Don't judge a book by its cover... This restaurant is gorgeous inside. Clean, dark hardwood, gray walls with pops of lime green and galvanized barn lights above each table/booth. Historic black and white canvas photos of Creswell adorn the walls. Well done! Food was very good. My husband ordered a Cobb salad. Lettuce was fresh and the toppings plentiful. He probably would have enjoyed a burger more but was trying to eat light. I ordered the TJ's Scramble. It was served piping hot. The spinach was fresh! It was topped with gorgeous fresh avocado. We will definitely eat here again when we are traveling. The only negatives would be: The loud music (The Doors played on and on). And the outdated exterior. (Their signage and building trim scream early 70s late 60s.) Stop and eat here you'll be pleasantly surprised.

We stopped by here with the family after a long day and needing a nice meal. While this place is just off the freeway, it's kind of tucked away behind a building as you come off the ramp. It appears to me to be a locals type of joint. front half is a diner and the back is a bar. From advertising, it's the local place to hang out and watch various sporting events. For the most part, it's a decent place to have a meal. Service we got was excellent. Some patrons were greeted by name. Fries are coated and crispy delicious. Had a corn chowder soup at it was ok, but had some herb in it that I didn't particularly like. Mac and cheese is home made and you can tell that by the texture of the cheese as you eat it. Came with a lot of broccoli on top, too much in my opinion. Had a hot turkey sandwich. It was ok, with deli thin sliced turkey on it. Real mashed potato as the side. Chicken parma Panini was tasty, but slightly greasy. the marinara sauce was very tasty, however if I had eaten the whole thing, heartburn galore, but it was tasty. Overall, a decent place to stop by.

Every time we go there and there Is big game on like the UofO game today they NEVER have extra help one poor waitress running her ass off. We sat there 15 minutes and never got served so we got up and left. As we were getting up she then came over but we told her we were leaving. This is the 3rd time this has happened. Basically they are always short handed in the bar area. Sad. They have a gold mine there but continue us to under serve the local community.

Was out of town on business. Stayed at the motel next store. Went their for dinner and breakfast . Food was great, service friendly, and very modern inside. Outside does it no favors. Walk in and be surprised.

You wouldn't expect much from a diner in tiny Creswell, Oregon but TJ's is quickly becoming a favorite. They have excellent service and are attentive to our often empty drink glasses. Their wraps and paninis are surprisingly good and they have good prices. Best restaurant in Creswell!

Took my daughter here for breakfast and we both ordered the breakfast skillet with sausage. It was delicious and there was plenty. The service was great and my coffee cup was never empty. Have been here several times and cannot find a complaint. I will definitely be back!

Excellent experience. Small time Diner look and feel. Sports on several tv's. One page menu with a nice variety. I had chicken breast with pepper jack cheese, delicious green beans and (choice of potatoes) I got fries. The fries are lightly breaded giving them a nice crunch without being "crunchy fries" and delicious. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked. I didn't have to spend most of my eating time chewing it. Very tender. Overall a wonderful experience with my parents, sister, her husband and 18 month old. I definitely recommend.

Slightly disappointed by the lack of good food experiences on my hurried trip through Oregon, I was not expecting much when we stopped here. I was happily mistaken! The food was delicious. I had their BLT Panini with fries and it was great. The service was nice and our waitress, a blonde lady, was friendly. I'll definitely be back if I ever find myself in the area again.

Stopped for breakfast on our way South. My coffee cup never was less than half full, eggs Benedict was cooked perfect, and service was great. Decided to try lunch on our way back home and had a great experience again. Love the decor, selection of food and drinks, as well as the convenience from the freeway.

Overall it is a great place to hang out. The drinks are really good. Never ate there though. Bartenders are cool and make sure to get to you as soon as possibe.

TJ's is a local Creswell hangout. While visiting a friend who lives in town this was our first stop on a night of bar hopping. The place was pretty dead on a Friday night and the crowd that was there were mostly of the older variety. It was odd to me with that crowd that they were playing mostly Top 40 (is that still a thing?) music. Sue and I ended up putting some money in the machine and got some good old rock on the box. Jethro Tull seemed to brighten the day of one guy there. Good times.

Great stop right off I-5. Plenty of parking for our 5th wheel. Fantastic fries. The coleslaw was excellent. Husband's Cobb salad was perfect and our burger and pannini yummy. Service was wonderful, friendly and fast!

Well the outside hides the inside. Great place and here's why. Service check. Clean restroom check. Good food check. Friendly staff check. Bar specials check. Bartender service check. Checked with me before taking a quick break, nice! Prices were very reasonable. This is not anything super special, they just do what they do well. Overall good experience. Thanks!

Dinner: fish tacos served without lemon wedges and when I asked for some I got lemon slices delivered on a napkin. The fries are delicious and once the tacos had a bit of lemon they were okay. Love the decor. Very clean. Service was sparatic but friendly.

We had a bad experience a couple months ago. The manager called and expressed his concern and asked us to try one more time. We want last night...had great food and great service. Thank you to the crew there and will be looking forward to returning again.

For a right off the freeway diner, this place is great. I live in cottage grove, and usually drive the 10 miles to come here for breakfast on Sunday's because all the good breakfast in CG is closed on Sunday and it's always worth the drive over "the vintage" and "the coffee cup". The lounge is really clean and open, high ceilings, modern. Not a big sports fan here but if you are, it's perfect, a huge TV every 5 feet. Service is always fast and friendly. My favorite thing in the breakfast is the chicken fried steak omelette... Perfectly cooked eggs filled with cheese and chicken fried steak and covered with gravy. Yum. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced.

Late and road weary we needed a place to eat...although the place had a 3* rating we had heard good things about the place from the Comfort Inns front desk person. We got here a half hour before closing and were greeted by a very kind and humorous young man who assured us we were on time for dinner. Our server, Debrah, was SUPER sweet and friendly. Our food was fresh and delicious. They serve steaks that are grass fed beef and it showed in the presentation and flavor. I would not hesitate to swing in this spot on your way through, and if I lived in the area, I would be a "regular!" Happy travels folks! :)

The remodel is very nice. The food and service is great and they have a nice selection of beer. Love all the tv's. You can watch just about any game from any sport and this is the best place to watch Ducks games!!

Absolutely love this place since they have re-opened after the fire. The remodel is lovely and the new menu is really good. Food has been great everytime I have gone there and the staff is so friendly and always have smiles on their faces. I eat here at least twice a week when I am in town. Definitely worth giving this little home town restaurant a try!

A surprise find! The outside of the building is unassuming but the inside is newly remodeled and upscale. They can easily accommodate small and larger parties depending on how busy they are. The menu had lots of variety and good ol'home cooked choices like pot roast and meatloaf. Their sand which menu looked great too we had prime rib and the pot roast. My son had fries with his meal and they were tasty! Didn't actually go into the bar they had here but it looked spacious. Service is quick, attentive and efficient.

This place is a total waste of time, but many travelers will visit here on their way to Portland after buying gas nearby at the local ARCO station. Warning: the sleazy waitresses will up sell you anything for a tip. The chicken fried stead tastes like cardboard with gravy. The breakfast all day long should be called barf all day long! I warned you!

I've been here four times since September '14. First time for breakfast and food , service excellent. Came back three more times and ate at the sports bar in the back. On my second visit I walked up to the door I was met by the cook and dishwasher smoking a bowl of marijuana getting stoned. Wasn't surprised my food order was messed up. On my third visit I was again in the sports bar and found the wait staff stoned and wreaking of marijuana, again. I should have called it quits, but I gave them yet another try a few weeks later. On my fourth visit at the sports bar my server again wreaked of marijuana, order in correct, drinks were watered down, but still full price and the servers didn't seem to care and the food was marginal. Needless to say there won't be a fifth visit.

Was on my way to Eugene and stopped here for breakfast. I opted for the chicken fried steak eggs hashbrowns and pancakes. The food was not to bad, the service was good. My only real complaint is that the chicken fried steak was tiny. Not much bigger then a McChicken sandwich piece in size. I think I would go back just maybe get the other food here not the CFS.

I was getting gas at the station right next to this place and was feeling a little hungry, so I said, let's check it out. Right off I-5. Stepped inside, nice and clean and friendly service. Reminded me of a Denny's-type of place, which is a compliment. Denny's has some pretty good chow, IMO. Anyhow, I order a California Omelette; egg whites and filled with avocado, tomatoes, salsa. Very good. Came with hash browns. Even had a ball game on the tube on this Saturday morning. It was quiet and a lot of locals looked like they were just enjoying their meals. My kind of place. I liked this place and if I find myself traveling along this highway again, I may just stop by again.

Please read the whole post! We pulled off for the night, went to TJ'S to eat, the restaurant staff the food the atmosphere was fantastic. we've been driving this road for 30yr's should've stopped sooner. We got done with our dinner thought we'd try the lounge........that was a mistake unless you want your ears blown out by the Juke box, it was so loud it made our ears hurt, tried playing the slots it was so noisy we had to leave and I was wining on the slots. I'm sorry but it was way to noisy! We even asked the young lady tending the bar if she could turn ti down I think she actually turned it up and there weren't that many people in the lounge. It's to bad it's actually a very nice place!

Pretty good! I had eggs, home fries & toast. The eggs came out over-medium - just like I ordered. Home fries were terrific & the toast nicely toasted - perfect!! Wait staff was very friendly & the place was nicely decorated & clean! I'll be back!!

Breakfast at dinner time. My favorite meal! The eggs, ham, hash browns and toast was about the best I've had in months and months. Outstanding food and GREAT SERVICE from Deb. I'm going home happy.

I have tried this place twice and that was twice too many. But to be fair the initial visit was only to their bar. The food is not that great and the price for it seems a little high in relation to the location. I must applaud TJ's for employing deaf waitresses. I thought that it would be a difficult job to undertake without the use of hearing....and I was right. Trying to get the attention of a server may require strobe lights or a blanket and fire to make smoke signals. Food is not great, it is not even good, it is barely palatable. But the entertaining aspect is that you can battle the flies as to who wants to eat it. I was there in early March when there were no flies anywhere else, except TJ's. They are unrelenting meal guests and will fight you wing and feeler for your food but it is fairly funny to watch flies fight so hard for food then refuse to eat it. That was our cue to leave, post haste and make for any where else but there.

We have been here alot and the food is good but it is no 5 star place that for sure. It is just good old down home food and never had a bad meal out of here. Now I would give it try if I was you. Be carful sometimes you get great service and some times you get well........

Clam chowder just ok. Ribeye steak special was thin but cooked just right (medium) and very good. Oddly, there were lots of cars in the parking lot but few people inside. Turns out, most were at the patio watching the Ducks game. Inside the restaurant were TVs everywhere with almost every seat having a view.

Contrary to the negative reviews I saw on Yelp, there were very good reviews on Google. And we liked it a lot. We were greeted by a happy, friendly waitress. The restaurant was clean. The menu had typical diner fair and then some other signature items. There were 4 of us. We ordered pot roast, chili burger, chicken fried steak and the southwestern chicken pasta. All were well made and delicious. We also had the peach pie and the blackberry pie. OMG, the pies were awesome! All in all we had a great, comfortable, delicious dinner and if we come back thru this little town again we will definitely eat here again.
