Mohawk Restaurant - American Kitsch Diner This is a biscuits and gravy / meatloaf roadside diner. The food is stock and remarkable in the same way a white line tracks straight down the middle of a road for miles without wavering. If you are a picky eater and want basic food, this place has your ticket. At the same time if you want to enjoy hardcore Americana and true rural diner food, then this is also your place. For all the people from Asia that tour through Crater Lake, they would probably happily take the extra time to eat here if they knew about it as if you are looking for an American experience, this is it. Though food is only a small part of what is going on. The REAL claim to fame and treat (or horror for some people...) of this place is the micro-zoo of taxidermy that populates the dining room. Bears, lots and lots of deer, a timber wolf pelt, badger, and just about anything that can be hunted and killed within 100 miles has been mounted for your dining entertainment. And among all the animals is also a kitschy bottle collection of commemorative ceramic and glass bottles. If you ever wanted to have pancakes in the shadow of a pair of mounted bear cubs, then this is your place.

My wife and I had breakfast here. Everyone was very friendly. Service good, fast and appropriate. The food was good, average portions and reasonable prices. The atmosphere was one-of-a-kind! Words can't describe the taxidermy collection and liqueur bottles. Truly a museum plus restaurant. We would eat here again.

Doesn't look like much from the outside and the taxidermy and liquor bottle collection inside might scare you off but don't let it. The cook does American food in solid fashion. The burgers are better than Stanich's in Portland, OR and the Club House sandwich is enormous and tasty. And the Fries are better than Little Big Burger. Can't wait until I swing by this hole in the wall again.

We were on our way back from Bend yesterday and were looking for something besides fast food to try. We stumbled upon this funky diner and decided to give it a shot. First off , the waitress was super friendly and made us feel welcome . The decor is something my friends from LA might run from since it consists of too many taxidermy animals to count plus a very cool bottle collection . It's not everyday you have a meat loaf special with a stuffed two headed pig looking at you but it adds to the experience:) The food was tasty and filled is up on a cold afternoon . Coffee was fresh and good as well . Stop in if you're on the 97 near Crescent, Oregon.

Insanely tasty. A god send for the hungry traveler. The staff is sweet as pie and they actually have fresh baked pie. They have an extensive collection of vintage bottles and taxidermy. Their beer selection is awesome and their food is just plain drool worthy. Double yu-um!!!

This is a pretty interesting dive spot. Service is decent, all our orders were right, food is decent considering where this restaurant is. Crispy chicken wrap is what you'd expect, and fries are the wavy cut ones, not the best but that's just my preference. Dinner salad was tiny for $4 but still not the worst I've had. Very friendly staff and interesting atmosphere. Draft beer, 1 or 2 craft options, plenty of bottled options. Good stop along 97. 3 stars because to me it was average food and service, and the weird taxidermy doesn't necessarily make it outstanding, although it is interesting. Definitely some talking points among the slightly more strange stuffed animals, ie the 2 headed calf.

I will find my photos of The Mohawk's dining room and upload them. Each, truly a thousand words. I will never forget my first meal at The Mohawk. My dad drug our immediate family there. I was in my early 20's, likely hungover, and none too eager to be awakened and summoned to breakfast. I don't think I was fully awake until I was seated and then stunned because above me, all around, were creatures of all types. Stuffed. Mounted. Frozen in time. The locals are also somewhat frozen in time, but that's another story. The food, well, I don't remember my first meal because I don't think I could eat it. But later I recall it being surprisingly OK. Diner stuff. There's a certain off kilter charm to the place and it's not a bad place to stop if you don't mind the haunting animals, so very many of them -- two-headed, endangered (not when originally taxidermied, of course), etc., bizarro displays of stuffed animals, some soaring overhead and some just quietly watching you like Mr. Bates' prized pets. It's definitely worth a stop if you're cruising Highway 97 (it's about an hour south of Bend). Just don't say I didn't warn you -- about both types of wildlife, the stuffed variety and the lively locals.

Happy to find this gem restaurant on our way from Crater Lake. The club was delicious and huge. Perfectly toasted bread and crisp bacon then stacked high. We got a slice of amazing homemade peanut butter pie to go. The service was very friendly and quick. I would be a regular if I lived closer to Mohawks. So thankful we stopped here for high quality traditional diner style food.

The waitress with tattoos all over her chest should have been my first clue that this place is a dive. It took her 20 minutes to bring us a beer. When I complained she was a total B. I left. The rest of my party stayed, but I was unwilling to pay money for any food that she would bring me... or my group. She should either find a new job or do something else for a living. I would give this place a zero star... but I have to give it at least 1.

Stopped here on our way to Crater Lake. The ambiance alone is worth the trip but the food was great. My husband thought it was the best meatloaf he had ever had.

Excellent service in this family owned and operated restaurant. Garden burger was delicious. My husbands burger was great. Salad was fresh and tomatoes were sweet. Ice tea freshly made. Strawberry milkshake was great. Will visit again next time through town. Interesting taxidermy display, too.
