Absolutely LOVE this place. Great coffee, they serve Honolulu Coffee Company which is awesome. We lived in Hawaii for 6 years and got to know the owners of HCC so once we moved back to the mainland it was really nice to have that connection. Plus it's just awesome coffee. The service is great, everyone is always super friendly and helpful and the ice cream here is spectacular, really rich and creamy. Be warned though, get there before 4pm because on slow days they will close early. One of the benefits of owning the joint and living in a small town! One more thing, they are CASH ONLY which is really no big deal, just be prepared.
By far the best coffee in the area. Enjoyed the company with a nice brew of Hawaiian Estate berry brew. Worth the stop! the owner is awesome and will make you feel welcome!
Expensive for what you get, in my opinion. We stopped for ice cream and the line was quite long. Only one guy working, who seemed pretty laid back, like he might be on island time. They had Tillamook ice cream, which is always great, but the scoops were tiny. My husband called them kids size. Overall, this place is conveniently located and has good ice cream, but way overpriced for such tiny scoops.

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at this place, but if your staying at one of the 4 hotels that are under management by Cannon Beach Lodging, then this place is a good deal for breakfast. My wife had the complementary breakfast & and I had French Toast with Side of Crispy Bacon total minus tip was only $8+ dollars, for that price the breakfast was very good, only issue I had was it came out cold and cafe was small so when people started to show up, it got very crowded and you had allot people standing around you while your trying to eat. Not to mention you had to fight through the line to get your coffee. I would've rated higher if food came out warm / hot, and they did a better job of line management, so patrons eating don't have to look at the backside of other guest waiting to order.
The service was a little slow for a half empty restaurant, but the food was a pleasant surprise! Better than much of the restaurants around here. The ladies who run it are a hoot!
I will say up front that we did not get a chance to eat here, and that is the reason for our score. I bet the food is delicious and the reviews on Yelp made us excited to make the trek up to check them out. We noted the restaurant was open from 11am - 9pm as stated on their listing. It was nearing 3pm so we thought it would be a perfect time to walk up from downtown and beat the dinner rush. My wife and I walked up with our 2 kids to find that they close from 3pm - 5pm. It was 3:02pm. I don't begrudge any business for setting their own hours, but it is tremendously disappointing to walk up the hill a half mile with the family only to be sent back down because they didn't mark their business hours properly (Yelp does allow multiple open windows per day). They did recommend the hardware store/pub across the street, but our experience there wasn't very exciting. The walk back was much grumpier than the walk up. Like I said, the food is probably delicious, but we won't ever try it because the experience soured us on it.

Incredible New Orleans flavors lovingly coaxed by a chef with heart and a California consciousness. Easy to get tasty flavors from the usual crutch (butter, bacon, sugar, Paula Deen types) but chef john does not take the easy way out yet creates such spectacular flavors. And makes the idea of vegan dining finally worth entertaining. A cosy, hideaway meant for the locals. Sharing the good luck we had hearing about it from a local inn keeper (Lands End).
We came for the bacon wrapped dates, we stayed all night for the fun. I'm a little late getting to this, so late in fact that we're heading back to Cannon Beach today for another getaway and are planning another visit to Sweet Basil's tonight. Our first time around, we were in town for the Stormy Weather Art & Wine Festival in November and had the luck of ending up here after poking our heads into several other restaurants in town. When my wife and I arrived around 7pm, they had a live band playing and it was standing room only in the bar area. Since we were on vacation with nowhere else to go, we decided we'd stick around. Best decision of the weekend. The bartender, Ted, treated us like family from the moment he saw us standing by the door. The band was great--they even setup for an encore performance after taking down all their gear when a second wave of customers came in an hour or so before closing time. That's when the dancing started. Great wine. Great people. Great time. At the end of the night it had begun raining and Ted lent us his umbrella for our walk back to our hotel (thanks again!). Lucky for us, the forecast calls for clear skies and more good times at Sweet Basil's tonight....
My wife and I really wanted to check out this restaurant after reading all the reviews, and have mixed reviews on this place. if your looking for a complete dining experience you will be sorely disappointed, service was extremely slow, nonexistent, plating of food looked like something you cooked up in the your own kitchen. I was sort've expecting this, and was really hoping the food would knock me out, when our order finally did arrive I was not disappointed. it was awesome, could've been due to me being extremely hungry but the food kicked butt. My wife had the Turkey / Basil wrap, I ordered the Pulled Pork Melt, both had alot of flavor and tasted really awesome. Not sure why it took so long to get our food for two sandwiches, but worth the wait. my overall recommendation would be if you have time to kill, and do not care about service, you have to try this place. The Sandwiches totally ROCK. I would've given them a 4.5 stars if service was better.

I had a bad feeling about this place from the get go. When I called them to see about reservations for a large party, the man on the phone made it sound like he was doing us a favor by allowing us to dine there. After getting off the phone with the rude and less than helpful man I decided not to waste my time with the Bistro. Unfortunately one of the members of the dinner really liked the Bistro and was very adamant about going there. When I called back a second time to set up an appointment, I got a woman on the line. She was actually very nice and helpful and I felt much better about making a reservation with them. When we arrived, our tables were set up and we had multiple servers and runners helping us out since we had a large party. Unlike my initial interaction with them, it wasn't the service or the rudeness that turned me off to them this time, it was the food. I ordered the pork chop. It came out thick and on the bone so I was very excited to bite into it. This was the second worst pork chop I had ever eaten. The worst being in a dive bar in SE Portland that was less than a third of the price. I really don't know how you can ruin a pork chop like this. It looked like a great cut so I can only imagine it was overcooked and/or left underneath a heat lamp for an extended period of time as the other dishes were prepared. The potatoes that came with it were no better. I swapped some of my pork chop for some of the steak of the person sitting next to me. He had ordered his medium-rare, but it was cooked to medium-well or well. Either way it was also tough and chewy. Really just terrible. I ordered the panna cotta for dessert and it wasn't any better. The syrup on top was far too thick and sweet and the panna cotta itself was dull with an odd texture. Not only was it a terrible meal, but for the price I was greatly disappointed. One of the most disappointing meals I had had in sometime.
Beloved and I just dined here. Scallops to die for! The service was prompt and the staff was friendly and efficient. The Bistro has been a family favorite for years, both pre and post fire. The lemon soup is a specialty and is worth the trip on its own.
My fiance and I had arrived late to cannon beach for new years and found that most of the restaurants were booked solid. We called the bistro and found that they could seat us right away. Our server, Christian, was attentive but not overbearing. All of our food was absolutely delicious and the ambience was perfect. The guitar player was the perfect touch. They really made our night special from start to finish. Plus, their wine selection was spot on.

I am shocked this spot got a 4 out 5, someone is lying! I had never been to cannon beach before and just fell in love with every piece of it. On our way back to our car we stopped for lunch. First impression was bad and I knew after we ordered we should have gotten up to leave, but I figured I'm just over reacting. It's very small, and has odd seating arrangements with 3 tables in a Hallway on your way to the bathroom. The door was left open as well and it was 45 degrees out and very windy. After 10 minutes of sitting down we got our water with a "here you go, sorry we are busy" and he stormed off. No room for us to put in a drink order. From the reviews I have read sounds like they are always under staffed. After another 5 min the server came back and said in a rushed voice "ok what do u want to order" I felt so rushed and so uncomfortable I stumbled over my order... Once he finished with us he just stormed off, never asked if we had questions or made small talk. At that point our moods were starting to go sour. We ordered a lamb wrap and a tuna and dill havarti. However I was informed they have no havarti. And I heard at the table behind is they were out of a few different kinds of beers. Not only was the server horrible a huge BANG happened in the kitchen. Me and my husband jumped it was so loud. Sounded like someone threw plates on the ground. 40 minutes later we get our sandwiches. We didn't order warm sandwiches, so that right there tells u how unorganized and under staffed they are. My tuna was over seasoned, no dill taste and when I picked up the sandwich the crust fell off. My husband had the lamb wrap and it tasted like cardboard! He are 4 bites and that was it. No seasoning, dry lamb. Disappointment!!!! He no longer had an appetite anyway after our horrible experience. Later the server comes to bus a table that was dirty since we arrived there and sAid "are you folks ok because I have no time to come back over this way again." I couldn't even speak. We needed boxes... And he could clearly see that. We had enough. We made a 25$ mistake. What a waste of money. No tip was earned or deserved for unnecessary behavior. What a crappy way to end our cannon beach visit.
I am disappointed. Since they had a kids menu, and the restaurant was nearly empty, I figured it would be a good place for my 2yr old daughter and I to grab lunch. Apparently the waitress disagreed, she dropped off waters without a word, and later appeared at the table silently, which was awkward considering I saw her warmly greet the middle aged couple who walked in behind us, with offers of drink orders and specials. I ordered for my daughter first, and asked for a minute more for my food. She walked away and I assumed she was putting in the first order, but I was wrong. I ordered the curried chicken pita, ordered a grilled cheese for my kid. I got my pita but my daughter got a quesadilla with two sour orange slices on the side. Not worth complaining about, but disappointing to get the order completely wrong, and when it came out, it was so hot that it nearly burned my hand, and when it finally cooled the edges of the tortilla were rock hard and not good. I wanted to love my curried chicken pita, large ripe slices of tomato, cool cucumber, hummus and lettuce. But it was so salty, that the curry flavor barely came thru and there was more salt flavor than anything else. I hoped a special recipe cookie (maple bacon) might redeem them, but no, it was boring and lacked flavor. Every time I decide to venture into Cannon Beach, I remember why I never go there, and this place didn't change my opinion.
During our stay in Cannon Beach, we stumbled upon Season's Cafe for lunch one afternoon. The sandwich's here are very inventive and unlike anything I have ever tasted...in a GOOD way! On this particular trip, I tried the California - a turkey sandwich with avocado, onion, lettuce and tomato with cream cheese on cinnamon bread!?!?! I know that cinnamon bread sounds crazy right, but it's exactly what makes this sandwich so CRAZY GOOD! My husband tried the Aussie - thinly sliced roasted leg of lamb on crusty french bread served with a mint a jus...another sandwich masterpiece! My only wish is that they open a satellite location in my hometown of Nashville, TN. Do your taste buds a favor and stop in Season's Cafe the next time you are in town and give one of these sandwiches a try!

Shaka brah. Close your eyes and think of the most stereotypical California surfer dude. Now open your eyes. There he is! Your server, right in little ol' Cannon Beach. I can't remember his name, but he was super fun, super chill, much brah. He'll be on American Ninja Warrior in the fall, even. Nice kid. The food and drink were very good. Great beer list, lots of choices from local breweries. The fish tacos were very good, and possessed the kind of aggressive spiciness that would make a lesser man cry. We come to Cannon Beach often, and while there are a lot of adorable places to eat while in town, we always seem to wander over to Lumberyard.
My wife and I have visited Lumberyard several times over the years. Most recently, last night. We have generally been happy with food and service. However, last night was a tad disappointing. We started off with onion rings and they were very good although pricey at 10.99 for eight rings. My wife had to ask twice for lemons for our water. Her glass of wine came out quickly. She had chicken Alfredo and it looked dry, although she did not complain. She had to ask for butter when none came with her bread. I had the Hawaiian pizza - which I've had before - and found it acceptable although small at 15.99. We passed on desert and wound up with a $56 bill. Since the server was friendly and responsive despite being very busy, we left her 20+%. Overall, this is a respectable place to eat, but I do think the prices are too high for what you get, undoubtedly due to it's proximity to the beach. That said, I think we will be looking for an alternative on our next visit to Cannon Beach.
Food 3.3 Service 2.5 Wait 3.0 Atmosphere 2.3 The food was average at best. The burgers are small and way too thick. Fries were actually very good compared to others I've had in cannon beach. I was often left with an empty glass and waiting quite a while for food and then our check. We had a 30 min wait for a party off three on a Sunday night. The decor was nice but not in good condition. Overall it got the job done.

This place is super super small. Part of it is for adults only, which is the bar side, and the other side is the side of the place that you can take your kids too. There is no real waiting area, except the narrow entrance/walk way that you stand and wait for a table (it seems to be very busy all of the time), while people squeeze their way through to make it to the bathroom, which is through the bar. I pretty much rubbed my butt on anyone sitting down, on my way to the bathroom. I am not a petite woman, but if I was, I still would be rubbing up against everyone because there is no real designated walk way. I understand that these people might be famous, or popular with everyone, but I don't think they should of cramped so many seat inside just to accommodate more customers. Its had to enjoy your self or your company that you are with, when the tables are so close together, you are pretty much eating in a strangers lap. The food was alright. Nothing special for the price. Hamburger was a bit messy, but thats not something a fork and knife cant fix. I usually like to eat mine with a fork and knife anyways. My husband and I are not big drinkers, and when we do dabble in an acaholic drink, its more than likely not beer, as we do not enjoy it in the least. My husband is always attempting it though and sampled three of their beers in shot glasses, that I thought was very cute, and a clever idea for someone like him, who don't drink. I won't really say our opinion on their home brews as like I said, we aren't beer drinkers; so we don't know the real beauty or whats considered quality. Though, there were plenty of people there enjoying pint after pint after pint of it. So they have to be good, I don't know. Always love a good hamburger, but I don't think I will be excited about coming back here. Thanks anyways.
For some reason I have been back to Bill's nearly every time I visit Cannon Beach, and not because it's particularly good. The food is basic-to-less-than-basic bar fare. The beers are decent. It's just... it's there. It's a couple blocks from the beach. It's a tavern and it has cold beer and fish & chips. It could do a lot worse. See you next time, Bill.
Would you like some shrimp with your cocktail sauce? I've got a pretty good idea what a shrimp cocktail should look like, and this isn't it. The shrimp was pretty sickly looking, and was doused with cocktail sauce. We left it less than half eaten, and none of the wait staff thought to ask how everything was at our table. They just didn't seem to care. Just goes to prove that you don't have to be friendly or have good food to stay in business if you have a good location in a busy tourist town like Cannon Beach. Beer was ok. Food left a lot to be desired. Service was even worse.
