My husband and I both had the Fish & Chips lunch. The halibut was excellent - lightly breaded, very crispy and not greasy at all. Was it breaded in-house? No idea, but regardless, it was excellent. The slaw was wonderful - not heavy on the mayo. Service friendly and fast. We would definitely come here again for Fish & Chips.

My husband and I like to come here for breakfast. Its not full of healthy options but more that I'm feeling bad and want fresh baked biscuits smothered in home made sausage gravy kind of place. It could use an update the furnishings have a neglected air but its always clean and the staff are friendly.

It's sad to me to have a sea-themed restaurant sitting on the wharf with hundreds of working fishing boats nearby, in a 150-year-old fishing town, not have a SINGLE FRESH FISH DISH on the menu! Not one!! I even asked if they could take any of their cuts of fish and grill or bake it instead of frying - nope! It all comes in pre-breaded, which suggests it's fully processed "factory food" long removed from any fishing boat. So if you love "all you can eat fish and chips" that seems to be their specialty - deep fried foods, plus big greasy burgers and greasy fries - that's what the Troller is all about, not what the name troller would suggest - fresh fish! I opted for one of the relatively few things that wasn't either a burger or deep fried - the grilled chicken caesar salad for a rather steep $14 - Blah iceberg lettuce, with below-average grilled chicken, and of course since it's a frying place, was accompanied by fried croutons and deeply buttered slices of toast. Fortunately I asked for the dressing on the side - thick and gravy-like, and almost a full cup of it. It was a very dense high-fat high-calorie dressing and not very good to begin with. I used it sparingly and left most of it behind. The whole place seems tired and old and dirty. Stained sticky menus and furniture, dirty restroom, and overall worn out interior, infused with decades of deep fry oil mist in the air and before the ban, decades of cigarette ooze that never really went away. In many ways it seems a restaurant that's just given up trying and now caters to the lowest common palate - burgers and fried stuff. The service however was just wonderful - very nice people - very friendly and talkative and attentive. And I'm quite sure if you're into the foods they're good at, the place is just fine. I was just sad that sitting in such a picturesque place that there weren't a dozen fresh dishes of salmon, cod, and halibut flame grilled to perfection, with freshly caught salmon and other bounty of the ocean brought in just that morning on the thousand little white trawlers sitting only 75 feet away... oh, what this place could be if they just tried a little harder and had a chef and owner who cared. That's how you make fish and chips. Halibut was fresh and flaky and the crust was spot on. Fries were crisp and fresh and the slaw was also spot on. Great service great atmosphere.

HUGE portions. even ordered a lunch sized meal, and it was still too much. my mom got the senior plate of fish and chips. LOTS of food here. I was hoping it was going to be a little smaller, as the fries? were far more than she could even think of eating. LOL everything was great, except for the waitress. I guess we arrived near the end of the shift, and for someone in such a hurry for it all to be over? we would've been out the door quicker for ya, had you given us the bill. Once we got the bill? the lady behind the register was bitching that a bill hadn't been paid. ( well, I just got the bill.... can I look at it first? ) could've been a good experience, but peoples personalities intruded on our meal, meaning, your employees don't exactly make anyone feel welcome. coulda been a bad day, I dunno. but it is what it is. nothing special. just standard oregon faire... thanks tho, for making the fish and chips halibut.

ho-hum place... We wanted a bite to eat, and was a little tired of fish & chips, so both my wife an I had a burger instead. The good: good cheap $7 burger w/fries. They got some funky thousand island special sauce that was pretty good. Healthy portion of fries. The bad: place was tired looking. Menus were sticky, like the chairs. Saw someone else eating the $15 all you can eat fish & chips and he looked pretty happy. The ugly: giant flies having a breakdance battle in the middle of the room? Water tasting a little suspect? bathroom looking disgusting? Basically if you want a good fish & chips, go across te street to Fisherman's Corner. If you want a quieter, simple and cheap burger, then this is your place. Solid 2 stars

We went to the Troller because the Shell Gas attendant highly recommended. We should have kept our original plan to go Pacific house. We Ordered rib eye steak, seafood combo, seafood fettucini, and chilling burger. The seafood was overcooked and steak was as well. The food was not that good for the price. Everything was salty and dry (overcooked). We felt it was a waste of $70.00 . The only thing that was average was the waitress. Not recommended
