The Good: These Guys have some Serious BBQ! The Better of the two restaurants in Dundee for Sure. We drove by and got a sample of the ribs, tri-tip and pulled pork. The food was awesome. The Sides were all excellent, the slaw specifically was great. The Bad: The Wait was LONG. It must have been 20 min from order to food. This is partly because it was busy when the family stopped by, but also because it is a roadside stand with a limited kitchen. This is one of those places to call ahead for sure. The Ugly: They have Delivery as a service listed on their website. The Site says, " We are excited to announce that we are offering delivery to Dundee and Newberg. There is a minimum order for Dundee of $10 and a $2 delivery fee; and a minimum order for Newberg of $20 and a $3 delivery fee." As someone who lives in the Newberg area this is great, because one could avoid the wait, and not have to leave the house... Except that when calling for a delivery I was told that they weren't doing it. I don't know if it was the time, or if it was that they don't offer it anymore, but either way, don't list something on your site you don't do.

Bert's was a good as it gets. We picked up a half rack of ribs and some brisket and cole slaw this evening for dinner. It was great! We made quite the mess with the ribs, enjoying them to the full! Bert's is now on my list for go-to spots.

This is the best BBQ you will get from a food cart. Very reasonable prices, very good portions. The is the sweet southern style BBQ everyone knows and loves. Brisket that falls apart, in the good way, fully smoked. Pork ribs that are large, sweet, and very meaty. Tots with a perfect mildly spicy seasoning and a BBQ fry sauce that is excellent to dip them in. Great pulled pork as well, buy a pound of pork, and pound of brisket, and a side of tots with the fry sauce and you and your family will be happy campers.

I met Bert and ordered a half slab of ribs with a side of potato salad. Bert is a big, gregarious fellow and really nice. He has cool plans for his business and does a great job with the food I tried. Love the small guy businesses. Good luck!

Dundee is quite a drive from Hillsboro- but when a friend asks you to accompany her to a chuck wagon so that her new beau can do a food challenge, how could you say no? I myself ordered the rib meal with waffle fries and coleslaw. The ribs were falling off the bone and full of smoky goodness. I would say that they didn't even need the sauce, but the sauce was also so tasty I would drink it in a wine glass. The waffle fries were waffle fries- which is (of course) the best of all the fries, so they were pretty good. The coleslaw? Holy crap, is that pineapple? Not to stereotype, but I didn't imagine a chuckwagon out in the sticks to serve anything but plain old coleslaw. I probably wouldn't have been shocked if it was from Safeway. But no, homemade and quirky! I loved it. This brings me to Bert. This is a stand-up guy. We were among his last customers, so he just BSed with us the entire time. He's done the whole culinary school, working in nice restaurants thing... and decided to do what he is passionate about. Gotta love it. Which reminds me... my friend's boyfriend did NOT finish the challenge. The bonus of that is that we were able to sample the pulled pork and beans as well (holy yum). Also, leftovers. Not too shabs. I really wanted a t-shirt. I may go back for one. If you're out in the sticks, I highly recommend stopping at this tiny place (and eating ribs). The only thing that could make it better? Serving beer.

There's a new boss (hog) in town. We'll they're not new but the location in the parking lot behind Walgreens is north of their old location. They're difficult to see heading northbound on 99W. Heading southbound on 99W, you might see a sign for $1.50 hotdogs...that's Bert's. But instead of the hot dog, try the pulled pork sandwich, beans, and WAFFLE fries! This guy knows his BBQ! Everything was delicious and the owner and his daughter are friendly. I called ahead letting them know I was going to be there in 10 minutes. They had my to-go box ready. I can't wait to try their ribs...stay tuned!

We've been going to Bert's since he first opened his little cart in Lafayette and have followed him to his current venue. We love Bert's! Always a juicy/messy burger. Pulled pork smoked just right without the fat. Yummy dill potato salad. Seasoned fries and tots that have a great crunch. I've had the tri-tip once and again, smoked just right and not fatty. I highly recommend this place!

A-OK for sure, i love food trucks and i love BBQ, and this place is both of those things. Nothing was over the top, the prices are fair and the portions are ample. Seating is adjacent and on a road trip you can't beat the quick, filling, meal. I wish i could have tryed more and when i do i will update accordingly

Amaaaazing! I'm so thrilled to have moved a mile down the street from this place; even so, it's worth the drive if you're coming from out of town. Best baked beans ever, and the pulled pork sandwich definitely rivaled anything I've had before (and I lived in Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia for a time!) Nice guy, delicious food, supporting small business: I'm a fan.

The BBQ from Bert's is righteous. Brisket is tender, pulled pork smokey and delicious. They do seem to run out of food pretty early in the day so come here early if you are trying to get yourself some ribs. For sides, the bacon Mac & cheese is awesome. The coleslaw is a bit vinegary for my taste but others I know seem to like it that way. Berts is a solid stop, just be aware that they later in the day you get here the less options you'll have to order.

So I can't speak to the quality of food since we decided that this place was not worthy to receive our hard earned cash. We were traveling through to the coast when we decided to stop by. There were 4 of us and we wanted to do the family meal which was just enough food for us. They said the couldn't sell that to us because it was only on the dinner menu. So quickly adding the cost it was going to be 30 percent more. Not that it was going to be a deal breaker we decided to stay. As we continued trying to order we were informed they did not have any cold drinks available. The young woman working there was border line hostile and clearly not interested in making this small food truck any money. If the owner reads this there are too many places to spend my hard earned money then your establishment.

Stopped here on a Sunday shortly after they opened. The food was not ready. Tried to order beans and was told it would be 15-20 minutes..then we ordered ribs and was told they would not be ready for a few hours. The tables were filthy and drinks were sitting in a cooler with no ice and filled with water. Not sure if this is an off day or where the positive reviews came from. Very disappointed.

Great BBQ for a great price. Stopped on a Saturday afternoon, and chatted for a while. Nice to get to know the people making your food! Love the BBQ sauce, the meat was smoky and tender. I'm not a big foodie, but what a find. The Brisket was amazing. So soft and melted in my mouth. The one meat combo for $10 was such a deal, I couldn't finish all of my food. The baked beans were like nothing I have ever had, so delicious. Definitely will make the trip back. This place was better than The two we visited in Austin.

Just finished up my last two ribs today! Went on Fathers Day and really enjoyed the experience. The ribs were my favorite, smoky and lightly glazed with a perfect (mild) sauce. the brisket was good, but our serving was very fatty (I know that brisket is suppose to be, but my portion was more than 50% fat). The flavor was GREAT (my husband didn't love it, he prefers a dry (no sauce brisket) and this one was "sauced". The pork was good, especially when I added the housemaid sauce. We had beans, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. Beans were great, mac and cheese was very very good and I could take or leave the coleslaw. The slaw was interesting in that it was a pineapple slaw, and again it was fine, but not particularly memorable. They are moving to Newberg and I will certainly eat there again.

This is a great food cart. Their Burgers are really good with fresh produce, excellent seasoning and crisp bacon. They use a special house sauce on the burgers that really gives it the extra flavor generally found in expensive gourmet burger restaurants. The tots are seasoned with a mild to spicy seasoning that takes the ordinary to a much better level. Their other meats, especially the pulled pork, is excellent as well. Bert seems to know his stuff and we really appreciate the quality of food in this small town of Dundee.

My wife and I make frequent trips on Hwy 99w through Dundee, OR to go to Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde, OR. Each time I passed by Bert's Chuck Wagon for the past year thinking, "I bet they're good." There was always people eating or ordering when we passed by. If you have ever driven through Dundee, OR then you know that turning off the main road (99w) is either tricky or hard to get back on it. Last night on our return from donating at Spirit Mountain, we had our shot... No cars in back of us. We were hungry and suckers for great, not just good BBQ. I said one word to my wife, "RIBS?". She said back to me, "Ribs, oh yeah!". Finally I get to try Bert's. it was late evening, a couple of hours or so before they closed, it was raining and cold. Didn't matter... RIBS. We parked and walked up to check out the menu board. SCORE! - real BBQ meals, meats, burgers and sides. Did some price checking and everything was reasonably priced and clear to understand the sizes and portions. When we gave the facial cues that we were ready to order, the guy at the window was at the ready. But, uh oh.... A small problem.. He was starting to tell us what he was out of... This is technically a good sign of good BBQ. I have been to a ton of places in the country, some seen on TV... And have been there when places run out. You can't rush BBQ and thus sometime miss out. Well he says they are out of pulled pork... 'Don't, be out of ribs. Don't be out of ribs.' I was saying in my head. So, I jumped the gun, "What about the ribs?" He said that they had a half a rack or so... Not the end of the world. I get my ribs. We ordered all the ribs they had left, a pound of beef brisket, a large side of coleslaw, a large side of beans and a small side of macaroni salad. Hey, I said we were hungry... jeesh. It was about 12-15 minutes until order was done. They told us to go ahead and wait in the car and they'd bring it out to us. That was mighty nice and considerate of them. They brought us the food and even went back to the shack to get us a punch card to start. We rushed home to get started. The ribs were good sized, the smokiness was perfect. They were tender were one expects tenderness and that fun chewiness one likes to have on some parts of a sparerib. The sauce is a sweet sauce, my favorite. Not a vinegar based mockup with just brown sugar. It had sticky gooeyness that made for a well saturated, coated and completely cleaned off the bone rib. The brisket was great... Even had little pieces of burnt ends in it... 'Meat Candy!' The sides were awesome also. The coleslaw is a semi dry, semi wet slaw with a few little bits of pineapple in it. A little sweet tone to it but not sugary sweet with a good fresh crunch. The BBQ beans were good and thick, sweet, smokey and not drippy wet. Mac salad was good also. The true test was hand washing. To start off with my fingers were loaded with sauce, a good side effect of great BBQ. It took two casual hand washings and then a third 'CDC-style' hand washing to get the last remnants of the meal washed off. I declared several times to my wife that these were the best ribs I have ever had to the point where she had to stop me. Well, they are the best ribs I have ever had. I have been to 'Famous Chain's', and other authentic BBQ places, but Bert's Chuck Wagon is the real deal. We will be back and if not with my wife, I will sneak over the hill to eat lunch alone. UPDATE (Friday 1/25/13): I type this with guilt, but for the first time ever... We went back to the same place the day after. My review above still stands. Good news is that the ribs are CONSISTENTLY good. However we will need a third and fourth visit to truly judge it.
