Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

I was told to stop here by a local on my way to the John Day fossil beds. I'm really glad I listened! Friendly attentive service with a homey feel made the locally sourced burger taste even better! Finished off with a slice of strawberry pie and went on my way more than satisfied. If you're passing through Dayville the time to enjoy this cafe, you won't be disappointed.

Wished we'd made it in time for breakfast, missed it by 15 minutes:(, but what we ended up getting was quite delish! I had a Reuben, which could have been a little less greasy, but full of yummy corned beef! Husband had some kind of crazy burger and our son had the corn dog kids meal, which includes a drink and ice cream! We were fueled up for our day of adventure at the Sheep Rock unit of the John Day Fossil Beds, just down the road. It's the only restaurant for miles, so make sure you don't show up on a Monday or Tuesday:) Only three stars because I had actually called them and asked what days they were open and was told they were open every day. So, we show up on Tuesday, starving, and had to drive 20 miles back to John Day to eat and do that part of our trip the next day. (This was before the hours and days were listed here on Yelp.)

I think this is the best food for many (100?) miles around, with friendly service and very reasonable prices. We came for an early lunch and were both delighted with what we ordered: I had soup and salad with the daily special chorizo and lentil soup, which was delicious, and a garden salad which was fresh and huge. Added a side of potato salad which was also great but the soup and salad would have been enough! My husband had a chicken sandwich and fries, the fries especially were hand cute and delicious. Everything was home made and yet still menu prices were inexpensive. Very impressed!

We have been wanting to stop here forever and either don't have time or it's closed. So happy that we finally got to stop here. The food was very very good. My husband demolished his burger and my taco salad was delish! I wasn't even hungry and I ate most of it. The ground beef is local and you can tell, VERY good. I highly recommend this place!

Stopped here after visiting the John Day Fossil Bed park locations. Dining partner and I both had rib eye steak dinners - one with baked potato and one with mashed potato. Baked potato was tasty and the mashed potato was very good, and not instant. The dinner salad was a pleasant surprise because it was 103 degrees outside, but the salad was fresh and crisp. Dining partner and I both agree these were some of the best (maybe the best?) tasting steaks we've ever eaten. We both ordered the steaks medium rare. Dining partner's steak was medium rare, mine was closer to just medium. Other reviewers mention the quality or local sourcing of the beef, and we can confirm there was something notably flavorful about this beef. Marionberry pie was a fantastic closer for this meal. I'd eat here again if I'm ever in the area.

The first time we visited we were on our way home from Idaho and stopped in for Dinner. Not only is the Cafe adorable and clean, the service is fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming. The menu is varied, the meat is local, hormone free, the salads are fresh and the desserts are unbeleivable! Not a big meat eater, I have tried the veggie sandwich and the taco salad. Both are wonderful, and Chef Greg even made my taco salad without meat and added extra black beans........Very good!!! Hard to decide if breakfast or dinner is my favorite. Outside seating is nice, and the atmosphere is always fun! Definately worth a visit!

Thanks to Yelp, once again, for finding me the best place to eat for miles around. If not for the good reviews on this place, I would have stopped at some dusty dive an hour ago The Dayville Cafe is a very pleasant place with about 10 tables, four of which are on the shady front porch facing north. The cheerful decor includes flower baskets hanging from the eaves. My lunch included a good BLT, outstanding potato salad, and delicious blackberry cobbler ala mode. The single unisex rest room is clean.

My husband and I have been RVing in Dayville for 5 days photographing Painted Hills, Blue Basin and such ... and have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner (2x) at the Dayville Cafe in this wonderfully friendly, quaint town of 150 ppl. The owner/chef Greg, his wife Deanne, servers Tiffany & Renee are all super, and the food was delicious with abundant portions. All together we had 8 meals, all quality ingredients, using some local rancher meats. Save room for the homemade pie choices, bursting with an array of fillings and the perfect flaky crust, prepared by Greg's Mom I believe. Yumm.

If you are checking out the john day fossil beds, and museum, as we were, do yourself a favor and plan on eating here. Definitely worth the trip, homemade pie, and painted hills all natural, hormone free beef! From the Thomas Condon museum it's only like 15 min away. I had a bacon and blue cheese salad that was loaded w avacodo as well as chicken, great portion size and nice plate presentation, my girlfriend had a painted hills ribeye w masher! The waitress packed us some pie to go for later, homemade and delicious. Will make a point to tell others about this spot.

Few things in life are better than finding an outstanding burger and milkshake after a few days backpacking. Options are limited in Dayville, but as we pulled up at Dayville Cafe I knew it would be a good stop. We immediately ordered a few milkshakes, I got a strawberry, it came with a normal glass plus one of those metal containers nearly full. They had quite a list of burger to choose from, but I went with the Stage Coach. It was outstanding. They use local grass fed (grain finished) beef from Painted Hills, which happens to be one of my favorite. Their fries are house cut and tasted great. Service was great, it's a very friendly family running the place. If you're driving by it's worth the stop!
