When we are in Bend, we always make a point to visit this Shari's. The service has always been excellent, and the servers are friendly and attentive. The kids menu is amazingly varied. The food portions are generous, and everything is so tasty. We were just at this Shari's in July, 2012. After 3 weeks on the road with the granddaughters, it was a real treat to get some "comfort-style" food at a convenient and comfortable location. We'll be back!

My brother, sister-in-law, and their two young children were in town and I wanted to go out to breakfast. It took forever for the food to arrive even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. While waiting for the food, the server offered a refill of hot water for my tea but it turned out to be lukewarm. When my egg & pancakes finally arrived, the poached egg was cooked all the way through like a hard boiled egg. A lousy topping for pancakes! Because the kids were getting antsy I just ate it. The only good thing was the nice sippy cups for the kids. Everything else was lousy.

My mom, husband and I were staying at the Thousand Trails for a few days and went into town for groceries. We saw the Sharis and thought yum pie! It happened to be moms day and they had her favorite pie, strawberry. However the one she wanted wasnt made up. The chef offered to make one for us if we wanted to wait. We did. All of the staff was super friendly while we waited and one even made sure we were being helped even though she was leaving. The pies were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed them along with our mothers day roses. My mom is 84 and doesnt get out much, my husband has terminal cancer, to say that I apreciate such great service would be an understatment. A smile and courtesy go a long way in my day. You have a great team there, thank you!

Eh, it's good for what it is. Just don't expect fruit that's 100% fresh. Though the Pecan French Toast didn't disappoint!

I must say I'm baffled by all the negative reviews. Staying at the Riverhouse Inn meant frequent visits to this restaurant. Favorite of all was free pie night on Wednesday. They make some excellent pie! So what's up with my five stars? Well, the staff is fine. I never had any problems. It seems they may have a high turn rate though was I've never had the same waitress twice. That could potentially cause issues for some customers. But, I've never had issues with the service. The prices are around $10 for most dishes, and what sets this place apart is really the quality of the food and how well it's prepared. You would not find dishes like these for anything less than $8-12 more in other restaurants. The meat in the Northwest Steak sallad is excellent. So is the pecans and the blue cheese. To top it off, they have some type of home baked bread which has a very pleasing texture. Delicious taste and crispy on the outside and just slightly chewy. This place is a gem which no one else seems to have discovered (Except for seniors. They found it). It's Zydeco for a fraction of the price.

Normally it is a decent experience here with good service, but this visit was not very good. We ordered the breakfast sampler and the eggs were cold, the Tuscan chicken salad was terrible. The chicken tasted fishy. Which the shrimp omelet was another order we had so there is no doubt of cross contamination. Our waitress was slow and our drinks were empty most of our visit. The entire 30min before our cold food came out, our drinks were gone. There is almost no one here. It was a terrible experience.

I usually like Shari's, but this location couldn't care less about service. I finally had to walk out. Judging from the other reviews, I'm not the only person who's been neglected and left waiting for that so-called waitress who just never has time to make it over to the table. [BTW: The location on South Highway 97 is much better.]

Hadn't been to Shari's in a long time, but we stopped at this one on a Sunday. I was shocked at the variety of options on the menu. Didn't know they offer panini's, lunch combos, and seasonal desserts. Our food server Camiile, did a great job of being friendly and attentive. In fact, the entire staff was fantastic. And the Blackberry seasonal pie? Outstanding

Horrible food. Very undercooked. If u arrive after 9 am the prices on the menu go up. Couldn't carry on a conversation because the music was so loud.

Food was good so that gets about 3.5 stars there... Another half a star for their hours because rest of the entire town was dead... Service was ok at best, not going to take any stars away for not being exceptional..

Good breakfast. Split a breakfast plate between two people and it was enough food. Not so much food that I went into a coma. Good gravy. Good service. I can see why old people love eating here.

One star is far too generous... We were not even acknowledged at the door (we were the only customers waiting at the door) for nearly ten minutes. We were then informed that it would be a minimum 15 minute wait for a table (only half the tables were full) and at least 30 minute wait for food after ordering. We asked if we could just order dessert to go and were told we would experience the same wait time but were then left at the door again. Then a waitress came over pointing to a table on the far side of the restaurant and left us to go find it ourselves. Another waitress came out and asked about drinks but never returned with them. We ordered our desserts and are currently still sitting here 25 minutes later with no drinks or dessert. There is a reason I never walk into a Sharis unless I am with someone else who insists.

We came in just for Pi day (3/14) so this review is only for the pies. I find it a little difficult to believe that they are award winning, because they didn't blow my mind with their flavor or crust. The key lime was a good level of tart and had the prerequisite graham cracker crust, but it had a lot of sugar - a little too much for my taste. The consistency was great; a little thicker than pudding, and the flecks of key lime zest were really pretty. The chocolate cream was frozen rock solid. It looked a little brownish gray and the taste was like an extremely concentrated fudgecicle. Also a little too sweet, and completely covered in whipped cream. The chocolate whipped cream accent was really good. It was like a chocolate mousse and I would have rather had an entire pie filled with that! The crust was your standard pastry crust, but not flaky, and really seemed a lot like those frozen pie crusts you can buy at the grocery store...but not even at that level. The reason for giving them a respectable 3 stars despite the lackluster pies, is because their service is beyond stellar. We were greeted immediately upon walking in, despite them being busy, and were seated right away. Our waitress was super charming and friendly, and even the cashier was chatty. We really appreciated the efficient, wonderful service.

Under staffed and sat at a table where I could see food on the counter meals were sitting almost 15 minutes after being finished cooking

First (and last) visit and what a complete train wreck. Let me start with the one redeeming quality- my server Tori was friendly, attentive and showed concern for my experience. I ordered a T-Bone steak breakfast (medium rare) which came with 2 eggs (over easy), hash browns and a couple pancakes. Food arrived in a very decent time. But EVERY item was cooked wrong. The T-Bone was so rare my plate was full of blood, the eggs were over hard, the pancakes were burned on one side and under cooked on the presenting side. I truly realize this is not Ruth Chris, but it was apparent that the cooks started everything at the same time even though cooking times for the eggs and pancakes are no where close to the steak. I sent the steak back and ate the rest of the meal. Steak came back way over cooked. My lucky dog gets that meal. The server showed concern and recognized the meal was cooked incorrectly. But still should of grabbed a manager. But she was still a VERY bright star in a cloudy mess!

Rolling through the negative reviews made yes iffy... We said what the heck.. 10 people there was still a decent crowd, not busy but decent crowd through here. The coffee for restaurant review 4/5 vs other "breakfast joints" It was clean, the food was decent and the server was sweet and friendly. We were helped in a timely manner and the service was attentive. In reality it should be average for a three stars but so many places are way below that range. Can i recommend you try it for yourself? Absolutely! The crowd seemed to be regulars more older folk but hey, they still eat here and i could see myself coming back to eat here after sobering up from a summer beer festival here in bend

I have had over a dozen meals and have found the food consistently good. I have also found that you get above vaue in cost and service, especially from a diner that is open 24/365.

I had to pick at least one star, otherwise this place would rate no stars based on my last visit. My first night in town, I arrived at Shari's about 11:30 p.m. I ordered two burgers and they were not busy. I waited THIRTY minutes. Yes 30 minutes for two burgers to go. They were awful, the beef was not good, it tasted like a frozen patty GROSS GROSS GROSS. RUN THE OTHER WAY, go anywhere else.

I'm from the land of diners (new jersey) when I'm not fist pumping to some Flippin' sweet tunes with my Bros I'm at a diner getting my nosh on. The pancakes are light and fluffy At nearly an inch thick, it was a fantastic compliment to the chicken fajita omelet. Based on my experience. This place would be a top 10% diner. And yeah I'm a Yankee fan. You wanna make somethin' of it?

Still Shari's, with waitstaff who could care less about a patron unless you are a good-old-boy they all know. Someone might mention that their pay comes from customers not the bank. Not to return while passing thru Beautiful Bend, OR.
