High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. Without hesitation I would describe Applebee's as mediocre. The highlight of my dinner experience was that the to-go boxes weren't even boxes but more like Tupperware (reusable and free!), and the low point was that the food tasted somewhat microwaved. (Not in a bad way, just in a microwaved way.) I give this place a solid thumbs sideways, my experience was adequate. They're open late and if you're already in the area might as well stop by for some moderately priced appetizers. Extra: There was also a very sad looking man making mediocre balloon animals and every once in a while we made awkward eye contact. I felt kind of bad for him.

My daughter & I came here for lunch today and it was great as always! We've been coming to this location about 4 years now and have never had bad service or bad food. Thank you!

Great service and friendly staff. They have machines at your table to be able to order and pay for your meal. You can page your waiter/waitress if you need something and can't find them to ask. The food was really good and it was a nice price. We got the two for twenty ribs and made it a platter for like 1.50 more. Was too much food to eat at the restaurant and got to take some home with me. After we slid our card to pay for the meal the waitress brought the actual paper receipt for us.

Took my daughter here for a pre-birthday lunch. Amazing!! Riblet basket with fries for her, cedar grilled chicken with apple relish for me, boneless wings for an appetizer. Wonderful waitstaff, hostess, manager, and food. Only thing I would say is the apple relish was a tad heavy on the lime, but it was fantastic. VERY moist chicken on a bed of moist wild rice/quinoa. Food to the table quickly. Kept our iced tea filled.

Our server Tony was great, real great sense of humor he played a long with my jokes, food was alright my fries were way salty didn't touch them, my raspberry tea tasted like yogurt. Everything else was alright. I'd go back they have decent prices

My waiter was great.... But I ordered my steak med rare and it was way over cooked.... It did take forever to get the meal and if I complained about the meat I would have to wait 15+ for a replacement... I was thankful the meat was cooled and the right temp.

Had a gift card to use for this restaurant. We were seated by the Barmaid, who didn't seem happy at all. The table we were at had ants all over it. Brought this to the managers attention, she moved us to a new table, and apologized. Our waiter was HORRIBLE, we had to ask for everything, refills, silverware, water......Our food was served cold, Didn't bother trying to find the waiter about it. Food quality is POOR. I would NOT recommend this Restaurant.

Greeting and service is hit and miss. Sometimes we come in and wait for someone to notice there are customers, while sometimes we're seated immediately. Sometimes the server takes forever and sometimes they're just perfect. The crap on the TVs is boring, and the decorations are really cliche. At least most of them are pleasing, because who doesn't love those old photographs that are in every place. Food is just sub par, usually alright and cheap enough. I do tend to love the riblets but the amount of meat on them can be disappointing. Taste, though, is good. It's worth upgrading the two for twenty meals and get more, it's still cheap. And their artichoke dip is divine. Sometimes the food is great but I've not had a meal that was utterly awful. A bit charred yes, but not inedible. Really young crowd, can get loud and crowded. Oh well. Good enough for those days you don't want to eat at home and don't want to spend a fortune.

Friday night at 5:30 we struggled to find a parking spot but were happy our party of 5 was seated quickly. Both my husband and I had the fish & chips which was greasy. We rated our food a 2 out of 5. Dessert were both 5's. Our guest ate with out comment. The service was very excellent. The food was all delivered at once by three people. We usually eat at the 82nd ave restaurant and enjoy the menu.

It's not Great, but then not Horrible either. Average food, average prices, average service. Although the Hostesses seemed to rather chat with each other than greet guests. Any how, if you are out of ideas or everywhere else is just too crowded then give this place a shot. Other than that I wouldn't go too far out of my way.

My husband and I are avid Apple bee's goers but I will say we will never go to the Gresham location again. Although it is the closest to our home we are usually during the day closer to the 82nd location which is our favorite! We went the Gresham one for the first time around 9:30 on a Wednesday waiting forever to EVEN be greeted then seated. We were seated and were not thrilled with our food or the service we received. I also don't love the layout of the inside of this location. The other locations I have been to a employee greets you IMMEDIATELY at the door and even opens the doors for you its over the top this location No one even really smiled or seemed friendly and we DEFINITELY were not greeted for some time! AVOID this location go the other one on 82nd near Salvation Army!

We waited forever for a waitress to take our order. Then we waited forever to get our food. It wasn't very busy either. When I got my order I began to eat it and wondered if I had ordered the right thing. I hailed a waiter and ask him to get a menu to see if I ordered what I had wanted. We compared the food with the description and I said but where is the broccoli. I took apart my food with my fork and there inside in the sauce were some little tiny green dots. He said oh there it is. He was nice enough though to bring me a little dish of broccoli.

A big fan of their Carside to Go service. Everything I order is well packaged and once I get home, it's presentation is just as good as if I sat in the restaurant and ate it!

Thanks Vincent, for ruining my evening tonight. You are seriously not meant to be a bartender or be in any type of service related industry work. I had to write a review this evening in regards to my displeasure with the bartender here for dinner. Vincent, has absolutely no common courtesy, no rapport, no followup, and was too big headed for apologizing for an obvious mistake. If I was a secret shopper and I had to survey this restaurant this evening based on his performance this restaurant would have absolutely failed under his actions. In the beginning he was ok. It was a simple greeting nothing personable at all. He took my order and got my drink. After I received my food from him that was the last he would speak to me until he picked up my plate. Never once did he: *Smile *Ask me how I was doing *Follow up with me *Never offered dessert or additional beverages(no upsale whatsoever) *Offer me the check He seemed to be caught up making drinks for his associates and following up with his regulars that held a precedent over the other patrons here. I had to ask the hostess to tell the manager to get the inattentive bartender to get my check after waiting for 20 minutes. She tells the bartender and even then his other customers were still more important so he chose to serve their drinks first then attend to me. He gets my check and doesn't apologize for his actions or even discuss it to ease the situation. He gives me a dirty look and drops the check off with no thank you. He stuck around a little bit to watch over me as I signed my credit card receipt as if to see whether I was going to tip him or not. I still chose to tip him even though I was disgusted by his service. I tried to give you guys a chance after my last horrible service at your Vancouver location. It seems to me you guys really don't care about your customers here. So I think its time we went our separate ways. I WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN..... Update: 04/01/13, I came here not long ago cause my friends were already here at the bar. Still choosing to boycott giving any of my money to this establishment I walked in grudgingly into the bar and guess who was working? Yes, its Vince once again. I did not order a thing but I did find humor in seeing that you clearly remembered me cause you could not stop giving me dirty looks the whole time I was there. You obviously haven't grown up Vince. Hopefully you'll learn from your errors someday.

I visited this location this last Friday evening. My husband and I always sit in the bar. There is a nice young lady that often works this area she is one of the best servers in the place. She seems to be able to relate to all of her guests. We had a nice evening.

I recently came into this restaurant because I had gotten a gift card for Christmas. Decided to take my mom, little sister and daughter here for dinner. The hostess was okay. No life in her at all. Waited quite awhile for appetizers. Our actual waitress, I do not remember her name, was very nice and paid attention to us. But the food was so horrid. I ordered just a normal cheeseburger and it tasted like crap. Burnt on the outside, nice on the inside. Turn the heat down a little to cook please. All in all, next time I get a gift card to Applebee's, I'm selling it.

Had I did this review a couple of month's ago, this might have been a solid 3 stars. However, the location in Gresham managed to pull them down to a solid 2. I don't mind going to Applebee's for salad and their steak is good for lunch, nothing you'd rush the out of town relatives to eat, but a solid lunch choice. I went in on Thursday and they know us there because I meet my son for lunch a couple times a month. So, I was surprised when the hostess said, let me sit you in the bar, Megan, (yeah, Megan, I am calling you out by name) said she knows you. This game would later be explained to me by my son, that Megan had zero customers and they wanted us to give her some business, ie tips. We go in the bar area and I see one other table in that area with a customer. Okay, fine, she will be on it. Well, really now.. that jinxed me, I should banish those hopeful thoughts. Megan did not know me, or how to bring out anything. My son arrived and we ordered. We got the chicken won ton tacos for an appetizer. Those always come first. Not this time, salad and soup hit the table and about ten minutes later the tacos. She didn't refill drinks or come back. From where I sat I could see out to the rest of Applebee's where the customers were laughing and eating and unicorns pranced and magic fairies were refilling drinks as fast as customers could drink them. Then reality smacks me in the head and my plate comes from the kitchen from somebody else, other than Megan. So, I see bacon and cheese in little cups and think, mmmhhmm what is that? Since I didn't order them, I should have asked, but hey nobody came back. They were on the other side of Applebee's divider wall reveling in the unicorn magic of good service. So, when Megan did drop my check off and ran, I see I am charged $1.50 for the bacon and cheese. I had to wait for her to get done telling the other table about her trip to Mexico, to get her attention and ask what the charge was. She said you asked for EVERYTHING on the side. I said, no I asked for the sour cream on the side. She got a little snippy about it and insisted I asked for it and finally she says,"THIS ONE TIME..". Okay, anytime a server or any other person in the position of power over your final tab utters, THIS ONE TIME.. you know they think they are right and you are an idiot and please crawl out of there grateful for their act of kindness. I can safely say the next time I go back, I will be leaving covered in unicorn glitter.

Service was a little slow, but the food was delicious and the lunch specials allow you to mix and match for a reasonable amount. I think there was just 1 person working the bar area and 1 person in the dining room. The food was slow coming out though and we had a drive ahead of us so it was a little annoying...

This place is the reason movies like "Waiters" are made. I walked in and no one was at the front...no one. I have never been to a restaurant without a single person to greet and/or seat me (except fast food of course). I seated myself in the bar. After quite a while, no menu, no acknowledgement of any kind. I got up and picked up a menu from the front server counter. Still no response from the staff. The bartender (not that far from me) was more interested in flirting with the trashy and loud strippers from the nearby 505 club (I think that's who they were because I can't imagine most people acting that obnoxious and obviously being regulars at Applebees; they share the same parking lot). Again, I took matters into my own hands and went up to the bartender to place my order. After a bit longer, a woman finally walked from the back, wearing a different uniform than the standard waiter/waitress, which makes me think she was the manager. She awkwardly walked around the restaurant, seeming to do her required rounds and look "manager" like. However she actually accomplished nothing than register a few steps on her pedometer. When done, she sat at the bar and read the paper for a while. WOW! I have never seen a place hire such sloths as staff. When my food came, it was disgusting! I'm not a picky eater and HATE wasting food. However, this was the worst I've ever had. I could have gone to Costco and bought their frozen wings for much better quality. The food was extremely salty and watery. I tried to finish it, but my stomach protested loudly that another bit would cause vomit all over the benches. While trying to eat my food, a waiter entered from the main room to hang with the bartender. He was bragging that one of the earlier customers, who he slept with a few nights earlier was there with her boyfriend. The girl was concerned that it was awkward. Waiterboy told her he didn't care and that he knew she had a boyfriend and still hooked up with her anyways. He thought it was funny that the boyfriend choose to eat at the restaurant he (the waiter) works at, laughing at this guy as if he's an idiot because he has no clue. During this time, this same waiter was also flirting with the trashy, stripper girls. His demeanor was laughable because he clearly thinks he's the cat's meow and can have his pick of the women that enter Applebees. It was also interesting that the staff had such unprofessional behavior and were so candid directly in front of customers. Overall, I only recommend this place If you want to get your yearly salt intake with a single meal, which you can at least easily wash down with the runny water in your food! If you've missed your normal dose of Jerry Springer, then this is where you should be. I guarantee you won't be bored, unless you just wait the whole time at the front door for someone to come and seat you, or bring a menu, or take your order.
