Food was good, had a French dip and vegetable beef soup. The soup was homemade and delicious. The service was good and they were very friendly!

Stopped for lunch. It is a diner atmosphere but the salads were excellent. Super fresh ingredients. This place is also reasonably clean. The service was great. I the little extras that I asked for with a smile. Good basic food. I would come back.

We were in town to drop off our daughter at college. My in-laws had already checked out this restaurant. boy, were they right! Delicious food, fabulous service, Joan the server was fantastic and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back for sure! We highly recommend this restaurant that has been in business since 1955.

Stopped in here by chance on a quiet Friday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly, approachable waitress whose service was without fault. I had the Jalepeno burger and my boyfriend had the Spicy BBQ burger. We were both pretty impressed; the burgers were stacked full of delicious ingredients, fresh and packed full of flavour. Not cheap but reasonable and pretty delicious. Worth a visit.

The food here is decent. Some things are overpriced, like oatmeal. Most things are smaller portions, though some of the skillets are larger. As far as atmosphere goes, the place is decently remodeled now! Overall it's a nice friendly little establishment that I would go to again.

We were in the area and looking for American food. J's filled the bill. Had the best service we could ask for from Joan the waitress. Food was great, prices just as expected. Will return when we are in the area again.

My buddy and I stopped for breakfast on the way home from fishing. Our server was super hometown friendly and referred to me sweetie, doll and honey. I had the Cajun skillet- hash browns with fresh green bell pepper chunks, onions and "cajun" sausage topped with melted jack and two perfectly cooked over easy eggs. It was nothing fancy nor did it claim to be. It was a little steep at 10 bucks but it was a good solid filling breakfast.

Okay so its ugly inside. I mean Denny's seems hip compared. Breakfast foods are tasty enough, but pricey. I made the mistake of trying dinner there also. The seafood alfredo was worse than a frozen dinner. They might have other tastier options, but judging by what I've sampled it a last resort type of place.

Hello, blue haired special! I'd been to this place once before--about six years ago--and I remember it being a dump. And my salad almost inedible. So when one of my friends suggested we come here yesterday for its coziness, I was just a li'l hesitant, but acquiesced seeing it'd been so long. Indeed! J's had done a bit of remodeling, and while the booths remained, the back area was homey in the way that Shari's or IHOP is. There are lots of standards on the menu--grilled cheese, burgers, chicken strips, etc., and I settled on the Southwestern Chicken Salad. Service was nice, and pretty down-home, and you could tell that the clientele were mostly regulars...probably older people who came directly from their bingo game down the street. Of course, this is all speculation. Food came...wasn't bad, but for $9+, I'd expect my salad to have a little more...pizazz...and not be filled with iceberg lettuce. At least opt for Romaine if you can't get the baby greens! And my friend apologized up and down because it was wilty. I'm not sure what else I expected. The chicken was pretty flavorful, but the lettuce just sort of ruined it for me. I think that if you're going to charge that much for the food, you might as well use quality ingredients. I think it's awesome that this place has been around so long (it's clearly a town establishment), but I doubt they'll be catering much to the younger crowd any time soon.

One of my favorites while attending WOU. Went regularly for a taste of semi-home cooking. Went back over the weekend for the first time since graduating 3 years ago, and it was about what I remembered. Cozy atmosphere, good service, and pretty decent food. Got the chili burger, my old favorite. It was still close to what I remember, but the recipe for the chili seems to have changed a bit. Still nice and hearty, and the burger was good. Also like the fact that you don't have to get french fries. You can also get potato salad or just a good ol fashion green salad. Oh, and get a desert. They are HUGE. Hubby and I split a mud pie. Yum! And plenty to share. Plus, who doesn't love ice cream with a cherry on top? Good experience, and always fun to relive the old college experience.
