Best Chinese food in Portland. Pork fried rice is unreal. I have not found any better rice than here. Service is great. Egg flower soup is also amazing not to mention prices are fair. My wife and I have not found a better Chinese restaurant. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I love this restaurant and the owners are great. I've been going here for many years now and every time it's great. You can tell that the food is high quality made fresh every time. My favorite thing is the chicken fried rice with extra chicken. OMG!! Every thing on the menu is really good. Great place to eat! P.s. I own a food cart in down town Portland. Food is my second language!! ;)

Food was great, services was excellent, hot and sour soup was amazing. They just kept bringing food to the table. Prices were very reasonable. I would definitely come here again. The young girl who waited on us was nice and personable and that was very refreshing.

Good food and even better service. I mentioned that I was a little cold and the nice Server turned up just for me. If you don't call that good service than I don't know what is. It's a Nice and quite place to enjoy dinner. Will definitely return.

I give Lee's Garden a solid 3 stars; it's not horrible and it's not fabulous. It's just about what you'd expect on the outskirts: American style Chinese food. Considering the lack of stellar dining options in this area, it wasn't bad. The prices are fair, the ingredients seemed fresh, the recipes might well have come from the 60's.

Food is always great and the portions are huge. It would be a 5 star review if they had better egg rolls. We do love there egg flower soup, crab puffs and everything else we have tried.

Been going to this place for over 20 years. The food is amazing and the people are friendly. I moved away from the area and always look forward to going back. Their fried rice and egg rolls are spot on.

Some of the best Chinese food in Gresham. It might even be THE best. The staff is authentic, and while they may not always be the easiest to understand, or maybe even the friendliest, Vicki is hands down the best. She is sincere, friendly and accommodating. I've been eating their food for nigh on sixteen years now. Ever since Hung Far Lo sold and became crap, Lee's Garden has been my go to for good, consistent food. The curry chicken in delicious, the house lo mein is cram packed with all the meats, they use foo yee in their mar far chicken, and my favorite part, the crab puffs. Most places, you pay eight bucks for six. Here, double the puffs, and cheaper too. And fresh and delicious to boot. They have an almost guaranteed pick up.time of 20 minutes from the time you call, longer only for gigantic orders. They have daily specials, a small american menu for picky kids, tea and almond cookies for sale, and even suckers for the kids when the meal is over. The only thing that's cheesy is the chinese elevator music of classic songs. But then again, there's a special place in my heart for a Chinese Love Potion Number Nine.

Its pretty gross. But for the area, I can see why people like it. Its for the people that live in that weird area of gresham. (Tweakers)

The egg rolls! Just get an egg roll. It is like stuffing rolled in a shell battered and fried. The fried rice is okay not to bad not dry at all. The chow mein is traditional with bean sprouts so be prepared. Truly though get THE EGGROLL.

Lee's Garden is the absolute hands down best Chinese food anywhere. We order the hot and sour soup every time we go and it is full of ingredients, not the watered down bs at other restaurants. The best dishes are sweet and sour spareribs, Szechwan chicken (spelling?) and mushroom beef. Regardless of where you live it is worth the trip!

My favorite Chinese restaurant. The Egg Drop soup is the best I've ever had at a Chinese place, especially love that it doesn't have ToFu. Their sweet and sour sauce is very good as well. Never liked sweet and sour chicken until them, now I will only eat it there and one other place. Their Chicken Chow Mein is good. Their whole menu is good. Love this place!

Love this place. We go here about once every other week. The fried rice is good, but I've had better elsewhere which is why only 4 instead of 5 stars. But the egg rolls are the best part! They are our absolute favorite! I go and order just the egg rolls they are that amazing!

Hmmm.. Seems to be a lack of reviews for this place. I wonder why? Probably because no one gets chinese food in Rockwood/Gresham. I have been going to Lee's Garden since childhood. It used to be my favorite chinese food. It is still a gulity, ghetto pleasure when I'm having dinner with the fam. Typical American version of chinese food. Over priced for the quality. The menu is full of "Traditional" dishes. Lots of gelatinous, corn starch based sauces. Sweet and Sour, Hawaiian, Kung Pao, etc... The pork fried rice always has a slightly dish soapy finish to it. I do give them credit for deveining their shrimp. No poop shoots are a bonus. The Almond chicken should be called "Celery and Peas in Slimey Clear Sauce with the occasional piece of boiled chicken". Like I said,I have a soft spot in my heart for bad chinese food. It takes me back to being a kid. I am always tempted to eat here on Christmas Eve and do my best "A Christmas Story" re enactment. I don't think I really need to sum this place up other than saying, it's Chinese food in Rockwood/ Gresham. You figure the rest out.

Maybe it was an off-night. I don't know. What I do know is that I love Chinese food and this was wretched stuff. Truly. I wanted to like this place since its fairly close to my new house..So I stopped by and got some take-out: Chow Mein consisted mostly of bean sprounts, some onion, some canned mushrooms, a couple of waterchestnuts and some tiny bits of meat. No real flavor. Egg Fu Yung: How hard is this to make? Tastless. Gravy had way too much gelatin in it. Nice color of brown if thats what you want. Fried Shrimp: Over fried, too much breading not enough flavor. I don't know what could ever make me go back here. I've eaten in some real hole in the wall type Chinese places that are sheer wonders of flavor and value. This place sadly was just plain awful. I only ate about 1/4 of the meal and dumped the rest down the garbage disposal. Waste of my money and my time.

This was really pretty awful. I ordered the general tso's chicken. It was burned. Sauce doesn't hide that. The waitress just seemed to be trying to rush us out the door and when I told her my food was burned all she said was "oh." No offer to replace it or fix the situation in any way. I will never go back.

It's nowhere near the best Chinese I've ever had, but it's solid, and the best I can seem to find around here. It's the same Cantonese menu I've grown up with, but done quite well. I get a little nostalgic for egg foo young, moo shoo, and chow foon every now and then, and Lee's is about the best I can find. The service is always friendly and attentive. The portions are generous. I always have a good experience.

Why elaborate? These guy make the best Chinese food in town. Great value and friendly service. We love everything on their menu. You got to try their "Hot & Spicy Chicken" its amazing! If you prefer white meat, don't be afraid to ask, they are very flexible. We only eat white chicken meat and they change the meat on our dishes every time; in fact they have been doing it for the past 12 years since we became regulars. Overall, their quality and service is very consistent.

My aunt and uncle were actually the original owners of Lee's Garden. I remember always wanting to work behind the counter and take care of the register because it seemed like such a cool job! And that's also where all the Dum Dums were, so of course it was the best place to be! I have so many fond memories from childhood of heading over there with my parents and visiting with them and they would always make me a cheeseburger and crinkle-cut fries. This was definitely a treat since my parents didn't make American food at home! I wish more places would serve crinkle-cut fries... I was there about 2 years ago and it was nice to see that the new owners had not changed much of the interior and kept the name. I didn't have a cheeseburger, but I did have the broccoli and beef and some egg drop soup -- still very good. I will always love this place and I hope it will still be around for a while longer.

I was not impressed with the food or the service. My egg roll was hard and gross. chicken was soggy. The sause was sickningly sweet. The lady behind the counter was very rude.

Fresh, home made food. We eat there quite a bit and sometimes pick up food to go. We've been cpstumers for over 12 years and never had a complaint about the quality of food or freshness. It is a family run restaurant, the staff is always very nice. The food is made fresh and you can taste the difference. The portions are large and very affordable. You may not like the outside looks but it is well worth stopping in.

Having grown up in a house about a mile away, Lee's Garden has been a family favorite since I was born. I still have fond memories of stopping at the counter on the way out to get a sour apple Dum Dum. The place has not changed much in the last 20 years... and that's just fine. Let's just lay a few things on the table up-front. What Lee's is not: -Authentic -MSG-free -Ashamed of playing American oldies music that's been cheesily reinterpreted with Asian instruments and sounds. What Lee's does well: -Best. Egg rolls. Ever. -Crab puffs. Barbecued pork. Pork fried rice. -Serves you two meals worth of food for about $10/person. -Gets your food out in a hurry. They also have the standard free oolong tea and the combos come with better-than-decent cup of egg flower soup. The staff is friendly. The service is good. For family-owned Americanized Chinese, I have yet to find anywhere else this good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
