I've never had a problem with the service or food. The portions are large, but all the better to share with the rest of the family :)

You really do great a lot of food for your money. Fresh tasting, never too heavy or too sweet. Friendly staff and great either to go or to stay. Give em a try today!

OK, but far from great, serving the common Americanized Chinese stuff we're all familiar with. I had the Sesame chicken and Pork Fried rice. The seasonings were a bit on the too salty/too much MSG side and could have used a little more variation. The pork in the fried rice was on the skimpy side but the flavor overall was pretty good. They do give very, very generous portions so you won't leave hungry and if you have a few beers or drinks before the meal the slight failings of the cook won't affect you too badly.

Lee's Wok is the kind of place you go if you are looking for cheap, americanized chineese food. The last time I was there (which was a while ago), the decorations were cheap and sparse (plastc flowers, a fish tank with a few goldfish in the entryway), but I am told that they are getting better. The temperature control was never very good. It was clearly a family-run business- one time our waitress had her newborn infant with her while she was taking our order. The portions are HUGE. You should expect to take at least half of your dish home for later. And all the dishes are super cheap! Most of the dishes are pretty americanized (so I am told by my Chinese friends), but they are still decently tasty. The place fills up quickly around noon on Sundays-- it is a hot spot for the post-church supper crowd.

There are several Asian restaurants in Newport, this one is the least appealing. The portions are large and cheap but the food is no better than fast food court style grub. The place does have a full bar if that is important to you. Even in this small coastal community there are much better options.

We are staying in the adjoining Rodeway Inn (same owners) so we just walked over. We had the special for two which included soup, one egg roll cut in half, four large foil wrapped chicken, Pork low mein and a combo dish of shrimp, scallops, pork and chicken with veggies. There was also a bowl of steamed rice. We were only able to eat half of the two entrees and gave the leftover food to a local couple sitting across from us. The food was tasty and we will go back when we are in the area again. $20 - We paid more for lunch earlier today.

Lee's Wok is somewhere that I go EVERY TIME I am in Newport. I go with a bunch of family (6+ people!) and usually get the dinner special. If we have 6 people with us we usually only order for 4 people. The food is delicious. Some of my favorite dishes/appitizers are: Sizzling rice soup, Paper Wrapped Chicken, Green Beans in black bean sauce, Sesame beef, and mushroom chicken. Their sizzling rice soup is AMAZING!

While on vacation in Newport, I stopped by here and ordered sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice. It was less than $8 and came in a massive container that could have fed four or five people easily. I didn't think the chicken was very good. It had a very distinct flavor that I just didn't like and the rice tasted iffy to me. I only ate a little bit of what I bought and sure enough, I spent the night and all the next day heaving my guts out. I will never go here again. I can't even smell Chinese food without gagging which is unfortunate because there are a lot of great Chinese restaurants in my town.

Lees is a good restaurant but has room for improvement. The value is fantastic! And the food was all well-made for all of our meals. The server we got didn't give us much attention though and we stole silverware from another table, ordered a drink 1 minute before we left, and we saw a dog on the other side of the restaurant...pretty awkward! But overall not bad.

My wife and I, who are both Chinese, wanted to try some Chinese food in Newport. We were both here to frolic on the beach and enjoy the sun for the weekend. Given the reviews, we decided to try this place. We both think we know our Chinese pretty well, and we found this place to be fantastic! Ingredients were very fresh, flavor very authentic and the portions were enormous. If you are in the area and want great bang for the buck, look no further.

Just had our dinner there. it's Christmas Day. Finally saw one restaurant open, though the rating was not high. Quite pleasantly surprised. The dinner was good. The restaurant was clean. Recommend stirfried beef with onions.

The menu offered everything you could ask for - not just "Chinese," but several styles - Schewan, Hunan, Cantonese. The portions are HUGE! Enough for a second meal.

Not that good and they messed up our order. The best Chinese food in Oregon is at Kowloon restaurant in Roseburg Oregon.

This is my challenge to you. Tell me a place on the planet that has better Kung Pao Chicken. This is the best I have ever had! Not to mention am amazing bang for the buck. You can get several meals out of an order. I always get mine to go. Chicken with Broccoli is also tops. You have to hunt to find the broccoli because they give you so much chicken! YUM. I haven't deviated too much from these two items because I know they are winners. One of my favorites on the central Oregon coast.

Really wanted to try this restaurant because of the great reviews but ended up leaving after standing at front desk for 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from 3 separate people. 1 woman clearly worked in the Lounge and went back and forth to kitchen twice, which is understandable. Second woman walked by us 3 separate times and said nothing. A man who we assumed was the owner who was wearing a sweater and slacks also walked by us standing there waiting 3 times and said nothing to us. As we were walking away the 2nd lady who originally walked by came up to the counter and asked the people behind us if they were waiting for a takeout order. We were dressed very clean and nice and felt very neglected. We understand if a place is busy but with no acknowledgement from 3 people... Even simply saying, "we'll be right with you in a moment"... That's unacceptable and they don't deserve our money, no matter how good their food may or may not be. Disappointed.

Hot and sour soup was the best I've ever had! Loved my veggie stir fry with special sauce (wasn't on menu, but I asked if they could make it and they did, wonderfully.)

This place is a gem in Newport!! You can't find any other better Chinese restaurant than this place I tell you. This place is a family owned restaurant. So don't be alarmed if the owner's kid is serving you. They do an excellent job and is very professional for their age. Now let me break it down for you... Ambience: semi-loud; really good for large groups and kids; has a lot of tables and comfy booths available; good lighting; bright interior; and extremely clean environment. Doesn't have that icky wet towel smell like most restaurants. Thank god! And u can fmake reservations for private parties. Food: Damn this place is good! Their portion size is huge! One plate can literally feed 2.. and can I say CHEAP for the amt of food u get. Best of all u can request the chief to make it however you want. Like less sodium, no starch added, no peanuts, less sugar, etc. Some of my favorites are: crab cream cheese wonton (aka crab rangoon), honey walnut shrimp, BBQ pork, sizzling rice soup, wonton soup, sesame chicken, szechuan green beans, lemon chicken, beef chow fun, pork low mein. ps... Lee's also has a full bar service and gambling machines in the next room called the Bamboo Lounge. The bartenders are so sweet, can make anything you want, and they make the yummiest, strong drinks. Best of all, the lounge is non-smoking, can eat inside, drink, gamble, and watch TV.

Although I am not a big fan of Chinese food, this place is good. And the portions are huge. Check out the menu at LeesWokNewport.com and pick up the phone to order.

Best Chinese retsaurant in Newport. Hands down! After a long night came in and was served very fast. Came in on a friday night. The waitresses are kind and quick. First we ordered the Wonton Soup. AMAZING! Delicious and perfectly spiced. Very good. Next was the Beef Potstickers. Probably the size of my fist, but nontheless very good. Crisp, tasty, and delicious. Then we had the Beef with Broccoli. Another top-notch dish. But the dish could feed all of Newport. But I dont care about the portion size. It could've been gigantic portions or the size of a dish at the French laundry and I still wouldve been satisfied. Lastly we ordered Chicken Pan-Fried Chow Mein. BEST DISH OF THE NIGHT!!! It had everything in an amazing meal. Delicious noodles!! Anyways, the main idea is clear. It was amazing. I've never been disgusted and the waitresses are really nice. Job well done Lee's Wok!

Never been disappointed in the food here. Service is slow but worth the wait. Huge portions. Mongolian Beef is excellent.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
