Love the Kalbi ribs here!!! Everytime I'm in Beaverton I come here for food. Everything is made to order so you will have to wait for your food to be cooked (except kalua pork and one of the chicken items I believe). As a Hawaii transplant who now lives in the Portland area, I miss food from home so much. This is the closest to Hawaii fusion take out food you can find right down to the mac salad. They even have passion orange Hawaiian Sun!!! Be prepared to pay with cash though. Their credit card system is highly unreliable and takes longer to process (which means you may hold up the line or be asked to pay with cash). The only thing I might mention is that the windows and ledges may need cleaning more often. It seems like an older building which is one thing but it has that "hole in the wall" feel a bit more so than most places. Hoping maybe they update the building or better yet open one close to Jantzen Beach!! *nudge nudge* Mahalo for the great Kalbi ribs!! See you guys soon :)

Hands down, the best food poisoning I've ever had. Would recommend!

I ordered a Kalbi chicken and pork adobo combo with two scoops of rices and a scoop of salad. Big plate with lots of foods. It really fills you up for $7 buck, quality of the foods is ok. Flavor is good, 10 choices of menu to choose from.

I love Roxy Island Grill. We've tried the Teriyaki Chicken, Shoyu Chicken, Kalbi, Loco Moco Burger, and Spam Musubi. They have a Keiki Bowl with one entree for only $5 and plenty of protein to fill you up. Teriyaki Chicken is our favorite. Today, we walked in to walk off our meal. They had UB 40 and Bob Marley songs on their speaker system. The employees are friendly and a happy bunch. You can come to a line of 15 plus or just a few. They are popular, but the line moves fast. Glad to have made Roxy Island Grill eats to our rotation of favorite eats.

good Hawaiian food and friendly service. Had the shoyu chicken, chicken katsu, and they gave us free garlic chicken. next time I'm in the area the Garlic chicken is exactly what I'm ordering!

  • Emma F.

Shoyu chicken is delicious! The mac salad is yummy as well. The tables can be a little sticky and grimy but that's my only complaint. Service is friendly and food comes out quickly. Best to take it to go!

I LOVE Roxy's. Combination of great eats and low prices keeps me coming here once a week. Great spot for lunch/dinner take out after a hard day at the office. Great friendly staff.

First time to Roxy's even though we pass through Beaverton a lot. Honestly Roxy's rivals some of the best Hawaiian local food in Hawaii. Their Mac Salad is the best we've had outside Hawaii and we've been to many local food places from Seattle through Portland. Their Teri steak is as good as Alonzo's (Mililani Golf Course). Their Shoyu chicken is tender, fall-off-the-bone and flavorful. The local food staple- the hamburger steak was perfect- with the right amount of gravy and onions. And Yes! They had Tabasco as I have been tired of putting Sriracha on my local food. Highly recommended for any Kanaka away from Hawaii that needs great food.

Great local food here at Roxy's! We will def. be back here. It's always nice to find a good Hawaiian restaurant. I know my daughter will visit from George Fox University when she gets a craving for local food.

Ono food! Nice to have good representation of island food. Lots of tasty often with gluten free options. Tiny dining area, but most people take it to go. Decent size plates. Good value. Don't worry about the line and wait. Not too bad, worth the wait. Aloha customer service! Mahalo Roxy's

I've had Roxy's bookmarked for a while and am pretty happy we were able to try it! My bf got the Kalbi Chicken and I had the sweet garlic chicken. My bf always seems to order the better tasting item... we liked his kalbi chicken more than my chicken. Both were tasty though. The macaroni salad was good too and we don't even like mac salad. Roxy's mac salad is the one we dislike the least? :)

So I started at Nike not too long ago and I've eaten here four/five times. I've had the kalua pig, sweet garlic chicken, kalbi chicken, and teri beef. Goal is try to something different every time I come. So far everything is terrific. The local staff is very friendly and always joking around with the customers. The food is very good and fairly inexpensive and they are always giving out samples while you stand in line. You can even get steamed vegetables if you prefer your plate lunch a little healthier. Be aware that the mac salad might get addictive. I order steamed veggies my first time (good) and mac salad the second time. I haven't gone back to steamed veggies since. If you are looking for an even better deal, the $5 keiki plate (rice/fried noodles with the meat choice) is a great option if you are not a big eater. Just get there before noon because it's gotten packed every time I've gone. Major kanack attach after this.

This place is pretty cute - loud Hawaiian music was playing in the building for lunch so the hubby and I sat outside. We had the chicken teriyaki and it came with a scoop of rice and mac&cheese. It was very tasty!

  • Blake B.

I think Roxy's is housed is an old IHOP or something which initially threw me off but after reading the reviews I had to check it out. And I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was super helpful and offered tastes of the meat before we ordered. I got the Teriyaki plate and it was a lot of meat but I easily devoured the plate. It had a really good flavor. I can see why the line was out the door when we left. Friendly service with good, inexpensive food.

Roxy's is great. This is my go to place when I am craving Hawaiian food. Prices are really good and they give you a large amount of food. My husband loves their mac salad and their Shoyu chicken is delicious.

  • Josh L.

No complaints. Good food, good price, and nothing wrong with the service.

    (5)
  • Emily L.

Good food at a decent price. They're most popular dish is the shoyu chicken, so if you're not sure what to get then give that a try.

  • Steve L.

Hands down the BEST plate lunch in all of Portland. The absolute best 7 bucks you'll ever spend for lunch or dinner. I'm seriously there at least once a week. I like it better than the plate I had in Maui.

    (5)
  • Ben S.

Great food and plenty of it. Don't let the old dinner or drive in Americana look of the building fool you. You won't go hungry here! The staff seem to crank it out at lunchtime too!

  • Jadia E.

Edible, but I've had WAY better Hawaiian bbq. I asked for veggies instead of mac salad, i got some cabbage leaves, that was it, not exactly what i would describe add veggies. I paid extra to have it spicy, there was no heat at all. The location is tiny, very loud, and smoky. They have ONE bottle of siracha in the place. This was our second trip after a lack luster first one, wanted to give it a second try but i think it was actually worse. Hawaiian time or 808 grinds ares way better choices!

You simply can not have bad food at Roxy's. Yes, the Teriyaki Chicken, the Shoyu Chicken, and Galbi chicken are all their best sellers. But for me the sweet garlic chicken is where it's at. I could almost eat that every single day. I hear their Mac Salad is "the bomb," or "f'n awesome," but I don't know due to a poor experience with Mac salad during a summer picnic as a kid. They're good about substituting a salad though so that is a plus. Despite the huge portions, I always finish my plate here. The food is good enough that you just can't stop eating it. I also love the fact that they're now doing SPAM Musubi as occasional specials, but would love to have some other Musubi options for those days I'm not feeling Spiced HAM.

This is the place I've gone to the most since moving to Oregon...and for good reason. Their place is a no fuss, open late, in and out type of restaurant. Gigantic parking lot on the corner-ish of Walker and Cedar Hills. I've come for lunch and dinner and it's always busy but always moving fast. I always have the hardest time deciding what to get but luckily they let you get two different types of meat with your combo plate. Here are my top choices: -sweet garlic chicken (this is the true winner in my book). it's not greasy or heavy or anything. just delicious! -chicken katsu..fried to perfection. it's a Hawaiian staple -loco moco (if youre feeling mad hungry and have time for a nap afterwards). My only gripe is their spam musubi..ive gone a couple of times where they were sold out but I get sad when they do have it and I'm super excited to eat it and then bite into hard rice because they have the musubi chilling on their heating tray all day. rice needs to be soft in order to be a winner in my book. They accept card and there's indoor and outdoor seating. You order at front and they call your name when it's ready. Also provide huge water cups for water.

This place is close by and a go-to for us. Fast friendly service. The food is inexpensive deliscious. Don't expect a fine dining experience and you won't be disappointed

I am super picky about my Hawaiian food and feels that nowhere comes close to rivaling Local Boyz in Corvallis, Oregon--not even establishments in Hawaii. I went over to some friends' for a barbecue and one of my friends brought some macaroni salad from Roxy's Island Grill. Of course, I was really skeptical. I haven't found good macaroni salad in the Portland-Metro area. I was blown away...the macaroni salad was so delicious, taste so similar to the one at my favorite place. My friend's husband told me that the owners at Roxy's is related to the owner of Local Boyz. Really?! Now I must try it out. I was working down the street from Roxy's and decided to go for lunch. The Shoyu chicken is a little different, not as flavorful, but still pretty darn good. I guess when I need my Hawaiian fix, I might have to drive out to Beaverton because it's definitely closer than Corvallis.

  • Mindy C.

Serviceable Hawaiian fare with island drink options. I loved my shoyu chicken and rice. The macaroni salad was better than most I've tried, but I only had a bite to satiate my friends... I don't like mayo and pasta. It's an unfortunate mix. :( I would definitely dine here again and try another dish. Maybe something with pork? The food wasn't blowing my mind but it hit the hunger spot. It was a little bit above fast food and a great alternative to the before-movie feasting of Five Guys.

  • Michelle R.

Food is fabulous. However, you can't call in an order. That's a bummer, but the wait in the restaurant definitely makes you more hungry. Definitely a great find in Portland.

Sweet Garlic Chicken (insert greater than symbol) Shoyu Chicken. Yeap, I said it and will probably get Yelp shanked for this. If you like the famous Zippy's Korean Fried Chicken, then try the (fried) Sweet Garlic Chicken! Most Oregon Hawaiian restaurants offer the standard lunch plates, but Roxy's is the only place that reminded me of the popular Zippy's dish. Their version doesn't have the hint of spice like its Zippy's counterpart, but the texture is similar. Go ahead and try the Shoyu Chicken that everyone raves about (*yawn* to how most of the reviews are mainly focused on this dish) but save room for some fried, sweet, and garlicky goodness! Don't forget to add a side of their teriyaki and sriracha house sauce. Grab it from the front counter, but avoid adding too much since there's already a lot of saucy flavor in all the meat dishes. Mahalo! P.S. Seating is limited so order to-go in case there's no available seats. You can always stand and wait for a table to open up or just take it home.

  • Amy L.

My all time favorite Roxy's location. Service is always great and food is made to order. There may be bit of a wait due to popularity but all worth it. I've tried several things here my favorites being the shoyu chicken, garlic chicken and galbi ribs. Mac salad is one of the best! They have healthier options too always sub veggies for rice. Heard great things about loco moco and samin. Can't wait to try their full menu.

  • Stephanie W.

I'm primarily here to give some love to my favorite Hawaiian joint and I can't wait for the snow/ice to clear so I can go and get a plate lunch. It's all I've been craving while snowed-in, my sister and I go here constantly. So. Freaking. Good. (P.S. My go-to meal is the sweet garlic chicken, shoyu chicken with 2 scoops Mac, 1 scoop rice! For around $7.75, it never disappoints!)

I've tried Roxy's four times now, due to the ravings of friends. The first bite is always amazing and delicious, but this quickly fades as you realize you have a plate of mostly inedible hunks of meat and that the flavor derives entirely from the sauce used. The kalbi chicken was pretty alright, and I was able to finish most of it. I've had the teriyaki burger and while pineapple is my favorite food, it tasted rotten on the burger (which also had some wilted lettuce to accompany it). Most recently I had the sweet garlic chicken, which prompted me to write this as it's sitting next to me mostly uneaten. The fried noodles that accompanied my sweet garlic chicken tasted and smelled rancid, and half the pieces of chicken are rock hard while the other half are fatty and chewy. I don't even know how you acquire parts of chickens this unpalatable. The orange chicken wasn't much better, being a relatively tasty sauce smothering relatively inedible chicken. The steamed rice is adequate, but quickly absorbed the rancid qualities of the fried noodles, so I'm still pretty hungry but I don't think I'll be coming back here again. If you have to eat here, I would order something as simple as possible - the teriyaki chicken is probably a safe bet, and the kalbi chicken was at least mostly enjoyable. It seems like the dishes that have to be served up straight without any batter or frying or anything use the best bits of meat. Based on the other reviews for this place I can only assume this is some moral failing on my part, but if you are at all particular about the quality of your meat I'd advise you to steer clear.

Went here with my girlfriend today for lunch and ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our order. This was after seeing multiple people after me that ordered get served and after talking to their manager who said they would have the food right up.. This was some of the worst service that I have ever had and the fact that they didn't care is upsetting. I will not be going there again and will not recommend them to anyone. They also didn't have most of their menu items available and told us it would be at least 30 minutes for teriyaki chicken if we wanted it..

  • Linda C.

It is delicious. We even waited in the line stretching out the door. The line moved smoothly enough. Once the order is placed, the food came out fairly quick. The portions are huge.

This is the place you want to go for a true authentic taste of the Hawaiian Islands!!The place is almost always pack because the food is that delicious.if you want to Kalua pork you better get there early when they make it,because most definitely will run out it's also super delicious!I skipped the rice and go for a double order of the Mac salad and throw Tabasco on top! The staff is always super friendly and always great reggae music playing! The menu is super simple so you have no trouble deciding and the food comes out rather quickly.indoor and outdoor seating and Hawaiian sodas!!there's even a bowling alley right behind the restaurant!

This is one of our favorite places to get food. We love it there. We moved to Beaverton in November of last year and we've visited roxy's at least 12 times. Always impressed by the fresh hot food. It's always busy in there and the price is amazing. If you want some great food hit up roxy's!

  • Danielle S.

Kahlua Pig Fridays are my favorite! I love Roxy's because the experience is authentic Hawaiian. The walk up counter, creative playlist, sound and smell of the grill, and the meal prepper have been transported from a random strip mall on one of the Islands. My 10 year old is easy to please. The 7 year of is picky. Picky. Picky. Hands down, the teriyaki chicken is his favorite meal in town. Be prepared, it's crazy at lunch, so if you are in a hurry, you might try another day. Seating is limited but the regulars know that and most of us do take out.

So good! But be prepared to pass out after eating any of the combos... in a good way. Awesome!

  • Nicole K.

Best Hawaiian food around. For a very good price. I always love to get the shoyu chicken. They also have their own "Mix" sauce that is teriyaki and sriracha together into one delicious sauce!!! The meal comes with two scoops of rice and one scoop of their mac salad (yum) and then the meat of your choice. Love this place.

    (5)
  • Donya E.

Good food! Good music, laid back with a super friendly staff!! Way better than the chain restaurants in the area. Reasonable price with the HUGE portions makes it seem too good to be true!

This place never disappoints. Always good, always hot. Can never get enough of the mac salad. I'm a huge fan.

Maybe my expectations were too high coming in. My sister and friends have raved about this place for ages so I thought i would try it out. I got the shoyu chicken which is the must have chicken here. But it was just chicken.. nothing special. The macaroni salad was also just alright, it needed an extra kick to it in my opinion. Maybe it was an off day of i just didn't get the right chicken. They also have the split protein option, which lets you choose two different chickens which I may try the next time I come in. Looking forward to an updated review!

The food was more than I hoped for. Yes, its a dive, maybe an old weinerschnitzle, but the staff was awesome. The friends I went with lived on Maui 17 years and they loved it! The Mac salad was awesome and the Kalbi chicken to die for!! I want more! Alas I live in Idaho :(.

  • Megan B.

As long as you're not looking for healthy options, this place is the best. Everything here is amazing. My favorites are Shoyu chicken and Katsu chicken and of course, the mac salad. I always ask to sub one of the scoops of rice for an extra scoop of mac salad because it's so good I can't get enough. I love that Roxy's is simple and super chill. It's always pretty busy but the line goes fast. The only thing that makes me cringe is that they use styrofoam boxes for take-out orders.

Fantastic, authentic food; great price. The Shoyu chicken is a must.

    (5)
  • Christopher K.

Interesting structure & home of an alternative to a chain. The food is Hawaiian and foodcart priced. Simple and honest...worth a try for lunch but maybe not a good place to take a hot date :p

    (4)
  • Brad H.

Friendly staff, great food, huge portions, and near my house. Can't beat that! Their shoyu chicken is amazing, and goes perfectly with the mac salad, a little sauce and siracha. The actual sitting space, as restaurants go, is nothing special. But that's not why you'll go there anyway. Yum!

Great and always consistent food!!!!! Great employees and an awesome atmosphere: ) the location is perfect and there is always parking

This is a very good place overall. One piece of advice don't get the kalbi ribs. It's a waste of money. Mostly fat and you will end up throwing it away.

  • Sophie H.

It's too good ! Every dish here is great!! We try not to go too often but when we do it doesn't disappoint! Great value for money and really nice people working there. We went to maui last year and this place is basically as good! If not better!!

  • Dave S.

Roxy's is very good. The only minus from my point of view is the dine-in decor. The easy solution is to get everything to go. If it's just me I'm fine eating in. The portions are generous, the price is spot on and tastes great. I feel lucky it's within walking distance from my home. The service is typically excellent as well. They're friendly, happy to provide samples if you can't decide and get the order together quickly.

    (4)
  • Liz A.

It was a nice try... But Roxy's island grill falls sadly short of from the local favorites. Gives the familiar tastes, but is too salty and smothered in sauces that just don't hit the mark. btw we waited almost 40minutes for our food and several parties that arrived after us got their orders before us. Anyways, after looking around for so long--I have to say--the place is, at best, shabby, dirty, and limited in seating. No go--Mo betta places elswea!

  • Diana H.

Best Hawaiian food in the area. We ate here so many times and each time the food was delicious. My only complaint is that the Mac salad portion is very small. If you haven't tried this place then you are missing out. Definitely be back!

  • Mark T.

Absolutely love this place. It was the 1st Hawaiian restaurant that I found in Portland. Very authentic. My favorite is the sweet garlic chicken, a must try! I've also had the kalbi ribs, kalbi chicken and the teriyaki beef. All of them are super yummy. The atmosphere in the restaurant is like you just walked into a plate lunch place on Oahu. People are always very nice and upbeat. The lines and wait can sometimes be long, but it's definitely worth the wait.

    (4)
  • Diego E.

Hate to do this to this place as it is one of my favorite places in town, but over the last couple of weeks I've noticed inconsistent portions. Sometimes the meat is like half of the regular amount...maybe getting close to running out and trying to stretch it a little longer? The other thing, I waited 42 minutes for a garlic chicken today. The restaurant went through 2 sets of diners while I waited. Other people who arrived after me also had garlic chicken and got theirs first. No apology or acknowledgement. Hope someone responsible for the running of this place reads this.

  • Megan L.

Um, yum! What a tasty restaurant lives in this shack! I was very surprised by the quality of the food, it was fresh and hot off the grill. The chicken had a lot of flavor packed in, the rice didn't taste like glue, and as noted in other reviews, the mac is super creamy! The staff is super friendly, and I felt welcome and that the employee really wanted to be there. Will definitely be eating here again. 4 stars because they were out of a few dishes at my time of visit.

  • Gonzalo V.

The Food is great and all, but the only down side is that the place is way too small and its not very ventilated. Its kind of hard to eat in there without feeling suffocated. The smoke of the food just plunges in your face and makes your eyes watery. lol but I cant complain about the food.. Everyone seems nice but at the same time is seems like its not very clean.

  • Jen E.

oh sweet baby Jesus... where do I begin??? As I walk up I smell the heavenly scent of grilled mammal. I walk in and it is super casual with a few places to sit. Every single one of the staff that I had contact with was super nice.......EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! The staff looked as if they were having a great time. As I am pondering what I want to try.... I overhear a couple college boys talking about how much they love this place, and already plotting when they would come back. I look around and I see people ..... everyone from a business man with every article of clothing starched to people out running errands to college kids. I order and get it to go as I have a car full of groceries that should be in the fridge instead of waiting for me to get the heavenly food to go. I get home and the food is freaking awesome!!! I was a little weary of the mac as I am used to the Hawaiian mac at other places that looked more plain.... I swear the heavens opened up and sang to me when I took my first bite. seriously people....... this is in no way a fancy place but the food is to die for. I now understand why I was overhearing people plotting their next visits even before getting the food for their current orders..... I am already plotting my next adventure there and what I will get.

Sadly I had to drop a star for Roxy's as I just wasn't impressed this last time around. The rice seemed a bit dry and even the once delicious mac salad seemed off. Perhaps a different recipe? My Kalbi chicken was OK. Half was so burnt to a crisp I couldn't eat it. The other half was fairly juicy and had some good flavor. The prices still the same and reasonable but I feel as though you now almost receive less food? Perhaps it was just an off day or my to-go order. I love the staff here they are always friendly and prompt but the food is not enough to bring me back any time soon.

love this place! great food, big portions, friendly staff keeping it real. love the macaroni salad and kalbi chicken. always busy, but worth the wait!

  • Katie G.

This place is so fun! Definitely has an island vibe and the food is incredible! A lot of times we pick up since there isn't a ton of seating. The teriyaki chicken is great but my favorite is the garlic chicken. I also like to sub their vegetable mix for the Mac salad so I can get a few greens into my meal.

  • Jeremy R.

Good, greasy Hawaiian comfort food. If that's what you're in the mood for, you'll enjoy this place. Great macaroni salad, loved the shoyu chicken, but the kahlua pig was WAY too salty.

    (3)
  • Sean A.

Super friendly staff! Generous portions! Kalbi was Ono, shoyu chicken, awesome. If you've got the time, you must try this place. Easily some of the best hawaiian food I've had since I've left the island. The place is small, so plan on waiting for a table and taking some time. But really, good food is always worth it. Kid friendly. What more can I say? I'm sure you'll find me there if we are craving hawaiian again!

  • Adriana R.

What happened Roxys? The food use to be good here and last time I went in it taste bland and the macaroni salad was disgusting. Also, the customer service there sucks. The lady is rude and no one told me I was going to have to wait 25 minutes for my order. Or else I would've ordered something different since I was extremely hungry and in a hurry.

    (1)
  • Heidi S.

Like the McDonald of Hawaiian food...same menu and less of the flavor compared to every Hawaiian joint I've been. The staff was overworked and inattentive. I waited 15 minutes for my food. Never again!

You know how sometimes you just *know* that the other reviewers are conspiring somehow to inflate results? Maybe they're all paid employees...or part of a greater network of rogue reviewers who intend to undermine the Yelp community by posting ridiculous over-the-top reviews. Well, I'm about to blow the lid off this one. There's no way a little hut in the middle of the parking lot of a bowling alley that serves Hawaiian food can be THAT good. I'm going to try it now just to provide the counterpoint that this business so obviously needs. [15 minutes later] Oh. Yeah, no, that's all correct. This place is #!&$ing fantastic.

  • Tanya W.

I'm surprised to see this place is so highly ranked. I went there for the first time, and have always heard it was great food. The place looks VERY filthy and dark. It was packed, so I was expecting great food. It was not just bad, but awful. I ordered the chicken and pork. My chicken was so charred that it was dust in my mouth. The pork was below average in flavor and dry. As I waited for my food there was a woman who worked in their kitchen area shouting rude comments at the employees. Things like, "Next time you just tell them no! We don't split orders. Don't do that again." She had an obnoxious attitude towards the staff and it was hard not to just walk out. I would not suggest eating here. I looked for a health inspection rating and none was listed. I don't believe they would pass an inspection. If the sight of the place doesn't scare you off, try the food and you'll never go back. Totally gross.

Pros: Awesome food Hawaiian food done right Cheap eats Friendly staff Good selection on menu Decent parking Cons: Long lines Food outages Extended wait times for food if busy I love this place. I will be coming here whenever I can as long as I live here.

I've tried many different Hawaiian restaurants in Oregon and this one is the best! Hubby and I had never been there before and when we walked in we had no clue what to order, they gave us samples of their freshly made pulled pork and shredded chicken. Both excellent! we got a combo of both with macaroni salad and a drink. For 9 dollars we got a heaping amount of food. There is enough left over for 2 more meals! Did not take long at all for our food and people there are very friendly, can't wait to go back again.

  • Rick L.

There's a very good reason why there was a big line when they opened today. The food is great! Roxy's Shoyu Chicken with two scoops of Mac salad and one scoop rice is one of my favorite meals! The rice is best eaten from the bottom up since that's where all the shoyu juices are.

Roxy's is our go to Hawaiian lunch spot. Everything is always so flavorful - shoyu chicken, kalbi chicken, take your pick. If you want the kalua pork, make sure you show up early - it runs out fast, and we are still hoping to try it! What's also great is the option of substituting steamed veggies for the rice. Makes for a no guilt lunch!

It gets very crowded here but that likely because it's some tasty eats and finding decent Hawaiian style food can be tricky although it really shouldn't be. Just get me some Kalbi with a scoop of rice and mac salad please. These guys can do that and for us veg lovers they have veggie side options too to pad all that tasty meat carb and fat that you'll be sending down the pipes. Prices are fair and they have specials too which seem to rotate from the large menu. The girl that rang me up was super nice too, especially considering the line she was dealing with.

My husband raved about this place for good cheap eats. When he finally took me there I was disappointed at their very limited menu. It was SO hard to choose that I couldn't make up mind (sense the sarcasm). I ended up choosing the chicken katsu with Mac and rice. When I got my food it was of decent portion. First test was the Mac salad, that didn't make the cut and I gave it to husband to finish off. Next was the chicken katsu, I dipped a piece into the katsu sauce & the sauce tasted quite familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then I realized it was BOTTLED Kikkoman katsu sauce!! This place doesn't even make their own katsu sauce!! Needless to say I've never gone back. They're prices is the only positive I have for this place.

This place is amazing and fun to eat at. Esp if you like reggae music. The garlic chicken is just a good as the famous shoy-yu!! You can have them cook anything 'spicy' for you- my fave...

My favorite Hawaiian food joint! I get half shoyu chicken and half garlic chicken and it always hits the spot. Good portions, good vibe, love the mac salad too!

I got update my rating to a 4 from a 5. I love coming to this place, but sometimes there open, sometimes there not during normal business hours. Nothing better then driving through traffic in the awesome Cedar Hills area with a stop light every 15 feet to find out the place is closed! Could i call? Yep, tried that before. Goes to there catering answer machine even when they are open, so that never works. Will push back to 5 stars when this place goes 24 hours - 7 days a week! =p

This place is bomb...love everything they serve up. The atmosphere is relaxed and food is ono! Plus, the people who work/own the place are always nice. Not sure what you want? Ask for samples!!! Awesome place.

You don't know good "hawaiian food" (let alone good food) if this is what you consider "good hawaiian food". You want good hawaiian food you get a ticket to oahu but if you can't opt for that option I suggest buying a ticket to hawaiian drive inn at south san francisco CA, and if you can't opt for those save your money or make it at home cause at almost 10$ a plate your getting ripped off... Typical rice plate style food yet for some reason the locals think it's a revolution in dining and to die for...maybe cause I eat rice everyday and people around here only seldom accommodate their food with rice; either way, this is mediocre franchise food. Not only that but the place is packed like Chipotle...I think theres a correlation here...for the record chipotle is not good food (why the F*ck would you go there when there are tons of locally legit mexican places in the area)... Not only is the place packed but they're slow. I know busy is busy but y'all certainly don't know how to coordinate fast enough. I waited 15 minutes before saying something and when I try my best to politely ask if they forgot my order i get attitude...oh I'm sorry your busy? The F*ck!? come to my job and I treat you like a person with respect all while doing my dam job cause it's my dam job. People swear by the "shoyu chicken"...I ate it...tasted like I coulda bought frozen chicken at trader joes and woulda had a better time (for the record the orange chicken at TJ's is lightyears ahead of this "shoyu" chicken)...wtf is shoyu chicken? wtf makes this chicken "shoyu"...Sh*t was borderline burnt...it wasn't horrible, but it was far from good. "kalbi" chicken is meh...tastes like your typical hyped "teriyaki" chicken that everyone always orders but you ain't fooling me.. "noodles"...meh..panda express got better chow mien and that isn't saying much... The "mac"...bland as F*ck...reminded me of 2nd grade macaroni and glue... The rice..imo too moist...you guys put too much water in your cooker..good rice to me is fluffy, light, airy, and lightly coated..your rice is thick and starchy and doesn't have love in it...i could taste it lol Man if this is what is passing as 5 star "hawaiian" were f*cked...trust me..there's better out there..

This place is fantastic! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is fairly authentic. Either Bob Marley or some kind of island music is playing. Now about the food. For a measly seven or eight dollars you get a plate piled with food. Their staple is the shoyu chicken and they usually have daily specials like kaluha or adobo pork. If you have never been here then your life is incomplete!

On of the best Hawaiian food places for me... And there's only 2 in Portland, in my opinion! Loco Moco, Loco Moco, Loco Moco... I mean, YUMMMMMMMMM. I seriously love this place, I just wish it was closer to me! The portions are huge, too. I can never finish!!

Amazing food and spirit of the islands. Great no frills Hawaiian plate lunch. The mac salad is on point. The shoyu and sweet garlic are my go-to's. The people are always nice and warm. It has a Hanalei midnight (8pm) closing time is my only gripe.

  • Christine W.

This little shack of a place is surprisingly tasty. It's different from the typical L&L's or Hawaiian fast food places. I've been here twice and both times I've ordered dishes that I'd recommend friends to eat. Must Try - The Shoyu Chicken has tender, shredded chicken covered in sweet soy sauce and served with that yummy macaroni noodle salad. - The Garlic Chicken has fried, semi-sweet, chicken that is tender and needless of any sauces. It has the yummy macaroni noodle salad. - Spam Musubi has spam surrounded by rice and wrapped all in seaweed. Their spam musubi is sweet, just like the shoyu chicken. It was delicious and the perfect snack size for just $2!

I went here based on the reviews and felt like they didn't really live up to my expectations. They were okay, but kinda dirty and had run out of a lot their menu items. I'll be checking out other places next time I am craving Hawaiian.

The only thing missing from this Hawaiian experience is the gorgeous tropical paradise. Every delicious bite transported me back to our honeymoon in Maui where we ate many mixed plate lunches just like this. I had the teriyaki chicken & my hubby had the kalbi chicken. It was a meal without conversation...only smacking lips & yummy noises could be heard from our table. Order the extra side of mac salad. You won't regret it. Order it spicy if you like a little kick like I do. You cannot get a more delicious or satisfying meal for $7.

I love their food. Used to get it once a week or so when I worked at the Murray Scholls 5 Guys best customer service and always made fresh food just food on the spot for me and my co workers who ordered from there. Never got their old Mac or rice. Was always the fresh stuff

Nice place to pick up a quick bite to eat. I've been here twice and both times food was good. Most recent trip I ordered the plate meal ($7) which comes with a choice of meat, two scoops of rice, and one scoop of mac salad. I chose half teriyaki chicken and half kalbi chicken. Both were delicious especially when mixed with some sriracha sauce. I also swapped the mac salad for veggies which made me feel a little healthier.

Grew up on the islands but now call St Louis home. I was in town for job interviews and visiting friends and they took me straight to Roxy's- obviously they know me well. First the place was extremely busy for a Sunday evening. Went to the counter to order beef kalbi and they were sold out, which was the end of the world to me. Nah, I just got the chicken kalbi instead, got noodles instead of rice, with the mac salad of course. The food was ono, four stars because what I hear is that they run out of some selection at times but overall I couldn't really complain. btw- That mac salad was very delicious maybe because I haven't ate amazing mac salad in awhile but it I kinda wanna bring buckets with me back to the Midwest. That is all... Go to Roxy's and enjoy.

Great food and great staff! Roxy's is counter-style service with room to sit down at several tables. This makes for done very quick service. There is a variety of choices without being overwhelming, you can come in several times without eating the same thing. On to the food. I had the Kalbi Chicken and my boyfriend had the Shoyu Chicken. Both were great! The chicken was tender, the rice was perfect, and the macaroni salad was done of the best that I've had in a while! And with only one thing that isn't under $10, you get a lot of bang for your bucks. I'll be coming in again for sure!

I have eaten here 5+ times and have nothing bad to say about this place. Sure, if you have a short lunch period around noon you won't have time for the line... But honestly, the line is there because this place is THAT good.

Some of the best Teriyaki Chicken in all of Portland! We drive from SE Portland just to eat here. It's always busy (which is a good thing) but service is still quick. Friendly people, too.

  • Savannah K.

The chicken was really good but the only sides are white rice and macaroni salad. No veggies to go with our food or anything. I just didn't feel like it was a full meal... Just lots of meat and white rice. Everyone there was really friendly ave I liked the atmosphere but the food left us wanting more variety.

I use to eat here all the time when i first moved to Beaverton. Over the past few months i feel like they have changed. the chicken just doesn't taste the same. I'm so sad because i still crave authentic Hawaiian chicken. It's still better then the other place across town, OR the 808 truck.

Friendly staff, good food, generous portions. The chicken dishes are great and you can get extra cabbage instead of rice and mac salad

The kalua pork plate with the mac salad is always worth the wait and the money when I go to Roxy's. The staff is always nice and friendly when I've been in to eat too. Now I know to plan my lunch a little later during the week so the line out the door isn't so long.

There are two reasons I absolutely love me some Roxy's: Crackeroni salad and Teri Chicken. While I do think that they've slightly altered their mac salad recipe over the last 3ish months, I'd still gladly swim in a vat of it.......errr....I mean, eat it with every meal. Their teri chicken (aka teriyaki) is so moist and bursting with flavor, I would head over there right now, despite not being anywhere near hungry, if they weren't closing in less than 60 seconds. I've tried just about all their entrees, and I've decided that their simple teri chicken is my heavenly dish of choice. They've also started having spam musabi on special from time to time - if I was in love with them before they offered it, I became a life-long die hard fanatic after. Their portions are huge, their prices are more than fair. I can spend $7.50 for an entire plate "lunch" - an extra $0.50 to substitute a scoop of rice for a second scoop of crackeroni salad - and have enough for lunch with plenty of leftovers for dinner. Unless my husband beats me to it! No, they're not fancy. No, you don't go here for a romantic dinner - it's loud. The place is small, it's sometimes hard to find a place to sit during busy times, and the building is nowhere near new or spotless. But if you want some fabulous food, look past the rough exterior and prep your taste buds for a good time. I LOVE ROXY'S!

They finally take credit cards!!!!!!!!! Seriously cheap and filling and delicious. They are super nice and service is always quick. The mac salad is awesome! I love the katsu because it's so crunchy but everything I've had is pretty much fantastic. The only item I didn't love was the fried noodles, it was a little too greasy and lacking in flavor. They have a nice selection of tropical sodas that pair nicely with the food. I really appreciate that there are lots of sauces to customize your meal - shoyu, soy, sriracha, etc.

  • Jordan G.

You cannot go wrong here. The Loco Moco, the Orange chicken, the burgers, the Shoyu...and oh damn...that MAC SALAD! The staff is awesome, the food is amazing. Great prices and great for catering groups. Take the time to work through the menu here...you won't be sorry :)

Open till 8pm out of food by 7pm... if your lucky.... Go for lunch but flip a coin on dinner. I have even seen them out of the Shoyu chicken by lunch before too. My last 3 times I have visited they ran out of food. Its just no way to treat customers. Change your hours and close at 3pm if you don't want to put in the work and prepare enough food. Staff seems more interested in smoking cigs out back than making happy customers. I signed up on yelp just to give them a bad review. Yesss... its that bad.

Lemme start off by addressing all the folks dishing on this place "from da islands." If you are from Hawaii and have nothing good to say about a Hawaiian restaurant in Beaverton, Oregon, then you should have stayed on da islands. You're lucky there's a Hawaiian restaurant in this part of the world AT ALL. Nobody moves to Alaska to complain about the tacos. Roxy's is a great, simple place to get a lunch that tastes good and is easy on the pocketbook. Their chicken is actual chicken with chunks that are unidentifiably butchered. Again, if you want safe looking chicken with no mystery bits, I'd be happy to steer to a few establishments that offer McNuggets. I always get the sweet garlic chicken, and it has never failed to impress. Bottom line, take this grill at face value. It's not fine dining. For Christ's sake, there's a sign over the door that says "Roxy's is nothing fancy."

Before going to a friend's house for a double feature horror night, food was to be had. Roxy's was suggested since it was close by and I have yet to go. The place is pretty tiny and was already packed by the 6 PM hour. Luckily after ordering, we got a small table for us 2. The food arrived shortly after we seated and we dug in. I didn't get why my friend ordered an extra side of Mac Salad at first. When I tried my first bite, instantly I realized this was probably the best Mac Salad I ever had in my life. I immediately asked for the seconds after I finished my portion. The chicken with extra spicy sauce is indeed spicy. I went back and forth between the mac and chicken alternating hot to cool. With a little more better seating and maybe late night hours would be the best spot Cedar Hills has to offer. I doubt anywhere else in terms of Hawaiian food can compete with the Mac Salad. Next time I'm going, extra side of Mac please!!!!!

Disclaimer- i lived in Hawaii for a little while (Kauai to be specific). This place is probably the plate lucnh in town... At least of the 5 or 6 places I've visited... There are some things I wish they had, but they aren't popular mainland-friendly foods. Maybe some day I can get some chicken adobo. (please... pretty please? And yes, I know it's Filipino, but when you live in the islands, origin is relative.) Mac salad is THE test of local food. Theirs is ok. Not great, but not the worst. Some days it's better than others. Some days, it's a bit too much mayo. BUT, it's better than any other mac salad I've had back here. It's just like anything, everyone has their own way. They make ono shoyu chicken. Add a little of their half and half sauce (get it yourself from the counter in the squeeze bottle... teri sauce and sri racha.) and it's bad ass. They also make a pretty good teri burger. Those are my go-to plates. Always good music, always a good vibe. Staff is consistent and friendly. Sometimes they have concert tickets for local or reggae music shows, so keep an eye on the posters on the window. We will be here at least once a month. As long as they are open. Oh, as an aside- my plate lunch is enough food for me to have for two lunches. Serving size is plenty!

This place has an awesome atmosphere, good service and epic food. The menu is full of Hawaiian yummys. The macaroni salad is to die for. The line is out the door during lunch rush so if you're in a hurry, don't go here.

I love, love love this place. I've been here a couple times and the staff is always super nice and really helpful. The food is great the only downside is sometimes the macaroni on the side but usually fantasma.

  • Ana B.

I judged this place all wrong. Just all, all wrong. Yes, the burger will leave you with an overwhelming sense of eaters remorse, that hasn't changed. I just shouldn't have written the whole menu off because of this. Everything non-burger in wonderful! I'm a big fan of the Kalbi and the Teriyaki chicken. Coming with veggies would be a plus.Something about just carbs and meat always makes me feel a bit guilty, but not guilty enough not to come back. They also have a macaroni salad that I can never say no to. Damn them! Just don't come here expecting a healthy well balanced meal. Since the opening over a year ago they have had this sign that says " Temporarily Cash Only". I think it's time to take the sign down and just embrace the fact that you're never going to take cards, that simple. Now, here is where my review takes a turn for the Portlandia. You've been warned. No brown rice option...come on now! My biggest Pet Peeve. Weather you're staying or leaving, everything comes on disposable dishware. Right down to the forks and knifes, everything is throw away. Very wasteful, shame on you. ...and lets face it I know that stuff isn't organic or locally farmed. (giggle)

Best Mac salad ever!!!! I'm a huge fan of Hawaiian style Macaroni salad and I'm always excited to find a super ridiculous delicious mac salad. Roxy's Island Grill gave me just that. Not only the mac salad, but seems like everything else here are tasty and affordable. Their lunch plates (two scoops of rice, an entree, and mac salad) are in the range of $7.50-$8.75. I was trying to be different and tried to stay away from my usual Hawaiian food indulgence (ribs, pork, or loco moco) so instead I ordered one of their Kine plates (one entree and steamed rice or fried noodles) for $5. I chose the Kalbi Chicken with fried noodles and paid an extra $1 for the Mac Salad. Jesse got the Loco Moco plate (he made the right choice). I like my food, but I rather order something else next time. Nothing wrong with my food, but I think for full Hawaiian experience, their Loco Moco is a much better option. Mac salad tho was heaveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnly creamy and tasty. They have a few outside tables with benches which are great for group or family. They even brought our food outside. Service here was excellent. They were very nice and chill which we like. We will be back for more Hawaiian lovin. Mahalo, Roxy!

Food is good and Josh is awesome along with a few other staff. Only problem is that the owners can't run the business. They are always short of items (short ribs, saimin, shoyu, etc). They also never pick up their phone. :(

  • Darvish B.

I just had Roxy's today for dinner and I'm returning the star I took back a month ago. The kalbi chicken is the way to go. The brotha working the counter gave me loads and loads of chicken. I wonder if the boss saw herself she would be mad for hooking it up. Watch out, its still cash only even though there's a sign that says accepting credit cards soon. Oh yea and that special hot sauce they got is the shizznitzzz. Even though I know its just their teri sauce with Sriracha mixed together. It hits the spot.

Wow, this is the type of place that combines so much deliciousness in a single portion at such a great price that it brought be back again the next day and the day after. Day 1 Sho-yu chicken: This appears to be the all-time favorite, so I went for it. You have already read it on all the reviews... huge portions, juicy, sweet, delicious! Day 2 Kalbi chicken: This also appears to be an all-time favorite. This one isn't sweet, it's grilled chicken but has the same huge portions and juicy delicious chicken! Day 3 Orange chicken: I'm not a huge fan of orange chicken, but given the record-track on the past two days, I wanted to check try something different. It was spectacular! Fireworks were going off in my mouth. The outer layer was a paper thin crust that surrounded the chicken and the orange tangy breading which melted in my mouth. After that third meal I drove to a rehab and admitted myself before a severe addiction could develop. I have since been a few days without Roxy's, but I have a feeling it won't be long before I go back to get my fix. Deleeeeesh-ous!

Freaking cheap food and awesome huge portions of meat and their macaroni salad is the bomb. I've had the shoyu chicken, kalbi chicken, saimin noodle soup and loco moco. Everything there is delicious. The food is made fast and service is fast. Free refills on soda!

  • Perry H.

Southwest Portland? Not by about 6 miles... Anyway, the shoyu chicken rocks. Good food, fast, at a good price, the mac salad is worth it all by itself. The space is small, so if you go during lunch hour on a cold rainy day, be prepared to do take out.

So, I tried this place on my first night after moving to Portland. A friend had highly recommended it for being the closest place to get Hawaiian food. After two visits to get an accurate sampling of the menu, I'd have to say that while the food here tops places like L&L's, it can't compete with Bamboo Grove or Noho's in the Portland area for taste and quality. I would go back to this place for the quick friendly staff, "in your neighborhood" closeness, and good comfort food. But if you've got the time there are better Hawaiian food places if you take the time to drive to Portland.

  • Lin N.

I have been thinking about this place ever since my first visit last week. I had the Sho-Yu chicken, which was delicious. My S.O. had the Kalbi wings and thought they were pretty good too. With $4 bento, $6 lunch, and something else for $3 (i dont know what, i wasnt focused on it) this place is not only cheap, but it is also comfortable and the staff were really friendly. I havent been to Hawaii, so I cant say if this is authentic or not. But I can say it's damn good and a best bet for lunch in Beaverton.

  • Chris L.

I'm averaging this one out between two dishes. So I came in on a Saturday afternoon on the way back from Portland, and score! they had Kalua Pork on a non-Tuesday/Friday! The staff is super friendly, and will help out with special requests on your plate. (regarding the mac salad:rice -wink wink- ) BUT..... it was SO SALTY. It was like having the most comfortable bed ever, only it was at the bottom of the sea. The pork had a nice smoky flavor, but the saltiness was just overpowering. I had to eat 2-3parts rice per 1 part pork just to survive it! maybe it was hold over from the day before and had been soaking in the juices. I liked the mac salad, as it was very fresh, but it was a little on the blander side from what I'm used to. Also tried the Loco moco, which I could totally see myself abusing far too often. The beef patty was a thick, juicy, and a bit heartier that the typical frozen patties you see at other Hawaiian places. The gravy went well with the more natural taste of the patty. This dish came out great. Next time: shoyu chicken + fried noodles **if you see the Kalua pork on any day you drop in, ask for a taste first! check your saltiness at the door!

Top notch! There are better Hawaiian places in PDX but nothing in Beaverton. I had the Sho-Yu chicken, it was sweet and the chicken was cooked just right. The Mac salad is awesome. The portions are huge. The price was right. Ill be back.

Just as an aside, the day after writing this review, my friend who went with me for dinner the night before stopped by the next day and got take-out teriyaki chicken because she was so jonesing for it. Roxy's Island Grill has not only a new fan, but probably more accurately an obsessed fan. According to my friend, "I can't stop thinking about Roxy's Island Grill."

First time here and I'm impressed. Since the Sho-yu Chicken is there #1 ordered item, I bit. Got to say this is the best Hawaiian I've had including when I was on the island of Hawaii. Bookmarked and I shall return!

For pre cooking their meals (food is in tubs similar to Subway in the front) their service is very slow. They have high school kids who don't know business so they're pretty lacking on who orders first and over looking orders. The meat can be good depending on how old the meat is in the containers. Sometimes the meat is very black which is an indication they don't clean the grill too often (that's nasty for real). When the food is fresh and hot it's great. Not bad but not great.

My daughter was begging for shoyu chicken all week. So I took her in there two nights before Christmas. Uh oh. They were out of almost everything, including (gasp)... shoyu! OH NO! We got Orange Chicken instead, for five people. They packaged it family style for us, which I like. Rice in two containers, mac salad in another, chicken in two more... you know what? It was DELICIOUS! Big relief. I didn't think my nine year old would survive this. She did. The chicken was crisp, nicely sauced, had real pieces of orange zest in it I think, not too sweet, just right. Everyone ate it and was happy. My brother in law, who had never had Hawaiian and thought the mac salad was weird until he bit into it... then he stole someone else's on top of his own. That good. Next time, maybe we will go a little earlier, and not on a Friday. Maybe I shouldn't have yelped it so nicely??? Sharing is tough people!

Full redemption! From 2 to 5 stars!! As I said in a previous review I live very close Roxy's I drove by today at lunch and see a line out the door think to myself that it's got to be good if so many people show it love. Hit the line the same time as a cop, 2 Nike guys, a punk couple, and a subie mechanic.... Good company to keep when out comes to yummy cheep eats. The menu is clear, the food prep line is clean and busy, the and Bob Marley blasting on the speakers. All good signs pointing to delicious food. I kept it simple today, teriyaki chik plate lunch. Portions are large and the price is right. There's a nice char on the chicken, it's tender and the rice is sweet which is not something I'm used to, but I like. The Mac salad is great, I usually like more bite of garlic but again Roxy's trends toward sweet. It's all got a great flavor and is very juicy. The place is clean, not a dust bunny in site, the outdoor seatig area looks clean and the rail has been replaced recently. I would feel happy to bring my family here again. I was wrong before! Roxy's I'm sorry, I hope to be back again soon!!

I've wanted to try this place for a long time and finally I did. This place reminds me exactly like some of the places I've seen in Hawaii, once you get away from the tourist areas. It's a nice cheap, filling meal. I went with the small meal, so didn't get the mac salad, but for lunch, it was filling and delicious. I'm sure I'll be back.

The place doesn't look like much but the food is great. Genuine Hawaiian. Best mac salad in the area.

One Word " AWESOME" do your taste buds a favor, and treat them like a king....everything is awesome at Roxy's. If you are not sure of what you want then ask for a sample and the staff will gladly give you a sample of what you might like or want. The staff is always friendly and welcome to greet you as you come in. Yes it may be a small place....but it is bursting with great taste, awesome sides, and always has that Island flair and enviorment. Nothing but the best food and always great food is served here, no one leave's with out a smile on their face and a full belly of OMG and awesome food left to take home, never a complaint. My wife and I drive from Happy Valley every two week's just so we can have the island's back and we always say OMG that was awesome food , why go get southern bb-q when Roxy's blow's all others out of the water...try their fish as well, and any other traditional dishes they offer and you will see and taste for yourself that this is the TOP of the World for all of the Island fair. Out of a must eat place in Portland Metro...this is a 10 on the OMG meter and the price is awesome two just about 20.00 dollars for a huge plate of food and drinks for two people, and that is two kinds of meat on one's plate.....So stop reading this review and drive on down to Roxy's and do yourself a flavor .....Oh favor and enjoy some Awesome food and at a great price.....Once again were to go ...Oh I know ROXY's. Much love and peace to all the staff and people who work their love to serve awesome food to loyal customers. ALOHA

After going to work for a bit on my day off and meeting up with Susan in Beaverton we decided to try #3 on our Hawaiian list of places to try Based on the good reviews we thought they should on par with Noho's and Ohana's. I guess my first disappointment was the lack of room at the front where you order. It was lunch and busy. My second was the noise level. These are both fine for a fast food joint but a little off putting for a sit down and relaxed lunch. It is probably best to sit outside or take it to go. We ordered the Loco Moco and Kalbi grilled chicken. The food came out quickly but on first glance I noticed no steam coming off the grilled Kalb chicken. After trying it and confirming my fears it was room temperature, My personal number #1 pet peeve. We took it back the crowded counter and told them it was lukewarm. They fixed it and brought it out shortly. Almost too shortly. Microwave perhaps. Food was ok but nothing too special and Noho's has them beat on the Macaroni salad. On to the next one.

Four stars for food. I usually get the plate with half shoyu chicken and half garlic chicken. The garlic chicken is fried and the shoyu is shredded. The macaroni salad is super good. They have bottles of sauce at the counter. Recommend the teriyaki-ish brown sauce for the rice and/or chicken. Staff are always friendly. Great hole-in-the-wall place. Other reviewers comment on the sticky tables and what not. If you're coming here for ambiance, you won't find it. Just delicious Hawaiian food.

Great food, friendly staff, quick and easy, Bob Marley posters. What else could you want from your Hawaiian food joint?

This place is a little messy and rundown but the food makes up for it. I would suggest starting with the Shoyu chicken, and eat it while hot. Once it gets cold it dries up a bit.

I've been to several Hawaiian joints around Portland, but somehow I passed this one up. Shame on me for discovering only recently. The food was great! I played it safe with a simple teriyaki plate and I was really satisfied with what I got. The chicken was fresh, the macaroni salad was fantastic and they gave me a healthy portion for a great price. The cook even complimented my tiger shirt. I was really impressed with the service and the food. I will be back here for sure!

I'm from Hawaii so anywhere that can satisfy the comfort-food craving for local kine grinds makes me a happy wahine. Roxy's delivers. Portions are definitely island style, I usually go for the Keiki-size and always have leftovers. Shoyu chicken is so Ono and they do kalbi ribs like home. Sometimes there is a lau lau special and those are always pretty awesome, so is the kalua pig. We always go for a few spam musubis to take home for later and their hawaiian sun drink selection is extensive. If you're familiar with hawaiian fare and you don't find the mainland L&L to be very impressive you will love Roxy's. Now I'm hungry.

This place can best be described as a dive. And on a cold day when they can't open the windows, you might choke on the smoke. I'm not sure if the food is truly Hawaiian since I don't associate Mac and Cheese with Hawaii, but it most certainly was good. What you get for $7.00 is amazing, and when you taste the chicken, you'll know why it's sometimes smokey in the place. Altogether, it's a yummy experience albeit a bit unusual.

ya man, the Jamaican love is part of what you will find at Roxy's.... The place is great, the food portions are huge, the taste is really, really good. I agree it's authentic and I love the comment: "In Hawaii, we don't eat until we're full, we eat until we're tired". Very friendly, very busy staff, the place was packed when I went but I didn't have any problem finding a place to sit before my food was ready. It was delicious. the music was upbeat. the setting wasn't fancy or overly comfortable - both a plus (keep people from staying longer than they have to and make space available to others) and a minus (it's not terribly comfortable).

I've only eaten here once. It was my first time eating Hawaiian food. It was fantastic. I took one star off because the service was a little slow, it was worth the wait though. Edit: I ate here a second time and the service was great, the restaurant was busy and the food was outstanding. Upping to 5 stars. Edit 2: I've eaten here many times, and it never gets old and is always delicious. The staff are friendly and the food comes up quick most of the time. One of my favorite places in the Portland area when I visit. Edit 3: I was back in Beaverton this week and Roxy's didn't disappoint. The food is still amazing and the everyone working there has a smile on their face and are having a good time. I wish i could give this place more than 5 stars.

Ahhhhh, what happened to you Roxy's?! I first fell in love with their Kalua Pork two years ago. I've been a frequent flyer afterwards, trying out their other dishes as well. I've come to the conclusion of the following: PERKS: + BEST MAC SALAD EVER! + Shoyu Chicken is so sweet and delish. I think you can't go wrong ordering this over here + Spare ribs is pretty decent. Not the best I've had, nor the worst. + Chicken Katsu - my feelings are the same as the spare ribs. DIRTS: - Kalua Pork (it's sometimes a hit or miss) But lately it's been more of a miss. The first time I had the dish, it was so perfect! But as time went by, the quality diminished. I remember ordering the plate one time and the meat was painfully, uber SALTY, I couldn't bear to eat the thing (even if I ate it with rice to drain out the sodium). It was that bad. I thought it was an off day, but the dish was like that after other visits. - Loco Moco was kinda over-cooked. It has happened a couple of times. The gravy is delish but the meat just doesn't do justice. FYI: *Closed Sun & Mon *Accept Cash & CC (Visa & MC) *You can call in your order to-go *Plate lunches come with 2 scoops of rice & 1 scoop of mac salad *Parking lot is shared with bowling alley If I'm in the area and craving Roxy's, I end up getting a mac salad and Shoyu Chicken. I always hesitate ordering the Kalua Pork after having so many failed experiences. It pains me to give this place 3 stars, but I think it's a decent place overall (if you ignore the Kalua Pork & Loco Moco).

I am new to the area and my boyfriend and I wanted to drive around and find a new place we've never had before. We came upon Roxie's, didn't look fancy (hole in the wall places are usually our favorite). We walked in a saw a line which doesn't bother us, we like seeing a ton of people here because it should mean it's delicious. We looked through the menu and didn't know what anything was besides teriyaki, heard almost every single person get the "shoyu" so I ordered shoyu and kalbi I believe it was and he got shoyu and spicy teriyaki. We both got one scoop rice and noodle and the famous Mac salad. O. M. G. it was mouth orgasmic! The shoyu was so tender and juicy, it was nothing like I have ever had before. The rice wasn't over cooked and the noodles were out of this world too! I usually can't find tasty noodles but these were amazing and then came the incredible Mac salad.. I don't even know how to explain it. The kalbi was good and the spicy teriyaki was better. Definitely will be getting the shoyu everytime! This place should be on man vs food! Thank you for making such delicious food with decent prices! That whole meal which I only ate half plus two juices was only $10!!! you will be seeing us a lot!

Absolutely delicious! I have never eaten here and had a bad experience. The Mac salad is probably the holy grail. I would fill a swimming pool and just wallow in it. Sho-yu chicken is the shiznit! I highly recommend eating here. I bring all of my clients here when they come in to town.

My husband and I tried this place on a whim over a year ago and fell in love with it instantly! After visiting Hawaii this year, we were excited to learn this place does offer authentic plate lunches! The food is spectacular, you should definitely give it a try! :)

That's some good food! Staff was so very friendly and food was awesome! Kids and grown-ups loved it! We got the chicken teriyaki and the chicken Shoyu... YUM! Even the Mac salad was delish! It went so well with all of the items ordered! Will definitely be back for more!

On 4/28/14 I went in to the Cedar Hills location after traveling an hour and a half by bus to eat there. The lady at the counter was on such a power trip I ended walking out. So much for the spirit of aloha! Just because I'm I'm seemingly haole doesn't mean anything. I'm half hapa haole and I've probably lived in Hawaii longer than you have. Get off your high horse Tita and welcome your customers with love or stay at home with that attitude!

I have eaten at Roxy's since I moved here and it is still on of my favorite places in portland! sometimes the food isn't up to par as some of the reviews have said but I almost always had awesome food here! must try is the Sho-yu chicken. Getting your food does take a little time but it is worth it.

  • Diana U.

I cannot believe how delicious this Roxy's is! When we first got there, it was really full and not the fanciest. However, as soon as we took one bite of our dishes (teriyaki and kalbi chicken) we knew this was it. It is hands down the best Hawaiian food I have tasted here. I can't wait to eat there again!

  • Mark L.

Only my second time here. Can't beat what you get for $7. Most reviews comment about the sho-yu chicken, so I decided to try that out this time. The chicken came out hot and was super tender and flavorful. The macaroni salad that everyone raves about was also legit. This place is a solid 3.5 stars, but I'll round up cause I'm a fatty and I like the 2 scoops of rice that your plate comes with.

Just one of the best food gems anywhere let alone the city. The shoyu chicken is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life.

This place is AWESOME! Such ONO food!! The Teriyaki chicken, rice and mac is sooo good!! This place is ALWAYS packed! They need to get a bigger place for how many people squeeze to get in but I do have to say I enjoy the Murray Location more.

Just got 3 different item (grilled teriyaki chicken, sweet garlic chicken and shoyu chicken) at Roxy's and all of them were fantastic for the price! The yakisoba noodles weren't the best I've ever had but everything else was really good. I was very impressed for what it cost. Will definetly be back.

This is simple: Lunch plates. Done right. Wait a little, pick Shoyu or Kalua, sauce it and fill up. You are instantly back in the islands and so, so happy. Usually a line.

  • K S.

Fast, busy and full of good food! Roxy's has some of the most relaxed and cheery staff, which is impressive when you consider how many people come through the line during rush times. The Teriyaki chicken is served in hot heaping generous portions. Kalua pork is only served on Tuesday and Friday, the mac salad is soooo good, it does not taste like plain mayo dressing. There is a nice choice to sub steamed veggies instead of rice if you want. I always feel like I am almost having a picnic on the beach, especially if we have sunshine and we eat out side at one of the clean and tidy tables. I was not much impressed with the spam musubi but it was fresh and hot. I am really glad to have Roxy's down the street for some good hot food.

Yup, they make a Korean Chicken sooo ono. Went back, and it just gets better and better. And the people that make the food exude the Aloha Spirit so well... Fried Saimin too. Soooo onoooo (goooood). Makes me think twice everytime I see an L&L pink-ish Chicken Katsu here in New York City... maybe I should get the first flight to Portland and grab some real local kine grindzz.

Does not compare to Local Boyz in Corvallis. This place was good, but not good enough for me to come back. The shoyu chicken and garlic chicken were dry. The aroma from the food was amazing, but did not match the taste, unfortunately. The deal maker/breaker was the mac salad. *sigh* It broke my heart that I didn't fall in love with this place. To continue my journey for Hawaiian up here, otherwise, I might just need to make a drive down to Corvallis sometime soon!

    I. LOVE. ROXY'S. My fiance and I moved to Portland over a year ago and will sadly be moving away in the next couple weeks. We have lived in the Cedar Hills area, so of course we found Roxy's. Let me just say that I'm not sure I will live without this food! Everything about it is amazing, taste, price, friendly staff, everything. The sho-yu chicken is so bomb and their mac - to die for! If you live anywhere in the Portland metro and have not been to Roxy's you are seriously missing out! I am going to miss you guys so much! Do you ship to Minneapolis???? I WISH!!

One of my favorite places! Great grilled chicken and veggies. There are a few Hawaiian restaurants in town that are good, but none beat Roxy's!

    (5)
  • Chris J.

Everyone raves about the shoyu, but they have another great dish that no one has talked about on here yet--the saimin. They run out of the noodles often, so you can't always get it, but when you can, go for it! Plan on dining in, since you can't really get it to go, but it's worth it. You get a huge bowl (like a bowl of pho) filled with authentic Ramen noodles (no instant dried noodles here!) and topped with BBQ pork, bok choy, chunks of scrambled eggs, green onion, and sliced fish cake. Fill it up with the most amazing daishi broth (tastes kind of like shrimp, it's REALLY good,) and you have their saimin. Well worth having, especially as the days get colder.

$7 for a giant plate of Hawaiian food?!? Yes, please! Great atmosphere, great attitude, great portions. I thought the food at Ate-Oh-Ate was slightly better, but it's so far away. Roxy's is going to be my go to place for on-the-fly Hawaiian food. -1 star for not have Kailua pork.

My first time eating here. Heard some good things about this place. Good location and ample parking lot that shares with the bowling alley next door. So we ordered the Sho-Yu chicken plate and the Teriyaki Burger with fries. The chicken was moist and good....its fork pulled chicken or shredded, some parts I got was pulled from the bone. Quite tasty and came with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad. I enjoyed it and would definitely get it again. The Teriyaki Burger was pretty good too....comes with a pineapple and swiss cheese on top. It doesnt have any sauce on it, so you have to add it. They have squirt bottles of sauce you can add. The burger was a burger, nothing special I enjoyed that as well and no complaints there. The fries are unsalted, so you will have to salt them yourself or use the sauces. I think both of this costs about $12.50 total....totally affordable for what you get and good portion sizes. Went in late afternoon before normal dinner time....had to wait about 10 mins or so as they cooked my meal to order. Saw other Hawaiians there so I was happy about that. Very casual place...but wouldn't consider it fast food or anything. I recommend trying it out. Happy Eating!! Aloha!!!

What can I say... looks are deceiving. After moving to Oregon from 2 time zones away...I have driven by this place about 100 times until I stopped at the Rite Aid to get some tylenol and parked outside the place....As I made my way out of my car to cross the street to Rite Aid ... I smelled the sweetest - the most delicious grilled chicken. The smell was so enticing that when I was paying for my goods in Rite Aid I asked 'Is there a Grill place around here -- it smells amazing!!" The cashier pointed to the "shack" called the Roxy Island Grill--- which by the way as we speak I am craving... I walk in -- the perky young lady recommended the teriyaki -- we got it with rice and macaroni salad as it usually comes... $7 bux- that is all! It was amazing - I HATE macaroni salad -- but I loved it! I eat there at least once a week -- take out always... my kids even ask for it. Fresh grilled chicken with white rice ... OMG If you haven't tried it -- you must -- look beyond the store front and get the yummies.

The atmosphere was fun and fresh. The place is a bit. We ordered our lunch just before rush hour hit. Had the teriyaki chicken which I loved and my wife had the pineapple chicken. Both were great. It was a bit more than I expected to spend. $7.50 a plate. Not horrible but thought it would be more towards the $5 range for the amount of food we got. Other then that place smells amazing. 4 stars as I though the serving size was a bit small for the price but great for your stomach.

This is a continuation of my search for yummy loco moco. I happened to be out in the Beaverton area and did a quick search for some good Hawaiian food and found Roxy's to have gotten a lot of positive reviews so I journeyed on over. I got the loco moco and ordered up an extra side of mac salad. Staff was really nice and the order was cooked up in good time, with little waiting. The food was dang good and I was instantly happy with my choice of restaurants upon digging into the joyous super gravied goodness. There was enough gravy that I certainly wasn't left wishing I had more (which happens sometimes with my loco moco experiences). The mac salad was awesome and I took some home to my wife and she agreed that this stuff was "it". I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area, gonna have to try some other dishes too.

I thought Bamboo Grove had the only decent Sho-yu Chicken...not any more. I have not been disappointed in anything... but my favorite item on the menu is the garlic sesame chicken. And it's always a funky reggae house party inside, with the dude running the hot smoky grill getting' down and making sweet delicious food. Roxy's, you rock off my Soxies!

Wanted to go 4 stars because they're always out of something, but had to go 5 for the consistently delicious tastes, the tunes, and the smiles. I come here every week and I don't even live in Beaverton. They have a sauce called Mix which is Sriracha + Teriyaki...why you are still reading this and not actually at Roxy, or why I am typing this right now and not on my way there, I don't know. Also I'm in a constant search for a comparable Shoyu Chicken and I haven't found it yet.

I don't have a lot of experience with Pacific island grill, but this is tasty food. My wife and I stopped here for a quick dinner. We were hoping for the palau pork (since it was Friday) but the guy at the counter assured us that they run out quickly. I guess we'll need to stop by for lunch then to catch it. We both had teriyaki chicken sandwiches and they were fantastic. The chicken was ample, tender, and falling over the bun. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

The service is always friendly and the food is good and cheap! It's got a great dive atmosphere and they always have island music jamming in the background. Mac salad is top notch and the portions are huge.

Omg. We can't stop coming here! I suggest the teriyaki chicken. It's our favorite! We even bought a bottle of the sauce for home cooking. You get a choice of meat and a side of either rice and Mac salad or noodles and Mac salad. There's great fruit drinks, I love the ice tea. This place will stay in your mind and you will crave it!!! Yummmmmm we already worry about when we move to the east coast and not having it anymore :( but for now we eat it all the time! A great date is stopping here and then heading to the bowling alley right behind it! 9pm-11pm 25 cent games and shoes.. Just a thought.

Sho-yu Chicken, FTW!! I was finally introduced to Roxy's this past weekend & I'm already looking forward to my next visit. We arrived before the lunch rush & was served within 10 min of ordering. When I couldn't decide what to order from their picture menu they gave me a few samples of their meats & I fell hard for Sho-yu Chicken. It's sweet, juicy, tender & full of flavor. Their two scoops of rice & one scoop of mac salad are a tasty addition; three sides with choice of entree for only $6.50 @ lunch; WHAA?!?! Something else that's awesome is how much food is served for just one person. Holy moly I had so much leftover... I loved it! I've had good hawaiian in Eugene & PDX but there's great hawaiian here in Beaverton. Roxy's is available to check out between 11am & 8pm, M-Sat but they need a day of rest on Sundays which is completely understandable with all that hard work preparing & serving incredible hawaiian eats! Check 'em out!

Being from Hawaii originally, it's always a score to find a great plate lunch place. They do it right here. The cook is a Hawaiian guy and he looks like he's having a great time back there on the grill. I get the Hamburger Steak most of the time and always ask for extra onions which is no problem and no extra charge. The spirit of Aloha is alive and well too. Everyone is super nice and the food comes out fast and hot. They have some different types of chicken that is already made. Kalbi Chicken, Terri Chick and Shoyu Chick are all excellent. No skimping either. Major Grindz. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is not really the fault of the restaurant. It's too small! So many people love eating here for lunch that the seating fills up fast. There's some outside picnic tables, but during the fall and winter stay too cold to eat out there. Not sure what planet Kristen D. is from beacuse she doesn't know what she is talking about. This place is the bomb and other people I know from Hawaii love it too. Sorry Kristen D. Good luck on your quest to find another Plate Lunch Place. Cheers!

I have been on a quest to try all the Hawaiian joints in the area. L&L, Hapa, Patrick's Hawaiian Cafe, etc... Let me tell you - This dominates them all. Atmosphere: Distinctly chill, Hawaiian. Food: BOMB - just absolutely delicious. Go here - you won't be disappointed. I had the Teriyaki Chicken, and my girl had the Shoyu Chicken - both were amazing.

a Hawaiian place that doesn't have pork on the regular menu... need I say more? Okay I will anyway: Maybe I am spoiled from being on the islands recently, but I was not impressed with any of our dishes. I DON'T CARE that it is cheap. I won't sacrifice quality for cheap!!!! The Chicken was dry, like REALLY DRY, rice wasn't even really sticky. The chicken bento was okay with the noodles, but over sauced/ marinated (even for HI) standards. The Chicken wings should have been called garlic wings. The mac salad was a 7/10 That's my story and I am sticking to it.

I've never been to Hawaii so I can't really comment on how authentic it is but the food I had was delicious. I forget what it's called but it was chicken in a ginger sauce over rice. I definitely recommend it.

I consider myself a seasoned vet at Roxy's by this point. My "check-ins" don't tell the whole story - I only got a smartphone as recently as January of this year, yet visited Roxy's about every other week during all of 2010. There isn't another restaurant that I can eat at so frequently and not get sick of. I think it's important to review the circumstances under which I've been to Roxy's: Twice in one day? Yep. Lunch and dinner. Consecutive days? Haha. Oh yeah. Multiple consecutive days? I think my record is 4 days in a row. Utilized their catering services? Ayup. For the 4th of July last year, I picked up a tray of shoyu, a tray of teriyaki chicken and trays of both sticky rice and mac salad for a friend's annual party. Cost: $150-ish. Result: 25 happy party goers, and I was happy to answer questions about the food for them. They've got a debit/credit card option now. The counter staff has gone through a bit of turnover recently, but they seem to have stabilized. I would offer that if you get something to go, it's worth double checking your order by peeking in the lid, especially if they're busy. On consecutive occasions recently they've slightly messed up my order a bit. Which, to their credit, they've corrected instantly. If you're going for lunch, I would absolutely recommend showing up either early (11:30 - 11:45) or late (1:00+), because high noon can be absolute chaos.

We had Roxy's the other night on a last minute dinner fix. I was excited to try Roxy's with such high reviews and praises. My experience was 3 stars. I'm not saying they aren't a 4 or 5 star establishment, i'm saying that my visit was a 3. Why? The food lacked. The macaroni salad didn't do it for me, and usually that's pretty fail proof on my tongue. Hold on, I do remember thinking that the rice was cooked perfectly. It had a great texture. The teriyaki chicken I had was rather simple or "safe" if you will...minor let down. My wife's Shoyu chicken was a good tasting dish. It was shredded really well and had lots of sweet flavor in it. So really, I didn't mind the prices, the service was so memorable, that all I remember was paying for it. I have no clue if a guy or girl helped me now I think about it...girl maybe? Yea....anyhow.... I am not gonna count them out yet, I'll try it again, just hope they had an off day.

I am astounded I haven't written a review sooner! As often as I frequent this establishment and as loudly as I scream their praises from the rooftops this review has written itself. Everything on the menu is GREAT! Sho-Yu Chicken with Rice only is my "go to" but the very first dish I ever ordered was the Orange Chicken. A few months ago I encountered the Sweet Garlic Teriyaki Chicken and when I have time to order it I most certainly do! Fried Noodles to substitute the white rice is a nice kick of spice. Be sure to look for the house special blend of Sriracha/Teriyaki Mix and say "What's up!?" to Dino while you're there!!

So yesterday, my co-worker came back from lunch. He'd mentioned he was going to some grill place that didn't sound impressive. He came back, and he said the food was bomb. Color me suspicious but there was much raving to be had. I had to try it, if only to disagree with him. Holy Hawaiian Hannah, THIS IS SOME GREAT FOOD. I literally almost wrote a review while I was eating my meal today. I fortunately missed the lunch rush, but there were enough people in there to convince me this place stays busy. The menu is simple - pictures of what they offer & what sides they have. I've never had shoyu chicken before so you'd think I can't judge it against other places. WRONG. I have no doubt this is the best I'll find nearby. Tender, juicy and full of flavor. I mixed it with the rice that comes with the platter and I tried to eat slow to make it last...fail. Too good to do that. And I cannot stress this enough - do not miss the mac salad. This is a sin. That stuff was so delicious I can't even...well I'l try....creamy, well balanced.....DAMN it's good what are you doing still reading this review!?!?? Portions are good for a reasonable price. I was served quickly, with a smile and sent on my way with a to go box. I cannot wait to go back again. The only problem is I hate when food places know me...that means I go there too much. Guess I can't avoid it in this situation! Side note: It's tiny, seating is sparse.

Me and a majority of my coworkers come here weekly and we just love it! The food is always fresh. The staff is friendly. It's an overall excellent experience.

I have been trying to find a good Hawaiian place ever since NoHo's closed down their shop on this side of town, and I think I have finally found a worthy replacement. Where else can you go to get samples of the different base elements in the dishes before ordering? The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the price was extremely affordable. I will definitely be going back.

Okay, da hubby and I stopped here for lunch a couple of days ago. He'd never been, but we'd been out in Hillsboro and our GPS is already programmed for Roxy's. (He didn't know that!) He had the Orange Chicken, I had the Kalbi Chicken. Both were fantastic. Served piping hot and 'ono to da max. THEN I noticed they now have saimin! I woulda gotten that if I'd seen it. Blind mullet wahine foa realz. The guys were joking with me while they cooked; they work fast and it doesn't take long to get your order. As always, broke da mout' grindz. Still cash only, so go prepared. My only complaint? It takes almost an hour to get there from my hale!

My boyfriend and I went to Roxy's last night. It was crowded, but that's not unusual. However, the staff seemed hectic, and customers in front of us seemed angry, and a couple customers even got their money back for orders that didn't get completed. We should have turned around and left then. Instead I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and we went ahead and placed our orders anyway. They were out of Sho-yu chicken, and the girl behind the counter couldn't seem to tell me what dishes they did have ready to go. I ended up ordering the basic teriyaki chicken and my boyfriend got the garlic chicken. They told me it would be a 10 minute wait for the teriyaki chicken. No problem. Except, 10 minutes went by, my boyfriend got his food (but he said it wasn't very good) and other people got their teriyaki chicken (a girl at a table by us, who got there way after we did, got three orders of teriyaki chicken to go), but I never got mine. When my boyfriend went up to the counter to see what was up, the girl said they were now out of teriyaki chicken. Clearly as soon as my boyfriend got his food someone threw away our ticket, and we were forgotten. Something else that was pretty disturbing was we heard the staff call out orders that were ready to be picked up, and if the customer didn't respond right away the staff crumpled up their tickets and went right on to the next person as if it was no big deal. People paid for this food! I guess I wasn't the only person who got hosed last night. I did get my money back, but only for my teriyaki chicken. With a mistake like this they should have comped our whole meal. At this point I was starving and ready to cry. So instead we went across the street to Five Guys Burger and Fries and I actually got my food there! Needless to say, we won't be coming back.

Roxy's I love you. I made the mistake of stopping at another "hawaiian" and grill. And all I kept thinking is why oh why haven't they expanded the roxys location for Hillsboro. :)

Had a craving for Hawaiian food and asked the GF if she wanted it and she did. Looked at the watch it was 7:45 and the place closes at 8. Get in the car, drive through the red lights, drive over the sidewalk and rush right into the join at 7:55 and asked "if they were open?" "Yea, were open until 9 during the summer" Great, wasted all that precious gas. But now I know, and knowing is half the battle. So I've been to this place a few times and I like it. It's Hawaiian but without the Spam...booo! But I do really like this place. The Loco Moco is fantastic. The beef patties are well seasoned and the gooey gravy is nice. This dish is the "Spoil yourself" dish if your on a diet. The chicken dishes are not bad either, moist and not dry. The Kalbi chicken is something you need to try along with the Loco Moco. The prices are pretty good. If you expect to be waited on, that's not happening. They'll call your name and you get for food. Easy as that. Service wise was alright. The Pepsi machine was out of Pepsi and they changed it quickly. The aroma of the place smells so good when you go home you still smell it in your shirt...just makes you want to eat the shirt.

I am a total newbie to Hawaiian food. Well, I tried it once (at another place, obviously), and it was really, really bad. So, I kind of thought that I just didn't like Hawaiian food, instead of realizing that restaurant just sucked. A lot. Ah, that was in my pre-Yelp days......seems like a distant memory..... Anyway, I saw so many good reviews that I tried Roxy's. The Shoyu Chicken seemed like the way to go, so I gave it a shot. Oh, my goodness. SO good! Delicious, juicy chicken and a lot lot LOT of it, with 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad. For $6.50! Are you kidding me? Awesome. I actually would have liked a little less chicken, a little more rice because it goes so well together and I was out of rice before the chicken was half gone. That is SO not even a complaint though! Ha ha, too much chicken, whatever..... Anyway, reserving a star because it's the only thing I have had, and there is a lot more on the menu I'd like to try. That hamburger steak looks like it might get me to a 5th star though. ummmmummmm. The mac salad is incredible too, nicely flavorful and creamy. Nummy!

Beaverton's Roxy's Island Grill is quite the hangout. Seems that everyone from the Beaverton Police to the local store clerks are taking their lunch at Roxy's. It is not unusual to see a line extending from the cash register all the way to the door at Roxy's Island Grill. There is a good reason for that. Roxy's Island Grill serves delicious food at rock bottom prices. You can easily have yourself a royal Hawaiian feast (including drink) for less than $10. The menu is small but the entrée selections are spot on. Some examples are the Teriyaki Burger, Shoyu Chicken, Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu, and Fried Noodles. The seasonings are perfect at Roxy's and the proportions are correct. For example, teriyaki at Roxy's Island Grill does not mean that the food is swimming in teriyaki sauce. On the contrary, Roxy's meats pick up the teriyaki flavor nicely without overdoing it. The interior of Roxy's Island Grill is a little worn out and the seating is extremely limited. You might want to consider take out at Roxy's. On my first visit to Roxy's Island Grill there was a young man who was just learning how to run the cash register. It was a toss up as to who was more confused by Roxy's ordering system, me or him. Later I heard the young man's fellow workers get on him about not offering mac salad. Felt more sorry for him that he caught hell than I felt sorry for myself for not getting macaroni. The Hawaiian food at Roxy's Island Grill is definitely worth five stars. However, I deduct one star for the worn interior and the scarce seating. Would recommend Roxy's Island Grill for anyone looking for quality and inexpensive island foods.

This place was absolutely packed at lunch time. HUGE portions of food, and their Kalua Pork and terriyaki chicken was great. The Kalbi (sp?) chicken was also good. Try their noodles as a departure from the rice and mac salad if you want something different - they were good.

We were out in the middle of nowhere and driving back home surfing yelp for a dinner stop. This place caught our attention because we do love Hawaiian food and for all the high reviews. It's a tiny place with seating for at most 24 at the seven small inside tables and there are a few more outside. On a Monday evening at 7:30pm the place was lively with patrons, music, laughter and conversion. We ordered teriyaki and half & half shoyu/pineapple both chicken plates. They come with two scoops of rice and one of mac salad. All our chicken was good. If I were to be nitpicking the teriyaki chicken was a touch on the dry side as was the rice. Sauce added over the top helped. Portions are good sized, the majority of the patrons were families to late 20's. Obviously the staff has a good time working here as much of the laughter and loud voices are coming from them. They seem to do more to go business as they do dine in so seating does clear up often when orders come up. Hours are 11 - 8 but they were still taking order wall after 8. Overall this was a filling experience and we'd stop by again.

We discovered Roxy's driving through Cedar Hills one night and were bummed it was on one of their closed days. We came back as soon as they opened again on Tuesday for lunch, and have been coming once a week since. I've never tasted a better burger in Oregon. Their Teriyaki burgers are so good, I think I could force a few down in one sitting. Don't waste your time with lame-o chain food places like L&L Hawaiian BBQ, they just do not deliver the way Roxy's does! My kids all dig on the Moco Loco's and their Orange Chicken is like nothing I've ever had. I really like their Sho Yu Chicken too. The Mac salad is killer and so are the fries. Really, there isn't one thing on the menu we don't like. You can't beat their prices, either. Their servings are ENORMOUS (as you can see in the pic I posted)! Roxy's apparently opened another spot in Tualatin, too.

Living in Hawaii for most of my childhood, this is hands down the best hawaiian spot in all of Oregon and California that I have has so far! Really brings back good memories. Plus, having hawaiian's own juices makes a meal so, so much better.

We've had takeout from this location a few times. Their teriyaki burger is moist and has great flavor, and their fries are awesome! My husband loves the kalua pig (get it on friday, that one is better than the other day that they make it!). The portions are nice - if we order one order of each, it easily feeds both of us and our two small kids. The mac salad is different than any I've ever had. I'm not a mac salad aficionado, but Roxy's is great! Give it a try. :) This location has been closed the last few times we went past, but I hope they'll reopen soon.

  • Ron T.

Kalua pig for Friday's special is what I've gotten myself when I went there. It was of a healthy serving that was downed with Lilikoi tea that is also being sold there. One of the sides that I have is the macaroni salad. I wish it could have pineapple chunks to make it better but hey it's not too salty which is fine by me. With it's quaint, tropical ambiance, it is being matched with the friendly people there who often treats everyone like Ohana (family). I love the posters. From the corrugated tin sheds turned into walls to the photos that will juxtapose your head into amazement. The service is fast and efficient. The place is clean and definitely not Hawaiian sandy. One current drawback is they don't accept credit cards.

GREAT Hawaiian! Look at the menu and show up on a day that serves shoyu chicken or Kalua Pork. The Mac salad is crazy good as are the prices

This is the original location. It's fresh and taste good. The only negative is the size of the restaurant. But besides that the people are nice and friendly.

  • Zoe Z.

They are ALWAYS out of Short Ribs. What don't they get? That's the best thing on their menu, order more of it. The last three times I went they were out. And the most recent time they were out of Mac too. Whoever does their ordering needs to step it up. Other then that, I would give it four stars for serivce, cleanliness and food quality. But the fact that they are always short on food knocks that extra star off......

    (3)
  • Jeff S.

The food is wonderful and we love it. I would give it 4 or 5 starts on that alone. Their Mac salad is awesome. However, they have no phone to call to check on what they have in stock. The last 3 times we have gone there, they have been out of the 2 favorite things for my wife and daughter. Their comments were "sorry we are out of ....." but they give you no way to find out when they will have it again. For that reason, I shave of some stars. We have resorted to going to another Hawaiian place that always has our favorites on hand.

Got the tip about Roxy's from a Hawaiian buddy who frequents the place. This is the best Hawaiian I've found in the area. If you're new to Roxy's, you can't go wrong with the Sho-yu Chicken. The macaroni salad that comes with the meal is so killer... I wish they used a bigger scoop.

    (4)
  • William B.

My wife and I love Hawaiian plate lunches and were excited to try Roxy's. What a bummer! The place is a little dive with questionable cleanliness. My wife ordered teriyaki chicken, I ordered sho-yu chicken. When these meals arrived, it was obvious the chicken had been cooked some time previously and was served in small chunks. The better plate lunch places have the chicken marinating, then grill a chicken breast or thigh meat when ordered...comes our fresh and juicy. The teriyaki chicken was so dry it was hard to swallow and the sho-yu chicken not much better...clearly the meat was sitting in a vat waiting for orders. Next, the atmosphere. Not clean feeling at all; and the music? Loud Jamaican. What about some Hawaiian music for the Hawaiian plate lunch shop. Finally, since the parking lot is on one side of the joint, all patrons come and go through one door. Boy, was that windy and cold sitting at the tables! They could sit a Japanese-type screen at the door to break the cold wind (and stop the flying napkins). Over all, a diappointment...food was way below par compared to competitors, ambiance (dirty, windy, with loud Jamaican music) was bad. I struggle to find anything good to say...oh yah...free parking. I really do not understand the 4 and 5 star ratings. Have you tried other plate lunch places? Ever been to Hawaii? We will not return

    (2)
  • Joe S.

Good food, especially with the tasty sauces. This is a better place for take-out, since the interior is small and the island music is WAY too loud. Service is very friendly!

  • Emily M.

I am writing this review mainly, because of the macaroni salad. I don't know what they make that stuff with, but it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. That means it is probably not good for you, but we go there when we want comfort food and generous portions. That little A-Frame Hawaiian Food Shack is the best place for comfort food! I usually do take-out and they are fast. My favorite main dish is their Sho-yu Chicken and their Loco Moco, but I am still slowly working my way down the list of dishes.

    (5)
  • D M.

The absolute best!! Sho-yu chicken is amazing. And we cannot forget how good their Mac salad is. And it's only $7??!! For all that food? Every time I drive by it is busy, but do not be scared. Take the time and eat here. You will not be disappointed.

    (5)
  • David W.

I eat here once a week. It is, in my experience, the best Hawaiian food in town. I will say that this location is MUCH more consistent than their other locations in terms of how the food is prepared. If you like food (and a lot of it) then you are going to love this. Amazing chicken, noodles and the mac is to die for! Load up on their "mix" hot sauce to have even more TBO. I will say the only downside is seating.

Mahalo for the Ono Grindz! At long last I had good reason to be out way out in SW recently, and so finally had good enough pretense to stop by Roxy's. Been wanting to check them out for a LONG time! So very glad to know it was worth the wait! Saimin noodles? Check! But what is this? No take out containers w/the Saimin??? Shoyu chicken? Magnificent. They make huge batches of it all at once, b/c, um, they sell so much of it... Kalua Pig? Of course, but only on certain days, as with many (but not all) other Hawaiian eateries... Loco Moco? Freakin' awesome braddah! Cyber- high - five for that goodness! And the burger patty-- so thick! So tasty! Musubi--- XXXXXX (gonnnnnnnnnnnnnng) no go on the musubi =( Roxy's is a very solid 4 star place to get your Aloha fix; the building is custom built for drive-through service. Hey powers that be @ Roxy's: Would you kindly consider putting in a drive through? It could only help business skyrocket, and you deserve to skyrocket! and Musubi! How 'bout adding the quintessential Hawaiian snack to the menu? Don't even have to bring Spam to the menu (though it'd probably sell great if you did); just use the katsu chicken, etc. already on the menu.... pretty please, w/poi on top.......?!? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gooooooood....

Absoltely LOVE this place!!! I just moved to Seattle last September from Hawaii and every time I get a chance to drive down to Portland to visit friends, I ALWAYS come to ROXY's. They make the meanest Loco Moco & Shoyu Chicken. I've been wanting to try the Kalbi but every time I go, I can't stray away from my two favorites. If only they made fried rice too.. that would be so good with the Loco Moco & Mac Salad. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

I think I have a problem at this place. I'm thinking of suing Roxy's for an infinite supply of the best Hawaiian grill in town. Well... that was a funny thought that makes my tummy hungry. This place is a total dive and every dish I tried so far was really good. The loco moco and chicken teriyaki are the best I ever had.

This is my new go-to Hawaiian place. It's so tasty! I highly recommend the Shoyu Chicken. The chicken is tender and juicy and the sauce is fantastic. It's my favorite! I've been in three times now and the staff is always super friendly. This place is great.

after driving by here several times, I finally decided to pop in to try it for lunch. there was a LONG line, a good sign, but it was moving pretty steadily. I asked about the two size options: the $4 bento and the $6 plate. the difference really was an extra scoop of rice and some macaroni salad. I ordered the bento kalbi chicken and it was more than enough for me. the grilled chicken was really flavorful (added some teriyaki and siracha too). the sho-yu chicken and kalua pork seemed to be the most popular with others in line, but I was very happy with my choice. also, they only take cash so be prepared! all of the staff were super friendly and happy to answer the question I had. will definitely be returning!

Roxy's food isn't terrible, let me start with that. It's not the best Hawaiian food I've ever had, I'd call it average. I've definitely had worse. The Sho-yu chicken is the best thing on the menu. What gets Roxy's 2 stars from me is the fact that you have to wait FOREVER for them to scoop rice and chicken onto a plate for you. The ordering process is bass-ackwards. I wonder if any Roxy's employee has ever been to a food court at a mall or a Panda Express or Subway or Chipolte. As a customer you expect to walk in the door, start at one end of the counter, have a server scoop your food from the trough in front of them and you as you work your way to the cash register at the other end. Then, you pay and the guy or gal running the till who tries to sell you on a drink. This is NOT the case at Roxy's. Instead, on a typical weekday during lunch, you have to work your way through a crowd of hungry people waiting on food to place an order from the employee at the register. This employee will hand write your order on a ticket, as if you were at a diner and the waitress was jotting down how you like your eggs cooked. Then the register gets poked with only the dollar amount of your order and if you're paying by card (and who doesn't), the same is punched into the Visa machine. The magic ticket that was hand-written then gets stuck up on an order line and you need mill about and wait for the one employee working the line to hand select your entree. They have piles of hot food there, and it just needs to be scooped onto a plate, but I am not joking when I say they actually have a sign posted behind the register that says your order may take 10 - 15 minutes, Mahalo for your patience. Seriously, it is the most asinine process flow I've ever seen. Granted, there are a couple of things you can order on the menu that a big Hawaiian guy behind the food trough will cook to order, but even so, the vast majority of people in the place are just waiting for food to be scooped. Hawaiian food should be a bit more relaxed and you should hang loose and all that, but this is Beaverton, not Honolulu and when compared to the lightly fast food prep at the Chipolte just down the street, Roxy's is woefully slow. Ive eaten there a half dozen times and the average time to get my food is 6 - 8 minutes, and I'm not ordering anything that's cooked to order, just scooped from the trough. Good food, just don't be in a hurry.

I looooove Roxy's. They always hook you up with nice portions, they are always nice, and the food is delicious. Price wise it is a bit of a pricy lunch option if you work in the area, i usually spend about 7$, but its sooooo worth it. One little thing you should know, they only accept cash. Often I wont go to a restaurant that has chosen not to make it as convenient as possible for their customers to give them money, but dangit the food is just too good! They do have a sign saying cash only for now....but the sign has been there since they opened.... Go to this place, get the Sho-Yu Chicken, you will go back to work with a smile on your face, guaranteed. If you are wondering if you should try L&L instead DON'T DO IT!!!! If they ever accept plastic, easy five stars. *******UPDATE THEY ACCEPT PLASTIC!********

When I moved up here a few years ago I was on a search for the best hawaiian food in Portland (according to my Mainlander tastes) When I lived in Euegen I ate Hawaiian food 2-3 times a week at Ron's Island grill and Hawaiian time (which is now in Portland) but I never quite found what I was looking for. Eventually I gave up having eaten at some pretty decent spots, Bamboo grove was a stand out, but I grew bored of it quickly.. so I gave up. Somehow I missed this place completley, it is awesome! My favorite place in Portland I will be making the drive to eat here a lot. I tried the Shoyu and Kalbi chicken. Both excellent, but the Shoyu was the best I have ever eaten. Falling apart tender and super moist still stewing in its awesome marinade. If you like island food go here

I'd give it 4 stars for the food. It's consistent and tasty and I find myself coming back for more. I have to give it 3 stars because they have been out of the teriyaki burger the last three times I've been in. Also this place gets 3 stars for wait time, it seems to take forever for the food to get to you. But every once in awhile when I need a Hawaiian fix, this is the only place to go in this side of town. 3.5 stars.

I love this place, I eat here way to much. The best loco mocos, and mac salad. I went to Maui not to long ago and I had a loco moco some place there and it wasn't as good as they make them at roxys.

  • Duane C.

Kim chee is awesome by itself but when you pair it with the BEST LOCO MOCO in Oregon...BROKE DA MOUTH! Sorry, I had to revert to pidgin mode for a sec. I'm so glad Roxy's exists. Kanak-attack!

Lots of food and cheap! Had the teriyaki chicken and YogaLady had the shoyu chicken which we exchanged because we preferred each others dishes. I wasn't mad about the macaroni salad, but YL loved hers (big mayo fan, whereas I'm not), and the sauces (spicy and soy-something) were yummalicious. Not a green vegetable in sight, but that's what salad bars are for - riiight?

The food was ok... and I kind of blame myself for it not being great by not ordering the YELP recommended items. I do not recommend the Orange Chicken. The Mac Salad was spot on however. I fully expect to be back with a glowing 5 star review, I just can't give it out this time around.

I think that this, Kauai Island, and Hapa are all on about the same level, you get about the same stuff, but this place may take the cake on Price. $6 for the lunch platter is a screaming deal for the portion size. Friendly staff, GREAT location, good out door seating for the upcoming summer. They are on CASH ONLY currently.

This place has great chicken hawaiian dishes. I love the shoyu and teriyaki chicken. Their steamed vegetables go great with their rice, chicken, and sauce. I am giving the place 4 stars because the atmosphere is a little lacking. but other than that, the place has great food and its reasonably priced. I really want to try the teriyaki burger next time I am there.

Stopped in for lunch today. It was busy, the staff was friendly, and smoke from the kitchen filled the air. We were off to a good start. I ordered the Katsu, and my partner in crime ordered the Shoyu. I've never been to Hawaii, so I will never claim to be an expert on the cuisine. I just know where I've been before, and I know what I like. The Shoyu was good. Sweet, tender, lots of flavor. Would definitely get it again. The katsu was ehh.... Their panko breading reminded me of really bad shrimp at sizzler, but maybe it's supposed to be like that. The rice and mac salad were pretty standard. I want to go back to try the loco moco, and to see if they serve kahlua pork. Miles above Hodgepodge (gross!!!) and Hawaiian Time, but I've had some pretty good food at NoHo's.

I go here about once a week and get the Terriyaki Chicken every time. Bento size is $4.50 and comes on a bed of rice. mmmmm, MMM! Cover it in the special Sriracha sauce or ask for it "extra fkn HOT" and they'll throw in a delicious spoonful of chili paste. Yes.

This is really one of the best Hawaiian place in town. If you went to OSU and ate at Local Boyz, you know their Mac salad is the bomb! But this place, let's just say that I don't have to drive down to Corvallis for good Hawaiian food again. The Shoyu Chicken is a must try if this is your first time. The orange chicken is also really good, but it does take a bit of wait. If you are not in a hurry, it's totally worth the wait. I love to go there before movies at Century. However, if go go there right before they close, don't be surprised that most of the items are sold out. They used to take cash only, but now they take cards.

I miss Hawaii. I miss the food and the weather and the warm ocean. Thank goodness for Roxy's. I feel like I am walking into my mom's house, or one of my auntie's, and the smells and Hawaiian Sun and pidgin english make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The Chicken Tonkatsu reminds me of the lunch truck that used park out by our favorite beach. All salty and sandy and starving we would scarf down a plate of fried chicken, white rice, mac salad and Hawaiian Sun Guava juice before heading back into the ocean. Thank you Roxy's for bringing a bit of home to me in the PNW.

Excellent food and good value. I had the teriyaki chicken, husband had the kalbi chicken. Everything was really delicious, and definitely generous portions. Bathroom is really small!

Sunshine in your mouth even if its raining outside. One love. I had previously visited Roxy's and had some so-so kalbi chicken. For one the KC isn't my favorite dish but they were out of Kalua Pig, their famous burger, and a number of other items. I can't complain about a place that's so good they run out of food. I geddit. Walked in today and got a 50-50 order of Kalua pig and Kalbi Ribs. The latter of which I love with little char. Everything was perfect, just the best grinds from a wonderful ohana. Prices are lower than the surf in Oregon. Some of the best Hawaiian food around, and one of the best places you can possibly go to in Beaverton for a nice casual spot. If you're laid back and looking for great food, Roxy's is it! If you're not laid back, you should probably work on that. :)

One of the best meals on this side of town. Get the Korean fried chicken, extra mac salad, and a guava juice. Heavy, and hearty, you won't be able to stop eating until you are dead full.

Thought I had reviewed this place earlier, but the iPad app says otherwise. Whatev. I'm actually glad I went back to give Roxy's a second chance. My first experience was kind of "meh", but they redeemed themselves this time. The Sho-Yu chicken was outstanding. It had excellent flavor, and damn near melted in my mouth it was so tender. I can't remember what I ordered the first time I was here, but it must not have been the Sho-Yu. Service was friendly and quick, (I came in after the lunch rush,) and prices were very reasonable. Between Roxy's and Hapa grill, I'm covered for Hawaiian food in Beaverton.

The macaroni salad is the best I've ever had. Seriously, awesome. The fried noodles were bit too greasy and my chicken was a bit too sweet. I'm giving this place four stars for a few reasons: one star for uniqueness in Beaverton, one star for Roxy's tattoos, one star for the kicking macaroni salad, and one final star for the potential I see for other experiences along the menu. I dig the place, but it might take a few tries to get my Hawaiian grill on.

Since going here for the past year or so, I've ventured onto trying other dishes. I have to say, the teriyaki burger is hands down one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had. They tend to run out of them around 5 or 6pm. I call my husband before he gets out of school at 6 and ask him to pick some up on the way home. Sometimes they're out, but most of the time he gets the last 2 burgers, oddly enough! I LOVE the kalbi chicken. It's kind of sweet and very garlicy with lots of sesame seeds. I wish I could try the kalbi wings, but they're usually out when I think about ordering them. I tried the orange chicken once, but I think it would have been better if I'd eaten it there when it was fresh, instead of waiting til I got home. On Wednesdays they have curry beef stew. It's so good over rice. I can't say enough good things about this place! Oh! And they take debit cards now! :)

The wife picked me up from work yesterday and she wanted to have dinner at Roxy's. We've been there together a couple of times since my first visit. I'm upping my review to five stars because they are just so darn friendly. My wife was excited to see that they had her favorite flavor of Hawaiian Sun--Lilikoi Passion. The folks at Roxy's also knew how to properly pronounce her Hawaiian name when they announced our order was ready. That never happens. We shared a katsu plate and brought one home for the boy. Good stuff. I could eat a tub of that mac salad. Very reasonable prices and generous portions, and with the friendly atmosphere, Roxy's is hard to beat.

This place is AMAZING!! ITS CTFD!!! (Cheap, tasty, fast and delicious) If I lived in Portland still this place would be a regular place to go weekly! Only $6 for a Hawaii style plate lunch! $4 for bento which is just rice and meat! Unbelievable prices! This place gives generous portions as well! They also have daily specials! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! If you went to Oregon State and went to Local Boy'z you'll love Roxy's!! The fare for this place is super friendly to all! Only downside to Roxy's is their not open 7 days a week! Oh and cash only!

Best Hawaiian joint I've tried in all of Oregon! I've been to NoHo's, Hawaiian Kine BBQ, L&L, Hawaiian Time, Hodgepodge and this is by far my fav. Everything I've tried has been delicious, the whole staff is very personable and engaging, prices are great and portion sizes are very generous. I've had the Sweet Garlic Chicken (my fav), Kalbi, Teriyaki, Shoyu, Katsu, and Shoyu chicken. Each are their own distinct flavors and textures and you can't go wrong with any. The Kalua pork on Fridays makes treks out on Fridays worth it alone. I love a good Hawaiian mac salad and theirs is right up there. We even got offered some free pineapple upside down cake (which again speaks to the generosity of Roxy's) and it was great too. The only knocks someone might try to put on Roxy's is they only accept cash which for someone like me (who never carries cash) might seem like a big deal but I go out of my way to make sure I have cash so I can always stop in if I need to. Don't let cash only deter your taste buds from this delicious experience of wonderful food. This place is so good I tried it about 2 months ago and I've probably gone about 10 times and I've got my wife hooked also.

I broke down and decided to give it another try - this time I ordered the 1/4 pound cheese burger and the fries. I have to admit the burger was really good. I don't know what they do to it, but it was cooked to perfection and wasn't dry at all inside. The fries were really good too. The cost for a cheeseburger and fries is $4. I must have caught them on a good day! I THINK THIS PLACE HAS ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS AROUND! I will be back.

I'm from Hawaii and I must say this place ain't that great. Went here when they first opened. My friend and I ordered and it took them 30 mins. to get our food to us. While other people who ordered after us were already getting their food. On top of that, my kal bi chicken wings were still bloody. I had them sent back and I had to wait for a fresh new batch. But by then I've already lost my appetite. Bleach, if I remember, was the cooks name, apologized for the raw chicken and told me that I had a free meal the next visit. But I haven't been back since. I would rather eat at L&L....

I love this place and have gotten over the embarrassment of showing up weekly. Yes, I am now proud to say I'm a "regular" at Roxys. Their prices are unbelievable, $4 for a bent and $6 for a plate. Portions are super generous. The recently started serving saimin and my god, that is one huge bowl of soup definitely large enough to share. Along with their standard menu items they also have daily specials like hamburger curry stew, pork adobo and kalua pig!!! There menu isn't large but it does include all the staples (heavy on the chicken dishes). Ive never had a problem with their menu other then deciding what I want to eat. Their teri-burgers are pretty damn popular for $4 you get a giant teri burger and yummy crispy french fries! My favorites are the shoyu chicken plate and the Pork Adobo (only served on Thursdays). The service is quick and the staff is super friendly. It's easy to see why they have such a loyal following. Roxy's is cash only so don't walk in their with only your debit/credit card and they are closed on Sunday and Monday's.

To me this is the best Hawaiian food place in this area hands down. As someone who has been going to Hawaii yearly for 15+ years Hawaiian food and Mac Salad are one of my fave things to try and find here in Oregon and the amount of places that have bad examples of Hawaiian food seem to out weigh the authentic good, "broke da mouth" ones. This place has my fave Mac salad and I love that you can order any of their chicken dishes spicy! Especially the Shoyu chicken, you get that amazing mix of sweet and spicy, yum. I love, love the guys behind the counter and hearing that music when I walk in the door, takes me right back to the N Shore. My only hope is that they never close down!

Best Hawaiian food I've had in Beaverton, and a buck or so cheaper than the competition. The Shoyu Chicken is great, and to make it even better try asking for it spicy -- they'll throw it back in the pan for a minute with some nice red peppers at no extra charge. Not for everyone of course, but if you can handle the Medium sauce at Fire on the Mountain, you'll be okay with this.

Feel like being transported to Hawaii for a little bit?! Step into this place, it is friendly and very delicious. I had the Sho-Yu Chicken and it was more than I expected, just the right balance of flavor and moistness. The mac salad also went great with the rice and chicken. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu, seems like a great summer spot to go to in flip-flops.

Man was the food ono!!! Today I ordered the Loco Moco, no frozen beef patty here. Plenty rice, gravy, the eggs and mac salad was pretty good. The music, is awesome, good Hawaiian Vibe, the decor was relaxing...great vibe throughout the restaurant. The crew is funny, they just continue to talk story the whole time...feels like home!!! I recommend this place. Bring cash, no cards yet!!!

Went to Roxy's for the first time with my keiki. Good service, pidgin to da max, Jawaiian music playing, local atmosphere but not overdone. Nice guys working, but where da wahine's? The food was okay. First thing I noticed on the menu was that all the main dishes were Chicken, shoyu, katsu, teriyaki and Kalbi versions. Where da teri beef, sweet sour pork, mahi mahi. I miss Rainbows!!!!! I got the Kalbi chicken. No make dis one anymore. Junk. Gotta marinate da bugga! If you want kalbi, go to a Korean restaurant or Bamboo Grove for the most onoist kalbi in town. My keikis chicken katsu was good, but da sauce was below hawaiian kine standards. How hard is it to mix shoyu and ketchup together? One moa ting, kinda manini on the mac salad. Cmon Hawaiian. Pa-ke on da mac. At least makum same size as the rice scoop. Overall. OK. As alright, da haoles cannot tell da difference anyway, right? Geevum anykine. LOL

I'm not sure how this place progressed to five stars during the course of my meal, but it wasn't the food. The food was good. Not amazing, I've had better teriyaki, and I've had better kahlua pig. The mac was good. The rice was nowhere near perfect. But it was all good. So what gives? Something was just right. It all came together somehow. There was just a bit of magic to Roxy's. Everyone was having a good time. It was laid back. The tunes were good. There's something that happens when someone takes a space and exposes it to their vision. I think that's what happened here. Just some dudes who wanted to make a place that felt good like Hawaii and serve tasty food, and have fun doing it.

If you've already been here, you can ignore my review. You already know that Roxy's Rocks! If you've never been here, stay away! No seriously stay away. I don't want ruin the wonderful vibe created by the genuinely nice and friendly staff. I don't want to wait in line to get my hands on the tasty items that fill Roxy's menu. I don't want to wait behind a 1st timer, who cannot make up their mind as to which way they will enter into food bliss. Please stay away. I want to keep Roxy's all to myself. ;)

I had never heard of Sho-Yu Chicken before, and didn't know what it tasted like. I certainly can't compare it with those served at other 'Hawai'i'an' joints. But if its taste is supposed to be akin to having a little bit of heaven with every bite, then the Sho-Yu Chicken they serve at Roxy's Island Grill has got to be among the best. For once, I forsook my propensity for Chicken Katsu in favor of the less familiar, and (thankfully!) my curiosity was rewarded with oodles of flavor. Served with the usual macaroni salad and steamed white rice, the Sho-Yu Chicken is a flavorful plate lunch offered at a fantastic value ($5.50 USD). Plus, a soda is only $0.75 USD more. Totally tubular. And the vibe at the joint was superchill. If I knew how to 'hang ten' and pull it off, I would've done it in a heartbeat. Alas, all I could do was enjoy my meal in enviable tranquility. I'll definitely come back to try the other fare, which includes Loco Moco, Kalbi Wings, and the aforementioned Chicken Katsu-- if only to have a little bit of 'the islands' even for just an hour in the day.

I love that I live so close to this place because it is so yummy and so cheap! I mean I feel like I am stealing almost, seriously! Here's what I have had there: sho-yu chicken: when I told the owner it was my first time there, he offered me a sample and told me that they can go through 60 lbs. of the stuff n one day! I can see why, yummy, slow-cooked chicken the is tender and just falls apart. teriyaki burger: JUST GET IT! It is sooo delicious! moco loco: despite the Spanish translation of this dish, it is really good. I thought I would try the one dish that seemed to have the most Hawaiian street cred that was on the menu. This is a lot of food. Though it sounds weird - rice topped with a burger patty, with over easy egg, and brown gravy - it is good. This is not the kind of meal you feel good about after you ate it because you feel like a fat bastard, but it is tasty. The one thing that I love about this place is that the guy who always seems to be there (I think he is the owner) seems to be happy to be there, friendly, and proud of his place. It is also nice to see that there seems to be a lot of regulars, since he seems to know many of the people by name as they walk in. Maybe I will be one of them soon. Here's a secret: During lunch they have everything cooked up and ready to go in seconds. At dinnertime, everything is cooked to order, so it will take longer, but they are willing to substitute the pasta salad that it comes with for things like grilled veggies instead, you just need to ask. Enjoy, and don't forget to get the burger!!!!!

OH man, so good. I wanted to start out positive for my first review and this is the perfect place for it. Food - I have had the Teriyaki Burger - not something I would normally start of with at a Hawaiian joint, but wasn't that hungry. Juicy, good meat, good pineapple, great sauce...sooo tasty and filling. Not overly sweet, right combination of everything. It didn't come off as a novelty, but as a meal. Second visit, had the Sho-Yu chicken. Sweeter than Teriyaki but not obnoxious. It is the house speciality. Had some garlic too, again, killer stuff. Rice was perfectly sticky, mac salad was perfectly creamy. Prices - Extremely reasonable: 6 bucks, cant beat it. Service/Atmosphere - Everything made to order, the guys at the counter and behind the grill are extremely friendly, helpful and seem genuinely happy to be there sharing their gifts with you. Highly recommended bruddah, beats any Hawaiian place in PDX.

This is one of the worst fast food places that I've ever been to. We waited for over 30 minutes, but never got our food. Instead, they gave our food to the 20 or so other people who came after us. When we requested a refund, they shorted us by $1.00. When I got home and searched for them to post this review, I found out that KATU published an article stating that they had low scores on health inspections (and some other reviewers reported food poisoning)! I, my wife, and daughter went there for lunch. We placed our orders, and were told that they were out of Teriyaki Chicken, and that it would take about 5 minutes to cook some more. Because I was on crutches, I went back out to the car while my wife waited. I watched as 20+ people left with their food, but my wife didn't come out for 30 minutes. When she finally came out, she had no food. She explained that she had checked with them every few minutes and they kept telling her that the food would be ready any minute. After 30 minutes, he finally admitted that they had given all the Teriyaki Chicken they had cooked away to people who came AFTER US. My wife requested a refund, and even though we paid $17.00 for the meal that they never delivered, they only gave her $16.00 back! I tried calling the phone # listed with directory assistance to complain, but only got a voicemail saying it was for the catering line. They haven't called me back. Is the food good? How could I possibly know? I'll never find out. When I searched for them on Google, I found out that they've had some problems with their health inspections as well.

Today I went to lunch with some of my favorite coworkers and they suggested Roxy's Island Grill. Since Roxy's is nearby my apartment, I've been meaning to check it out. I'm so glad I did! The staff was very friendly and made me feel at home. And, the smell really drew me in... sensational! The menu included some great Hawaiian favorites like Sho-Yu Chicken, Loco Moco, and Teriyaki Chicken. I ordered off the Bento Menu (for my small appetite) and it was perfect! The Sho-Yu Bento is what I decided on and I was very impressed. The chicken was sweet, yet not overbearing. It was the perfect consistency and was marinated, I could tell. The prices were VERY reasonable - and I'm the girl who likes to save her pennies, so I would recommend taking my word on this. Please go visit Roxy's. As of now (it is temporary as the sign states) - bring cash for your meal, that is all they accept.

There is a little restaurant called the Camp House Grill in Kalaheo, Kauai, about a 15 minute drive along a sugarcane lined highway out of Poipu. I mention this, because I still dream of the teriyaki burger they serve there, that I ate many times on a trip there about 11 years ago. I crave to recreate that burger and have tried many times over the years. I have found some that are pretty good, but none that match. Until now. Roxy's Island Grill no ka oi (is the best). While its obviously more enjoyable to eat this type of food while enjoying a Hawaiian vacation, we are so lucky to have this place in our backyard. The surrounding location is not particularly attractive, but if you face the faux bamboo instead of looking out the window at the dollar store across the street, you may allow yourself to dream of Hawaii as you eat the ono (delicious) food. The reggae and Hawaiian music they play, with heavy base, will also facilitate these dreams. The teriyaki burger is a cut above the rest because they use great tasting beef and make it that much better with the delicious teriyaki sauce. Its a good sized burger and has the standard pineapple and swiss cheese, but everything just tastes better. The Sho Yu chicken is so good, I could probably handle two plates of it, despite the fact that the servings are already more than ample. The sauce is the standout with this dish too. They must allow the chicken to marinate in this deliciousness for at least 24 hours. The flavor is intense and is present in every bite. It is so sweet, it will make the otherwise delicious Hawaiian Sun canned juice drinks they offer seem almost tasteless. The orange chicken is also worth trying. Fried to the perfect crispiness, the orange sauce is more tropical and sweet than found elsewhere. Highly enjoyable. I hope you give this place a try. Just don't do it on Sunday or Monday, as they are closed.

Good Hawaiian-style food. Meat, rice, and mac were all good. Will probably change things up next time so I figure out what I like best! Been looking for a Hawaiian place closer to where we live than another place we've been. Will be back.

I'll pile on with the other reviews here. Visited for the first time today. Friendly staff, quick in and out for take out, very very reasonable prices. Had some orange chicken and teriyaki chicken with noodles. Tasty meat, and the rice was good, macaroni salad was low key and filling. This is my wife's favorite kind of meal and at these prices, I'm sure I'll be back. The location/ambience is not that great, but again at this prices, I'm not complaining! Open 'til 7 so handy for take out for dinner.

Loved the chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki. Prices are decent for what you get. We weren't able to eat in the restaurant, as there is limited seating and it gets pretty packed at lunch time. Will definitely be back to explore the other menu items.

Just had a great lunch at roxy's island grill. The teri burger was everything that the others reviewed and more. What a bargin at $3 plus a scoop of that yummy mac salad. The sho yu chicken was also very flavorful but could have been preped a little better. There were some Grissel and veins in mine. A pet peeve with dark meat chicken dishes. My only complaint is that the pre cooked bento dishes come out immediately while the cooked to order food takes time. A definite consideration when dinning with others. No one likes to eat alone. I only with there was a white meat chicken option as well as some kind of teri beef dish. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will for sure be back the next time I'm on that side of town. I suggest just ordering the bento size vs. The full plate lunch. The only real difference is the scoop of mac salad. However, it is so good it may be worth the extra two bucks

This is my type of place. Friendly people, good food, and extremely affordable. My favorite so far is the Sho-yu Chicken, although the Kolbi and Sweet Garlic were very good as well. I get the noodles instead of rice, but either way the portions are huge so go with your gut. If your looking for a authentic plate lunch look no further. Ironically, when I was in Maui last year I didn't find a plate lunch spot as good as this. Going back in a couple months, if anyone has a good recommendation let me know!

    * THE BEST BURGER IN OREGON IS FOUND HERE! Well, I just couldn't get enough of this place so I had to go back the very next day to try their other menu items. I just finished a monster workout and I was very hungry. I settled on the kalbi flavored BBQ chicken and the teriyaki cheeseburger. First up, the teri cheeseburger. This is absolutely the best burger to be found in the state of Oregon! I'd say the patty is at least 1/3 pound of homemade ground beef goodness. I think it's ground sirloin because the flavor and texture of the meat is outstanding! It's smothered in an "oh so familiar" Hawaiian flavored teriyaki marinade. They also use Romain lettuce as opposed to the cheaper iceburg lettuce found everywhere else. Swiss cheese, a giant pineapple slice, and mayo finish this masterpiece off on a very soft bun. The BBQ chicken is perfectly marinated in a sweet kalbi flavored sauce. It's grilled just right with enough charbroiled marks to enhance the flavor of the chicken. The meat is very tender and isn't dry at all. This was much better than the Sarku Japanese restaurant I reviewed last week. This chicken is definitely a winner. And the two meals listed above come with Roxy's oh so wonderful mac salad, with the chicken also coming with rice. Roxy's is my new favorite eatery in OR. I will be eating here at least a couple times a week and you should too! Check it out ASAP!

Coming from a true Haole...this place Rox! Great simple menu, incredibly priced entree's at 5.50, and tasty eats. The one trip I have made, I went simple, assuming if their Teri-Chicken was good and the potato-mac was better then perhaps next trip I would try my first Loco-Moco. Well....it looks like it's Loco-Moco for me! The chicken was charred to perfection, the rice sticky, and the potato-mac oooh so creamy! If this place was in walking distance it would become a main staple.

I lived off Hawaiian food for 6 years and this place is okay at best. I lived in Maui and the worst places there put this place to shame. Shoyu Chicken - what makes this dish so perfect is the chicken is marinated in Shoyu (Hawaiian style soy sauce) and then slow cooked with the juices. The result is a semi salty/savory flavor and a moist and tender consistency that makes your mouth water just thinking about it. This place claims everything I just mentioned but it's far from it. Nobody can screw up the flavor because well, you just can't but it's really dry, like bone dry, like suck all of the moisture out of your mouth and want to pound down an entire Hawaiian Sun drink after just one bite dry. To the people that like this dish from Roxy's I would advise them to check out Kauai Island Grill. That place knows how to make authentic Hawaiian food and I promise you, you will not want to go back to Roxy's

Went here for dinner on Sunday night. We were originally hoping for 808 Grind, but found them closed when we arrived. At Roxy's we ordered a Kalbi chicken plate and the Kalua Pork daily special. The kids got the Shoyu chicken keiki plate with noodles. I actually think the kids' food turned out to be the best - tender and flavorful. Our food was tasty as well, but in a perfect world the Kalua pork wouldn't have quite so much salt and smoke flavoring, and the mac salad would be in less dressing. In general, Roxy's is a solid choice for fast, flavorful carryout.

I love this place. First time I tried it, I ordered shoyu with an extra scoop of Mac salad! And then I went back five days in a row. I love it all, I've tried everything on the menu at least once except the burgers. Everything tastes amazing. I'd come here once a day of my wife would let me.

I happened upon Roxy's by accident yesterday when I dropped my daughter off to bowl at Sunset Lanes in Beaverton. What a great find! Roxy's is a casual hawaiian place that serves bentos and burgers with counter service only. This is not a fancy place, but a cheap eats place. It's a place I can't wait to go back to for a quick bite. For $3.50 you can get a bento with teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, shoyu chicken, or kalbi chicken....all served on a bed of sticky rice or fried noodles.....it's cheaper than a fast food meal, just as fast, and delicious. They also have a "plate lunch" menu for $5.50 which has larger portions and a side of macaroni salad. They feature all the same entree choices, with the addition of Loco Moco, which is evidently an island favorite. I'll save that one for next time, as fried eggs on hamburger in brown gravy is not my deal. I was with a group, so I tried everything. My favorites were shoyu andj the kalbi.....a bento was more than I could eat. The owner came out with a sample of the Kalbi wings, and I can imagine ordering a to go ton of them for a quick appetizer for a dinner party sometime....they were delicious!! Some might find it's location on Walker Road in the Sunset Lanes parking lot, with a view to the dollar tree off-putting, but I think the food more than makes up for it. I'm thrilled to have another go-to spot in Beaverton for a quick healthy meal that won't break the bank!!

This place is fantastic. Used to be Feng Shui Cafe, a mid-run Chinese (Americanized) joint that was all right for the price but nothing fantastic. Now it is one of the best Hawaiian places in the area. The food has all been very good so far. I have tried the Sho Yu chicken, orange chicken, chicken katsu, and they have all been excellent and tasty and a great price for the value. Apparently you can swap the mac salad for vegetables, which I haven't tried yet but will. Most recommended.

After going to this place for 3 visits or so, it is literally as good as it gets all across the board. The food is delicious and prepared JUST right with that perfect island touch. This place gets it done across the board, not only is the food good but the atmosphere is one of a kind playing island themed music, the place is decorated in a way that makes you genuinely believe you are on the island. and what completes the package is the owner who is also the main chef is one of the nicest most genuine guys who knows how to do customer service and make you feel right at home your first visit. well done Overall one of my favorite places in town and I would not hesitate to recommend the drive across town just to check this place out. well worth it. well done Roxy's Island Grill

Local food made with love. They feature mostly chicken and hamburger dishes - such as chicken katsu, kalbi chicken, teriyaki burgers and loco moco. Beginners should start with the perennial favorite - shoyu chicken. Roxy's does have Kalua pig on Fridays though. At $6 for a plate lunch, it's hard to go wrong with Roxy's.

Bemoaning the new loss of Aiea Grill and their amazing potato-mac salad, we decided to give Roxy's a try. Delicious mac salad. Chicken Katsu slightly overcooked, but still okay. Sauces flavorful. Worthy of a return visit, but still doesn't fill the void.

Popped by here on a lazy sunday night for some takeout after reading the rave reviews here on yelp. You guys were right! This place is super tasty. Got the shoyu chicken and teriyaki chicken and they had it ready in under 10 min! Rice was moist, the mac was really good, and the chicken was tender and juicy. Great service and the people working there were real friendly. Some reviewers mentioned they didn't take cards, but when I went tonight they took mine so I guess the problem has been remedied. I'll be back!

I made a trip here on a Saturday night and it was so delish! For a traditional Hawaiian plate lunch it was 7 dollars and you got your choice of various meats. I had the shoyu chicken with 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. Man the macaroni was amazing! Now the shoyu chicken I have never had it before anywhere and it was some of the most moist and flavorful chicken I have ever had. This place will definitely be my new Hawaiian place when I feel like experiencing some aloha.

My grandparents lived in Hawaii (on Oahu and Kauai) for about 10 years when I was a kid. As a result, I love Hawaiian food... moco loco, Spam musibi, chili & rice, plate lunch... heck, I even think poi is pretty good. And Roxy's is better than any I've had here in Oregon. I've had the Shoyu chicken and grilled kalbi chicken, and both were delicious and quite cheap. People who don't think this place isn't authentic enough probably haven't spent much time having lunch with a real Hawaiian family, I have numerous times and these are some ono grinds, bra! I'll be back again soon!

Had lunch at Roxy's today and it was my first experience at this Hawaiian restaurant. Fantastic food, exceptional and friendly service and the price was great. I had the Orange Chicken which was very good. The price of $6.50 included two big scoops of white rice and a scoop of homemade macaroni salad. I will definitely add this place to my lunch rotation. Highly recommended.

the owner and his friend that work here make this place a fun to stop by. order your food at the counter and if it's not busy the guy will actually bring it to you! they make conversation with everyone that comes in and you can tell they've built a good rapport with enough people that their business will continue to thrive just because of referrals. i miss the food from home so this place means more to me than it would if i was an OR native. anything you can order will be good. however, i've not tried the orange chicken-- just seems to me that they can make do without this addition to their menu. i come here because i want a break from my healthy regiment. btw: it's so funny to know what the premise of macaroni salad is --- it's basically Macaroni and mayonnaise! hahahahaha, gotta love the Hawaiians!

First of all, the shoyu chicken is amazing. I have had nearly every item on their menu. Their Kalua pork is alright, but i cannot help ordering their chicken items. Teriyaki, Kalbi, and shoyu are all solid winners. The only items i haven't tried is their new teriyaki chicken sandwhich, their kalbi wings, as well as the fries. The Orange chicken could be improved. It kind of tastes like what I would imagine a "Fruit Punch Chicken" would be. It is also red in color, which doesn't help its situation. The owners are constantly looking to improve their small business. They keep adding items to the menu, they extend their hours, and yet sometimes they sell out of food and still have to close early. It just means I need to get there sooner so no one else can eat my shoyu chicken! They only accept cash, which I do not mind as long as their prices stay low. Their prices are very affordable, with nothing more than 6.00 for a big plate of food. Roxy is the only reason i have cash these days. I love love love this restaurant.

I eat here about once a week and it consistently hits the spot. I always get the sho-yu chicken with the mac salad and rice. Honestly I am not a huge fan of mac salad, but when I tried their mac salad I was SOLD! It tastes wholesome and I like the pepper on it. The sho-yu chicken is awesome. Perfectly shredded and tastes moist and sweet. They let me try a sample one day and from then on I got it every time. The employees their are pretty nice. They've turned over a few front line people in the past several months but the food keeps me coming back.

Yup, just found my new lunch spot. Shoyu Chicken is delicious and the macaroni salad was awesome. $7 for a giant plate of food. Guys behind the counter were friendly and fast.

When this place opened a couple years ago I would've given it 5-stars. Over the last several months the owners have put their focus on another location. As a long-time customer I feel this location has unfortunately taken a hit with quality and speed of service, as well as the quality of some dishes. As for their current rating I would like to give 2 stars, but I'll comprise with 3 since they used to be the best place to eat within 10 miles for less than $15. Hope you guys can return to form...

    Best Hawaiian food in Beaverton!

  • Shirley W.

This is seriously the best hawaiian food I've had in the area. Their mac salad is rich and fresh tasting and I've also tried the kalbi chicken which is tender and flavorful. They have extra shoyu sauce on the tables just incase you wanted more to smother your rice in and everyone is so friendly! They also give samples out if you are undecisive. They are working on putting a credit card system so they can accept credit cards soon!

Loco moco comfort food at its best. I have never had a bad Loco Moco here.

Best Hawaiian in town! The Shou yu or the kaluha pork are great bets. Love the mac salad as well! Only drawback is that they STILL DONT TAKE CREDIT CARDS.

I had the Sho-Yu chicken dish today at about 4:00. I EXPERIENCED MODERATE SYMPTOMS OF FOOD POISONING SHORTLY THEREAFTER including an upset stomach, diarrhea, and intense sweating. I had not had anything else to eat all day. The food was delicious as always, which is the real shame... The people there are genuinely nice, the food is always delicious, but dirty/under-cooked/bad chicken is unacceptable! Darn shame!!!

This review is just for the sho-yu chicken. Had the teriyaki, unimpressed. The kaluha pork had big chunks of fat. Don't love that their hours are so inconsistent, and that they are closed on Mondays. Have gone by several times only to find them closed early for events or that I forgot it was Monday. The guys seem cool, and I've never had better Macaroni salad. The sho-yu is the best I've ever had, and I'm pretty sure I could eat it every day with a smile.

I came here on a Thursday night and the place is a little difficult to find since the restaurant sign was not lit. No problem, though. I found some parking at the nearby bowling alley and walked right in. Immediately, I was immersed in delicious smelling grilled meat. I could really smell it. I picked chicken teriyaki to eat. The service was really fast. This is a great place to eat a casual lunch and dinner. Under 10 bucks for excellent Hawaiian cuisine? Heck yeah.

I have been to Roxy's a few times and find the food to be very good and an excellent value. The Teriyaki burger with mac salad is the best deal on the menu and has been delicious each time I've had it. Not all of the dishes are 4 or 5 star, but the food seems consistent and its' very likely that most people can find something they enjoy on the menu and feel like they got a good deal on it. If you crave Hawaiian food, you should try Roxy's at least once. Your wallet and palette will thank you!

Wait staff was supremely friendly and helpful. Food is good for what it is, but I guess I'm just not that big a fan of Hawaiian food- teriyaki chicken, sesame chickent, orange chicken, shoyu chicken, etc. all just kinda remind me of panda express and the bits of chicken at the mall the workers try to give you a free sample of. That said, Roxy's is very high quality compared to that. The best part of the meal was the pulled pork, as the lady said it is their special and people flock there specifically for this item. They have hawaiian soda/juice which is a nice treat, and their macaroni salad is pretty good. They have kimchi which is ok, not great (they did give it to me for free because they said they were out and then magically had some, which was a nice touch). Oh and they have sriracha

My boyfriend an I have been going to Roxy's since they opened up in this location. When we first started going there the food was great, but recently the chicken has seemed to be of very low quality. One of our favorites, the orange chicken, is definitely not worth ordering anymore. There is always chunks of fried batter in lieu of chicken in my dish. The mac salad is stellar though, and still great to this day. I recommend trying this place out, just order accordingly.

Hefty portioned dishes. Fun reggae music. Roxy's truly gives off a islander vibe. Sum it up with amazing Chicken Teri, and you'll feel like u just hopped off a jet when really, your on a 30 minute lunch break. love it here!

My wife and I stopped in last night for a quick dinner. Had the Teriyaki Chicken plate, which came with rice and mac salad on the side. It was very good. Both my wife and I left very satisfied. The employees were very nice and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. Price was great as well, as we only spent $12.50 for meals and drinks between the both of us. We live nearby, so this will probably become a regular stop for us.

Roxy, you are such a tease! I went to check you out on Sunday couple weeks ago with my buddy, but you were closed... ok... it's cool. Since I'm all about second chances & cuz I promised a yelper (thanks for the recc EL), I came back Monday.. and what's this.. you're closed again?! ...dissed. If you were a guy, you'd be considered "bap mat uppsuh" ("you make me lose my appetite" in Korean) and I wouldn't even waste my time, nor would you get a 3rd chance from me. I have too many other options to consider to be playing games. Do you know how many places I bookmarked that would appreciate my business?! ... But thank goodness your name is Roxy! You sassy thing you! I came back on Tuesday and you welcomed me with an open sign that said "cash only (temporarily)." Dang you are demanding! But it's OK, cuz you're Roxy! Stand your ground, girlfriend. Your burgers were gooooood as promised - although it's a little on the sweet side - and the katsu was perfectly breaded with the mac salad complimenting the dish nicely. Yum! The people working there are friendly and it made my experience that much better. I'll be back, Roxy!

food is great & definitely a bargain! service can be a little slow, hours are limited & the fact that they don't accept credit cards yet sucks ... but that doesn't keep me from coming back! definitely a fan of this place, so much so that I sometimes plan my dinner time around their hours.

I been loving on Roxy's since I started working close by. I come by at least once a week. Their food is amazing, and at very reasonable price. If you're in the Beaverton area, Roxy's would be my top pick for where to eat.

This place is the bomb!.......Except for that time I went inside and the place was just filled with smoke and people lined up against the tables.....that time it looked like a bomb went off. Everyone was happy and damn that smoke smelled good. The owner was barbequing some chicken dish that I cant for the life of me remember the name right now but it sure was delicious. I always revert back to my island roots and bust out the pidgin english when Im in here. And now they accept credit cards.

Went here tonight for take out dinner. Had the sho-yu chicken which was very tender and sweet with a hint of ginger. Obviously slow cooked until the meat was just falling apart. For $5.50 the plate lunch came with two huge scoops of rice and one of mac salad...too much food for me so next time I will be ordering the bento size which is smaller. Husband ordered the noodle dish with kalbi chicken on top. Unfortunately the cook didn't have enough noodles so he added some rice on the side. What noodles we did have were very well seasoned and tasty. The only other disappointment was that they were sold out of the teriyaki burger, which I have read is wonderful...a reason to go back I guess! All in all a very good bargain for the amount of food, and very tasty as well!

Best Island food off the Island's. Don't go hungry, you will want to eat everything. Specials are tasty, if you hit a day with Pork or Fried rice indulge. We are moving out of the neighborhood and will miss this spot. I will miss my Saturday lunch spot. GOOD STUFF BRAH!!

Two words: shoyu chicken. So tender and moist, I daydream of this place. Plus, it's cheap (beware: they only accept cash at the moment) and the people working there are super-friendly, and not in that annoying fake friendly way. It really seems they are glad you chose Roxy's. I highly recommend this place to everyone as a great Hawaiian experience, good food and good prices.

I wanted to give this two stars, however since I am only experiencing them through a catered event I will put 3 instead. What they said they were offering on the flyer was chicken, pork or vegitarian. After standing in a very long line for which we bought tickets earlier in the line to eat there we get up to the front and want 4 vegitarian and one chicken. They explained the chef forgot the vegitarian at the store, we assummed being that this event was down the street that they would go get the veggie stuff. They however explained they were not going to, we asked for our money back they said that they were unable to do that and offered doubling the rice and macaroni. After speeking to someone in charge we did get the money back but I felt they were unprepared to cater an event, they brought no vegetarian options, no teriyaki sauce, no soy sauce, no chili sauce. I learned later in the evening that they ran out of food before the last of the line had eaten. With all this said I would like to try their food in the resturaunt but I believed I needed to write this in case anyone out there is thinking of having them cater their event.

Saw this one night while at the bowling alley next door. Finally had the opportunity to try it. My husband and I both has teriaki chicken and enjoyed it. Good size serving of nicely flavored chicken, two scoops of rice and one scoop of mac salad (yum!) for $6 bucks. Lots of chicken dishes to choose from. We enjoyed it and will definitely go again. Next time I might try the noodles.

I am surprised that this place has so many positive reviews. My boyfriend and I went here together, and we were both disappointed. I am a vegetarian, and the only thing they had to offer me was a very small plate of "stir fry"- aka limp cabbage, shredded carrots and celery on top of white rice, which did not even come with any sauce. I had to drench it in soy sauce just to make it edible. I realize that Hawaiian food is not usually vegetarian-friendly, but you'd think they would at least have real vegetables, and throw some teriyaki on there for goodness sake. My boyfriend got some sort of orange chicken, which looked like a fried, radioactive mess. He said it was disgusting. I tried some of his macaroni salad and it was just gross. We both left feeling unsatisfied. The service was fairly friendly, although several people who ordered after us received their meals before we got ours, which seemed strange since we both ordered small, uncomplicated dishes.

Nearly every single item on the menu is wonderful, and you simply can't beat the price. Only downside - cash only.

  • JS C.

I decided to try this place based on all the yelpers... My initial reaction is the food is mediocre. The guys that run the place are super cool, so I'd say five starts for atmosphere. They recommended the shoyu chicken, which ultimately tasted like a simple chicken dish I could make at home, ie flavor was simple and chicken was a little dry. I agree portions are large, but I'm more into flavor than quantity. all said, I'll probably give this place another shot...at their prices, not much to lose, and I'll certainly have a full stomach.
