The girls at Pit Stop are freaking awesome! A big smile and great local service. It's worth it to stop in for some "Octane" or "Coolant" to get your day going. They have all kinds of drink mixes and quick-2-GO breads. Even a quaint little patio if you just wanna sit. Really great spot in a really great spot, if ya know what I mean!

I love this place! I recently took up cooking and have been experimenting with different types of cuisine. Many of my experiments require odd or unusal ingredients. I can spend all day going supermarket to supermarket but why when I can just stop in at the Mercantile. They have had everything I need. The staff is great, as is the selection. It's a blast just to shop around the store and find new and interesting things to try (wood smoke olive oil!). Plus, I always grab a chocolate (or two) on my way out the door.
Excellent selection of specialty foods and imports.
When I entered the store, I felt like I was in another country. There are products from a variety of places and it was fun to discover new and rare foods. It's worth driving from Ashland just to experience the many gourmet treats. There are plenty of tasting opportunities to help choose the perfect treasures. If that doesn't narrow it down, the owners are happy to help you find whatever you want or did not know you wanted until you heard about it. It is a perfect place to find a great gift for people who have everything, because you can be sure to find something edible, unique and wonderful. It is truly an enjoyable store.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at the Touvelle House. We really enjoyed ourselves. Jamie and Shawn are amazing hosts. Not only is the house tastefully decorated, the rooms are extremely comfortable and the food was delicious. Jamie and Shawn have done a great job making this house their own. We look forward to visiting them again. We highly recommend this place.
This home has a lot of history and is in a beautiful setting. The rooms are clean and very nicely decorated. The owners, Jamie and Shawn, fill their role as hosts to a tee. The food was great, as was the conversation. The property is only a couple of blocks from bustling downtown Jacksonville, where there is shopping and a variety of restaurants. We would love to bring our family back to this inn!
First time staying at a bed and breakfast, and pretty sure it is going to be hard to top Touvelle house and the awesome hospitality of Gary and Tim. We arrived at 11pm at night, and were the only ones staying that night, so we had this gigantic house space basically to ourself. We stayed in a cozy little room on the third floor (Adirondack), which is the only one with the bathtub. The bed was fantastic (had to get the details on their sheets and feather pillow (which they fluff up on a regular basis). Woke up in the morning to the smell of coffee brewing and robins chirping outside the window (there is a sound machine in the room, but since we live in NE portland, this place seemed extremely quiet). The breakfast was fantastic, and they even have an alternative list of food in case you are allergic to various things. The grounds are very nice, and if we were here in the summer would have sat by the pool and used the sauna. I am sitting in a cozy leather chair in the living room by the fire, drinking a great cup of coffee while writing this. Totally recommend, and this is my new place to stay when I am in Southern Oregon.

My date and I both had a cheese burger with garlic and herb fingerling potatoes, mine was called the forager and came with Swiss cheese or provolone and wild mushrooms and truffle aoili, it was divine! One of the most satisfying burgers I've ever had. The garlic that was fried with the potatoes had crunchy little bits that burst with garlicky flavor. It was a bit spendy at $15 but I guess it's to be expected with a great chef and it being a Bistro and all. Serving size is not large, but plenty enough. Service was great, we ate outdoors on the patio and the chef came out to collect from the herb garden as we waited, much attention to detail is evident. Everything was perfect. Loved it!
If you talk to locals this is the go to place for lunch. We went for Dinner one night. It is very small and communal inside but there is a deck and tables outside when weather permits. The Chef owner waited tables the night we were there. ( one of my pet peeves is... I'd rather the chef be in the Kitchen) . This guy moved up to Jacksonville from the a big city for a slower pace restaurant. He is a talented chef on some selected items. Out of our 4 selection the Risotto was the standout. Wild Mushroom risotto with a rich beef stock, perfectly cooked and delicious. Its a quaint casual place ....good food and good wine and a entertaining Chef owner you waits on you. I'd eat outside when weather is warm.
Really excellent from the Iced Tea to the House made pastrami to the Kaleinator! Lovely patio outside, too.

We were in Jacksonville with a large wedding party. We contacted Joyce at Déjà Vu and arranged for a dinner for 15 and two breakfasts for 35 people. Joyce was amazing to work with and made everything hassle free. The food was outstanding, and Kevin our server was the BEST! Thanks for making our weekend so memorable! We will be back!
This is an unusual review as we didn't end up eating here. We came in excited about their "appy hour" which we discovered on a Sunday afternoon as we were walking by. The gardens and courtyard are lovely. We had our dog and were advised we could sit outside in the courtyard with the dog, but we couldn't enjoy the 'appy hour as that was only available in the bar. The outdoor area had a different menu for apps and of course, different (higher) prices. We really wanted to love it enough to stay, but we left a tip for the cold water and service provided (including water for the dog which was nice of them) and left. Next time we will come back without the dog and enjoy it properly. Very good service, lovely ambience. Am sure the food and wine would have been good too but I can't report on that yet. Such a shame - they lost business tonight, and a potential raving yelp review for the meal and wines.
Reading the menu was very exciting. I couldn't make up my mind as to what to get for anything. The atmosphere was missing and the service was mediocre. the entree I decided on was disappointing and I would have liked a salad or some dinner rolls for the price of the meal. the portion was small but enough to leave satisfied. we sat and waited for about 30 minutes before our order was taken and the total amount of time we say there with nothing was over an hour. it only took us 15 minutes to finish eating.

Great bbq when they are "on." We were eating here once a week for a while but stopped because of the inconsistency of the food. When it is a good night it is some of the best bbq that I have had...and I have some of the best. I would recommend the brisket. When it is an off night we have had to order out for pizza. The back bar area is amazing ambiance if you are looking for the old school saloon feel. Service is very friendly and their margaritas are fantastic. Good luck!
Delicious!!! Someone in town recommended my family and I try this place for lunch. When you walk in, you get hit with a delicious smell of bbq! Their pulled pork is delicious! Great food!
Great food and prompt service. I had the smoked chicken, bbq beans, and chili. Enjoyed every bit of it.

Amazing! I had green eggs and ham special: An alt Benedict with hash browns, thin ham, poached eggs and lemon basil hollandaise. Loved it. My husband thought his burrito was oddly a tad sweet but otherwise good. We got a cinnamon bun to go for the tiny - thankfully covered in Orange cream cheese frosting that wasn't overly sugary. I had a hard time getting a feel from reviews. It's an order at the front and they bring you your food place. About 10-12 tables, largest seats 6-8 people. Extremely warm and charming.
I really liked this place and was actually expecting something different when I walked in. It's more than a coffee place (they serve wine and beer, and also have a nice menu). I just got a soy chai latte and a slice of coffeecake. The latte was nice and creamy and perfectly spiced - very good. And the coffee cake had small bits of peach and blueberry and was absolutely delicious. I would definitely order that again. Also had a nice cinnamon topping - just the right amount, not too much. I hate when my coffee cake is loaded down with too much topping - this one was perfect. I also really liked the space. It was bigger than I expected and had plenty of seating both inside and out. They also had an awesome old stove in the middle of the place which I loved. I would have taken a picture, but there was a guy sitting in front of it, so maybe next time. Overall a great place to stop for coffee, lunch or a glass of wine. I'd highly recommend it.
We had good coffee & chai here on a busy Sunday morning while waiting for other Jacksonville businesses to open. They also have a good selection of baked good and I think some breakfast entrees.

Clean, charming, up to date, and not very expensive - in February anyway! My only reservation was our room didn't have black out blinds and the light came through the window from the hall light. Apparently a few rooms do not have black out curtains but may be updated soon. The front desk (who seemed to be the manager or very on her game for a front desk person) apologized and gave me a discount for future stays. I was tired but I couldn't really be mad because she was so nice about it. Be sure to ask about your room blinds if that's super important to you. We were in 129. This is a great hotel if not for that glitch. Also - the road sign says Wine Country Inn, not Country Inn. Thanks to the yelp photo it was easier to spot.
We stayed at Wine Country Inn. While its location is not as charming as the houses around the center of town, it was still really convenient. The girls working the office could not have been nicer! We got a great second floor room and it was ready early. It was updated, spacious and clean. The beds were very comfy and the layered drapes did their job. There are benches and chairs around the lot to enjoy your morning scones and coffee or a bottle of wine.
We arrived early into town. Our room was not ready, but the staff held our things as we wandered the town. We arrived back and were very pleased with the room. There were 2 queen beds, the furnishing seemed fairly new. Very clean. Very quiet. The beds very comfortable. It being the 4th of July weekend we snagged the very last room at short notice, and we were very happy. Just on the edge of town, but such a small town, everything very walkable.

Sure, this place is not necessarily authentic Mexican food, but it's still pretty palate-pleasing. First, we love the outdoor patio surrounded by lush leafy trees-- it's beautiful and perfect for enjoying some chips and salsa with a Corona. Salsa is decent, but they give you a small amount. Thankfully, refills are quick and free! We usually order the vegetarian offerings. Last night, I got the veggie quesadillas and really liked them. This place is unique in its veggie dishes because rather than the standard beans and green peppers and onions, they toss in stuff like carrots, red peppers, celery. It's unusual, but paired with jack cheese and black beans, it had a nice pop of flavor. Big portions-- everything comes with standard spanish rice and a cup of beans. I like their guac too. My bf gets the original veggie enchiladas and is officially a fan, although he does always need to add hot sauce as their enchilada sauce is quite mild. Again, this place is nothing special food-wise, but it's decent enough that we have gone a few times and always found it to suit our cravings, plus we love sitting on their fantastic deck.
My family and I were visiting southern Oregon and had been to this restaurant 8 years before. Now that we are returning with two kids, we thought we would try it again as my kids love Mexican food. The food was good, the kids cleaned their plates and our margaritas were huge and hit the spot on a hot summer day. My daughter brings a small notebook with her that she sketches in. We left Oregon and were on our way home the following day when we realized that she must have left it at the restaurant. They were closed the next two days but we called when they opened to ask if they happened to have the notebook. They did! And they were awesome and mailed it back to us! This is the kind of service you get from a family restaurant in a small town. You made my daughter one happy kid. Thanks again and next time we are up in Jacksonville we will be back again!
Nope. Ordinary, ordinary, ordinary. Heavy use of bottled or packaged recados or concentrated sauce products. Pleasant patio and at least the maitre d didn't call me "amigo." That was refreshing.
