Friendliness and comfort food go a long way in a very small town like Condon. In the 4 days I visited, I visited the Round Up twice because, yes, it's one of the only places to eat, but it's also extremely welcoming and has a great vibe. It's also open late, and by late, I mean open past 7 pm. The waitress (Mary Ellen, I believe) is the nicest and sweetest lady on the planet, and she goes out of her way to make sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. This place is full of locals that know one another, so it has a nice friendly atmosphere. My friend is brand new in town, yet, everyone there recognized him and chatted with him. I had pizza both times I visited, and it is not only tasty but very generous! A small is 12-inches, and you can easily share with someone or take home leftovers. First pie I had was the Hawaiian Cowboy, which had REAL bacon bits, hefty ham chunks, and pineapple. Nice flavor, thick crust, and plenty of cheese. The second pie I had was the meat lover's, and again, very generous toppings and great flavor. Also enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip (creamy and delicious) with toasted bread, and for dessert? THE MOST AMAZING PEANUT BUTTER PIE ON THE PLANET. Seriously, I had to stop myself from going back to get a slice to take with me on my way home to Seattle. It is sickeningly good. I will probably have dreams about it. Played some shuffleboard while sipping some Midori Sours and also enjoyed watching the Strongest Man on Earth competition on the big screen. Totally forgot about the pool table, so I will have to take advantage of that next time. I can't wait to come back next time I'm visiting my friend in Condon. I just hope they have that peanut butter pie again...
This is the only place to eat (besides the burger joint) and grab a cold beer or glass of wine. My husband and I had the pizza. It was good and the crust was crisp yet light. I believe they use a locally milled flour for the dough. Service was good as well.
Mason and Jason are always friendly, drink specials are tasty and the food is good. Service has never been slow and I love the small town family feel. Shuffleboard is a blast and watching the game on the big screen is a plus!
