They would get zero if their food wasn't decent. Customer service is terrible. Their menu under "burgers" says: chilli burger.....$9.59 at the top burgers come with choice of fries. Nowhere does it say chilli served with a burger open faced buried somewhere inside. But yet that's what I got. We live a few mins. Away so my wife called and explained what we were served and the waitress/hostess apologized and said they'll make a new one and what did I want. My wife said just a bacon cheese burger (which is the same price.) She came back on the line and said that the chilli burger is served open face and that's the way it is. If we wanted another we'd have to pay for it. I'm not going back. It's a shame they won't own up to their mistakes. Extremely Poor customer service.

Place has really good food but I don't go here anymore because it has just gone up in price so much and the portions haven't increased. They so serve their food on styrofoam well they did when I went in and my order wants to go. The breakfast is awesome but you can go across the street to Jaspers and get just as good breakfasts same price and portion just at a nicer place. Jasper's just doesn't have as many breakfast options.

I live locally, and decided to ride my motorcycle to work, stopping by the Hitching Post for breakfast, around 9:30am. Not busy, but local regulars filled the long front table. I walk in, silence........ I take a menu, and take a look at it, and decide to have eggs, bacon, well done hash browns, and toast. And a coffee. The waitress looks me up and down as I ask if I may sit outside. Her reply was somewhat confused, but the answer was no, so inside I sat. I had asked her for a cup of coffee and water before I sat down. 10 minutes go by, she's served coffee to all the regulars at the long table, and my cup remains dry. No water either. She finally comes to take my order, and I again ask for coffee and water. Nothing. 10 minutes later, the food arrives, and soggy hash browns, and dry toast. When I ordered, I specifically asked for well done hash browns, and she somewhat rudely pointed to her pad showing me she had wrote "crispy HB". So much for the cooks ability to read, and the waitresses ability to provide good service. About the only positive thing I can say is that the eggs were cooked as I like them, over easy. I'd avoid this place unless you are a regular, an elderly person, or like mediocre food and poor service. I will not be back again.

I had not been to the Cafe in a month and when I returned, Tiffany remembered what I have and how I like it prepared. With all the customers, she remembered my favorite dish and no doubt what many others have. Good food and a top notch server. Thank you!

I love this restaurant! One of the few places to grab a yummy breakfast in Molalla. I bring all of my friends when they visit...and they LOVE IT! Friendly speedy service too!

Good old fashioned cooking makes for great food. Healthy portion. Service usually ok - good. Try an omelette or pancakes both will be delicious

Rude service. The waitress was mean and yelled because I didn't know what to order after two minutes. They make their food ahead and keep it hot so they are mean if you want to modify. Used to be good and now they have gone way down hill. I won't go again. They would get one star but the coffee and hash browns did taste good, that is, if you can taste them through the tears of anger at being treated so rudely!

Had breakfast this morning at Jills Hitchin post. Not going to get too detailed but here it is. Super friendly server. Great simple egg hashbrown and bacon breakfast. Toast was a higher quality bread than I see at most little breakfast joints. Saw some killer looking omelletes come out of the kitchen and was told by another customer she does some great fried oysters. I will definitely go back. Also would like to correct the no alcohol as I see they are serving beer and wine.

Stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful so we ate on their patio. They were busy, so the staff took a bit to get to our table. This really wasn't an issue because we were enjoying the day. We were brought coffee and water and our cups never went dry. In fact I don't think I have had my coffee refreshed as often anywhere else. I wasn't really too hungry so I ordered their Belgian Waffle. For the price I would have thought it would have been a little more than the waffle you get for free at most hotel continental breakfasts these days. My dining companions both ordered breakfasts as well. The home sausage patty was impressive that was brought as a side to my partner. I was a little taken aback that they brought ketchup and Tabasco sauce to our table only to take it away again after a few minutes because another table needed it. Perhaps they should get enough to cover all their tables. Apart from that, the ambiance and setting was wonderful. This is a nice place with friendly staff. I hope to come back someday to try their lunch and dinner fare.

American breakfast done right. One of the best classic American breakfasts in the Canby / Molalla area, and huge portions too. I can't eat these big breakfasts very often anymore, but when I do, I opt for the HP's French toast, bacon, and hash browns. I can do my own French toast and bacon just about as well as the Hitchin' Post, but it's the fresh hash browns that I *must have* when I'm there. You can actually taste potato flavor, unlike the frozen strings that so many restaurants use these days. The pancakes are pretty good, too. If I were to choose a place to have a "last breakfast on the planet", this would be it...

Had breakfast with a client on Tuesday morning. There was a $4.95 special that sounded great: one egg, one bacon or sausage, hash browns and a pancake. It was such a value, and absolutely delicious. Everything cooked PERFECTLY! The bacon at this place is like no bacon I've had anywhere--so big and thick and tasty....you definitely have to get the bacon here if you are a bacon lover! The coffee cup was topped off at least half a dozen times while we were there. My husband and I try to come in for breakfast on Sundays when you can get a HUGE slice of amazing Prime Rib, two eggs, hash browns, and toast for about $12! We take most of it home and enjoy it for dinner, too! Quick, friendly service. The waitresses are always at a run, and the cooks in the back often come out to refill coffee and water glasses. Friendly, country-cowboy ambiance...the locals fill this place up and the happy banter makes for a nice atmosphere. I made a couple of new friends waiting for my client! The owner, Jill, often cooks, but comes out and says Hello to the patrons when she can, and sincerely thanks them for coming in with her big, friendly smile! The decor is cowboy/rodeo/country, very homey and humble. This is the perfect small-town, hole-in-the-wall local restaurant with amazing breakfasts and lunches. The dinners are probably great, too, in a way of burgers and such, but I haven't had the opportunity to join them for an evening meal. I recommend that you go, have a meal, say hello to the folks at the next table, and enjoy true country hospitality at Jills Hitchin Post.

I like this place, but I can only comment on breakfast and lunch. The food is standard all American, ya know, a little bit greasy like most home cookin' diners, but still satisfactory and at good prices. I do have to say that I want to shower after ever visit because I feel sticky from syrup and feel like my hair smells like bacon/breakfast potatoes.... Last time I was there I got the sweet potato waffle. It was surprisingly good. The pancakes and hash browns are good, too. I've even got lunch there, and it was ok, but not as satisfying as the breakfast and I wouldn't return for lunch. What really makes this place good is the customer service. They are unbelievably nice and friendly inside. If you come during rush hour breakfast time on a weekend it can take a little bit to get your food, but only because there are so many people there to enjoy the atmosphere (and theres like no other restaurants in Molalla). My friend wanted to know if their raisins had sulfates. She asked our waitress and the waitress brought out the bag of raisins that they use and let my friend read the bag and decide if it was satisfactory. It was so helpful! They really are kind, honest, and want you to have a great experience. Okay American diner food, nothing special, BUT really good prices and good service.

I was previously a critic but the last two times I have visited, the staff was friendly and the food was good. In addition, they seem to be able to get you your order super quick which is awesome. Bacon is much tastier than it was before. Good food.

Great food. Big portions. Friendly service. You know a place is good when it is where the locals go.
