Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for High Cholesterol

Keep your pizza intake to one slice to avoid high cholesterol intake while you dine at Pizza Hut. Skip Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice as it contains a high amount of fat and the sodium levels are also very high. Avoid the desserts section completely to limit the fat and sugar intake. Haven't been into this Izzy's in years but have always measured all others by this location in Newport. The food did not disappoint. Everything was hot and prepared great. Service was quick and friendly. I have had bad experiences at other locations where the food and or service was very poor, not here. Best Izzy's bar none! The view of the beach couldn't be better given it was a nice sunny day. The only thing I could say wasn't great was the pizza, some of it had been sitting a while and was not as hot and fresh as the other food.

Super disappointed with this Izzys. I am a big fan of Izzys. Buffet and Pizza... What more could a girl want? So when I saw that there was an Izzys on the way to our Hotel... I was extremely excited and begged my husband to let us stop here... Big mistake. The place looks run down. They were out of almost EVERYTHING... And only had 1-2 trays of pizza (which were empty). I lost my appetite as soon as I tasted the pasta... It's like they added water to the marinara. Not ok! The view is great. The service is "ok". Will not be visiting here again.

I was given very strict orders, by the husband and tween, to give this place a five star rating. I debated with them and tried to get a consensus for four stars (after all, it IS just a pizza buffet) but they simply wouldn't hear of it. My husband said that the fried chicken is to live for and enjoyed the grilled veggies. The tween loved sampling a little bit of everything, but gives them mad props on their green beans! Yes, you read that right - BOTH of them loved their veggies. And I was content with the fresh salad bar and pizza choices. On our second visit, we tried the fresh grilled to order options - grilled steak and tacos. We will certainly dive into the tacos again. The steak was a nice option, but unseasoned. Probably just skip it. Dessert wise - welcome to cinnamon roll and chocolate lava cake heaven! They go quick, so you better grab them while they are there, or you'll have to wait a while before they have another batch ready. As a side note, bathrooms were sparkly clean with gorgeous fresh flower arrangement. While it is not gourmet, the family will leave full and satisfied. We will certainly be back. This buffet has amazing ocean view too.

When visiting Newport we always stop by this Izzy's. The food is always good and all stations are always clean. The staff is friendly and are on top of requests when addressed. If you go get a window sit. You will not be disappointed with the view.

Not a good experience this time. There was hardly any pizza and it was not that busy. The pizza they did have was stale. When new pizza would come out there would be a line 4-7 people long due to lack of food. Food trays were empty more often than not. I would not recommend. The restaurant does have a nice view though.

The food isn't terrible. Pizza is hard to mess up. They do a decent amount of toppings and the sauce and cheese was alright. But the dough is definitely frozen/store bought. It's all good though. I went to pick it up and the girls working the counter were nice. I tipped them $5 and suddenly they got nicer. Which was good. It was funny how they changed though. And- this place is very expensive...

I used to love going to Izzy's. My husband and I were going to this location for the past 12 years. The last couple of times I have noticed the food quality to diminish. The food I ate was absolutely uneatable. I tried the macaroni and cheese, and it had not flavor and barely warm. I was wondering why that was, and then I saw one of the workers pour a pitcher of water into the macaroni and cheese and the sweet and sour chicken. I was really disgusted that someone would pour water into food that was already cooked in the steam trays. All it does it lower the temperature, water down the food and cause it to have no flavor. My husband ordered a steak well-done. When he got it the steak was so rare that you could not even cut the meat with a knife. I told the manager on duty and all he said was he would speak to his staff about the concerns that I have. He took my debit card and charged us for our meals without an apology or some type of compensation. We will not be returning to this establishment. I'd rather eat somewhere else next time I am in Newport, Oregon.

Izzy's is a locally owned and operated restaurant on the top of a hill with an incredible view of Agate Beach and the highway. It seems that all they do are the buffet so come here with an appetite. We came for dinner and sat in the window. The service was good but the atmosphere is a little like Denny's. We started out with the salad bar and it was great. Everything was fresh and crisp, the dressings are delicious and I thought the selection was pretty comprehensive. They even list how many calories are in each dressing and pre-made salad, which I thought was pretty cool. Then we tried some of the "shiny food" as my boyfriend called it. Fried chicken, pizza, pulled pork and mac and cheese. The fried chicken was decent, actually, but the pork was dry and chewy, the pizza was greasy and not good, and the mac and cheese was mushy and utterly tasteless. What a disappointment. It all *looked* so good. We'd ordered coffee, which our waiter made fresh, and I have to say that it was really good coffee! Hot and strong and not bitter. We drank several cups. He told us the special of the night was riblets and steak. We had a few of the riblets -- which you order from the woodfired oven -- and they were delicious. I concluded that the way to do Izzy's is to eat from the salad bar and the specials from the woodfired grill. They also had fish tacos, which I'd completely forgotten about and wish I'd tried them instead of that shiny stuff.

This use to be the best Izzy's there was... but not any more. We ate here on a Thursday, and was sick all day Friday, Saturday. The food has gone way down hill, and the servers are the worst. This is a Never again will we visit place. This has become one of the worse places in Newport to eat.

Yes, the view is outstanding. But I didn't come here for the view. Went for lunch. First time at an Izzy's in more than a dozen years; it used to be one of our more favorite guilty meals out. They had only one variety of veggie pizza, and no BBQ or other chicken pizza, the entire hour we were there; quite disappointing. The pesto veggie slice I had was so-so; it may have been out too long. The items in the hot buffet were mostly forgettable, but included some of the ones I remember (baked beans, corn, potatoes, etc.), plus chicken, of course. In addition to the BBQ chicken, they now have other kinds, such as a very good dry rub buffalo. The salad bar was decent, except I didn't find a salad dressing I liked among the numerous offerings; oh, well. For dessert, they had some fruit, a lot of different kinds of cookies, non-dairy ice cream (an oxymoron), and other items. I fondly remembered their cinnamon rolls, but the one I had was a considerably smaller, less interesting version (or my memory is poor!). They also had 2 other kinds of buns (some kind of chocolate one, and an upside down pineapple), both of which seemed better. It could be due to freshness, as I think the others were put out more recently. It's too bad they can't better manage how long those stay out, as they lose their appeal quickly. An OK meal, but not the one my memory craved. 2.5 stars, but upgraded to 3 for that view.

Are you a fan of Shakey's Bunch-of-Lunch buffet? Well, Izzy's will hit the spot for you. In fact, as you'll see on Izzy's website, Izzy's restaurants came out from under the Shakey's franchisee wings. So no surprise when you start piling up your plates and recognize Shakey's familiar Mojo potatoes. Not much else to say -- it's your standard budget buffet. You're not going to get anything particularly outstanding nor particularly awful. I wouldn't bother with their fancy grill items (Hawaiian pulled pork, riblets, etc.) as they weren't exactly anything to write home about. What's nice too is that it's a fairly small restaurant -- at least compared to Hometown Buffets -- so it's not too much of a zoo in there. And as others have noted, several tables have a spectacular postcard view of Agate Beach below. Real scenic! If you come in for lunch, you can walk off some of the calories you gorged on by heading out to the Yaquina Bay lighthouse just up the way from Izzy's

After reading the reviews here I decided to give this place a try. The offer of a salad buffet and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean were great calling cards. They call themselves a classic buffet including grill. Lunces are $8.99 and dinner is $11.99 with senior discount. Pretty good prices! There were good varieties of items in the buffet. Pizza, for which they claim is a specialty, was excellent and again several types of pizza were offered. One unusual item not often seen were grilled veggies. The desserts included things like cinnamon rolls and cookies and ice cream. Enough choices for the entire family, young and old. There were only 2 ladies serving everyone so service was a bit lacking. But the view of the ocean while you ate more than made up for that.

Our first time at an Izzy's. Great view, good food and great value. Good ribs and tri-tip and lots of other options. My picky kids were even dancing out to the car, so that's a win. Only reason for 4 stars is we lost our waitress for 15 mins and our glasses went empty. Not a big deal, but should be mentioned.

I had high hopes because of my recent experience at the Redmond location. Unfortunately, price is directly related to how much I enjoy the food. Did you know that on Saturday and Sunday they charge dinner prices all day? For what reason, I cannot fathom, for there is really no difference. At any rate, I had two ten year olds and an infant in tow, and in no way was I going to attempt to eat somewhere decent OR wait in line for the popular places. The pizza here was dead; no one was eating it, so it had been sitting around a while. Lame. The salad bar was not nearly as exciting as the Izzy's in Redmond. The view was pretty good, though. Way too good for Izzy's.

The view of the beach, from high on the cliff, is spectacular. Sorry to say, the food was not. This is a buffet place. Although they advertise themselves as a pizza place, the pizza is third rate, at best. The salad bar was average. The steak, while small, was surprisingly good, however.

This place gets 4 stars for ONE reason and ONE reason only. THE VIEW!!!!!!! and maybe the price. Lets be real... the food isn't great here... the service is Meh, but the view is breath taking. You can see the ocean from EVERY seat in the place. Great ocean view, all you can eat for $8-$12 SIGN ME UP. I will keep going back for the view, the rest of it could use some improvement... It's worth it though.

Had to update and drop this one from a 2 star to a one star. Salad bar was the only thing edible at this place. Most of the food was dried out and the pizza wasn't freshly cooked the entire time we were there. Too bad, the place has a great view, what a waste.

The reviews don't do it justice. Food was fresh and flavorful. Ribs were fantastic and so was the popcorn chicken and mashed potatoes. I which they had fries tho, but will definitely be back.

I'm so, so, soooooo glad that I did not read these reviews before trying this place out for myself! My family & I just moved to Newport and Izzy's was the first place we ate at. We've been in Newport for 3 weeks now and have been there at Izzy's 3 times. Each time has been a great experience. The view is spectacular and each time I look out I can't help but be amazed that we actually live here! The food is great. Hands down, they make the BEST cinnamon buns I've ever had! I've pretty much tried everything now and there hasn't been a single item that I didn't like. We've gone twice for brunch and once for dinner. I didn't quite catch on to the the steak/bbq ordering system at the grill the first time but picked up the routine the second time around. Always included is your typical salad bar with all the fixings as well as pasta salads etc. The brunch food pretty much covers all the standard breakfast items and this out-of-this-world french toast concoction. Lunch items include baked (or fried?) potato slices, veggies, pulled pork, bbq, fried chicken, etc. I can't remember all the details for dinner but can tell you that the ribs and steak are delicious! I would say the servers is the only reason why I'm not giving Izzy's that fifth star. They are not rude or anything like that, just a bit slow on drink orders and billing. Considering that is the only service that I can visibly see they provide, waiting for over 15 minutes for our credit card to be processed seems a bit much, especially when at that particular instance, the restaurant was half full... and I never even got my drink order. :( I would still recommend this place and will continue to eat here. I'm hoping that after a few more times, I'll be able to update this review and add that fifth star!

Nice location...especially if you are looking over the ocean. The food is typically Izzys fare. The buffett seemed to be better stocked with pizza, versus the pathetic Salem location. The place was busy when we went, but it didn't seem too crowded inside, even though the place seemed smaller. Izzys does have great pizza...so that is what you should come for. Their salad bar is average, at best. But this location is a good one.

I went to Izzy's years ago and was less then impressed. Well, my boyfriend and I thought we'd give it another try beings that Newport doesnt have much of a selection when it comes to restaurants. Big big BIG mistake. We waited about 10 minutes to get seated by a unfriendly waitress who sat us at a booth overlooking the water. First thing i notice as soon as i sat down was my arm stuck to the table. GROSS.. especially since i watched her "clean" the table off right before we sat down. It was very sticky. I took some of my hand sanitizer and a napkin and recleaned it myself. The food was not good either-the only thing i ate were a few Jo Jo's and some cheese pizza. Not a big selection which means as soon as someone brings out "fresh" food everyone jumps from there table to get some. The only thing i liked about this place was the view...the restaurant over looked the water which was nice. Anyway, if you're in the newport area this would not be my first suggestion.

Oh I looooved Izzy's when I was a kid. Izzy's is an all-you-can-eat buffet style restaurant. The food is decent (at least when I went there... it's been a few years). They are known for their pizza but everything they serve in restaurant is decent. They deliver, but some of the other pizza joints are probably better for delivery. This place has GREAT views of the ocean. You can watch the surfers catch waves in the cove below. Watching the sunset from here is great. You can see miles and miles of pristine Oregon coast beaches.

This is the best Izzys I've ever been too. We had a party of eight and were seated right away with an ocean view! Our drinks were waiting for us by the time we got back with our food. They have a huge selection and everything I tried tasted wonderful. All this for a great price. =)
