This place is phenomenal and very reasonably priced. Every time I go to Mcminnville for business I eat here no matter what. Go try it! Red Curry :)

It's astoundingly good Thai cuisine! Favorite is Green Chicken Curry! Love the authentic decor too. Trying to get the owners to let me have the carved teak couch by the entrance. Sublime!

Awesome! Ordered pad thai yesterday for takeout. Couldn't even leave the parking lot I was so busy eating. It was delicious. Lots of vegetables perfectly cooked and a lots of noodles deliciously spicy as I requested. Tofu pieces were good sized and lots of fresh peanuts and bean sprouts. Could not ask for more. And if you follow my reviews you will see I review mostly Thai restaurants. Well done! I can't wait to visit again on my next trip to McMinnville!

Delicious! Friendly people and yummy food. I usually get the chicken pad thai, but the pra rham, lemongrass chicken salad, and Panang Curry are also great.

One of my favorite restaurants! The staff is very friendly and the food is always incredible. I love the complimentary soup that comes with lunch (I believe it's tom kah, but I haven't asked). I wish they'd put it in jars and sell it so that I could have it at home! This place made living in McMinnville bearable.

Love this local thai place downtown McMinnville. Very prompt service and always friendly.

I love this place. My husband and I come here often and we are never disappointed. I usually get the Pra Ram. The pineapple coconut curry is also really good. I love their spring rolls as an appetizer. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are great. You get big servings too which is awesome.

This is the best Thai food in the area and would compete with many other Thai places outside of McMinnville. They know how to make the staples really well and got me addicted to curry! I have been to other restaurants who don't put as much vegetables in their curry as this place. I feel like Thai Country has spoiled me and miss this place. It is pretty reasonably priced too.

This isn't the best Thai food in town, it's the best in the state. Great menu with Thai Coffee, fresh fruit drinks. The Ghang Ga Ree (sp?) is perfect and the BBQ chicken is great to share and you can tell time was taken in slow cooking it. Makes Typhoon look pretty sad.

Just to make sure it wasn't just college nostalgia that left me longing for the best Thai Food I have ever consumed, I have been back dozens of times since graduation. I can confirm this is a true culinary love. Aside from the delicious food, superb and friendly service, a great location (super cute Third Street in McMinnville) and really affordable prices will always keep Thai Country in my heart. If you are ever in the are for lunch, enjoy some lunch at Thai Country. All meals come with a yummy soup!

I had never had Thai food prior to having Thai Country Restaurant's food, and never had the desire to try Thai food. The main reason for my hesitation is because I'm allergic to coconut, and Thai food is notorious for having coconut in its food. Well, my husband brought home a chicken pad Thai platter, which doesn't contain coconut, for me to try. My taste buds were in heaven! And, my mouth was angry that I had not tried this before. My Thai food-loving friends think that this restaurant has the best Thai food in the Willamette Valley and greater Portland area.

Love love love the Pad Thai spicy. The soup is delicious. The food is authentic and perfectly spiced. This was the only spot in McMinnville I actually loved. Will eat there anytime I go back.

A very delightful place for a meal. Prices are in line with the quality of the food. The staff is attentive and I've never had to wait there. I've had the seafood soup but my go to has become the pad kee mao. Beware it is farely spicy. Definitely recommend this place to people craving some thai.

Love going there. Been there for dates, and the food is always great. Had noodles which were cooked perfectly and teriyaki chicken which was amazing! Only warning: portions are pretty big.

  • Maddy B.

This is definitely some of the best Thai food I have ever eaten, and at a fantastic price! I like to get their lunch deals ($7), and the portion sizes are great for the price. I am quite full when I am finished. Since this is one of my favorite restaurants, I eat here somewhat frequently and have tried quite a few menu items, and nothing has been short of DELICIOUS. Everything is flavorful and well cooked and basically perfect. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant and the service is good. There is honestly nothing negative I can say about this restaurant!

Maybe I just have low Thai standards but I haven't really met a Thai restaurant that I haven't liked, and Thai Country is no exception. I had the Pad Thai (which is my baseline for a new restaurant) and it was great! The spring rolls were really good too. The restaurant has a good amount of seating for busy nights and the wait staff is really nice. Glad there's a great Thai option in McMinnville!

Great food... quick service... amazing flavor. Everything was great!!! Got the fried fish with chili and garlic... light light fry on the fish. Amazing flavor on the sauce. I got it spicy and it was perfect

I've been here a few times now with my wife's family. They love the place and are regulars. I've been observant to see if this place lives up to their hype about it, and after a few visits, i have to say it is really good. I have enjoyed each dish I've tried here so far, and the service has been pretty good too. Recommendations: pad thai; pineapple fried rice; massaman curry.

I have gone here twice now since getting into town 3 days ago, and both times the waiter told me that he couldn't serve me because the restaurant was going to close in 1/2 hour from the time I walked in. This happened at lunch today and I was shocked. It's not like I walked in with 2 minutes left -- there's a big clock right in plain sight and we both could see that there was a full 1/2 hour left. Rude, as others have mentioned. Anyhow, the food was good, and it was delivered to me in a to-go container within 2 minutes of ordering. I had the massumun curry and it was good. But, I had to eat it sitting on the curb, which took away from the experience. Next time I am going to go an hour before they close so that I can get the restaurant experience I have been hoping to have.

Ruuuude! As soon as we walked in, the worker told us that we needed to order to go, we couldn't sit in. Ok, fine, it was a little past 9 and they closed at 930, that's fine. There were still a ton of people in the restaurant, so I doubt everyone would've cleared out by 930. One of my gfs really wanted to sit in and so she asked the guy if we could please just eat in, especially since we all already knew what we wanted to order. She also told him that we'd be quick. He just flat out told her no, told her that it'd take at least 15 minutes to make the food so then we wouldn't have much time to eat. And then a woman behind the counter with him came over and obviously irritated said, we stop seating at 9, sorry. Wow, there were 7 of us in our party ready to order and spend a good amount of money. Never had a place so adamant about keeping us from eating there! I understand they wanted to close up and get out on time, but I've never been somewhere that was so willing to turn away customers just to do so. And like I said before, there were a ton of people still in there! No way they would've cleared out before closing, and we definitely would have been mindful about how much time we spent there. Poor poor customer service.

Absolutely delicious. A hole in the wall place in old town. Fresh ingredients and great prices. We stopped there on a yelp recommendation and they were right

Sometimes the best Thai food in the Portland metro area isn't even in Portland! We have eaten at a number of Thai restaurants over the years. We give them an almost 5 star. 4.5-4.75 star. Every year we try and make it to McMinnville for the UFO festival but we make a special point to stop in and dine here. This restaurant is located on the main drag so you would be hard pressed to miss it. Their hot and sour soup is some of the best I have ever had ever and their curry is outstanding. Salad rolls are fresh and crisp. This time I opted for the drunkn noodle which was ok but I ended up sneaking into my husbands curry bowls. The massamen curry is a 5/5 over all in my book. I just couldn't stop eating it. This place use to be a 5/5 star for us but it still get the award for pretty much the best! Friendly service, cool carved elephant chairs as seating options. This is a casual jeans and t-shirt type place no need to dress up. Thai food fans should note that this place is closed on Sunday. There is a menu added to the photo section for this place. Doing the patrons a favor since one cannot find the menu online anywhere. Your welcome!!!

Thai is always one of my staple favorites and everywhere I've lived since McMinnville, I find myself comparing their Thai restaurants to Thai Country and their amazing food! Appetizers, noodle or rice dishes, and curries are all amazingly flavorful. Prices are similar to most Thai restaurants you will find, but service is always friendly and fast! Never any complaints here! Running joke with my family is that even their water tastes great (seriously, something is different with it and it's delicious!) I will always love coming here and will continue to compare all my future Thai experiences to here :)

I love me some Thai food. I was in Mac visiting a friend who was also in the mood for it. Their salad rolls didn't wow me, and their pad thai was pretty decent, as was the peanut sauce. We ordered to go, so I don't have much to say about the service. Their Thai Iced coffee was a little too floral for me. I would give this place two stars, the prices were not great, especially for the quality of the food. A good quantity on the pad thai, but I'd rather them impress me based on the taste. However, considering the town it's located in, I'll go ahead and give it an A-OK. If someone else gets in the Thai business down here, this place will need to get it's act together.

Good service. Gets a little packed around lunch time from all the close by county workers. Start with a spicy curry soup and had the pad garlic. Very fast. This place was originally recommended to me by a local and it didn't fail too impress. Good prices too. $8 for lunch.

Usually pretty good food, but several times we have had to wait 20-30 minutes to be seated even though there are multiple empty tables. Very nice family who owns and runs it. Order the hot tea--a delicious house blend of Jasmine and Green tea!

This place is homey, clean, and comfortable. I was greeted, seated, and given a menu and water almost immediately. I ordered cashew chicken stir fry and salad rolls with peanut and sweet and sour sauce. The salad rolls and peanut sauce were good and tasted fresh, but nothing earth shattering. My stir fry was quite tasty and for "medium spice" had just the right amount of heat to it. Service was very prompt. I would return here again.

We love Thai food and Thai Country Restaurant was the perfect, casual way to end a day of tastings. We opted to dine in. The Golden Prawns were simple and delicious. My husband said they were the best he has ever had. Both entrees (we ordered the Pad Kee Mao and the Spicy Green Bean) were awesome and HUGE! We took the leftovers back to our rental for a late night snack the next day. If you are looking for a casual lunch or dinner in McMinnville, Thai Country Kitchen is hard to beat.

I Love Thai Country-- excellent service, good beer choices, great food. Top choices are: salad rolls, Tom Kha Gai soup, any of the curry choices. Also, they have good pad Thai, which can be hard to find.

Love this place! The food is always outstanding, the staff is always friendly and quite attentive. I like my curry very spicy so I always request it that way and it is perfect, just warm enough to make me take off a sweatshirt. . Out two kids love it too!

Went here with the Fam for a B-Day dinner and was pleased. Easy to find and right in the middle of the quaint town of Mac. The only real downfall to this place was that the service was a little slow. Once everyone in our party showed up, we had to go and get someone to take our order. The food was delish though as I ordered the shrimp pad thai and salad rolls. Sweet and savory:-) Price of dishes were excellent, since they bought dinner for me, but truly, the prices were on par for other Thai restaurants. Overall rating: 75% Service: 2/5 Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Price: 4:5

Best Thai Period. This is one of the better places to eat in McMinnville. The prices, food, and service are all great. When my husband and I first met we had many dates here. If your looking for a low key date, this is your place. It's not loud. You don't need reservations. I love the Pad Thai but everything is good.

Best Thai food in Mac. Love the chicken satay with peanut sauce, at least two orders every time I'm here. The papaya salad is refreshing. The chicken pad thai, beef pad se ew, chicken garlic with vege stir fry, Thai BBQ chicken, chicken green curry and sticky rice are great! Great customer service as well! Highly recommend this place for Thai food.

Pad Kee Mao!! The best ever. This is the best thai restaurant I have ever been to. The staff is amazing, the food is amazing. I go here whenever I'm in town. I hear the rest of the food is amazing, but I can't stray away from the pad kee mao. Yum!

If I'm feeling like some good Asian food this is the best choice in town. They make a good Tom kha soup pork larb is excellent as well as their noodle dishes such as the Rad nar. Menu does run on the hot side so be careful when you asked for it hot Medium spice is usually good for me

Screw this Thai Country! Tips is something that consumers pay on their own will, it is not an obligation! This restaurant charged consumers for tips without prior acknowledging is annoying. The worst part is, tips is charged yet the service is poor!!! My friends and I went there for a group gathering. After every one of us, is EVERYONE OF US, has paid our fee, the manager said 5 of us did not pay!!! He did not give us any receipt at first by reasoning that the group is too big. After we paid and want to leave, he said 5 of us did not pay. Oh, now I know why there is no receipt, so that we could not prove that we have paid. And, those 5 people pay in cash, so we could not show him bank transactions are made. The manager is experienced, in exploiting inexperienced students. An advice for you here, if you are an international student and want to have a memorable group gathering, please do not make a bad choice to eat here!

I gave my friend a few options of where we could meet for dinner and it took her less than a minute to pick Thai Country Restaurant. There's a reason for this: Thai Country is tasty, affordable, and convenient. It's not too fancy so I could have shown up in my cleaning sweats without looking too tacky. But attire and restaurant decor doesn't even factor into picking this place. The food is so phenomenal that you shouldn't even hesitate, just go. My pick: the pork pad thai. And try one of the soups. They can be hot and spicy, just what you need to get your dinner started out just right.

Love this place - fresh, fast, friendly and totally yummy. Whether you like Thai or need an introduction, whether you are a citizen or a tourist, Thai Country is not to be missed. It is Mac's ethnic oasis. We love the salad rolls, Tom Yum soup, all kinds of curry and great vegetarian options - you can't go wrong. Everything on the menu is authentic and tasty.

This could possibly be the best Thai food I have had outside of Manhattan. It was so good, that I ended up having dinner there the next night all over again. The portions are beyond generous and more than enough for 2. They use the perfect amount of heat in the spicy dishes, the coconut curries are absolutely fantastic. The decor is no frills, and has a high school wood shop project like feel to it, but in the end, you can't taste the decor, and the menu is priced perfectly! One thing I must say about the town, it has a very "don't ask, don't tell" feel to it. If you don't ask, no one volunteers the information. For example, the server could have stopped me from over ordering after putting in an order for 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, but he didn't. When I asked him why he didn't suggest it was a bit to much food, his exact response was "well you didn't ask." And this seemed to be the norm all over town during our visit.

What a great place for lunch! They brought a delicious soup before I ordered. The lunch menu is inexpensive but incredibly fresh and flavorful. It was served quickly, so I made it back to work on time. An unexpected delight on 3rd Street!

Very nice lunch for a very reasonable price. (around $6.50) Soup was excellent, portions were large, all in all a good experience.

My experience with Thai food is limited because there just isn't much of it in this part of Oregon, but as far as I'm concerned, this place rocks. My boyfriend (now fiance) and I had many excellent date nights here, including the time when he ordered his dish a little too spicy and went through four glasses of water. Service can be a little slow, but giant heaping plates of steaming veggie-loaded noodles more than make up for it. The chicken satay is tasty, too, as is the Thai barbequed chicken. And if you're not a fan of Thai food, don't be afraid to tag along with your friends - this place also offers basic chow mein and pretty delicious teriyaki chicken. The restaurant can get a bit noisy, but the decor is fun, with a weird combination of Asian artifacts and a giant wine-country mural on the back wall. Go with three friends and snag the awesome carved elephant chairs!

The place was packed on a Friday night. Service was very slow. Food was okay, but not great. I'd go back to explore as I have a feeling they probably have their gems.

You can come to this place for a fun meal. You won't get the most outstanding fare ever, but you can have a good time and enjoy good food. Plus, you can have some fun: Some of the friends I went with happened to know either the server or owner, or both. I'm from Mexico, and I started eating pickled jalapeños from my youth, so it is not hard to believe that I do not find the food items that are claimed to be spicy daunting at all. Rarely am I met with a challenge in the US. So, because we were in a very casual setting, I originated that I would like the hottest thing this restaurant could produce. This was relayed to the waiter, which was relayed to the cook. I ordered some sort of curry, with the request being something along the lines of "make this as hot as you possibly can." With a smile, the waiter went off. If the water had come back holding the hands of fire-spitting imps, I could not have told the difference. He gave me the curry, and I saw that it was packed with Thai chilies. Took a whiff, smelled what felt like shoving a cactus in my nose, and smiled, with the knowing satisfaction that there was a challenge awaiting. This was probably the second or third time where I have eaten something outside of Mexico that has brought tears to my eyes, and set me in a frantic search for something to quell the havoc my taste buds were enduring. I had about half, and that was it. But it was good, and fun.

Definitely my favorite thai place! All of my friends would agree. The pad thai is really good and their peanut sauce is amazing. The service has always been great. No complaints :)

Asked what was best and had the pad thai. I've had this at about 100 Thai restaurants and this was average. Flavor was a bit off. Chicken quality was well better than average. Service sucked.
