When I am feeling fancy, I get coffee with filbert juice and extra electricity. Most times it turns out like a sweet confection, not what I am looking forward for as my most important meal of the day. Hosanna! I had a coffee that was creamy without being too rich, filbert juice that, gasp, tasted like filbert; a slightly sweet shot of flavor. I got this and a lovely coconut macadamia cookie from Wanda, who seems to supply such things all over this part of the world. Not cloyingly sweet, just right. They have a huge selection of magazines and newspapers. They have gift items that are wonderful and reasonably priced. In Manzanita, or for that matter, most everywhere I have ever been, this is the stop. Just go and see that I am right.

My favorite coffee shop ever. The Americana's are fabulous, thick creme on top. Iced drinks come with coffee ice cubes... No watery drink after 10 Minutes! Sit under the trees and enjoy the fresh baked good too. Thanks Starr!

We spend a good amount of time in Manzanita. The last several times we've stopped in at Manzanita News, it's been terrible, rude and downright nasty service. They definitely don't care if they snap at you, make rude comments about using too many napkins and refuse to serve you when you arrive 3 minutes before closing. The barista needs to be fired! We will never go back. Manzanita has many other shops more than happy to kindly serve coffee.

the best espresso i have had in a long time, and the tree-shaded tables out front made for a much needed respite from the sand and surf

Cute place on the less hectic stretch of the main thoroughfare. Latte was super boiling hot and good. Prices were better than many non-tourist places. Good choice of food items and knick-knacks.

Yep, Margaret (see below) has it right. Inappropriate attitude. My wife ordered a nonfat latte, and when she double checked she got massive attitude: it's 2%, can't you just be happy with that? When my asked for it to be remade, the barista then whispered "I should've just said it was non-fat" (wow!!), took a deliberately long time on the correction and delivered it with a slam. Why? Because you take pleasure in being obnoxious. I've been coming here since 1996. Never again.

Wifi. Nasty servers. Barely decent coffee. Small and crowded in summer. Decent shade outside but hardly anything to be excited about.

Rude Rude Rude... I've been in here 5 or 6 times in the past year and EVERY SINGLE TIME it's the same gals with their condescending comments, rude & impatient nature and impertinent attitudes. I've rarely seen anything like it outside of middle school. Come on, girls. You're serving COFFEE and pastries here. Leave the 'tude at home because there ARE other places to get good coffee AND good service here in town, like the little Coffee Shop at the end of the street, by the beach; SO much more pleasant and accommodating.

Stayed in Manzanita for a week and thought this would be our daily coffee stop, but one of the baristas was rude, and seemed "put out" by us just ordering our drinks. We thought maybe she was having a bad day, so we gave this place another chance the following morning, but rude again!! Sorry but the rest of the week we stayed clear of this place and won't return again.

Rude! Sorry miss sourpuss barista if we interrupted your cute boy conversation to order a drink. Your abrupt attitude also added the feeling of not being welcome. Better places down the block.

I love it here, love the coffee and the atmosphere and want to go there all the time. The outdoor area is amazing and the owner is kind and offers great service. I went several times this weekend and was basically verbally abused by a barista on her way out. Apparently, her last day is today and all I can say is what great fortune for their business that snarky is moving on. Hopefully, not to Portland, as we are kind, smiling, inquisitive and patient people :) much like the awesome community of Manzanita! Please don't bring snarky back and keep hiring amazing people! Love Portland Roasting done right here too!

Rude staff. We ordered a drink and sat outside. When we finished we asked to use the restroom. It was 2 minutes after closing and we were told "too late, we're closed". We'll go elsewhere from now on.

Stopped in on a cold rainy trip down the 101 on a girls trip for a cup of hot chocolate. Perhaps the rudest service I have ever received! Barista was colder than the weather outside, would barely answer our questions about what kind of hot chocolate she served. Not a smile or warm word to spare for us but when a local walked in after us, she was all smiles and kindness. She served the woman that came in after us first and then preceded to make 3 cups of watery disgusting hot chocolate which she abruptly set on the counter and walked away. Would not suggest stopping in for the rude behavior served up with the cup of whatever your craving at this place.

Excellent ice lattes with coffee ice cubes. The 12 oz is only one shot (sad face). I've only had polite baristas, which is amazing because they have to be server, tourist advisor, and general advice giver. The wifi was fast. The outdoor space is relaxing. The reading material is top notch -- as U.S. The knock-knacks. Win!!!

Good coffee and a coastal vibe. The staff could be friendlier and less interested in the countdown to closing time (topic of staff conversation during my last two visits weeks apart).

coffee shop with no Wi Fi? seriously. the espresso isn't strong. or they forgot a shot in my triple mocha. credit cards accepted (for$0.50) nice warm atmosphere. only 2 tables inside. they've got seating on the porch, but most of the time it's cold and nasty here.

Dumper! Stopped in for a triple latte and headed north on 101. Took my first sip just south of Cannon Beach and it tasted like they forgot a shot. Tried it again and concluded that it was just very poor quality coffee or the barista didn't know what she was doing. Pulled over in Seaside and dumped it because it was so bad. There are tons of espresso options in Manzanita and this one should be at the bottom of the list.
