Ohhhh so good. Steak torta was amazing and everything was so fresh. The tamale melted in my mouth and the chile rellano was filled to perfection. This was the perfect stop on a family road trip. Everyone left full and happy.
Wholly cheese and sauce!!! If you go here, do yourself a favor and tell them easy on the cheese and sauce when you order! If I wasn't so hungry I would've not eaten some of it at all and gone to the subway for something not so drenched in cheese and sauce. I picked through it and the chile relleno I ordered was filled with cheese and soaked in a red sauce, the same red sauce that my one cheese one chicken enchilada were drenched in. The chicken enchilada was decent but the others were way too much.
Fantastic fresh authentic Mexican food. The shrimp fajitas are amazing. The tamales are even better! Great service and great food. I definitely will be back.

Excellent service, large selection. Meatball sandwich and pizza were yummy!!! Great place to grab and bite and hang out awhile.
My husband and I came her with our kids on out vacation cause it looked like a nice little pizza joint. I waited on the car while my husband went in cause we where taking it to go. I was getting curious when it felt like my husband had been gone forever... 55 min to be exact for a to go order. After my husband got back to the car he told me that he sat there and waited in the assigned waiting area for our food. He walked around while the staff looked right at him. When they took his order they also took his name in his thinking that they would call it when the pizza was done but nope... after a little while he went up to the desk and asked the staff when his pizza would be done and they told him "oh its been done we thought you left" when he told them that he had been waiting in there waiting area they laughed and told him "no one ever Waits there." Like he would know being from out of town. Our pizza was cold and not very good. Not much flavor. NEVER GOING TO THIS PIZZA PLACE AGAIN!!!
Good spot and family friendly! Fresh! Pros: -we had a gluten free crust combo pizza, which was delicious and fresh. They loaded the toppings on which was awesome. And I mean loaded. -sweet potato fries were yummy - not fancy, reminded me of 1980s pizza house with video games in the establishment. But does have ocean view. It's not right on the water but several tables have a semi-ocean view. - family run Cons: - there's no wait service. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. Not a huge deal, but I'm lazy. -had a couple flies buzzing around. But it's a huge place and wasn't what I would consider problematic. Totally recommend!

The best Mexican food in the county. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I enjoy the fish tacos. Great value, great food, great service. Hard to find in this town.
Yummmmmy! Now I know where to go for Mexican food in Oregon. Maybe it's a good thing that it is a 5 hour drive from Portland, otherwise I might gain a few pounds a week eating at Playa Del Sol. I really enjoyed my Crab enchilada accompanied by chips, salsa, salad, rice and beans all for less than $10.
Went to a 6:30 Thursday night dinner - BIG MISTAKE! The place was virtually empty, yet it took over an hour to get food. Had no chili rellanos. The enchiladas were fine, but all of our tacos were cold. The waitress could see we were not eating much, so she inquired. The owner comes over, puts her hand on my shoulder and says, "I'm going to apologize for one thing and one thing only." Really? Then she blames the waitress for not telling us it was going to be an hour wait. But she, the owner, had served our drinks - couldn't she have mentioned it? We ordered guacamole during the wait - it never came. They bring the check, we slide the card in the holder and wait and wait and wait. The children are tired, we're bummed by the arrogance of the owner and again, we're waiting! I say to my wife - "I'll wait 5 more minutes - if they don't come we're going to have to walk out to get them to take the credit card." We waited the 5 minutes and walked outside. We walked very slowly to the car, all the while holding the card ready to pay someone. Finally a guy runs out screaming he was going to call the police. Then a very nice lady cook comes out, listens to our situation and takes our card in and runs it. What a bum of an evening! So now I'm reading other reviews about long waits. There were only 3 occupied tables while we were there, so be prepared for a long, inattentive dinner if you choose this hole in the wall.

Rachel’s Coffee House

Reviews:
Passing through new town that we had never visited, we stopped at the local visitor center to find a coffee shop. They referred us to Rachel's. Their location is inside a bookstore but feels like its own location with plenty of seating. The service was friendly and quick. The coffee was full-bodied and the Marion berry and white chocolate chip scone was the best we have had in a while. I got my coffee for free when I bought a mug for my daughter (also named Rachel). If we ever pass through town again, we will definitely stop in again.
Wonderful little coffee shop in a shared space with Gold Books. Get their Pecan Sticky Bun, apparently they go very quickly in the morning. I lucked out and got the last one that morning and it was perfect. This seems to be a local meeting place of sorts. The morning I was in, a group of local senior citizens seemed to be having their daily morning meeting, talking about local news and what not. Free wifi, great chai, this is a great spot to hit up.
Stopped in as I was passing through town in the early morning hours. I was surprised to see this place open even though it's in a bookstore. I'm a coffee snob and I was skeptical about getting a great latte at this small town bookstore corner carve-out staffed by really young women. To my surprise and delight, they prepared my latte exactly to order (no foam, barely heat the milk to hot) AND the espresso itself was fantastic. BONUS.. I had my own cup so I paid the price for a small coffee for a medium. The seating space was large, clean and welcoming and as an added bonus, not a bad little bookstore. Great coffee, great space.. Definitely a great experience.

I read the great reviews on Yelp, and heard from my friends that this was the place to have breakfast in Gold Beach. So glad we are there today!! Super friendly place, and fantastic, home-cooked foods. I wouldn't say it was "divey", but I would say it has that "Small town diner" feel. Great coffee...and that's from an Oregon "Coffee Snob". Sometimes, you just want a good 'ol Cup of Joe. Everything we ordered was so good. Seriously the best veggie omelet I've ever had! I was also able to take home half of my plate for breakfast tomorrow. Huge portion sizes. Perfect hash browns, and a biscuit the way my Grandma made them. We will most-certainly be back when we are in this area again. Five stars for the food, service and coffee. Great Diner!
Affordable, no bells and whistles. But simple yummy food. The biscuits were so fluffy, and the owner was a sweetie!
Great family diner. BEWARE of portion sizes; my wife and I could've easy split one plate. The cook was nice enough to make a Mickey pancake for my 2 yr-old. The Spanish omelet was great.

What a great couple of cakes this Dairy Queen did. Thanks so much for making a his and a hers pre wedding cakes. His was in camo and so masculine. Hers was pink and roses. The staff did a great job for us. Thanks to our home town Dairy Queen!
Went in for the bathroom and a small bit of ice cream. Happily, they had the cherry coating for the ice cream, which a lot of places don't have. We caught them (unintentionally) at closing, and they were friendly and didn't try to just kick us out.
Hadn't been to a DQ in awhile, came here while I was waiting for the Dial A Ride bus. This is a typical Dairy Queen. I ordered popcorn shrimp. Was ok. But this chain isn't known for food, they are known for Ice Cream. What do you expect? Ordered a Carmel Sundae, and it was really good, typical of Dairy Queen. Although I ordered popcorn shrimp WITH a drink, the cashier charged me the price WITHOUT a drink, yet still gave me a cup for my drink. (Difference was $1) Ethical quandary: Do you say something or not? I decided to be honest!

Great place to stop for a really good macchiato or espresso. They also have good cookies and other local farmers market products.
Was looking forward to a great dinner here but there was a "closed" sign and a restaurant for sale sign out front! This was on 8/15/12.
Excellent organic cafe. Note this is no longer a higher end dinner place as some previous reviewers noted. Exterior does not reflect relaxed atmosphere inside.

Spinner’s Seafood Steak & Chophouse

Reviews:
Ate here this evening. I had fresh caught local cedar plank salmon and my husband had slow roasted lamb shank. Both were absolutely wonderful. The entrees included a delightful fresh salad, potatoes and nicely cooked vegetables. This place is a real treat. I highly recommend it.
I love this place. It is one of the few places on the coast where you can get a genuinely well prepared dinner. The prices are proportional to the quality of the food, and frankly, it keeps the riff raff out. The lobster tail is delicious, as is any of their steaks. It is worth the hour drive once in a while. Had the interior been more updated they would have received 5 stars.
Good things first: After my fork walked off with my plate, the waiter brought me a new fork without being asked, which basically never happens, so that was an unlooked-for plus. The food was good, generally speaking. Now for the criticism: Spinner's is basically the fancier, more expensive cousin of Black Bear Diner. I'm not sure that the difference in tab was justified, though. Again, the food was good... BUT it's too much, taste-wise. The rolls were kind of confusing. It was dark (dinner lighting) so all I remember is that the rolls were flecked with black (maybe sesame or something? I have no idea) and tasted different than what I'm used to. The "buffalo" burger (not that this continent has any buffalo that I'm aware of) tasted too much like the swiss cheese and not enough like the bison. As for the scallops+salmon+prawns kebab, the shrimp, scallops, and sauce tasted too strongly of their respective tastes so that I was drinking a lot of water in between bites.
