Not that you have any choices of where to eat in Heppner but this place was a pleasant surprise. The owner is a descendant (great grandson I believe) of the founder of Shakey's Pizza and Howe's does his ancestors proud with an identical pizza. I was visiting from Portland on business and my coworker and I sat down and immediately said to each other that this pizza reminded us of our first memories of eating at a pizzeria. His being Shakey's and mine being Pietro's. Only when we spoke with the owner before we left did we discover the true lineage of the restaurant. How cool! Either way, it's a fantastic thin crust pizza destined to send you back in time if you're familiar with: Shakey's, Pietro's, or Abby's (Abby's being a spin-off of Shakey's) The interior is unassuming but the people and service were fantastic.

Seriously... I have eaten many hundreds of slices of pizza and I don't think I've had a pizza crust that I've liked better! Dude knows how to make a pizza crust! It was a very thin, cracker like crust that was still strong enough to support the whole piece of pizza. I had the barbecue chicken pizza and it was phenomenal! Unfortunately, the place has 0% atmosphere with the exception of the very friendly and fun to talk to family that owns and operates the business. You can always get it to go! If I lived in this state and near this town, I would make a special trip for this pizza!

I never liked thin crust pizza until i ate here. Awesome. Good burgers. Good fish and chips too. Don't forget to have some DeSalvo Italian ice cream made fresh on the premises. I took away one star because of the price of the pizza is on the high side.

Friendliness of employees - great; accuracy of my customized order - spot on; taste of the pizza - nothing to write home about. I stopped in here one evening to get a couple of pizzas to go. I was happy with my experience there, but once back in the motel room, was slightly disappointed at the mediocrity of the taste of both pizzas. While there was nothing wrong with them, I think I am just accustomed to the delicious pizzas found at various family owned joints (think Pizza Co) and large restaurants (think Pizza Rock; California Pizza Kitchen; Sammy's Woodfired Pizza) in Las Vegas. The crust could go for more seasoning, and the sauce amount could be a little more generous on the pies.

Best pizza ever.. Fresh made dough everyday and fresh toppings. Nothing beats the owners secret recipe for his homemade pizza sauce!!
