The BEST nachos ever! Also ordered ribs with potato salad and cornbread, which was good. The peanut butter choc pie is to die for! Received A+ service from Sybill. 1st time at a Shari's and I loved it!!

Sure you get a free slice of pie with your dinner on Wednesday, but you pay for it with getting lousy service. It was obvious that they are understaffed. Not only did it take 20 minutes to cook the meals, but we couldn't even get a wait person to bring us a bottle of steak sauce. Speaking of steak, mine was medium-well though I ordered it medium-rare. My wife also ordered one medium-rare, and hers was uneven (half was medium, half was medium-well.) If this wasn't enough, a group of six misfits were seated next to us - five guys and one young woman who I'm guessing all still live in their parents' basements. Evidently they mistook this restaurant for a high school cafeteria! They were loud, and the waitress was egging them on. All-in-all, an unsatisfactory experience.

My family and I just got back from what we had hoped was going to be a nice Sunday breakfast. It wasn't busy, we were seated quickly but after that things went downhill. Our order took 43 minutes to get to us, yes I timed it, (nothing we ordered should have taken that long) People who were seated 20 minutes after us received their food before we did. Our order was wrong, and the french toast was under cooked. The waitress checked on us once from the time we got our coffee and water until we received our food and then didn't see her again until we received our bill. We will never go back there again, the service and food use to be average to good. Now its far below average and borders on awful.

I've been to this location three times in the past couple months every time for a to go order they are always disappointing and how they deliver would never recommend this restaurant to anybody unless you want to be disappointed I have work in the food industry for several years and if one of my customers came up to me with the food they deliver I would be appalled and retire from my job no one should have to put up with this bullshit this is their so called surf and turf

Horrible place. Im sitting here eating my food and my friend simply asked for fresh strawberries by her pancake and they put the strawberrie and all that syrup on her pancakes. When she asked for what she originally asked for the waiter rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. Poor customer service!!! Kelsie isn't the best waitress and definitely not my first choice.

Can't believe this place has so little stars. Everytime we stop by,it is a nice experience, never been served by a bad server! Today our waitress was Molly. What a wonderful lady! She even printed out a pie's ingredients list for me when I asked if she knew what's in it. She was very attentive and professional. The food is hearty and fresh. Sure,it is not a gourmet restaurant, but the prices are great and you never leave half-full.

This is not my first horrible experience at this location. They served us the wrong food, then instead of remaking it for the other people, they took it from us and gave it to other people, yuck! Our drinks were so watered down they didn't even taste like much of anything. Since they had gotten the order wrong, our food didn't come all at the same time so they were rushing to get our food out and it wasn't cooked all the way. Now my boyfriend and I are shitting our brains out. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

We dine here pretty often & also pick up to go orders. We usually find ourselves waiting to be seated for 10-15 minutes & wait another 10-15 for drinks & service. Food is good & so are the prices. The hours are great if you work late nights. The only reason we go in is convenience & the fact they are open 24 hours. They could really improve on their customer service.

Ugh! We got lost trying to find IHOP and ended up here. I think we would have been better eating out of the dumpster behind our hotel. The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is that the service was very good. The food was horrible, though.

The food took a half hour and the waiter didn't bother to check on us to tell us it would be a little longer. The food was cold when it got to me! Not going back!

the worst service ever. They left us sitting at the door waiting forever. Then they took us to the table and ignored us. eventually we just got up and left, and he didn't even notice.

Usually I enjoy the food and coffee at these restaurants but when I requested my chipotle chicken sandwich with ciabatta bread it came back and the top was super thin and the bottom was super thick. I had to eat it with a knife and fork as the top was to small to stay or cover the sandwich. I'm not the type to send things back so I ate it but it was quite difficult. I have requested this at other locations and it was perfectly sliced. The redeeming bit was when the waitress reminded us that it was free pie Wednesday. I had forgot....oops. The pie and coffee were excellent as was the tea. Please don't serve sandwiches like this again Shari's. To be clear this is not normal for Shari's and the food I receive is usually delicious just this visit was not good.

Our friend, boyfriend and I decided to eat breakfast here on Sunday morning at 11 am. The place was packed and very busy. This was our first time at this Shari's branch and it has been years since any of us has eaten at any of the Shari's branches. It took a few minutes to get a table, but they seated us at the bar and let us look over the menu while we waited for one. Everything is over $7 and their pie slices are $4.99 a piece (more expensive then I remember). The menu looks nice and updated with all the calories listed and pictures to confuse your apatite. Getting a table only too 10 minutes and a couple more minutes before our waitress took our order for our drinks. The service is slightly slow but it may be because we went on Sunday morning. Our drinks took a good while to come our and we waited for fresh coffee; I got hot chocolate and it was just like hot chocolate with whip topping and sprinkles on top. It took a couple more minutes before we say our waitress again to take our food order. After ordering(twice because they didn't have steak so my boyfriend had to change his order) it took about 20 or so minutes for our food to come out. I ordered the Bone in Ham with potato pancakes. The ham was Fine, if not somewhat dry. The mashed potato pancakes were good, something I never had before. I don't know what the cinnamon apple spread was for, I think for the pancakes but that seemed odd to me. This meal cost around $9. My boyfriend said his meal was good, nothing memorable but food. His too was around $9. All in all the food was as we remembered. The shakes their are really good and their pies do look good but over priced.

So far not so good coffee sucks. Old and barley warm. Still waiting on food. Its been awhile. Blond that is in the kitchen should have her hair on a ponytail. Long and hanging over her shoulders. Oh wait the food is here. Burned toast. Way over cooked eggs. No sign of the waitress. Not good people. Not good.

Awful experience. Went on a late night Friday. We sat for 15 minutes waiting to place our order and no one stopped by. We got up and asked if we could place our order and was told that our server would stop by. Waited another 5 minutes for our server to stop by. Three (3) tables after us placed their order, was served and finished before us. It was cold out and we wanted the daily soup, but not the loaded baked potato. Sure, it was a late night Friday, but you would think there would be at least one daily soup besides the thick loaded baked potato, but no. Instead, we settled on ordering sandwiches with mayo on the side. We understand that diner food can be greasy, but super salty? Our tongues stung from the high salt content. We never received our bill and just walked to the cashier. Never returning.

I had at least three waitstaff walk by me and not even acknowledge me. The Chicken and Dumpling was not very good neither was the pie. The Chicken and Dumpling was watery, the dumpling was over done and too large for the serving. I got four small pieces of chicken and the vegetables were over done. The rosemary was over powering, there needs to be a lighter hand with the seasoning. I got a piece of Chocolate Cream Supreme and there was hardly any pie and mostly whipped topping. The plate had standing water on it and it watered down the chocolate sauce they put on the plate as a garnish.

So we're cruising back from a day of sledding on Mt. Hood with the kiddos and, as is frequently the case with young children, mine decides he needs to pee...now. The rental minivan is instantaneously careened over to the right lane, spraying the interior windows with granola, juice and the delightful laughter of children...abruptly followed by a last second dive into the seemingly lone break in the perpetual curb that is outer SE Burnside. We then saunter up in our motorized rental version of a velour track suit next to the 80s Cadillacs, PT Cruisers, early 90s Pontiac Grand Prixs and, I kid you not, a beige IROC (Def Leopard whispering its siren song of truth in our heads). I bound toward the door with son's legs in a death clench around my neck, terrifyingly aware of even the slightest delay's consequence on my neck and upper back Suddenly...there were pies. There were silent, listless elders out for their Sunday afternoon, post-sacrament meal. There was a tired (single?) mother with three children, who were accosting her spirit as if it were the McDonald's playpen which she undoubtedly negotiated them up from. Thus, my terror of serving as a urinal to my 35 lb prodigy was suddenly met with the cold, hard, unrelenting truth of reality...and the thousand yard death stare of acceptance which manifests it....and pies. I am happy to report that the lavatory was in working order. Toilet paper and warm water indeed flowed free. Business finished, we stepped back into the dining area and quickly removed ourselves from the premises. The twinge of concern I typically feel for using bathrooms at restaurants at which I have no intention of dining was met with knowing eyes by the waitress. She'd seen it all, and much more, before. I'm giving three stars as I'd rather skew the average up, rather than down. I remember Shari's from my early teenage years - drinking massive amounts of coffee and waiting for someone's older friend/brother to call us back and say whether his "guy" was holding. For reasons that should be apparent, I can't speak for the food. But if you go, for crying out loud please tip the waitresses. They're the shell-shocked veterans of the service industry.

For some reason the mashed potates are always just mildly warm with a couple of cold, lumpy spots. I suspect it's stored in a refrigerator and microwaved. Not sure why it's never served hot. I order the small steak well done now to try and make sure I'm getting something cooked when I ordered my meal. Avoid the fish stick that comes with the fish and shrimp meal. It's a gut bomb.

Cheap food. Shari's standard. The service at this particular Shari's is hit or miss. We had one waitress almost completely ignore us, serving all the tables around us, but I was simply unable to get a refill on my soda. She even rolled her eyes at me when I finally got her attention and asked for one. If I ever felt less welcome, it was with this girl. Our food was half-finished and she came over and asked us if we wanted boxes! Talk about feeling unwelcome! Other times, the wait staff are fully involved, and I've noticed the morning manager is really on top of the customers and getting involved. So it's not a horrible place to go for a standard breakfast, but I've certainly had better. Again, cheap, comparatively speaking, to many other places.

So, I admit, I have come here A LOT due to the fact it's a 24hour sit down place. Sometimes I really just want to go to a restaurant and sit, being in a tiny apartment will do that to a person. However, this doesn't mean I liked it...basically, they hire people from the high school and don't seem to care what they do after basic training. Then, late at night, most of the people that come in are also high school kids that know them. We have sat there for a good 20 minutes being ignored by the one waitress because she wanted to stand there gossiping with her friends. This has not happened just once, but three times. Now, flagging her down even while being nice is probably not safe, there are maybe two staff members late at night and one chef...I'm sure there won't be any witnesses if they did anything to my food. Which I swear they would if I gave them a reason to. The food is absolutely nothing special. You can certainly buy the ingredients and with google, make it all yourself with a food network recipe and it will probably taste more flavorful. This I didn't mind so much, I'm going there because I don't WANT to make it myself. But charging over 7 dollars for chicken strips and some wilted fries? Seven dollars for a waffle and over the top sweetened strawberries? I'm paying double, if not triple, for crap I can find at Winco just down the street and heat up in the microwave too. Have YOU looked at YOUR bill? WE looked at our bill, and we switched. Fast food runs or even Winco to take home and watch something while we ate, I don't complain with two full bellies under ten bucks and a damn canned soda when I want it. I haven't bothered going there for a long time now.

I have been coming to this Shari's for a few years and always enjoy my time here. Whether it's with friends or family, or by yourself to study and steal Wi-Fi, it's very enjoyable any time of day. The food is pretty good, not super spectacular, but it's a diner chain so what can you expect? Reasonable prices and wait time for your food, and the staff are very friendly. The pie is pretty amazing also, I highly recommend grabbing a slice to take home with you.

You get what you pay for. My friends and I always go late (yay for 24 hour service) and the night crew tends to be a bit funnier and more helpful then the daytime oldies. Anyways, desserts are good here, especially their pies, and breakfast isn't half bad either. I like the Breakfast Sandwich, etc. For GRESHAM, it's probably the best option you've got after 11 PM except fast food...but if you want to drive out west to Portland, then you will find much better offers...hence the 3 stars.
