A beautiful mountain with many scenic activities and photo ops... unless it is fogged in like today. The lodge is nice, if warm. The staff friendly, for the most part. And LOUD people everywhere, including small-ish children in long johns using the elevator by themselves. (WTF? Obviously parents are pre-occupied elsewhere.) if you disregard the rude people, the place is fantastic!
The best mountain in the world. The mountain all other mountains want to be. Can be a real sweetheart that can satisfy most of your sporting and or spiritual needs but you must respect the mountain. The view from the top is unbelievable. Four great ski /boarder areas; multiple lakes; fantastic hiking trails; the quintessential Timberline Lodge. Only the jaded would find fault with this mountain.
New Years was Awesome with The Traveling Foto Box!! thetravelingfotobox.com . The Fireworks were very impressive. Good vibe on the mountain all night. Good Times!!

Lovely little spot, with amiable owners (who have an amazing, inspiring story) and authentic, delicious Czech food. Get the goulash! Highly recommended.
Delicious food!!! We had the cheese pizza for the kids. Very kids friendly and they brought out bread for the kids to munch on while we waited. Beer never tasted so good in a long time. Just what my thirsty throat needed. The food was timely and delicious. I ate so much and still could not stop myself from eating. The house made sausage was to die for as so was their cream puff. The tiramisu was also very good and fairly authentic.
Yummy and amazing Food!! Lots of comfort foods and great beer. Perfect for after skiing

This place shall forever be the greatest Bar / Saloon / Family Restaurant known to grace this planet Earth. Friendly waitstaff eager to provide you with excellent service. Amazing bartenders that pour fantastic drinks to one of the toughest crowds in the state of Oregon. Surly locals that won't take a lick of sass from any city folk. And hands down the most amazing decor you will ever experience in any establishment. Bear cage for patio seating in the front and a horseshoes pit in the back during the summer time. If you haven't stopped in for a Char - burger and gator taters you're surely missing out.
If it hadn't been for my faith in yelp, I never would've walked in this place, but I am so glad that I did! After visiting Timberline Lodge, we were looking for a place to eat on our way back to Portland. Government Camp is a small town at the bottom of the ski lift to Timberline Lodge. It was pretty abandoned looking, but that is to be expected for a ski town on a Sunday in August. Charlie's looks like a typical biker bar from the front, complete with regulars smoking and propping the place up on the front patio. Inside is a wood paneled, lodge looking restaurant with mostly large tables to accommodate the ski crowds. The two of us took over a big table overlooking the gorgeous view out of the one back window. We seemed to be there right in between shifts because the person who started our order was on his way out and service was really slow. The first server was super friendly and assured us that we would be helped. We shared a coconut appetizer, an off menu pear salad (requested from the yelp reviews) and the mushroom burger. Everything was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Coming from the bay area where a meal like that would've cost double, I really appreciated the laid back atmosphere with inexpensive, delicious food.
Don't know about the food yet but the wait time is ridiculous. You can literally die from hunger at this place if you didn't have enough energy reserves. Just where I wanted to spend an hour and a half of my day. I agree with the other comment that McDonalds would beat this place hands down.
