Our son wanted to meet us here for lunch here. I had the Crazy horse bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was NOT dry and over cooked. My burger was juicy and full of flavor. They have shoe string fies and I love that they have fry sauce. They give us a bottle of fry sauce and ranch. My son had the chicken and fries called the strip & dip. They gave him a couple of dipping sauces for his chicken. He said that they make all of their own sauces. His chicken was tender and juicy. They have a nice outdoor seating on the patio .

Drive you and decided to stop by and check it out. I didn't see any home-made beer (I must have misunderstood 'tap house') but I tried a pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was unremarkable. It was better than Nookies in Hermiston, but cannot hold a candle to Wild Horse in Hood River. The meat, while tasty, had its texture ruined buy their sandwich process. I had to really focus on taste to get the pig. There was no char at all. The buns were too doughy and overwhelmed the less than adequate serving of meat. Then the sauce used masked the poke taste instead of complimenting it. I walked by a nearby Saturday fair that was happening in the square. Boss Hawgs food cart had pulled pork that looked 10 times better. I wish I hadn't just paid $17 for lunch. I should've skipped this place. There are better pork sandwiches out there. This one is good if you are hungry, but not worth the price.

Good and filling lunch. Obviously a local favorite. It was packed after 1:00 pm on a Tuesday. We stopped here on our road trip from Portland to Ashland. We won't need to get much of a dinner tonight. My brisket salad was delish, and my husbands happily ate every every bite of his brisket sandwich. Our friend had a mighty, mighty BLT.

Excellent little Brew House just off I-5 in Coburg, Oregon. Great wings and a good assortment of micro brews. Fast, friendly service!

Went with the GF yesterday and we shared some wings and she got the tri-tip sliders which are insanely tasty. I got the philly cheesesteak and for me it had too much cheese that the cheese overpowered the flavor of the meat. The wings were also REALLY good. The hot sauce has a kick but is really flavorful and the honey bourbon is also really good. The service is also really good. It is a little hole in the wall spot that puts out great grub. Please heed my advice and forego the french fries and treat yourself to their chips. My god they are good. We will definitely be back. I wish I could give 4.5 stars as the meat was good but it was overpowering on my philly. My GF's tri-tip sliders were bordering on orgasmic. If they are on special, please order these too and I hope these get added to the main menu.

Been here several times and decided it deserved a review finally. I have had several things on the menu and you can not go wrong with anything on the menu here. The service is great here. I usually get a burger and have them add a over medium egg on it. The buffalo salad is tasty here and the fries are great. I like how they have random specials every time I come here. This is so worth the drive out to Coburg.

Best burgers around hands down! Their wings are great too and the homemade BBQ sauce is to die for.

  • Colby M.

This is such a great pub to stop in for dinner. Good brews, better food, and fast service. Great bbq style food, but if I ate here on a regular basis I believe it would be the death of me!

Always on the quest for the best hamburger, this place was recommended by a couple different friends, but the burger was just okay. I always ask if the burger can be cooked with a little pink in it, but it came out cooked all the way through. The hamburger itself was rather bland and needed spiced up. The quest continues, so far the Eugene City Brewery aka, The Rogue Brewery serves up the best, it their Kobe beef burger.

OH MY HOLY FRIJOLES THIS PLACE IS DANK. I don't even know where to start. Bbq is DELICIOUS. Every time my parents come into town they want to eat here. The bbq in Eugene sucks but this place, even though its in coburg, is the best bbq around. Get the pork spare ribs I think there available Thursday or fridays but you gotta get them before theyre gone. They were like dinosaur ribs, so gigantic. And you get 2 sides of your choice with them so its a lot of food for only 12 bucks. The fried mac n cheese balls!!! I have dreams about these.Homemade mac n cheese with crispy coating and they're about the size of a softball. The burgers are Amazing and the wings are awesome with a lot of different sauces to choose from. And the beer! So many Oregon beers to choose from. Its a pretty small space so try to get there early. In the summer the back patio is awesome. Anyway bottom line: I'm starting to regret writing this review because now you will all know about this awesome little hole in the wall piece of heaven.

We were in town on business last week and drove by this place a couple of times, ate across the street, then decided to try it. Amazing! The smoking is done is a refurbished old refrigerator out in the back. The pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, brisket sandwich and fries...were excellent and the "coburger" is enormous! Going to Coburg antique hunting? Don't miss Chief's!

Food is great! Taco salad, burgers, wings, and chip fries are highly suggested.

Sometimes they run out of things because the food is fresh-the wait staff are great and it's got that funky bar vibe-it's a great place to feed your meat loving partner

This place has really great food that doesn't break the bank! I've had a number of things here and they have all been really good. Here is what I've had that I can really recommend: 1. The brisket sandwich. 2. The mac n' cheese side (it is deep-fried and amazing!) 3. breakfast. 4. their fries BTW, this 5 stars is being given mostly in relation to the other options in the Eugene/Coburg area. I would probably give it 4 in a more urban area that has lots of really good restaurant options.

  • Vince R.

The smoked dishes were better than most and the hamburger was very good as well. Service was fast. Three minutes off of I5 with trailer parking!

Unexpectedly good food in a small cafe in Coburg. We stop for lunch whenever we're in the neighborhood. Yummy juicy burgers, "chip fries" that are really homemade potato chips. Friendly staff, especially Laura. They even have a decent selection of local wines and beers. What's not to like?

    (5)
  • T B.

One of my coworkers had a double cheeseburger monster and chips from here last week and it looked pretty good. I had the Brisket sandwich to go with the chips and all I can say is, never again. First, you never ever cut brisket with the grain of the meat. I had a sandwich piled with meat strings. There was no smoke flavor at all - I swear this was cooked in an oven and not smoked. To top it all off, there were long strips of 3/4" thick fat from the brisket cap. Come on, at least trim SOME of it off. This sandwich was UGLY. They were very generous with the meat though. Of course I would have been trying to give it away too. Felt like I was robbed. The chips were very tasty though and so were the shoestring potatoes. I probably wont be back to Cheif's which is too bad since it's a mile from work. Looks like I should have just had a burger...

Great brisket, pulled pork, burgers. Best in Eugene and its in Coburg. I'm hooked.

Best burger in town, onion rings are AMAZING!!!! Give it a try!!!

    (5)
  • Timothy M.

All I can say is amazing! Best wings in town and best servers. Love the people and atmosphere......quaint and comfortable.

    (5)
  • Tonee W.

Employee's are friendly, so are the other customers! The food is worth driving from JC to Coburg for ~ the fries are good, but try the onion rings - oh yum!! My kid actually eats the whole thing every time ~ this is the ONLY burger place she has ever done that at. We sit and play "speed" while waiting for our food, it's fun & relaxed atmosphere is as great as the food.

We made our second trip to Chief's this past weekend and my husband and I both agree it was excellent! The first time, my husband had the Philly cheesesteak and really enjoyed it. He has been looking for a good philly cheesesteak since we moved to the EUG area 13 years ago and is always disappointed - until he tried Chief's! I had the fried cod and chips. I was surprised that chips actually meant homemade potato chips as usually fish and chips are french fries, but was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the chips! Our second trip my husband had the Prime Rib dinner and it was excellently cooked and delicious!! I even liked it and I don't really like Prime Rib! He had the chili as a side and it was very tasty! It wasn't spicy so he probably won't try it again, but it was very good (I might get it as a side next time)!! I had the beef brisket sandwich with french fries. I did ask for regular BBQ sauce as I don't really like spicey food. The french fries were nothing exciting - I probably won't order those again, but the sandwich was wonderful!! I cannot wait to go back to get that again, but I think I should try something else to see what else to recommend! I would definitely recommend trying Chief's if you haven't already!

  • Lisa L.

Amazing food! I would eat here all the time if I lived here! Ran into it by luck, Thank you Lucky Stars! Eat here!

  • Julie E.

We had prime rib dip and BLT. Both excellent just like the service! Great beer to!

    (5)
  • Susan H.

They may be known for their burgers, but their BLT was the best I've ever had and the chips were great. Here's hoping the timing of our return trip brings us back through here when it's mealtime again. Now I really want to try the burger!

  • Melissa S.

Love it here!!!!! Burgers are awesome and there are great micro brews available. Best Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich on the west coast. Wow wow wow... Highly recommend!!!!!

  • Ethan A.

I've been here twice now and I've been very pleased each time. The portions are large and very flavorful while also being reasonably priced. I was disappointed that you cannot get a dinner (small) sized cesar salad as I did not want an enormous salad and I did not want to pay $12 for an enormous salad. Really, how hard is it do split the salad in half and charge half the price? This was not great customer service, I cannot remember the last time I was at a restaurant ANYWHERE in the country, that was not willing to give me a smaller salad. This was about the only negative and I would still return. If they were a little more flexible and customer friendly I'd bump them to 5 stars.

Chiefs serves great burgers and provides a nice small-town atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are in the Coburg area.

I'm visiting from Austin Texas and have a high standard for BBQ. I had the brisket sandwich and it was awesome! Best meal I've had all week driving up and down the Oregon coast!!

  • M W.

It's been a while since I've given a 5 star review but this place deserves it! I had been wanting to try it for a while and my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go today. I'm so super happy we did! This was my favorite burger in all of Oregon. My goodness. When we walked in I saw a sign stating that their burgers will definitely have pink in them and "if you're afraid of red, order chicken instead" I thought to myself, yeah right, NO ONE cooks their burgers medium. Not even if you ask. And that's my biggest pet peeve with burgers....because if they're over cooked they're just ruined. This burger was perfect. It was SO good and juicy. Their fry sauce was perfect. Their fries were nice and hot/crispy. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich. Him being from Texas I was nervous because he has high standards. He thought it was great! Kept saying he would definitely come back. We also ordered wings to try them out and he said he loved them way more than Chicken Bonz, Mama Hot Wings, and anywhere else in Eugene/Springfield he's tried to get wings. Safe to say we'll keep coming back here!

  • Gary L.

Smoked brisket, in Coburg? Yeah, and not too shabby! A pretty mediocre display of beers and ciders on tap does not distract from the fun. Impressive Burgers, Salads, Sandwiches, Wings, etc. A very efficient and personable staff. A very eclectic clientele. Small, cozy, they have a great kids menu. The BBQ won't be giving Texas any sleepless nights, but pretty darn good. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

    (4)
  • Mikayla P.

So yummy. I got their burger of the month which was a guac burger and I was not disappointed! The fries were delicious, the staff were friendly. Cute little place. Great beer on tap too.

  • Kelly B.

My husband and I were on the road, returning from our vacation when we happened on this place. We got the pulled pork BBQ sandwich and it was AWESOME! I definitely want to make it a point to stop there again next time we are in that area. The meat was amazing, the potato salad was great, heck, even the iced tea was good!

    (5)
  • Amy B.

Their Geronimo and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are so good!! My boyfriend and I are always craving them! The only thing that we don't care for are their wings and fries. I don't like their fries because they taste like a dirty fryer to me. 4 stars for their tasty sandwiches and good service!

  • JANET L.

Most of the YELP reviews for this burger joint are stellar, but the bad reviews made me a bit hesitant to check them out. We decided to give it a try, and boy are we glad we did! I had the mushroom burger with cheddar and delicious sautéed mushrooms and hubby had the blue cheese special... both were fantastic! The burger was thick, juicy and flavorful with that fresh off the grill charbroiled taste. The bun was fresh and soft, and the shoestring fries as well as the sweet potato fries were tasty and hot out of the fryer. It is your basic burger joint with tables in the small dining area, bar area and outdoor patio in back. Service was prompt and friendly. Both burgers with soft drinks came to $24....a bit pricy, but absolutely worth it.

  • Don J.

Thank you Chief's. This IS the best place to stop for a burger & fries. Had the plain jane burger and it was Awesome Again! You don't need to order the super deluxe burger to get a killer feast. And the fries are always really good. They are so nice and friendly, their service is super. They know service IS what brings everything together. Time after time Chief's delivers.

    (5)
  • Stacey J.

Wings are the thing to get! Mix up the white buffalo with the hot....amazing. Good kids menu, the shoe string fries are yummy and they have a good selection of beer and ciders. Great little gem in coburg.

    (5)
  • Jon S.

It's a greasy spoon with slightly upscale cuisine. Burgers are okay, nothing special. Mine (buffalo burger) was clearly undercooked even taking the freshness of the meat into consideration. Given the mass of high reviews I was highly underwhelmed. Two stars for the food, one more for the polite service and decor.

  • Gretchen L.

This place is a hidden treasure. Check it out next time you are in the Eugene area.

    (5)
  • Tom O.

I had one of the best burgers in the Eugene area here. Try their little brave burger half pound double patty topped with BBQ Brisket and cheese. Side order of homemade chips or fries. Delicious. Washed it all down with s 26 oz mug of mirror pond.

  • Joe R.

Decided to give this place a shot the other night with my girlfriend because of all the good reviews. We must have missed something though because this place should be shut down. Don't get me wrong, I wanted it to be good. I even ordered two sandwiches so i could get a feel for the place. Man did I ever. Full on food poisoning from either the cheesesteak or the tri-tip sandwich. It was pretty gnarly. If I was going to review the rest of the my visit- the tri-tip sandwich was drowning in sauce to the point that's all you could taste, and the cheesesteak while it tasted good going down was tiny. It was actually served on what would be considered a large hotdog bun if you were to buy it in the store. So basically, I don't think either one was worth their $9 and $10 price tag's even if I didn't get sick as hell. My GF got a burger, and while she didn't have the same problem I did, she said it looked and tasted like a pre made frozen patty. Nothing special.

Found this place by accident on our drive back to the Bay Area from Portland. So worth the stop - amazing burgers!!!

    (5)
  • Eric T.

When I want a burger...THIS is where I go. 12 miles from my drive to their door step and it's worth every ounce of gas. Treat yourself. Go there. Thank me later.

I really was hoping I would have a reason to give this place more stars. The service was great. The food? Meh. I will go next time to try a burger, and hopefully update the stars. The fried Mac N Cheese was cold on the inside, so it wasn't "fried" long enough to cook the middle. The pulled pork was super, super salty and twice-cooked, so it was dry and crispy (and a weird dark color). The chicken had a good flavor, but bone dry. I honestly believe the sauce is just KC Masterpiece. Maybe Oregonians don't know much about BBQ to think this is the real deal, but dry, salty meat just isn't how I enjoy mine.

    (2)
  • Amy N.

Awesome food! The buffalo wings were great, sauce was different and made the wings. We shared the tri-tip and had the fried Mac and cheese and potato salad, both were great! Some hidden onion rings in our home-made potato chips and a fresh local brew- a great dinner, will definitely be back!

Pre-formed, frozen patty that was greasy and under-cooked. :( Sweet potato fries were tasteless.

Came here last night with a few buddies; the atmosphere was pretty cool with a real nice back patio area. We all had burgers and the special was the "Golden Year Burger" which was a 1/2# of beef, ham, egg, cheese and all the fixings. It also came with a mess of fries and it was delicious. They're trying hard in the beer category with some made in Oregon beers, but it'd be nice to see more diversity and quantity. Overall great place - would recommend.

The good: - French fries: Excellent, thin, crispy, perfectly fried. - Chips: Finally some fried-in-housechips that are actually good. I never like to order chips made in house, because they're inevitably overfried, making them brown and on the verge of burnt tasting. I had yet to go to a single restaurant where that is not the case, until I found Chief's Wild Wings. Beautiful, thick chips with a nice crunch and a perfect light golden color. Still hot from the fryer! - Deep fried MacnCheese: I was expecting those triangles that come frozen, that are sold at places like TGIF. Instead I got a large chunk of freshly made Mac in a crispy, crumbly shell. Homemade and delicious. - The service: Very friendly young women, they were so nice, and when I forgot my bag they came running after me to give it to me! The acceptable: - The house salad: Your standard lettuce+tomato+flavorless shredded cheddar, topped with a couple cheap croutons. Nothing to look forward to usually, but I was glad to see it made with Romaine lettuce instead of Iceberg. Having a small salad made me feel slightly better about all he other fried stuff. - The payment process: You order up at the counter and pay right away when you order. Well, I'm not going to leave a tip before I've even received service, and you can only leave one in cash afterwards, so bring some spare tipping money! The bad: - The Grilled Cheese was pretty bad. The bread was a little dry, not crispy enough on the outside, flavorless. The cheese was even more bland and not fully melted. I love Grilled Cheeses, but I only ate half of my sandwich. Not sure that has ever happened before. - Philly Cheese Steak: Not very good. Was that meat beef? Hard to tell. Didn't have much flavor other than the flavor of the oil that was all over the sandwich. The awful: Grease. SO. MUCH. GREASE. Grease all over the Philly Cheese Steak, the MacnCheese, the fries, and the chips. Obviously I understand that those things require grease, and the chips and fries were truly wonderful, but I actually picked up a chip and found a pocket of oil floating inside of it. (See pic) The grease was so bad, we all felt a little dirty afterwards, like we needed to wash our faces and mouths. I didn't eat much, and it was the first thing I'd eaten all day, but after that lunch I didn't have so much of a thought of more food or even a snack until at least 9pm. I actually felt a little sick from the grease afterwards. In short: Amazing fries and chips, and I hear the burgers and wings are amazing. Those are probably the better choices. Stay away from the sandwiches, and be prepared for a LOT of grease.

Great owners... Good food... And fast service. Limited parking but it's worth it! The classic burger and fries is a favorite, but the fish and chips is just as good!!

  • Katie C.

The fries are like crack. They are soooooooo good. I loved the burgers and the beer selection is great also. Smaller place but very fun. The staff is very nice and the food came out in reasonable time. Fills growlers to go too!

GOOD BBQ! I am so glad there is a sit down place for BBQ this good. They has great Pulled Pork and Brisket. I was happy to see some new items on the menu no one else has. Give them a try!

  • Helen A.

Food was good, came to the table fast and my kids - 8,6 and 18 months didn't have time to ask where the food was! Will come back here again. It's close to the freeway and we got to see downtown Coberg, cute and clean small town.

  • Heather S.

Good chip fries but the Buffalo sauce was cloyingly sweet and wrecked the otherwise well cooked wings. The other menu options looked good. I wouldn't make a special trip to go, but if I was nearby, I would be happy to give it another try.

good burgers! buffalo and regular, very tasty great sauce on them, really nice place good decorations, and lots of t.v.'s!! service was pretty good also.

  • Mister C.

Wow.... Quite literally one of the best burgers I have eaten! The half pound buffalo cheese burger.... And it's only $12 with a huge portion of shoestring fries! They could charge double and it would still be a deal... Compared to some places i know that call themselves 'specialty burger' spots... Its always nice to find a spot that serves good food at a reasonable price and knows how to make it! You can also choose their excellent homemade 'chip fries' aka: potato chips. Thank you, fellow Yelpers for steering us to this spot for a late lunch ... Solid fuel for our push down I-5 back home to Cali after a week spent in Newport, OR... Getting fat on seafood!

Go here all the time. Never disappointed. Burgers are favorite especially like buffalo burgers. The BLTs are second to none. Family local business. Patio in the summer is nice. Highly recommend

Best Burger in Eugene! BBQ is delicious. I recommend it all from pulled pork, smoked brisket, DELICIOUS Philly cheese steak, hot wings (house made BBQ sauces)...the list goes on. Even a fantastic beer selection. The thing is all expectations are met. Consistency, great service, great price. It's a BBQ joint with a lot of heart and soul!

    (5)

They were great wings and excellent fries for a moderate price. Our plate was very empty! :) It's a great little place just a couple miles off the interstate. We'll definitely stop and eat there again!

  • Lora S.

I love this place! I have tried other BBQ places in Eugene and Springfield but do not rate like this place. The BBQ sandwich is delicious and great with coleslaw on the side. Their fries are wonderful as well as their ribs. It's not fancy but its great!
