said he takes his family there at least once a week. Sorry i know this is all leading up but its worth it. I had no idea what to truly expect since there was bad flooding all week and not many tourists like us for a Sunday morning at a busy place like this. Service was phenomenal!! Hostess was right on it and our waitress was a super sweet younger girl. Now the menu, i saw they served Boyds coffee for cheap but i think Boyds taste like crap. The waitress informed me they have a local organic coffee for a little bit more money and a full espresso bar as well. Me and the girlfriend both had flavored iced white chocolate mochas for only 3 bucks each that were served in to go cups with lids and whipped cream on top!!! The coffee was top notch and delicious. If i lived here i would give the finger to Dutch Bros. and come here just to get a mocha to go. Now for the food.....We go to different coastal towns to get away 4 or 5 times a year to different locations just to get away and i ALWAYS order a crab omelet if it is offered. I cannot stress enough that they served me be a MILE the best crab omelet ive ever had ANYWHERE!!! Thats stretching from Gold Beach and Reedsport to Astoria and everywhere in between. They litterally, (and im not out to dissapoint people) put a 1/4 pound or more of fresh crab caught locally right there in Newport into my omelet. It was beautifull, fluffy and im absolutely craving another. It was sooo good I litteraly asked the waitress to please let the cook know that this is the best damn crab omelet ive ever had. She happily did as we litteraly heard her go straight back and tell the kitchen. Im not lying people, if you love fresh crab and Tillamook Cheddar, for 12.95 its a freaking steal!!! Coupled with shredded hash browns that were cooked perfectly and 5 types of Tabasco it was maybe the best restaraunt breakfast ive ever had. My girl had the taco omelete wich came with generous sides of really quality guac, sour cream and salsa. She downed it in a few minutes and shared the same enthusiasm i had wich made my happiness feel justified. She said "the omelete is so fluffy and cooked perfectly honey" "Best omelete ive ever had by far" She also agreed and the hash browns. Nice and buttery, not greasy or oily at all. The only complaint i have if any is that the toast was middle of the road. Not bad at all and i finishe all but one piece. Just nothing locally baked in house or anything but still good. I had a few non related food questions for the staff as far as how do i get to this place from here and whats a good place to get some local fresh seafood. Not only did they not mind but they drew us maps of how to get from point A to point B and so on. I will proudly preach this place praises like crazy!!! I read some previous reviews before posting this and was puzzled. I guess they must have read some of the negativity and taken it to heart because this place was tidy and spottless. I mean not even a finger streak on the front door. DO NOT TREAD WITH CAUTION. This place is second to none. Total bill for a 1/4 lb. fresh local crab omelete, taco omelete, two V8's and 2 iced mochas to take with us from local organic coffee....31.00. A FREAKING STEAL!!! Not only will we be back, but they have 5 locations along the Northern Oregon Coast. We both agreed when we come back to the coast in March we will stay in a town were one of these restaraunts are or we will stay somewhere where we can get there in reasonable time for breakfast. OPEN ON IN EUGENE!!!!....PLLLLLEEEAAASSEEE!!! Thanks so much, Rian

Ah yes, the welcome sign of a pig eating a pancake apparently lit up my face so much that my sweetie acquiesced to having breakfast there with me. Yup, the city of newport's old historic city hall once the site of many a political decision and perhaps a bastion of civic engagement has now been renovated to house many a local as they decide what breakfast special they want and engage their tummies in gastronomic delights. This morning I indulged in an egg benedict with a slightly oddly yellow hollandaise and fresh crab (lots of it too). we're in a port town after all... aside that eggy hollandaisey dish was just enough hashbrowns to enable sharing with the sweetie who so kindly obliged my not so glamourous breakfast choice. All of which I washed down with some milk coffee (I say this because really, the coffee was quite weak that it only added some color to the half and half I mixed in). ANYWHOO... the surprise delight was that when my sweetie gave me one of her pancakes (uh-huh, I AM the pig with the pancake! ha ha) - i tried one of the syrups that happened to be this blueberry deliciousness. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's something made in small batches at that particular PnP (there's oregon for ya).

Enormous portions, I had the crab omelet and it was delicious. Staff are attentive with water and coffee, environment is fine. Things feel "busy" as there is a steady stream of customers (including kids) making their way through.

Came here for lunch and wasn't expecting a whole lot as it looked like a "chain" restaurant. Ordered the crab eggs Benedict and coffee. It was amazing! Amazing! It was a "special", so I don't know how the other food rates up, but I'd definitely recommend this place.

Awesome breakfast and good service. Like a Dennys but better food. We would go here again. The kielbasa sausage skillet was really good. The eggs benedict with ham and hollandaise sauce was some of the best we have had. You can easily share one plate of food. The portions are great!
