This place is great. If you're in garibaldi for some reason (groupon) you should definitely come here! Bartender Jordan was super humble when I ordered a cocktail he didn't know how to make; he simply asked for help in making it, and then gave me a discount for increasing his mixologist credentials. The owner Becky was straight out of waltons. Super nice and great to chat with. A boisterous local asked for Crown on the rocks, but Becky realized she was out. What does she do? RUNS ACROSS THE STREET, MID SHIFT AND BUYS A BOTTLE OF CROWN!! Unprecedented :) Overall super friendly and welcoming. Don't be in a rush though...take your time to enjoy Garibaldi's Hook, Line, and Sinker!!

Just passing through Garibaldi, OR. for the night and had dinner at Hook, Line and Sinker. Super great service. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. But the broasted chicken was the best I have had in a very long time. You won't be disappointed! The teriyaki burger and sweet potato fries were top notch. Suggest a must stop if you are hungry and passing through Garibaldi on your coastal journey.

Really good basic pub food. Service is good. Food is a tiny bit slow, but worth the wait. I enjoyed the mushroom Swiss burger and my wife liked her blt. Yummy fries. Small town pub feel but family friendly.

There aren't a lot of choices for places to dine right in Garibaldi and we were so tired after hiking all day we opted to just walk across the street from our hotel and give this place a try. Based on checking Yelp I knew it would be hit or miss as to whether the food and service would be good. Sadly, we were there on an off night on both accounts. Our service was beyond slow and inattentive. We stood around for a while waiting for someone to notice us and then decided it's probably a seat-yourself kinda place. Okay, fine. But then we sat there and sat there. 10 minutes pass and the two servers are helping other tables right around us and no one stops. The drinks took another 10 minutes to come over (just soda, nothing fancy). Once we ordered our meals the food came out quick but neither of us thought the food was that good, either. I had fish and chips and they tasted funny, like the fry oil was old. The Hubs had a burger and didn't even finish it. It took quite some time to flag a server down to get the check and then no one came back for it so we walked up to the bar to pay.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Nice place, clean and inviting. Only had some wings which was the special but, they were very good. Some celery and/or carrots would have been nice. As a special for the night at $.50 ea, I understand why it's not included. Enjoyed some banter with the staff and a couple locals who were inviting. I think you should give this place a try.

I came here for the first time on Thursday 7/16/15 and ordered the "Big Blue" (blue cheese burger). It is sooo good. Gotta come back for more of that. They were training a new cook and she was going great guns (about a .30 caliber M-1 I think). She was working hard, doing terrifically and has a great attitude (I hate it when a place is busy and the staff starts droppin tude on the patrons!). The place was quite busy with some local folks as well as a few vacationers. Great food! Great Service! Loved the down home atmosphere! And, close to the highway so when I got drunk on my ass I didn't get lost looking for the way back to El-Whacko! Okay, I didn't get drunk on my ass. Yes I did. No I didn't. Love the HLnS I'll be back!!! Give it a try. me P.S. Kelly J, we all know you're a little scattered yourself!!! //(~_~)\\ Me

We arrived at our hotel across the street at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night, and most dinner places were already closed. We ended up eating here for the sake of convenience. We received a friendly greeting from the bartender/cook upon arrival. The place wasn't busy at all. There were a few guys drinking at the bar watching sports, and then some locals came in (friends of the waitress?) and took a table in the back. I ordered a glass of wine that tasted oxidized and was undrinkable. I decided to switch to an IPA rather than have them open a new bottle of wine just for me, but when I asked the waitress/bartender which of the three listed on the chalkboard tasted the hoppiest, she said she didn't know because she never tastes the stuff. Nevertheless, she offered to give me three tastes in shot glasses, so that worked out well. My husband's broasted chicken and potatoes was pretty good, though it tasted like they'd been using the same oil all day. My fish and chips was just okay. For $14 I got two smallish pieces of breaded cod, ordinary French fries, and a couple bites of coleslaw. The tarter sauce tasted like plain mayo from a jar with a dash of lemon juice. Meh. It satisfied my hunger, but I've had so many better meals.

Had dinner here on Aug. 7th. Ordered clam strips (ugh), cheeseburger and chicken strips. The clam strip basket looked like someone ate half of it, which would explain why it was ice cold. All of our food was cold, except the chicken strips. The server asked if all was okay as she kept going by, and I replied that is was all cold. She shrugged her shoulders and made a face, and that was the last we saw of her..... We had to ask a gentleman for our tab....Honestly I would keep on driving by......

I am frankly shocked that this place is rated so highly. My family and I came here after a day of exploring Garibaldi. Our waitress seemed very friendly, but also really scattered. She kept forgetting things that we had asked for. Also, she would come over and refill one of our drinks, but leave everyone else's empty. We started off with appetizers which came out quickly but were mediocre. They were clearly frozen and not fresh. We then ordered three burgers and a wrap. The food took FOREVER to get out to us. When it finally came, it was decent but they only brought three of our meals, my poor boyfriend had to wait an additional ten to fifteen minutes for his meal which apparently the cook had forgotten to make. Also, after our food came, our waitress and the rest of the wait staff came over every five to ten minutes to ask how we were doing. Now, I'm all for good customer service, but it seemed excessive and was actually starting to make us uncomfortable. The food here was edible, but for the most part nothing special. I do have to say, the one highlight of the experience was the wrap, which was huge and quite tasty! But the service was not the greatest. I probably wouldn't return.

Stopped in on a weekend, Sat 4/11/15. It was only a mother and daughter team. The one lady was running around and taking care of anyone and, yes it took a little bit, but she had a bad knee and the daughter had just started working (first job). When we came in, it was packed. We ordered the broasted chicken (which was delish by the way). We knew what we were up against and anyone that complains about service when it's only one person and training a person is ignorant if you know the industry. If you know the situation up front and can't wait, then don't wait! Personally, think it was worth the wait, when we came in, we were not in any hurry and we were glad to have the experience we did. We ordered the broasted chicken which is soo worth it and you know you are going to wait for broasted chicken.. come on! The chicken was juicy and flavorful. If you have young ones, plenty of things for them to do, games, video games and a pinball machine. So there is something for everyone. My best advice for you, be patient wherever you go, you just never know the situation. I mean sure I understand if you are blatently ignoring someone, but someone who cares will acknowledge you, and you may have to wait a bit, but good things come to those who wait. There is the video poker machines or whatever here and the place is fairly spacious. I woudld definitely come back.. keep up the good work!

Went in on a busy Friday night and there were a lot of dirty tables and a ton of customers. We sat at the bar and got served our drinks really fast. I ordered their deep fried mushrooms and I was surprised that they aren't the usual run of the mill bar fare. These were garlic breaded mushrooms and you could taste the difference. They also are kid friendly until 9pm so next time I'm bringing the kiddo!

Our normal post beach place was closed, and given the reviews we decided to try Hook Line 'n Sinker. It was my wife and two kids. This is a bar. It has the atmosphere of a bar, but minors are allowed, at least till 9 PM. We took a seat. The building is old. The floors are not level. Eating on an uneven table with kids is a like asking for trouble. On the plus side, they have a bunch of games and activities for kids. Playing pin ball with my boys was a lot of fun, particularly while drinking a beer. I liked hanging with my kids in a bar, and they thought it was the best. The food is where Hook, Line 'n Sinker falls flat. The entrees for adults are in the $12-$14 range, the kids meals were $4 each. Now that may or may not be a problem. My wife had the cod fish and chips (at a steep $14 for cod) and I had the fried cod wrap special. The boys had grilled cheese. The grilled cheese were in bad shape, half almost burned, the other half partially melted cheese. The fish and chips was worth maybe half what they are charging, and really wasn't very good. My special came out with a small bag of chips in stead of fries. Now the special was also $12. Now that just seems crazy pricing wise to me. As it turned out, the fries were not good though. We are a fry loving family, and all the plates were full of fries afterwards. My special wrap was large, and was good, but should have cost $7-$8 range. Our server was well meaning, but seemed to make a lot of trips back and forth because she would forget stuff. Nice enough, stopped by to check on a reasonable schedule. She was friendly and thought the boys were adorable. All in all, the food is the big failing of this place. It is overpriced and not worth the money. Unlikely we will be back, I lost major husband points for picking this place. I like playing pinball with my kids, and I am happy to report that we suffered no GI distress, I believe the food to be safe, but just not worth the money.

We needed a place to eat on the way to Tillamook cheese factory so we stopped here on a whim. It's small inside and very dark. It's more of a sports bar-type of place. Our waitress was super sweet and friendly. The food took a while to come out but there was a big party of about 10 waiting to be served as well. The food was okay, the burgers were pretty tasty but didn't have pink in the middle like we asked. The sweet potato fries were a little soggy. I will say that the portions were huge :). Great place to eat for lunch, and easy to find.

Top 5 burgers of my life... just what the doctor ordered (I am calling myself the doctor tonight) Great customer service on a Saturday night on the oregon coast. I am here to fish... but next time I am through I will stop for another awesome burger... Samuel Jackson would be proud of this tasty burger. Great value, good libations, and good music.

When we first walked in, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a bit dark and slightly on the dingy side. Don't let these first instincts deceive you. Our server was very attentive to our needs. She provided us with excellent service and always made sure we had everything we needed. She even came back twice to give us a small sample of beers for us to taste and choose which ones we liked the best. I ordered the famous broasted chicken and it was delicious. Flavorful and moist on the inside. The salad had some room for improvement. While the raspberry vinaigrette was quite tasty, the some pieces of lettuce was cut really tiny while other bites there were huge chunks. There were slivers of carrots and yellow peppers in it that felt like they came from a bag. Still tasted good, but would have preferred something more fresh We also ordered the special-pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side of garlic bread. HUGE portion of pork was perfectly cooked and gravy was delicious. All in all a very satisfying meal and friendly service. Would definitely come back here again. They also offer features and specials every night. Looks like we need to come back and try their $1 tacos sometime.

My husband and I stopped to have dinner on Tuesday night. We ordered a cup of chowder, the fish'n' chips and the mushroom burger. The service was pretty good and the chowder was the best I've had in years. The mushroom burger was cooked to order and was topped very fresh ingredients, it also came with a generous portion of fries. My husband's fish 'n' chips was also very tasty, all though the fish portions were very small and really not worth the $10+ price tag.

We actually did not eat here because when we walked in the door it was filthy, we were told to sit where we wanted but the tables weren't cleaned after other customers had left. It had a funky smell too. Between the dirty place and the dirty smell we got scared about what the kitchen may be like and left for a cleaner place, which we found at Pacific seafood in Bay City.

What a wonderful restaurant at the Oregon Coast! We frequent Garibaldi, OR when we go to the coast to see family and friends. We had our first trip, this summer over the 4th weekend. We needed a child friendly restaurant where we could sit and have a micro brew and some good food! What a great experience we had, the food was excellent, we had garlic fried mushrooms and onion ring appetizers and the pork tenderloin sandwich, which is a NEW menu item. The tenderloin was very moist and tender, a must have! My kids loved the clam chowder and the burgers! The service was excellent, we never even had to ask to have our glasses filled! The portions were very generous, I need to go back and make room for desert. Great selection of local micro brews. We will definitely go back!

We were driving through and we were going to eat at the local fast food place, but boy are we glad we came here. For just a few dollars more per person, I was able to feed my wife and kids a delicious meal that tasted home made. You gotta try their Pork Tenderloin sandwich!!!! It is the biggest and juiciest one I've ever had! It was at least 1/2 foot across, no joke. I had trouble finishing it and I am not a light eater. My wife and kids had the spaghetti and said it was great! This place does NOT serve your typical bar food, it tasted like a home cooked meal. Nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms and friendly service. The owners told us they just bought the place and had opened it up to kids and that they had added new items to the menu. I love this place!!!! You will not be disappointed. This is the place to stop if you're traveling through Garibaldi.

My daughter's and I stopped for lunch. We were a little worried when we walked in and found only 1 other customer. Ordered seafood sampler, clam chowder, amd onion rings. Sampler had delicious cod, clam strips, shrimp and fries. Cod and clam strips exceeded our expectations! Clam chowder was good also. Walked out totally satisfied! Service was good also!

I have never been treated so poorly! The banner on the outside says families welcome until 9. Well, we got there at 6:45. Plenty of time, one would think. It took 30 minutes to get out drinks ordered. Then another 30 minutes to get our food ordered. So were already an hour into it. they started reminding us the kids had to out by 9 at 8:15, when they hadn't even brought our food yet! Finally, we get our food after a 45 minute wait. Then, at 8:25, we get another reminder that the kids need to be out by 9, and then again at 8:40. At 8:50, a gal comes over and starts yelling at us, as my husband is walking out the door with the kids. The kids are in the act of leaving and she's still yelling at us! They still haven't gotten us our bill, and the kids are now out the door. Yet, she continues to yell at me about how the kids need to leave. I'm telling her the kids are gone, but I need to pay my bill. More yelling about the kids needing to be gone. But there's no more kids. And more yelling? Really? All I'm thinking is, "Just let me pay my bill and we will never bother you again!" Worst dinner ever. Do not take your kids there. They aren't actually welcome. And they're slow and have very poor customer service skills.

New owners along with their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the items they serve and of the sites in the area to view! Food was excellent and their broasted tenderloin and broasted chicken was the best.... along with their $1.00 tacos every Monday and Thursday nights! Definitely will return!
