I live here in Canyonville, but until today, I had never eaten here. I wasn't expecting much considering the location. So I was surprised to find that the food was excellent! Firstly, my son and I ordered two glasses of their house wines. At $2.99 a glass (which they weren't skimping on) and good flavor, one can't complain. We ordered a barbecue chicken pizza and eggplant parmesan. The eggplant Parmesan came with spaghetti, garlic bread, and minestrone soup. The spaghetti was cooked my favorite way (al dente), the soup was homemade and delicious, and the garlic bread was perfectly toasted. The pizza was excellent, and everything was fresh. Plus the waitress was very kind and polite.

The staff was soo wonderful and tolerant of my noisy and messy 13 mo twins. The other guests were really nice too. The food was yummy and pretty inexpensive given how tasty it was. We'll be back next time we drive through.

Excellent eggplant parm. Spaghetti sauce rich and flavorful. Very nice service even though it was very busy, all tables taken. From the outside the restaurant does not look like much. Never judge a book by the cover. In my top five all time Italian restaurants.

Waitress was nice. Food was good. I ordered the half and half. I also ordered a watermelon Italian soda. All were great.

The food was quite good but there is only one waitress and she is overworked so service was slow. This might be your best but in Canyonville.

Let me begin by saying that the prices at this quaint & cozy restaurant are very reasonable and the people working there are very nice. However, in my opinion, the food served up here needs major attention by the folks in charge of the kitchen if it is to be considered truly worthy of serious culinary consideration. Running a restaurant is tough business no doubt. Especially in a weak economic climate such as the one we are currently experiencing. This is why if a small town eatery is going to succeed they must bring their best to the table. I hope the owners and cooks/chef take what I am about to describe next not as a complaint but rather an encouragement to excel. Let's start with the salad and garlic bread. I like romaine lettuce, especially if it's accompanied by a few additional greens or a nice dressing, but not an institutional food service tasting kind with absolutely no character whatsoever. The garlic bread tasted as if a fake butter flavored margarine was used instead of something healthier such as olive oil, garlic & a little parmesan cheese were used. My spouse and I did not eat the garlic bread even as toasted to perfection as it was. Looks aren't everything when it comes to food. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and I opted for an old favorite, calzone. We were in somewhat of a hurry and the wait person was very accommodating by getting our order in quickly to the kitchen when we told her our circumstances. Unfortunately it took her twenty minutes to get to our table to take our order. In fairness it appeared as if they were not adequately prepared to deal with a full dining area on a Friday evening at 6:30 PM, although I would imagine this would be one of their busier times of the week. Our food arrived in roughly 25 minutes after we ordered. My wife's pasta and accompanying sauce were fine. The meatballs were another story . They were gamey and about the consistency of meatloaf. Not at all what one would expect from an Italian restaurant. My calzone, which is described in the menu as coming stuffed with a mixture of three cheeses and pepperoni, was the greatest disappointment of the evening. I like ricotta cheese, but this just tasted foul. I saw no indication of any other type of cheese and the pepperoni was cut into tiny pieces and evidently blended into this ricotta mess. I ended up scrapping all this gooey, smelly stuff off the crust and ate only the bread. I will say that the accompanying sauce was good. It wasn't great, but it was edible more than just a little, which is less than I can say about what came stuffed inside. 5 stars for the employees and 3.5 for the passable sauces but sadly a big goose egg for the food. I don't care how nice a restaurant looks, smells, sounds or how fancy or new it is. It can be served out the back of a truck or shack for all I care. The food is what counts. I do hope that the folks who own and work at Serafino's will read this as the encouragement it is intended to be to evaluate what they bring to the table and step up their game. I'd really like to eat my words here, along with some outstanding Italian food should I choose to revisit this small Southern Oregon town eatery some day.

Great Italian food, eat here any time passing thru or staying in the area. Good portions of food at reasonable prices even the Italian wine we decided to try was less than $20. for a bottle. Only reason I don't rate it 5 stars is that there is always only one waitress and this, small place, can be busy especially at dinner time. The waitress had more business than she could handle on this night which means she was stretched thin...

As close to NY as I have found on the left coast. Decent service, friendly folks but be prepared to sit a bit

Great little locally owned Italian place. I had manicotti it was great. After leaving that pathetic Seven Feathers resturant it was a relief to find a cute smoke free nice place. You will not be disappointed . My husband had spaghetti and meatballs. Both came with soup or salad and wine house 2.99 great deal . Small good and local

The service was really bad. There was only one waitress and she unfortunately had to help the cook also. Very small portions for the price. We ordered the half and half pasta and the chicken Parmesan. The sauce was very bland and the garlic bread was not very garlicky. Somehow it totaled $31. We were very disappointed and will not return.

Nice stop for dinner off of I-5, while traveling from California to Salem. Enjoyed the chicken alfredo pasta, spaghetti and ravioli, and pizza. Small number of tables, perhaps 8 to 10 as I recall. Would stop by again.

enjoyed dinner recently while in Canyonville, OR. we didn't want to eat at the local casino (but did go for a show) so looked for what else was available. the salad was plain, the bread hot and the pasta was good. the large portions made up for any negatives as we ate the leftover lasagna and pasta alfredo the following day for lunch. there was only 1 waitress for the small restaurant which was OK but if it was busy, it would've been a problem. I'll go again for pasta or try somewhere else in Canyonville next time.

Warmed over unflavored hot dog buns...never again!!

We stopped in Canyonville for some lunch on a trip through Oregon. The Italian grinder was delicious. My husband (who is Italian) loved the minestrone so much he wants to stop back in on the return trip. Great service too. Two sandwiches, soup, salad, and two Peronis were under $20. So glad we found it.

A perfect score for this place! Had the Stromboli and it was delish. I love their yeasty dough, you may want to double order your garlic bread! They are so garlicky and not drown in butter. The bread is so soft and gooey, which I love. Fast and friendly service.

Very disappointed with the pizza. We ordered half Greek and half Campfire. They both tasted bland and didn't have much toppings. Both my friend and I agreed that we could have bought frozen pizza for a cheaper price but the same quality. The server was friendly. The place was busy but my guess is that it's because there aren't many other options in the area.

Just not quite what I expected by a preview of the menu and the name. It is a very small cafe deli style place with just a very few tables. The food is adequate and the prices are OK. For me there was nothing special to recommend it .

Let's face it, restaurant choices are certainly limited in Canyonville. Since we are not big fans of casino food, we thought we would try out this local, intimate eatery in central Canyonville. It is a small place with maybe 10 tables. The menu is typical American Italian with choices of pizza, pasta, etc. Nobody on a gluten free or Atkins diet will survive this place. The staff was very welcoming and it was a comfortable and friendly place to hang out. I had the lasagna dinner. All of the dinners come with either soup or salad. Although not overly unique, the lasagna was good and the toasted bread that came with the meal was delicious. Comfort American Italian is how I would classify the place. If you are staying in Canyonville, this is definitely a worthwhile stop.

Serafinos is a good place to eat but is super expensive and I personally think it should be on restaurant impossible because they could way better.

Small dinning area. Food was small servings and priced high. My meal was bland. Service was slow.

The food was good for a small local place. Much better than the restaurant at the Seven Feathers Casino we ate at the night before. I thought my lasagna was a little mushy and I was not a fan of the ground beef, but the ricotta and spices were good. I had the minestrone soup which was pretty good. It had a good mix of veg tables and seasoning. My husband had the chicken Parmesan and he liked it. The pasta with meat sauce was a hit for the kids. They devoured it! The portions are big and the dinners come with salad and garlic bread. Overall a good option over the casino.

Serafino's is my must stop anytime I'm traveling I-5, or it used to be. I love this place so much that I'm willing to drive the hour and twenty minutes from Ashland even if I'm not on the way anywhere else. But the cost of gas is balanced by the l-o-w prices. True they've raised their corkage fee, and their salads are curiously tiny, but you can't leave there hungry and they offer an acceptable $3.99 glass of Chianti, so why nit-pick? On the plus side, it's real Italian down to the imported pasta, and the prices are a fraction of anyplace around here, what you might pay in an Italian neighborhood back east. Lunch is served all day and it's huge. The town itself is kind of sad with all the boarded up businesses and the huge casino, but it does have a nice park on the creek.

Just got back from Serafinos. While the beer and service were fantastic, my calzone was not. Ricotta scares me and this thing was loaded with it (though after we left my husband reminded me that calzones normally have a lot of ricotta, so I should have known better.) My minestrone soup wasn't memorable, but certainly warmed me up after a day of tree felling and brush clearing in the snow. My husband had the "Pollo di fetticuni alfredo" which he really liked, so I can't say everything here is bad. I've also had the pizza before in past, which was good. My beer was called the "Dead Mans Ale," and was awesome! Not your normal bitter ale, but a nice smooth ale with a clean finish. Our waitress was attentive and had a good sense of humor. That given, three stars.

We were traveling up to Portland and stopped halfway in Canyonville. The Seven Feather's coffee shop is fine, but we wanted something different. Serafino's reflects the personality of Canyonville. Small, quaint and the feel of home. To start, the Minestrone soup was good. We ate there on two occasions and had the Eggplant Parmigiana, and Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. They were very good and their prices are very reasonable. They were accommodating to my young son to make Spaghetti with butter and romano cheese. Their house wine is good and well priced. We will definitely be eating there again. Our server Katie was great. You might want to call ahead to check if there is a wait. It is small and can fill up quickly on some nights. A nice place when you are on the road.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
