High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. I love this place! It's old fashion But I didn't love one of the waitress girl with black hair Hispanic. She was so rude to us horrible service all the other waitress were so nice

Interesting 1950's style décor. Liked the route 66 map on the wall. The burgers we had were really good (saucy and flavorful but not drippy). With large tots for 2 we were both very happy. The service was quick and friendly. They had some classic shake and malt flavors like chocolate and strawberry and some unusual ones like grape. I would happily return for a tasty burger or shake again!

Had a pretty decent breakfast here - for the price, it was a really great deal. I had a waffle (which could have been slightly more crispy) and the one egg combo with toast and hash browns. The egg was nothing special and wasn't salted at all to my surprise. The toast was great and perfectly buttered and the hash browns were just barely cooked - not crispy at all! I think that you really have to let them know exactly how you like it for the experience to go from good to amazing but the place had great potential!

Awesome place and awesome burgers. It has an interesting decor, I think it's 50's with a twist

If you have a high tolerance for all things Betty- boop and 50's diner themed, then I highly recommend you skip the fast food joints and stop into Burger Hut. For about $6 you can get a freshly grilled, melty cheese covered deluxe double burger monstrosity with crisp fried tater tots and little dish of cole slaw. They also have a grilled cheese for $1.25 which is perfect for the kiddos. I opted for the regular cheeseburger and everything was fresh and delicious. The fries were great too. While we were there we saw a bunch of to-go orders so obviously the locals know this is the place to go! They even have malts and milkshakes!

Stick to the burgers and shakes it's what they do best. The staff are friendly and the restaurant feels clean, but the breakfast I had today was inedible.

So I was cruising through Hubbard yesterday... wait a moment... savor that opening line for a moment. How many times in my life will I be able to say I was cruising through Hubbard, Oregon? How times have you? Well you know what? After finding this little gem of a burger joint I'm going to try and find more reasons. On the west side of Highway 551 sits the most unassuming little white building with a sign out front. I don't know what made me stop there, maybe it was hunger and not wanting to double back to Aurora, maybe it was cosmic interference or just karma from some unselfish deed but I felt strong about coming here. In I walked to a long rectangle of a 50s diner. Burgers are the specialty but they can handle breakfast and appetizers and some dinner plates too. It is a simple menu and the prices are very fair. It is like the anti-Red Robin. There is a gas pump along the back wall and a TV that was showing vintage black and white Popeye cartoons. 50s memorabilia adorned every inch of the walls above the assorted booths and tables. It was kitsch on Red Bull or maybe organized hording but it works here. Waitresses hustled along moving good food from kitchen to table with great speed and they were downright friendly also. Iced tea was excellent probably just Lipton but it was fresh and cold on this 97 degree afternoon. I enjoyed chowing down here and wish I had a few more minutes to really enjoy the surroundings but I was on a schedule. As I finished up and motioned for the bill Popeye and had just punched Bluto into the next county and I knew that is where I needed to be too, the next county, but I was very glad the cosmos led me here and I hope I get to return soon.

Great burger with perfectly cooked tater tots at a reasonable price. Looks and fees like and old time, classic, burger joint. Will definitely stop here for a burger next time I'm in the area. They also serve breakfast.

I can't believe my favorite old-timey burger joint isn't rated at least 4 solid stars! My high rating goes to their malts and burgers mainly as that is really all I've eaten (and I've eaten plenty). I usually just like the classic cheeseburger because I have a tiny tummy but on occasions of needing my extreme hunger quelled, the deluxe burger satisfies. The patty is juicy but not overly fatty, the buns are toasted nicely, and all the toppings are of good proportion. I typically get their tots because I love how crunchy they are on the outside! I have also gotten the fries and zucchini chips, both delicious. The zucchini is fried perfectly and crunchy on the outside as well. Now the malts are probably my favorite menu item! Oh I dream about them... I usually get the chocolate malt but the vanilla is good as well. Their malt flavor is prominent but not overpowering. Simply delicious. I'm going to Burger Hut now.

This place is A-OK. Not as good as Big Burger in Molalla, but this is right by my new home so I can get these much easier. Molalla is still a 20 minutes drive. We had some chicken strips Texas toast and fries, and a bacon cheeseburger. both were exactly what I would expect from a place like this. I look forward to trying their breakfast next weekend.

Just tried Burger Hut for the first time. I got a burger basket, which came with the burger, fries or tots, and a side of coleslaw or potato salad. Everything tasted great and the price was REALLY good.

Average food, prompt service, great prices. Clean, secure bathrooms, but only 1 stall per sex.

Ahh Burger Hut, how you have grown on me, just like moss on... well moss grows on just about everything in northwest Oregon. I've been here a half dozen times and each time service, food quality and price has been consistently above par. It's actually no frills here, not entirely true because there is the neato retro Wurlitzer in the corner that actually plays 45 Singles, and the tiny tv up above it playing way old episodes of Felix the Cat. Did you know that Felix was a Magic Cat? I didn't know! And the hokey slash campy retro signage and really sweet metallic blue and white upholstered booths and counter seats. It's really pretty cute up in here. I've only had burgers and cokes and they're darn good. The price is very hard to beat, and the service has always been spot on with the soda refills and such. In the sea of nothingness (except for the massive hop farms) known as Hubbard Oregon, it's kind of a diamond in the rough. Oh and also for that Cindy Williams (aka Shirley of Laverne &) autograph near the front door. For what it's worth it's a nicely decorated little roadhouse diner and it's totally worth stopping in for a bite if you ever find yourself along the 99E in the valley.

Happened upon this little gem whilst cruising home to Portland and I was in heaven. I am obsessed with all things vintage and quirky so this old timey burger joint really hit the spot. It is set up like one of the old great shake shops of the 50s and even features an original Wurlitzer juke box complete with real vinyl 7 inches that flip on to the old school record player. A quarter gets you 5 song plays and if you are familiar with the juke boxes around town you know this is quite a deal. I put on some Doris Day,ordered a chocolate malted and was whisked away back to the good old days. Our server was a real sweetheart and made sure we enjoyed the great grub we ordered. My husband opted for a jumbo type burger which consisted of 2 patties and he scarfed that meaty treasure away in an instant. That was solid, hot proof of his obvious enjoyment and he proclaimed its excellence. Along with my malt I enjoyed a lovely french dip sandwich that came with tater tots and potato salad. Good ole tots. My french dip came with a healthy serving of au jus and all in all it was a perfect dose of americana at its best. The menu offers burgers, steak, fried clams etc. as well as their wonderful malts and shakes which are of course hand made. The burger hut was a very nice fantasy trip back in time for me. Time travel may not exist yet but if you are looking for a little bit of good ole 1950s diner fun its the closest you can get that I have found. I am going to add some pictures as soon as I return which will be soon. If you are a lover of the mid century it may be worth the trip from Portland. The owner might have an unhealthy obsession with Betty Boop..... nah just kidding. If you do like Betty Boop they have the biggest collection i have ever seen. Their is even a near life size statue/figure that is quite a sight. I also noticed that they were playing some fun old 1940s cartoons on the television. So hop in your pretend time machine(the car) and have some fun at Burger Hut.

Lovely community place. Have stopped by a few times. Very friendly staff, super reasonable prices. Like the small town feel. Interesting theme of decor keeps you looking around. A few years ago they renovated the building, its an excellent upgrade and shows a good commitment to having a safe, clean and well run business. For a burger joint this is no fast-food restaurant. It has a unique feel and flavor. Well worth the money.

I've never been to Hubbard before and since I was in the area and a friend suggested it, I decided to stop by. It was Saturday around noon and you could tell the place was filling up. I ordered a standard cheeseburger and tots and it came out in classic diner style. My server was busy but checked in on me at all the right times.

I love me a good burger, onion rings and shake. Burger Hut delivers on all three. Delicious! A clean 50's diner with a cool juke box. Good food at a fair price.

Im going to have to go with no on this one... A) 2/3 times I've gone there it has been RUDE service. B) The burgers and fries just weren't all that C) The mexican place next door tastes WAY better for about the same price. Verdict? Not a returning customer. 3 strikes you're out.

  • Brant W.

Burgers are good. Everyone complains about the service, but in the two times I have been there its not bad. There are some cool famous people photos on the wall. All in all its a great place that is right off the highway. Ill go there again.

Burgers were good, loved the onion rings.

  • Becky D.

My family used to go there for years, but it must have changed hands or gotten new management, now we never go there. The service went down hill, the food went from yum to yuck, if you did manage to get what you ordered... The prices went up. We haven't been back in 5 or so years.

    (2)
  • Tabitha B.

I love Burger Hut because a. It's in Hubbard and I don't have to drive to Canby, b. the burgers are spot-on comfort fare and c. it's ridiculously cheap! I didn't actually go to the business... I was at home, painstakingly making gravy base for Thanksgiving dinner, and forced the husband out into the cold, cruel world to forage. Coming back with much more warm, greasy, cheesy goodness than the two of us could eat for just $13? It's a holiday miracle!

    (5)
  • chrissy S.

Yeah service is slow and some of the waitres's aren't to friendly. But there food is decent, a step up from McDonalds. Great milkshakes, undercooked fries however. Pretty good prices I believe there grilled cheese sandwiches are $1.25.

    (3)
  • Nathan C.

This is an old fashioned greasy burger restaurant and I love it! They have a huge following from the locals and the parking lot is always full during breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. The staff isn't the most fiendly but I'll take it for the food I get. I don't go here very often because (let's be honest) the food ain't that good for you but when I get a hankerin' for a burger, fries, and a shake, this is the first place on my list.

    (4)
  • Michael A.

They may have lost their hole-in-the-wall charm by remodeling, but the old school "burger hut" roadside sign remains. And so does the great, greasy food. Deluxe burgers, onion rings, fish sandwiches, oh my! Great burger joint despite some pretty slow service. But worth the wait.

    (4)
  • Jasmine M.

I love their milkshakes, and the popular things, like biscuits and gravy, chicken strips, etc. I don't really care that they're a little slow, but everyone likes a friendly waitress, which sometimes they don't have. I don't like the fries but not many places have good fries anyways. By the way always order less then you think you need of the biscuits and gravy : )
