Such a great hole in the wall place. The food was piping hot and everything was great. The staff is very friendly. The coleslaw is to die for (if you like horseradish). The bathrooms are clean, which is more than you can say for a lot of places.
The place is great. Great atmosphere, great food, great staff!! Steaks, burgers and broasted chicken. BTW: read the not recommended reviews, they really say a whole more.
I am still alive after this experience but I didn't park near the door nor tell anyone I was from socal. Nice people average food but if your crazy relative lives in drain this is the joint for a beer especially if you need witnesses for an alibi.

There are few choices out here in the woods, but Mexican food is one of my favs. I ordered the arroz con pollo. She had a vege tostada. We shared a sampler appetizer. The sampler was good! Unfortunately it arrived with the entrees. Tostada taco nachos.... Great. Would get that and beer next time. Arroz con pollo, white chicken sticks, no rice crust but a passable casserole with fresh mushrooms... No peas or those baby peppers.... Passable? Not a family treasure. But they said their mole dish was sweet, otherwise I would have tried it. Vege tostada was refried and rice... Fresh lettuce anyway. It was pinto paradise for Carol. I m a black bean guy. It felt like it was closing at 8 although hrs said 9. The food truck in Sutherlin is still worth the drive.
La Piñata serves the very best authentic Mexican food. As well as American cuisine. Great place for lunch or dinner when traveling the "coastal route*. Sandy, your hostess is a one of a kind, die hard Atlanta Braves fan and has a fabulous collection of memorabilia. We time our departures between Brookings & Portland to eat, stretch, browse. I try something different every time. Two large screen TV's always on the MLB NETWORK or NFL network. Seasonally. Great food in a relaxed family atmosphere. See you there.
Great local place. Fresh food, fast friendly service. Good sized portions and prices. We'll come back next time we are passing through. We split a combo and are stuffed. The chicken enchiladas were excellent. We got a chocolate peanut butter pie to go, but "had" to try a"bite" for the review... That pie almost didn't make it out of there. It has some kinda light whipped cream cheese voodoo that revives an appetite and makes you stuff more money in the tip. Then we smelled the fajitas coming out to the table next to us and had to flee temptAtion.
