My husband and I went to Togo's for the first time at the location on NE 97 and were incredibly disappointed. It was like an overpriced subway with expired produce. We ordered a 9" turkey and avocado sandwich: the lettuce was wilted and brown and the avocado spread was brown and crusty on the sides of the container (at least a few days old). We had them hold off on the avocado spread because I was afraid of getting food poisoning. The same knife was used to dip and spread multiple sauces on the sandwich and placed in the lettuce bin after each use. Having worked in the food industry before, I saw many food handling violations. I'm not sure what the other locations are like, but after that experience we will never go to Togo's again.

Thank you Matt for the quick response. I do appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge my issue.. like I said, ive always loved Togos and have fond memories of my childhood, when I got to have Togos for dinner! Yay Togos night! Again, thank you for responding. I have always liked Togos. .and I hate to give them 2 stars. But lately, every time I have ordered a sandwich, the bread is days old! Maybe even just a day old, I dont really know but I can tell it isnt fresh. I have ordered at different times in the day, hoping maybe a later timeframe would get me the fresher stuff. I have tried different flavors of bread too. Its just disappointing. Don't know when I will be back.

Great sandwiches. Salad didn't have all the toppings the menu stated. There were approximately 7 sandwich makers and it was extremely hectic. The person making my food was all over the place, my husband was on the other side of the line and his sandwich maker was doing the same thing. No order like subway or any other sandwich shoppe. I paid for my food, husband came over to ask if I paid for his food, stood there and told a guy behind the counter what he had and this guy walked off and I stood there for awhile , felt ignored so I sat and we ate our food. Upon finishing our lunch I stood at the counter again, ignored. We don't have time to stand there, were on our trip home, so we walked out. No one followed us out. They were not paying a lick of attention to the dining area and what was going on. I can't believe the gross disorder in this Togo's. As a small business owner I would have lost my mind if I would have walked in and saw this chaos. It wasn't that busy with patrons. But behind the counter it looked like the place was at capacity, but there were only about 12 to 15 patrons. I hope the owner reads this and fixes the situation. It was bad. And my husband didn't get the drink he ordered either. Stood there to be ignored. What a shame. The owner lost money today and the Togo's corporation looked bad too.

Yum! I got the Italian, which is very good, just wasn't in the mood for it. I almost stole my husbands roast beef though, so freaking good! Wish there was a Togo's in the Portland Vancouver area again!!!!

Sandwiches were ok, but they need to train their help a little better. My husband and i ordered our sandwiches and the girls working there did not seem to know the menu. When i was asked what i wanted on my sandwich, i told them to put exactly what it had listed on the board. One of the girls looked on the board and still had trouble figuring out what was on the sandwich and started to argue with me about what was on it. I would hate to see what happens if there is a lunch or dinner rush. I would have given this another star if it had not been for the service.

The #9 Hot Pastrami has been my favorite sandwich since I was a kid. We don't have many Togo's in Oregon, so I stopped by this location while visiting Bend. It was the same great sandwich I remember. The employees were fast, courteous, and friendly. Thanks for continuing to make the #9 my favorite!

Ordered a sandwich and watched them put on processed meats and cheese. I prefer getting it sliced right when I order my sub sandwich. I could of just went to a Subway if I wanted that crap. Then I find they wouldn't heat it up after it's been "across the counter". The guy heated up the bread with cheese for me to transfer my meat over so that helped it from giving it a one star rating. Favor was bland and boring.

I'll admit it. I'm an TOGOS fan. Have been for most of my life. Growing up in the Bay Area, I have fond memories of my Pop bringing home a huge family size monster of a sandwich for us to feed on all weekend. As I got older...ie: teenager...that sandwich might only last Friday and Saturday. Then just Friday. Later, when I was in the Coast Guard and stationed in Hawaii, I was dismayed to learn there were no TOGOS in the islands. But there was this new chain called Subway. No offense, Subway, but you are not and will never be a TOGOS. TOGOS has taken forever to move out of the Bay Area and into Central Oregon! I'm so thankful they are finally here....pushing out the inferior Quiznos while they are at it. The first locaton opened on Hwy 20E earlier this summer at the former Quiznos. Woo-hoo! And now this location opened a few weeks ago. Again, replacing the north Quiznos. This location is high traffic and the store layout is much more similar to the franchise stores in the Bay Area. We stopped in here last Friday (11-2-12) for lunch before heading out of town. They had been open barely a week and I was pleased to see: 1) Help from the other store. Everything appeared to be going smoothly. 2) A packed restaurant for the lunch crowd. 3) People finishing their meals and apparently enjoying themselves. So why 4 stars and not 5? Easy. Although I love TOGOS and would choose them over any other sandwich shop, I cannot lie and say they have the best quality control....particularly in the produce. But this is not unique to TOGOS....most other sandwich shops / delis suffer from this too. In particular, the tomatoes. Sometimes I just want to pull the person aside and say, "Are you really going to put that icky slice of tomato on my sandwich? Would you put that on YOUR sandwich? Would you eat that?" It amazes me that someone could be so blind to this. And it's one reason I will never order a sandwhich (or burger) with tomatoes unless I can see it being made. So no drive thru for me. Either that, or I say, "Hold the tomatoes". Pet peeve. But I'm sure others feel the same way. Otherwise, I'm a fan of everything else. I have my favorite sandwiches but have tried most on the menu....never being displeased. Their soups are yummy. Even their salads are pretty good. Mind you, none of it is gourmet! It's just good. Yep...solid four stars. I'm a fan!

This has to be the best sandwich place in town. At their suggestion I had the hot pastrami and I am hooked. Great flavor and more than twice as much meat as you get at other places. Prices are reasonable - especially for what you get. Service is friendly and quick.

People comparing this to subway. You are right to the point of getting what you want on it, but the quality of the meats and veggies seem much better then subcrap. I'm on vacation for a week here in Bend. My friend whom I'm staying with recommended this place so while hes at work I took a drive here. Place was busy, so thats a good sign. First time being at a togos so i had to decide what I wanted while letting a few people ahead of me. Ended up getting the Uncle Tonys and it was pretty good.Loads of flavor. decent amount of meats and veggies. just how a sandwhich should be. I'm not too found of sandwiches let alone sandwich shops.. So far I only like two other smaller chains but I think I found a third and was surprise they have a location in Beaverton, OR where I live. Might go here once more before I head back, if not I'll be sure to go to the Beaverton location.

You can't go wrong with a Togos sandwich. The crew working when we stopped by were helpful with tasty suggestions. There was no reason for withholding the 5th star other than it is just a sandwich shop.
