Came here for lunch mid-week with my husband. Good thing neither of us were under a time constraint. Service was very slow. Took almost an hour to get our order, Cobb salad and Ahi. In addition to the slow service our waiter was mostly MIA. Finally snagged the bus boy down to get bread. Food was very average. Won't be back.

When I am paying double the price of any other restaurant I would expect to get my money's worth. Here I felt ignored by the staff. There were seriously three other people in the restaurant who each had their own waiter. I was on my lunch break and had an important meeting to get to. This would not have been a problem if my food and check were brought to me in a reasonable time frame but my waiter would just disappear. The food was alright - from what I could tell. It took so long to bring it to me I had to slam it down very fast to try to get out of there in time. I will not go back to this restaurant again.

Save your money. The quality is not the same since the ownership change. Clam Chowder used to be their signature soup, was not good at all. Service feels like you are at Applebees, friendly, but the edge is missing. Restaurant was empty on a Friday night, so I guess others are discovering this as well. Prices are way too hide for such a mediocre experience

I came back here after a long time and was a bit disappointed. The service was great as always, but the quality of the food was completely sub-par for a place at this price level. The heirloom tomato carpaccio I had for appetizer was very cold, which tells me that most likely the tomatoes were pre-sliced and put in the refrigerator. Refrigeration kills the flavor in tomatoes. I love fresh tomatoes. In a place like this I expect them to be fresh, not refrigerated. My salmon was dry and overcooked. I can think of a whole number of places in Portland that can serve better seafood at the same or lower price level. Disappointed.

Very friendly service. Good soup and veg. Fish was fair, very oily in a not very good way. Spendy.

My kids took me to McCormick's for my birthday dinner this past Sunday, the waiter was fantastic, the food excellent, I had the parmesean crusted sole w/asparagus(perfectly cooked) with butternut squash pilaf. It was fantastic! 3 of my adult children had the angus burgers, they loved them, one son had the parmesean chicken, it was great, I tried it. For appetizers we had the stuffed shrimp and calamari, perfect! The service was so good we we're able to enjoy our appetizers w/o having to rush into the main course, also the clam chowder was yummy. For dessert we had the apple pie & the creme brule, also great. This was my find time at the restaurant & I can't wait to go back.

I was just here for the happy hour. Not a huge selection of local brews, but decent I guess. Their happy hour menu has changed quite significantly but I guess I was disappointed with the selections that were available. The service was friendly and it did start to get pretty crowded as the evening wore on. Maybe I should have ordered even more appetizers since I became hungry a couple hours later. Oh well, live and learn.

The service was great!! Our waiter was on top of his game. Every time our drinks were under a half of glass, he was johnny on the spot. He was knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations when asked. The Food was top notch. I hate lobster ravioli and it was one of the best i have had. They were full of lobster and cooked perfectly. My guest had filet oscar. Nice size filet cooked to perfection, with jumbo lump crab meat on top in a hollidise sauce. It was outstanding. The meals are not cheap, 20 bucks for the ravioli and 29 for the filet. If your looking for a solid meal then this is a great place to try. HAPPY HOUR is also great here. You can sit outside and enjoy cheap eats!!!

It's my fall back. I eat dinner/lunch here when I can't decide where to go. Yes, it's spendy but the service is superb. The presentation is excellent. The seafood is ... good. I do expect more from a NW seafood restaurant. Some people have taken digs at the decor. It has a certain New England-style charm without making you feel overwhelmed by decor. The atmosphere is perfect even when you are alone. My kids like it too (woohoo!). However, I flat out CRAVE their Happy Hour. It changes at least monthly & always offers a surprise. Don't hesitate here. Everything is good. The Beaverton location is my favorite for one reason: Steve, the bartender, makes the best lemon drop ever!!! A must have! Plus, I've always had good company amongst strangers there. More kudos for the Key Lime Pie. I am not a fan of Key Lime except their's. Wow! I'm getting hungry now...

Funyuns. That's what the Angel Hair Onion Rings tasted like. FUNYUNS. Now, this isn't a bad thing. It's... actually pretty freaking awesome. Fresh, crisp, flash fried onion strands. It's the closest thing I've tasted to those yellow bags of goodness since, well, I've had a bag of FUNYUNS! Beyond that, well, unfortunately McCormick's just doesn't make the grade. They get a star from me for accommodating us randomly on a Friday evening. Our server definitely gets a star for going above and beyond explaining things. And, well, the Angel Hair Onion Rings get a star. Beyond that, I can't award them any more, and here's why: The seafood was forgettable. I came in here with a hankering for fish n' chips. Now, apparently, according to you educated yelpers, there isn't anything to be had on the west side for fish n' chips, save for the Corbett Fish House, which we weren't interested in driving to. A search for fish and chips on Yelp kept hitting McCormick's. Okay, so I know this place, I've been here before, but it's been many years. Fine, we'll hit 'em again. On the chalkboard right as you enter is a special from Hawaii - Mahi Mahi. Sweet! I'll keep that in mind, right? I know I want fish and chips, but if they recommend the Mahi Mahi, I'll hit that! Sadly, she says the fish and chips is made with Cod, which I'm not interested in. Cool, I'll have the Mahi Mahi, but cook it through and blacken it please. Okay, you Mahi Mahi purists are upset at me now, because I don't want it on the rare side. F off. I like my fish cooked through. Too bad. Bottom line is our server came back 10 minutes later and said "we don't actually have Mahi Mahi". ... "but, but the chalkboard" ... "Yeah, we're changing it". Fine. No problem. I'd eyeballed the lobster ravioli (random) before I saw the Mahi Mahi. Our server, ahem, "can't recommend that either". WHAT. Okay. Wife says "how about the cashew encrusted tilapia?". YEAH! Long story short... it was okay. I mean, it was passable. I'm not a seafood guy, by a long shot. But it was just... okay. Our server was outstanding, I'll give 'em that. It's just unfortunate that the food was okay at best, and took F O R E V E R to come out. Funyuns. Buy a bag at Plaid Pantry and call it a day.

Can't believe how far this place has fallen ! Once one of the best fish spots in Portland, it's little more than a dressed up Red Lobster now. Food was terrible and over priced, noisey as can be. Only three tables dining and an empty bar on a sunny Sunday evening at 8:00pm. Too bad. A once glorious place is now a dump, owned by a 400 restaurant chain from the MidWest. A simlpy stunning fall from grace, hard to imagine unless you see it for yourself. Better yet don't. I'll name you 50 other places you'd rather drop $100. The fresh sheet is gone, there is no rice! Imagine a fish place with no rice pilaf ! Vegtable rague was bits of asparagus and frozen peas ! tasteless balnd French onion soup. Ceasar salad, chopped romaine with store bought dressing. Anchovey ? Parmasean? Are you kidding ! not here. Sloppy, nasty Salmon swimming in lifeless juice, under done and incredibly small for an entree. $40 sirloin was choice, not prime. Just what you could get at Safeway for $7 ! Soo Sad, Soo bad! Somebody pulled the plug on this place six months ago, and its now on life support ! Hopefully it gets sold again to someone who cares. Do not go here, do not eat here, or you wil regret it ! Yuck !

Mixed bag. I LOVE seared Yellow Tuna, and they have it here. It'll cost ya...and it'lll cost over $22 a plate. For that kind of cash I would expect some dam good tuna. It was. However, the lack of a salad with the meal made it a poor value. Just a simple choice of spinach or mixed greens (like they charge $6 each for addtionally) would make it totally worth it. My biggest qualm with this place was 2 things (beyond the lofty cost) 1. The sushi rolls I received on the same platter with the tuna had gross... hard, even totally "stale" rice. It was like they refrigerated the rolls for 24+ hours prior to serving them!! Come on !! Really?? Stale rice, $22, REALLY??? Have you tried taking sushi-to-go and then recalled 2 days later that there was still sushi in the fridge? THAT is what the rice's consistency was like!! 2. When I sat down and awaited for my fiancee to park the car and join me...the waitress approached me and asked if I wanted something to drink. I recalled seeing the "Happy Hour" sign in the front before they placed me in the booth, and asked what the happy hour was? She said it was ONLY in the front bar. WHY the happy hour could not be served in the dining area, being DURING Happy Hour...was 100% beyond me, but I digress (???) Weird. Seeing that was her answer...I figured I would cruise over the the bar and surprise my lady with a tasty reasonable cost beverage before we ordered our fancy shmancey yummos. When I went to get the drinks..she came up and explained to me that "She was my server and can bring me drinks, that is what she is there for". What?? For one...why are you climbing me, and another WHY did you tell me I HAD to travel to the bar to GET HH???? I just chilled. Granted, she may have made zero cents...but the entire time she was very friendly and checked on us often. yes...mixed bag, indeed. So, the bartender asked if there was anything appetizer food wise that i would like to order on the HH menu. I looked it over... and thought the $1.95 fondu sounded mighty good before our decadent tuna surprise came. The waitress working in the bar serves me the fondu, I walk toward the table, and....she stops me. She tells me I cannot order happy hour food and bring it in the dining room. I told her "OOOOhhh k". "That is not what the bartender communicated...she offered me the menu option knowing I was dining". "I guess just take it off the bill". Tacky. Most of us would assume the waitress would have replied something like "Oh, I am sorry...just so you know...next time..but here, that is fine". Maybe even COMP it because of the weird mix up? NO. She just smiles and takes the fondu...likely to the fricken trash!! Um..waste? and for absolutely no dam good reason???? Now I am officially annoyed. But I internalize further. We skipped fondu. "Why is s*it" so dam complicated here!? Anyway... I am going to support a smaller, local, maybe even local ingredient/ organic... "blah blah blah" (you Portland peeps know the drill) place for less money next time. When I paid $100 after turning in a $20 coupon I received for travelling 1st class on Alaska (gotta love the snow storms pre-Xmas that required we stay in CA "through" X Mas...FREE upgrade Woot Woot!!!)...I couldnt help but thinking..."For the love of God...that would have been=$120 plus tip!!!!" "Helllllll". "NO." No WAaaaaay would I pay $120 for THAT meal and Drinks!". I have had fine dining. I have had fine dining experiences. THIS was NOT one of THOSE. Luckily at least the tuna and drinks were top notch. Forget about value, or being mindful enough about having fresh rice on the sushi rolls...and dont be suprised if you receive some miss-communication-weird-ass- bureaucratic-bar-and-dining-area-crap... Anyone have a place to recommend for seared goodness? I will not be going back to McCormick's. Coupon or Not. I would rather save money and have Chili's before coming back here.

Great food, the rockfish was prepared just the way i wanted. Wife's mahi was prepared fantastically as she wanted the parmesean crusted instead of simply grilled

I'll start by saying that I probably wouldn't come here for dinner and order off their regular menu. At least not if I was paying. It's definitely spendy...I've had some decent meals here, but they weren't great, and my boss was paying. With that being said, happy hour is most definitely worth checking out. It seems like the menu changes every few months, but I'm pretty sure none of the offerings ever reach more than $3.95. Right now they have this amazing bbq chicken sandwich for $1.95. It comes with fries, and the sandwich is big. Definitely a meal for one person. On our most recent visit here, we had the following: -bbq chicken sandwich and fries -fried shrimp sliders with cocktail sauce and coleslaw -fish & chips -three cheese quesadilla with sour cream and salsa -chicken flautas -one beer -one mixed drink And our total? $28! We were STUFFED. Service was friendly. Our receipt listed a website where we could fill out a short survey and receive a $20 gift card. Survey took 3 minutes to fill out. I consider yummy food, good service and saving money a winning combination.

I've been here a few times, as well as the one downtown, and their food never disappoints me. The fish is always prepared to perfection, never overdone. My fave is the Wild Salmon Saute, with asparagus, hazelnuts, cranberries, chantrelles, etc. Yummy! The clams and oysters are also divine. The service at both locations is always top-notch, whether I'm with one person or ten. The staff always seem calm, friendly, and eager to make you comfortable. For example, at a recent birthday party, our waiter let us bring in our own cake (with no advance notice) and eagerly helped us with plates, forks, slicing, etc. That said, here's why I'll only give it 3 stars: 1) It's a chain. I'd simply rather support my local restauranteur. 2) The wine list (by the glass) is rather limited, in my opinion. I think there are only 10 or so to choose from by the glass. 3) My husband ordered a $30 plate of hazelnut-encrusted halibut because he loves halibut. He was expecting something...well, worth $30. It was good, but just like any other halibut, so they should have charged less. 4) Drinks are way, way too expensive. $8 for a 5 oz. pour of wine? $14 for 8 oz? Hang on, do the math here...that doesn't seem right to me. Maybe $12 for 8 oz. I don't know. My husband's pint of Guinness was $8. That's retarded. It's a good place for happy hour and special occasions, but otherwise, I'd prefer to go elsewhere.

We made a reservation for 7 but arrived at 6:45. We were seated right away and given menus. It took nearly 15 minutes before we were acknowledged at all by a server. We asked for drinks and an appetizer which took another 15 minutes to arrive. 12 minutes into our wait an older gentleman server said we looked ready (probably more like annoyed) and asked if we had been helped. We said we had and were waiting on our drinks and appetizer. 3 minutes later they arrived. The excuse was that one of the drinks had a lot of ingredients and took a long time to make. Please. Our dinner did arrive in a more timely manner and was very good. Our server was friendly but the service itself was slow. Could easily have been the fault of the bartender or kitchen. We wouldn't even have been so annoyed if we had been acknowledged right away and had someone touch base with us when things took too long. I don't know that we will bother with this place again, it was a bit of a drive for us but we had a gift card.

This is an upscale restaurant with average food and high prices. I went to this location for dinner and found out it is higher priced than the M&S Grill. Also, some entrees offered at the other location were not offered here. I ordered the salmon and which was only ok. The bread they served was also only ok and a little hard. The server was also only ok. A lot of the people at this location were older. They do have a bar next to the restaurant, but i haven't been in there. I don't think i will go back to this one.

Okay, expexted more. wine is super expensive. Food was priced a little higher than id like but hey! i had the salmon special. it was real good. Too bad it was the price of a whole salmon at the market. im to thirfty to frequent a place like this. i need to try the happy hour maybe i will like that more. Service was excellent however, super fast and attentive but not super annoying like some places. i would go again but for the food not the beer or wine.

So I had flown to Florida over the holidays and on the return flight Alaska Air was running about 5 hours behind schedule. As a means of compensation they handed out $25 gift certificates to McCormick & Schmicks restaurants which provided my excuse to go. So after sampling some of the great food in Portland over the last few months I had a chance to go to what I am now thinking of as a Grandma restaurant. You know the place you take your whole family since it is safe and everyone can find something to order (i.e. well done steak for the unadventurous). I had salmon stuffed with shrimp and crab with vegetables on the side. It was decent and the atmosphere was pleasant but I can not help but think if you are going to drop $25 on an entree your money can go much farther. Just looking over some of my past reviews I know that Roux, Papa Haydn and Andina would give you a superior culinary experience for about the same amount of money. Overall this place is a safe but boring bet...

If this place was graded only on its happy hour it would be an easy 5 star. I recently went to Stanfords with my girl to indulge in some happy hour. Now maybe its just me but when I was 17 and had a fake ID, the Stanfords happy hour seemed to be a time where good meals and decent portions were sold at clearance prices and now, after my last experience it seems like it should be called "Come sit in the bar while and you can order off the kids menu- hour". The artichoke dip is good, but does its $3 price really warrant the hour in which its sold to be considered "happy"? Enter McCormick's in Beaverton. Yes my fellow yelpers, the decor was probably pretty sweet back in 1985, so its a good thing nothing has been changed since. By appearance I would never consider this to be a nice restaurant. But you don't come here for a special occasion you come here because it is between the hours or 3pm-6pm. The Hours that fall between 3pm and 6pm truly qualify to be labeled as Happy. $1.95 1/2 pound cheesebuger and fires, add bacon for $1. Fish Taco s for $2.95, a huge Nacho for $2.95... the list goes on. Everything on the menu appears to be the same portion size as if you ordered it any other time. The good percentage of the crowd here is older, 50's-60's so you might have to deal with overhearing arguments about Mattlock or discussions about what was on Fox News, but its so much better then dealing with some of the spiked haired, button-up shirt wearing deuce bags that you would would get to see at Standfords, Henry's or PCG during there Happy Hour. And that just makes this place better. for $20 two people can have beers and burgers and at the end be full. Not a place I would go for dinner but a top choice for cheap eats.

Ate there for the first time tonight. I thought it was excellent. The staff was all smiling and friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the shrimp and scallop fettuccine alfredo. I would definitely order it again.

I was a frequent flyer back and forth from CA to Oregon. On one of the flights, they passed out $20 off coupons as a promotion. I figured, hey, $20 off! So I came to the restaurant with my gf figuring I'll enjoy some good seafood and get away with a decent bill. wrong and wrong. first of all, the seafood was very plain, and I'm using the word generously. I'm no cook, but I'm pretty sure I can put a piece of salmon in an oven and have it come out tasting the same as the salmon i was served. I don't remember what my gf had, but she definitely wasn't impressed either. See, the problem with having seafood is, if it's not that great, it's not really worth eating. You can oooh and ahhhh about the omega-3 fatty acid and the various other health benefits, but let's not kid ourselves, bad tasting fish = bad tasting fish. Anyways, it took forever to get our water filled and for the desert to come. Overall a very average experience, but factoring in the fact it's supposed to be a nice restaurant, I'd take it down to 2.5 stars if i could.

Had not been there for dinner in a while. Food bland no flavor and greasy. Sauces were oily and without flavor. Tried one entree and returned for a more expensive entree upsold by server. Got charged for the more expensive upsold item and not for the lower priced entree which I wanted in the first place. So..... no plans to go back. Really disappointed. Great service but cannot makeup for the bad food experience.

My husband and I ate here when we first moved to Portland. We had been unpacking and setting up house all day and were exhausted, grimy, and very hungry. Not knowing what restaurants were in the area, we stopped here. Though a little under dressed, no one seemed to mind. The food was delicious, some of the best seafood we've had in Portland (not the coast though). Our waiter was awesome, very attentive and very humorous. It is a bit pricey, but it's worth it. We need to go back for some yummy lobster.

Definite standby. Yes, even its suburban location. This is where I always take clients for lunch. It never fails. Basic, fresh, *good* seafood. If you're a sourdough fan, you're in luck. Go for their happy hour. 4 - 6:30 pm & 9 pm - close. Seriously? $2-$3 appetizers--this includes full-size burgers, people! Don't expect great service from the servers in the bar during this time. The bartenders, though? Now that's a different story. They're pretty much all old school and can mix up anything you might throw at them, or choose from their crazy drink menu. It also doesn't hurt that once when I was there, Sean Penn and his leather bomber and flowing coiffe brushed past me. If it's good enough for Sean and his entourage, it's good enough for me. Update: I think Zun Y. is right about the happy hour times. I do believe 3-6 is right, even though the website says otherwise. Also, service there during regular hours in the main dining area is consistently impeccable.

Where to start! I"ll begin with the one positive thing...really nice waiter. Very friendly and funny. The food was, well awful. Especially for the price. So we went for a late lunch. We each had one cocktail and probably should have had more to get through this meal. We ordered a jumbo shrimp cocktail and it looked great and I scarfed down one and the next one I took a closer look at....so you know how you are supposed to clean the shrimp to get rid of all the brown stuff? You know what I'm talking about right without me having to go into more detail? So yea, that was all there and didn't look like it had been cleaned at all so I put it back and didn't touch anymore. Next was lunch. I shared a crab salad with one of the people I was with. It came out looking all pretty and professional, but it was terrible. The salad dressing had no flavor, the crab tasted frozen and had no flavor and the iceberg lettuce underneath it was all translucent and turning brown and had no crunch left in it. It was gross. I forced myself to have two bites and then didn't touch the rest. The three of us then got two desserts to split. So for 3 drinks, one appetizer, 3 meals and 2 desserts The total came to over $90. I can't believe a place charges prices like that for such low quality food. Oh and I left hungry which really pissed me off.

Has gone downhill, way downhill. Went in in afternoon to get a quick drink an app and a little sumpthin sumpthin. First, the Bloody Mary was decent, but honestly I've had much much better for half the price. Second, ordered the Carpaccio....it came out with massive slices of red onion all over it, some sort of greens, and shaved parm; it was, however, completely frozen as was the plate. Now it's obvious it was prepped earlier, then thrown in the freezer and served. I guess I can understand that it was prepped at an earlier time, but that also signifies that they are taking shortcuts in the kitchen. Told server it was frozen, she was sweet and apologetic, no worries with her I know she didn't make the food. When it came out again, it was completely different. No onions, some kind of sauce that wasn't with the first dish, and no greens. It was literally meat, sauce and a piece of bread that wasn't even toasted. For the money get ur booty out of the travesty of a town that is Beaverton and go to literally 100's of restaurants that are much better and not a chain of corporate thieves.

I don't have the heart to give them two stars, but it's not really three-star stuff either. The food is OK as far as seafood goes, but it's pretty unimaginative. I know...it's not that kind of place, but you've got to have SOMETHING to keep people coming in this day and age. I just don't see it here. I had heard that the owner's are struggling with a real identity crisis as well - it shows. I imagine that this is the kind of place that my grandparents would take me to as their version of a "fancy" restaurant that screams a wee bit too stuffy and overpriced for what you're really getting. I mean really...we're how far from the sea and we're paying through the nose for seafood that's just OK? No thanks.

We like eating at this restaurant. They have very good service in general though I have had some slow service a couple of times. If you join the Preferred Guest Program, there are many perks that will pay many times over for the enrollment fee. We have tried many of the dishes and I liked most of them. The lunch specials are excellent. I normally get a fish dish and it has always been delicious.

i had never been there before, so we tried it. they greeted us nicely & the waitress seemed knowledgeable. after getting us our drinks though, she mostly disappeared. the calamari was great...the grilled salmon that my husband had was wonderful, the scallops on risotto that i had on the other hand could use some work. the scallops were underdone...& the sweetness they added to the risotto was great, had it not been going with seafood. we finished our meals & wanted to order dessert & had to wait almost 15 min for the waitress to say over her shoulder as she's walking away "i'll be there in a minute". the fruit bowl that my son had was completely disgusting! i realize that putting cut fruit in water will preserve their life, but you're not supposed to leave it in there until the fruit tastes like water!! as soon as we ordered dessert, the waitress cleared our table. while this might be a courteous thing, a "would you like me to clear this out of here for you" or "do you mind if i take this out of your way" would have been nice before leaning over the table to reach the plates in the back. unfortunately, the best smile & eye contact i got from my waitress was when she handed me the bill..... i hate to say it & it is definitely a first for me.....i tipped nothing. i will not be back.

Just got home from the last meal we will "enjoy" at McCormick's in Beaverton. First of all the service was great--food--eh. We used to come here all the time, and I truly enjoyed the Petrale sole with the Parmesan crust. It used to be wonderful. We hadn't be here in quite a while, after a few disappointing meals, but had a coupon for $20, so gave it a whirl. I ordered the sole ($21), my husband order a salmon fillet, we split a salad and I had one glass of wine (the only non alcoholic beer available was O'Doule's so he passed). The sole was sliced about 1/4 inch thick with lots of breading so I'm guessing the serving amounted to about 2 ounces, and that's being generous. Could not taste the fish at all. The breading was overwhelming. There were a few green beans served with the fish (I seem to recall a generous portion of garlic mashed potatoes in the past). So for $21 I got a dab of fish and a handful of green beans. Not good! We got $20 off our $60 tab, but for $40 plus tip it was a real rip off.

Was there couple of times. Caeser Salad: pretty good, but pricey ($8.50) Shrimp Scampi Linguini: Decent Sizzling Atlantic Salmon (chef's special): Pretty good. Very good service. Note that they charge to-go (5% i think): which I was surprised that they did not mention during the order.

Over the years I've stopped at McComick's on SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway with friends hoping to take in their offerings only to find them so popular I couldn't even find a parking spot. Busy restaurants, at least those that have been around past the Hipster-gotta-check-it-out-before-everyone-else-has-so-I-can-be-hip phase, are typically a good sign they they're worth waiting for. So last night, somewhat on a whim but mostly in the hopes of quenching my wife's insatiable hunger for salmon, I flipped on the blinker and was pleased to easily find a spot. We walked in, were quickly seated, and perused the menu. I'm admittedly not a fishy person so I'll begin by stating I should not be considered the penultimate critic of seafood restaurants. To me lobster is an overly expensive medium for transferring salt and butter into my big fat American mouth, theater popcorn being a better and slightly more affordable means of delivering on that promise. I nearly went for the steak and lobster but felt like something lighter and healthier so instead opted for a bowl of clam chowder (something I can never pass up when it's on the menu) and the Romano Chicken Chop Salad. My wife, on the advice of our waiter, ordered Cedar Roasted Atlantic Salmon with a cup of chowder. And because my wife and I can be such lushes when eating out she had an Appletini and I ordered my usual double shot of Jack Daniels, neat. As we waited I formalized a theory of reviewing restaurants based solely on beverage service. Though the restaurant was far from busy it took five minutes to order drinks and another ten or so before they arrived. My wife didn't respond with the usual "Mmmmmm!" as she sipped on her Appletini and while Jack is Jack I was a bit surprised by how my double looked more like a sad little single. We nursed them slowly, finished them, then, once we were able to flag down the waiter, ordered another (at least I did). I sipped at that one, enjoying my accustomed go-to liquor of choice and realized I was starting to get a buzz. That's where the alcoholic theory of Yelp! Reviews comes in: If a restaurant isn't packed, your food hasn't arrived, but you've been able to get a decent buzz, then something's amiss. At most restaurants a bowl of soup is big enough to be considered a light but filling meal. My bowl wasn't big enough to contain twice of what my wife had in her cup. Fortunately I'd ordered a meal and likewise, the price difference between a bowl and a cup was negligible. Still, it wasn't what I'd considered a bowl of soup. The complimentary bread finally arrived and while it was also good it was nothing to write home about (I probably wouldn't have eaten any if I hadn't ordered chowder to dip it in). Our main courses are what established the substantial differences between this McCormick's and the one down on the Portland waterfront that I've been to a dozen times. The prices and service are pretty much identical, but at the downtown one I can expect to get slightly more generous drink portions as well as the highest quality foods presented with some sense of flare. I suppose that's one reason I prefer eating downtown, the competition forces restaurants to take that extra little bit of effort that many in the Beaverton and Hillsboro area just don't. And maybe watching a little bit too much Gordon Ramsey has made me more critical when I eat out but he's right, for $17 the chicken should taste fresh, not as if it had been frozen then gently deep fried, and you should never find the junk parts of food, in this case a large chunk of browning lettuce stem hiding underneath the finely diced salad. I don't even feed that piece of lettuce to my pet guinea pigs! My wife, on the other hand, said her salmon was amazing and it really did look fresh and natural, so they did succeed in that respect. Hurray! I can't say how much I hate giving bad reviews; like you I'd much rather walk out of a restaurant with a happy mouth, stomach, and pocket book. But a chain, in my humble opinion, should be consistent and frankly the quality of food and menu wasn't up to muster when compared to their downtown counterpart. Speed of service wasn't abysmal but wasn't exactly good considering they were far from packed. The Hispanic water waiter was top notch so you'll never run out (he may also be the only person to smile at you so take advantage of it!). They do seem to focus their attention on the quality of their fish, so if that's what you're in for you'll likely walk out with happy taste buds. On the other hand the inconsistencies in quality from one dish to the next may leave your non-salmon loving family and friends wondering why their spendy chicken salad tasted more like something from a McDonald's drive through.

Now I know why I've never been. I've lived in the area for a long time and I realized that I've never been here. I think I figured out why. The drink menu is very creative. Lots of fun selections, but way overpriced. Actually let's not BS around here. The food is not terrible. It is just extremely overpriced. Every item that hit the table reminded me of how much I was being ripped off. I appreciate the finer things, but if I'm going to pay that much for a meal it has to absolutely sing and look like a plate of food that warrants that cost. I got the beef and scampi. Actually a good price because it was on the special. The beef was not done well at all. Medium rare does not mean an average between pieces at that are rare and pieces that are medium well. It came with mashed potatoes. They were literally just mashed potatoes. Salt? Pepper? Butter? Come on guys. My wife got the Cobia special. It was a brown and white plate, no color, no fresh elements and a nasty over vinegary sauce that kind of ruined a decent piece of fish. Bottom line that that a restaurant like this cannot get away with charging what they do and putting out the product that they do. Besides it's the suburbs of Beaverton, I'm not paying your rent too. Our service was very good, but really that was the only thing about this place that would warrant it's high costs.

I can't remember ever eating at a McCormicks & Schmicks before, and I must say I'm quite surprised. I wasn't expecting anything anywhere near so upscale. We went there for dinner to celebrate a late birthday. We didn't have a reservation but we arrived before 6pm and they were not yet busy. The two greeters looked at us slightly annoyed when we arrived because one member of our party had a small service animal, but we were seated right away. The restaurant was very very clean, as well as the bathrooms. The service and food were perfect, as was the pace of the meal. Typically, I've experienced that more expensive restaurants tend to have smaller serving sizes but the portions were fairly large so several of us ended up taking home leftovers. We had two appetizers, one shrimp and one oyster. Both were delicious. I also had a candied walnut salad, which was also very good. The bread was a bit hard on the edges, but was tasty. The bread does not come with the salad or appetizer, but with the meal, which to me feels a little out of order, but I've noticed that other restaurants also serve bread this way now too. I had the Parmesan chicken for my meal, and it was really delicious. The breading was very light, not dry and not greasy. We had dessert, one lava cake with ice cream, one creme brulee with fruit, they were good but we were far too full by then. The food and service is worth it, and if it wasn't so expensive, we'd be back, but unfortunately I am not sure I can afford it.

My Husband and I decided to try last Sunday for Happy Hour. I've been to McCormick and Schmick before in other areas and was never disappointed. First, I'd like to say our Server was great, very much on the ball, and attentive to our needs. The bar was freezing, several people were going to their cars for jackets. The drink prices were decent for Happy Hour. The food prices were good but the food wasn't. We ordered the hummus, it was delicious, although it was served with deep fried pita chips. They had an old grease taste to them. We also ordered the Buffalo shrimp, that was fried too, we didn't eat, and then decided to try the quesadilla, instead of lightly browning the outside, it too was fried and greasy, inside cajun chicken was in a greasy sauce of onion and peppers. The tuna, and the edamame were good. Based on the chefs style of cooking I don't think we will return.

We were here Saturday. My daughter ordered the strawberry pie. Rather than having a strawberry purée beneath it, they put the ice cream pie on a bed of COCKTAIL SAUCE. Possibly the grossest thing I've ever encountered. Obviously oblivious to it, my daughter took a huge bite. And when we pointed out to the waiter, he replaced it, but still charged us for it. Cheap, gross and inexcusable.

Last December my husband and I brought our son to dinner before he headed back to school. We sat in the empty bar and ordered dinner. Service was poor and food was cold. I spoke to the manager who asked me to come back in. My husband and I did so last night and met the manager. We ordered pretty much the same except this time there were 2 of us - not 3. I received the bill to find only the main dish was covered - nothing else so I was a bit surprised - thought they really wanted to make the previous meal right. I paid the remaining bill $44 plus tip on the entire bill. My birthday was 3/31 so thought I would have my $25 birthday money on my card. Nope - expired already! Really??? Don't think I will return - such bad customer service!!!

Husband and I went there for late night happpy hour at 9pm. There were only two other couples there. A bartender and one other staff was there. Apparently, neither one was interested in working or servicing us. They avoided eye contacts as we were trying to get serviced. I guess that explains why this place is going down hill. I'll take my business else where. Not returning.

I have not been for nearly two years, but I used to be a regular during visits to my parents, I'd rate it 4 STARS then for the food and efficient service w/ my elderly parents. I no longer go to Beaverton, because of their photo-cam traffic enforcement. A meal w/ a sloppy rolling right turn traffic slip up there can cost $300 in fines, and more for insurance increases. Not directly M&S's fault I know, but while Beaverton tickets it's way to profit, M&S and other businesses pay for it with lost business due to the big brother bad kharma of driving to/from the biz!

Only gave it a 3 star because of the prices. It adds up very fast. Food is a 4 star. We had a reservation on a weekday at 6 pm. We were about 10 minutes early. No problem, she sat us immediately. Our server was great. Answered all our questions, checked on us regularly but not too much. They were very good about staggering the seating as not to seem crowded and very intimate. Good selection on the menu. I wanted crab and could not find it. I asked about a crab louie? She checked with kitchen and they said that they could do that for me. It was very good and plenty of crab. My Mom and wife had almond crusted trout..It was very good and no bones! The sides of green beans, orzo and squash. the squash was very under cooked and so it was very hard. My son had the sword fish, which he said was very good. Also a cup of chowder, which was very good. Carful of the price, it's a small cup.

We've been to this restaurant many times in the last 15 years, but this time is the last. We were there Friday April 11, 2015 7-9 pm and there were a lot of empty tables. On a Friday night?! This place used to be packed, with people waiting outside. Not any more. For good reason apparently. Why? The food is over priced for the quality served. It simply isn't worth it. We can go to Stanford's and get the same meal for damn near half the cost.

We came here for a late dinner and it happened to be happy hour. We sat in the bar area. It was pretty packed but not so much that we couldn't find a table. The service was slow. It took a really long time for our waitress to come to us and then longer for water to arrive. Longer still for our drinks to come after that. However the wait time between ordering food and getting our food was pretty quick. I ordered the baja fish tacos from the happy hour menu and also the calamari to share with the sweetheart. He ordered fish and chips from the dinner menu. The fish tacos were good and the sauce was delicious. There isn't anything very intricate about deep fried fish. The calamari was okay. There were other fried food items in there. There was a pickled jalapeño which surprised me because I was expecting calamari. There was a piece of french fry and I don't know if it was meant to be there or just a stragglers from a previous fry. I want to believe it was meant to be there but it tasted like a straggler (fried too long and too many times). All in all, the sauces that came with both dishes were delicious. The fish itself was fine. The calamari was mediocre. The service could have been a little more prompt. Would I come back here again? If invited, yes but of my own volition, no.

My party visited this location as an after theater late night stop last evening on our way home after visiting Portland Center Stage. The bar was not crowded we we thought was great so we could talk together about the theater experience. The late night menu was great and the drinks were great except for two small exceptions that marred our visit. The young women that was waiting on us seemed really inconvenienced by our visit - she was ready to be done... The drinks were delivered in a timely fashion and our food arrived nicely. BUT we were really made to feel like the staff was waiting for us to leave this was not at 2:00 am it was Saturday night at 10:30 pm. We ordered another round of drinks and some of our party wanted to order additional food, when the food burger it was obvious the kitchen had not bothered to cook additional fries as there were hardly any on this second order. Again this was not all that late it was 10pm when we ordered the second round of food and drinks! I mentioned the lake of fries to the server and asked that she relay my concern to the kitchen, we received no additional fries and no further comment from the server or the kitchen on this matter. This is a very small detail but it did not leave me with warm and fuzzy feeling to visit this location again for dinner or for a late night destination in the Burbs. I guess I'd be better off sticking with Jake's in downtown Portland in the future.

A classic menu with wonderful selection! There were many things that I wanted to try. I had the Steel Head Salmon. Nice oily salmon that had an excellent crust that gave a crunch. It was served with spinach and vegetables all cooked perfectly. good portion and worth the amount you pay.

I have lived in the area for a year now and finally made it down to McCormicks. I was excited to have some good seafood without going downtown or to the coast. I should have waited until I was at the coast. The service was very slow. We didn't have a reservation but we were there at 5pm on a Monday so it was ok. The hostess didn't seem to know what she was doing and said she had to talk to her manager first. The manager was on a phone call and didn't deem it important to put it on hold for the customers waiting in her restaurant. The hostess sat us anyway. We were sat in a booth near the window. The booths were not very cozy and every time the person in back of you shifted in their seat, the whole bench moved. Every time the lady behind me cut her dinner, the booth would shake underneath me. Not quality construction here folks. The restaurant was also freezing. And not just a little cold. We kept looking around for an open window. I kept my coat on except for when I was eating. The waitress finally came to take our order and then brought the bread. The bread tasted like it had been left out since the night before. It nearly crumbled in my hand because it was so dry and the crust was nearly impossible to chew. I had two bites with LOTS of butter, as I was hungry and was willing to eat anything at this point. The mixed greens salad came out first. Good mixture of gorgonzola and candied walnuts but there was waaaay too much dressing for my taste. Great flavors here, just not in good proportions. As I was finishing my salad, the waitress returns to tell me they are out of the Rockfish I ordered. She waited until the moment when I thought the entree would be coming out to tell me that I have to order something else?? And how can they be out when it was only 5:30 at this point? So, I ordered the parmesan crusted sole instead. By the time the entree finally came, I was starving. I was looking forward to the crispy flaky fish and butternut squash orzo that came with it. I was sorely disappointed. The sole tasted like a giant fish stick. I ate those things a lot as a kid and I felt like I was 8 years old again. There was NO flavor to the fish at all. Luckily, my husband didn't want his tarter sauce that came with his fish and chips so I had something to flavor it with. The butternut squash orzo was no better. There were maybe 10 tiny, tiny pieces of squash in the dish and they were crunchy like they were barely cooked. The orzo had no other flavor to it except for maybe some butter and a small amount of parmesan. Very bland. The dish also came with a side of green beans, which were chewy and rubbery, and had NO flavor as well. I choked down about half of my meal before I just couldn't eat any more. I was just looking forward to at least a good dessert. We ordered the molten chocolate cake. I'm not very picky about desserts, because, well.... chocolate! How hard is it to screw that up? I should have known. The poor thing looked like it was cooked yesterday in a cupcake pan. It was DRY and slightly chewy. There was no "molten" center to speak of and the only reason I could choke down two bites was because of the chocolate sauce on top, which tasted eerily like Hershey's syrup from the bottle. (We had it without the ice cream, but I think the ice cream would have helped to mask the dryness). I think this may be the only dessert I've ever voluntarily not finished. That's saying something. I will not be back here again. I left here still very hungry and much poorer. I would eat Long John Silver's over this place. At least if I'm eating terrible seafood, I'm not spending a small fortune in the process.

We've been McCormick's fans since the 90's and eat at one whenever we travel to Portland. Saturday April 18, 2015 visit was our first time to the Beaverton location. Overall, I'm rating it 4 stars but it came close to a borderline three. I don't begrudge Mccormick's prices usually because of the attention to detail, but it wasn't there in Beaverton last night. "The Wedge" salad is one example; fresh matters for this and the lettuce was not. Noticeably cooler Chips than Fish was another thing that disappointed for the price charged. A couple other examples will sound like nitpicking, so I'm giving them the 4 but will go with a different location next time.

I had high hopes for this place. In the desert that is west side dining, it was nice to walk I somewhere that didn't feel like a fast food restaurant, order a nice glass of wine, and hope for the best. We arrived at 5:00, ordered from the 3-course early bird menu, and by 6:30 we were walking out with them offering to box our dessert because it still hasn't arrived. The lag time in service and between courses would have been more manageable if the food didn't taste like it had been sitting under a warmer or if our server, Tesla, had given us any indication of why things were taking so long, but it did and and she didn't. As we were leaving the staff was apologetic and Tesla explained that our ticket had been lost, but there was no offer to comp any part of our meal. Needless to say we will not be going back. PLEASE, somebody, open a decent restaurant on the west side!!! Such an awesome place to live and a terrible place to dine.

Decent Chef's entree option M-F. Includes salad/soup, entree and dessert. Petrale sole seemed a little over breaded and mushy. Walnut blue cheese salad and clam chowder was good. After an initial salty bite of scampi linguini, it was good and filling. Decent kids menu that kept the little one happy. The busser started clearing our table and offering to go boxes which was kind of strange. Our main waiter was good.

Nice place for happy hour, great deals and lots of food. I would come back again. We tried: Mussels: don't get it, it was very fishy Flatbread pizza: Very yummy and filling can easily share Calamari: There were more fried veggies than squid Fish taco: Very tasty and flavorful Sweet Potato fries: Average bruschetta: Very fresh and tasty

It was dead when I went, which is ok. I'm not there to people watch, I was there to O.D on seafood. I had about 5 different appetizers' and a main course. I wasn't too impressed with the meals but they had enough flavor for me to finish them off. Some dishes were overcooked(seared ahi), while others were not made correctly.

Took my grandmother here, decent service but terrible food, they don't list what they put in their salads, use way too much vinegar, I ordered tea with honey, the honey was so old it was solid. I wrote on my receipt that they need to learn how to cook

Had lunch with a colleague since our rooms weren't ready at each of our hotels. Went in here craving something that was of the town's special seafood (at least at the moment): steelhead. I was a little scared to try something new so I got the Salmon Pasta.. Which was orzo with spinach, artichokes and asparagus. And a good chunk of salmon. My colleague's was steelhead on top of the same orzo. Could not capture the taste of what they put in the orzo but it was delicious! We had two servers since one gentleman was on his 2nd day so our servers were helping each other. They were soo patient and hospitable from us Californians. Amazing service -- I would definitely return :)

Not what it used to be-apparently they are proud to measure out the small amount of wine they give you by the glass right in front of you-for 8-9 dollars- perhaps they would have some sense and not give you a large wine glass that isnt a third filled- asked for rice instead of potatoes and i got the lowest grade white sticky rice-like a third rate chines rest-salmon was decent- the waiter was the same- slow and disingenuous---add a small bowl of soup and one salad for 120 dollars for three people-??! I have had much better!

I have only come in here for lunch so I can't speak to the dinner and happy hour, although I fully plan on coming back to check out both. I came in ready to get some soup to start and some fish & chips for my meal. I ordered the lobter bisque because I'm a huge fan of lobster bisque and I start to order more food. The waitress stopped me and said to get the soup first, then see how I feel after. She said it's incredibly filling and can be a meal in itself. First, I cannot tell you how awesome it is to find a waitress who is so truthful. Instead of worrying about her tip and letting me order more food and build a bigger bill, she actually gave me great advice because, believe me, that soup was a meal in itself. If that wasn't enough, the soup was delicious. Probably the best lobster bisque I've had in years, outside Rhode Island. That's saying something. It was nice and salty, which may put some people off, but I am a salt person so I enjoyed it immensly. It comes with a good amount of lobster and some croutons. So, so good. I will review other meals I eat there, but for now I am a fan.

An expensive and negative experience with McCormick's. In August, 2013 we attended an evening seminar at McCormick's. The next morning we noticed a dent in the driver's side of our Jeep. That evening I returned and spoke with the restaurant Manager, Cindy, and she brought out the kitchen manager. 10' from where we parked was a chain link gate to the trash bins. While they watched, I opened the gate until it almost touched the dent. She said "that is too close to be a coincidence". It was clear to them the kitchen help mishandled the gate when taking out the trash. She took photos and filled out paperwork for corporate. The cost to repair the dent was $1,400. After months of runaround, our insurance company got involved. 8 months later, McCormick's offered to reimburse us for only the $750 deductible. This is unethical and irresponsible and they will lose business from our insurance company and the financial company holding the seminar and many others. What an awful experience with McCormick's for such a small amount of money.

Went to a company holiday party over the weekend. Ordered a medium rare filet, came out rare. Filet was very tasteless as well. Mashed potatoes seemed to be the instant type. Just not a very good quality of food. Also, we had a tab for beer which totaled $22. Suggested tip was $4.40. Decided to tip $3 instead of their suggested amount, they charged me $29.40 = $22.00 + $4.40 + $3. I will be calling as my signed receipt specifically stated I was tipping $3 and I wrote a total of $25.

We had the perfect seafood dinner last night. We ordered oyster shooters for appetizer and it was fresh and amazing. We got Oregon Rockfish and McCormick's Seafood Trio. Everything was cooked perfect. The fish and shrimp were fresh and well seasoned. Our server was very attentive as well. We will definitely go back there for a sumptuous seafood dinner.

I am obliged to eat here often for business. I rarely enjoy the food. I recently ordered Halibut as a fish of the day and it actually arrived completely undercooked, Sent it back only to have a few ounces of cooked tail as a replacement. It was not good. And was pricey. The only good thing I have to say is that the staff is generally postitve and responsive. Wish I did not need to eat here ever again.

Used to be my favorite upscale restaurant - but my last 2 visits were sub par and I will probably never return. My last dinner there had uncooked swordfish and everything else was cold. I looked around and noticed they no longer had the mature and professional staff they once had. I recently returned for a lunch with my wife thinking it would be less expensive and a good value. High priced with very small portions and food was only fair. It is sad that this once great place has gone so far downhill.

It's been awhile since I've been here. Wow they have made some changes. I don't what people are saying about this place going downhill but wow the food we got was excellent! DH & I both ordered steelhead but he got the one doused in Horsey sauce and man what was that good! Great combination. I think it inspired him to make some things at home and play with the panko crusting- thats all it was, panko crust and horseradish sauce! Yummers! I got the grilled steelhead and ate all of it, I put it down in a fashion you would think I would not have tasted it.. but I did and it was scrumptious! Mine came with aspargus and mashed potatoes, I pretty much ate it all! Was a fabulous meal and I enjoyed it immensely. I loved the bartender, he was funny and us being seated at the bar guaranteed great service. I am soo glad we stopped in. I decided on this place after mulling about dinner for most of the evening. Hard to do when you are at the gym and thinking about what is for dinner. Expensive but worth every penny.

Well, the best part of the meal was the dessert. Thank goodness this was mostly paid for with a gift card. I've been to a few M&S establishments and this one is at the bottom. The best chowder I ever had was years ago in Seattle. Tonight's was good and typical of recent years, just not over the top good. The meal was blah, the sparkling wine mostly flat. I know it was by the glass, but still, for a supposed higher end place, they could do better. For the prices, I have a higher expectation. On the plus side, the staff was very good.

Over the years, many meals here. The service is always highly professional. It seems like there are many long time servers- that's good, because they are highly skilled. Food quality is always spot-on. Calamari was oh-so yummy! Our meals were a good solid "7". I've had a "10" here before, but not tonight. We will be back again, because you can count on a consistently good experience. Oh sure, nothing is perfect, but this restaurant has varsity players that will make you feel welcome provide you with a very nice meal for a reasonable price.

Late dinner and it is nice and quite with the exception of the 80th birthday party that sounds like a 25th birthday party. Food was great. Very flavorful food. Ribeye is the bomb. Wedge salad was good. Shrimp cocktail was good too. Dessert ... not so good. They were out of creme brulee because the birthday party took it all. Had cheesecake instead. Not so good. Millionaire coffee was delicious. Highly recommend for after dinner drink.

You wouldn't come here for any exquisite food. You're coming here for the relaxing atmosphere, fancy drinks and private dining. My friends and I had a room all to ourselves when we hosted a bachelorette dinner party. The room was spacious and the waiter was kind. We ordered a round of colorful-tasty drinks and settled on whatever sounded appetizing as our main course. I was not blown away by my fish dinner. It was a filet fish over white rice and veggies, with a sweet and sour glaze. The fish was a bit dry and the rice overpowered the entire dish. The best part was the glaze... and the presentation. Overall, this place was a little overpriced for the quality of food. However, it's a great place for a large party.

Review is for HH only (which oddly, like 90% of other places is only served in the bar area so dinging a place because you don't read & expect them to comp you for your lack of reading is absurd). GOOD happy hour foodwise. We ordered ourselves some hummus, clam strips & the infamous (I guess?) burgers along with some grown-up drinks. The hummus was surprisingly good, though warmed up pita bread would've been nice. It also came with olives, cucumbers & tomatoes. Yum yum. Clam strips were tasty, well cooked and had a nice dipping sauce. But let me tell you about the burgers. Yeah, so those aren't just HH burgers. I was expecting McMenamin-type burgers but no. These are huge, full up, cooked-to-order $3 burgers. WITH well cooked fries. WHAT. I said what. It was amazing. Service was good, a bit too perky for my likes but I am a cynic and prefer waiters/waitresses to not be chatty. So the minus is for the drink costs. Not uncommon that there was no drink specials but $5.50 for Sam Adams is not cool guys. No way, no how not even if it's in the fancy Sam Adams designed glass. Buzzkill! But yeah, HH is pretty dang good.

Still lousy service, booths are crowded if you are little overweight, and the food is not even average good, too many good restaurants in Beaverton, AND this was once the best, seems a shame that management allowed this great place to disappoint customers.

We enjoy coming here and have been for many years. We usually show up in the bar and enjoy a late lunch. Every time I have oysters. Though there is less variety than earlier years you can still count on Washington or British Columbia oysters. There are several good salads. Today I had the wedge. I also had a small order of mussels, good not great. My wife had a seafood combination of salmon and shrimp which she thought was great. She was happy with the molten lava chocolate cake for dessert. The change in ownership has changed the menu a little but our favorite bartender is still there and we recognize other staff we have seen for years are still there. We believe this is still a good place to go and will continue to patronize, at least for lunch.

I went to the Beaverton restaurant at 4:00 on Tuesday afternoon because I knew it would be impossible to get to the M&S located in Bridgeport; which is usually pretty good. The Beaverton location has been there since at least the mid 1970s and was a favorite during the Tektronix heyday. My guest and I sat down for happy hour snacks and a beer. The waitress was very nice but the sales order entry system was slow as snails. When we finally got a sample of the seasonal IPA, it was flat....not a good start so I went with a Sam Adams which was excellent. After what seemed like forever the two happy Hour items were served. The Margherita Flat Bread and Firecracker Shrimp was room temperature. It was like they cooked it then let it sit for 10 minuets. Very possible because the place had very few customers. I advised our waitress who took them back and promised to correct the problem. Some manager then came out, about 5 or 6 minuets later, with the same plate they took in and said "Here is your hot Firecracker Shrimp and Margherita Bread!" It was cold. The waitress came by and asked if we would like another beer and I told her the appetizers were cold and I wanted the check. After another 5 -10 minuets a lady came out, I assume it was another manager, asking if something was wrong. By this time I was pissed so I told her how it was wrong and I wanted to get my check and get the Hell out of McCormick and Schmick. She was gracious enough to take the crappy appetizers off the check. I was gracious enough to give our waitress and 20% tip-it was not her fault-and tell the manager-ette that my guest and I were headed to Hall Street. We then went to Hall Street and with the warm welcome from "Mr. P" we had a terrific time and a large but acceptable tab!

We went last night for my birthday and it was just okay. The staff is super friendly and our server was great. No complaints there. The place was extremely cold. I like it cold but I had to keep my winter wool peacoat around me. The tables have high backs so you really don't see other patrons, but from our table I could see one table where the woman had a down parka on. I couldn't see her table mate to see what they were wearing. The food was excellent, aside from the mashed potatoes which were bland. I had the chef's choice stuffed salmon. It was excellent with crab, shrimp & brie. My hubby had the seafood trio which he said was excellent too. The green beans were cooked perfect and very tasty. One of the best suggestions our server gave us was to try the shrimp kisses appetizer. It was amazing! Huge shrimp wrapped in melted pepper jack cheese and crispy bacon. We plan to make them at home. Yummy, yummy, yummy. Did I mention we went for my birthday? Well, I know we're new to the area but most places I've been to do something nice on your birthday. Maybe a free drink or dessert. Not here. The menu had Happy Birthday printed at the top and I got a candle in my dessert. That's it. The printing was small and blended in to the rest of the menu. We didn't notice it until the server suggested the appetizer - it was printed right above the appetizers. Our server didn't know it was my birthday (not his fault) even though the reservation specified it and the person who seated us knew and said happy birthday. When my hubby mentioned it to him he asked about the printing on the menu and then brought us the dessert menu. He brought the dessert with a candle on it and charged us for the dessert. Had I known it wasn't free I wouldn't of ordered it. Only because I had a birthday cake at home. Not to take away from the dessert, the key lime cheesecake was delicious! It was a large portion and I had to take half of it home. So all in all it was an okay experience. We usually go to the downtown location but decided to try this location since it's a little closer to our home. I think from now on I'll stick to the downtown one.

After many years coming to this location, we had our first poor experience here. 1- prices have doubled and portion size went down 2- no lunch value menu anymore.. Be prepared to spend 14.95 for their cafe burger 3- have to ask for bread now, they won't bring it out anymore unless you ask 4- servers is in attentive, brought wrong drinks, disappeared for 14 minutes, Dropped seafood fork and then didn't bring another. 5- shrimp cocktail came out in a small sauce dish and was about 2 ounces and was frozen in places So, wrapping this up, this was a terrible experience, and we haven't even got our entrees yet! We are yelping while we are still waiting.

The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was mediocre. I ordered stuffed salmon...not impressed, very bland and wasn't very hot. They also don't heat the bread before they serve it...so cold hard bread...wasn't impressed.

Wow what a letdown. Quality is nothing what it once was. The server was great, the salad was great, the rest just sucked. First of all no crab ? We are at a seafood restaurant in Oregon and no crab ? Maybe that is why they had Atlantic salmon on the menu and none from the Northwest. OK so no crab, I will go with the jumbo shrimp. My order comes out and I say to myself these tiny little things are jumbo for $19 ? I shut up and eat my shrimp, fries, and coleslaw which by the way is warmer than the shrimp and the fries. I take it they must have started my plate way to early and let it sit under the warmer because it was not hot at all. The wife had scampi, a red colored mashed potatoes and green beans also stone cold. Taste wise it had none I see why this place is now rated so low. A few minutes before we were getting ready to go Mike Donahue from channel six news came in with his wife and sat at the table next to ours I just about jumped up and gave him a news flash.....Leave, leave now ! This place sucks ! Too bad they use to have great food.

I am a huge fan of mccormicks and schmicks happy hour. Their fish taco, chicken quesadilla, cheeseburgers are better than the bellevue Washington location. However, mussels seem too old to me. The waitress messed up the bill and charged extra for my Sam Adams beer but that's okay. I will be back.

LIKES: -Outdoor/Indoor decor was nice & clean. -Host greeted me with a smile & walked me to my table. -The waiter introduce himself, told me about the specials & ask if I wanted to start with appetizers. DISLIKES: -The food! Since it's known for it's seafood, I started with the calamari appetizer (small serving & not much taste). I got a dinner special steak & shrimp (steak was dry & shrimp tasted bland). -Price... with the food being not what I expected, price was not worth it. I'm sure this place can step up on it's game because all in all, it's a nice friendly restaurant.

I came here with my family one night (their idea). Beforehand, I took a look at the menu online and was surprised about a few things. First, that the only salmon they had was Atlantic (as in not fresh), and that they charged way too much for this frozen fish, especially when we're in the freaking Pacific Northwest. Not really subtle that they get cheap fish and then jack up the price for customers. Second, there weren't a whole lot of options, but then again I hate when restaurants have gigantic menus, since it usually means it's a junky chain that gets their food in frozen bags. But oh well, I thought, maybe it'll just taste so delicious that the price can be almost-kind of-justified. Well, no. When we were there I decided on the sizzling salmon special with vegetables and my choice of two sauces. It did come out loud and sizzling, but it was underwhelming. The salmon was just ok, and the sauce didn't really taste like anything except salt. It was on top of a sad pile of vegetables, and that was the whole dinner. A small Atlantic salmon filet on top of some veggies for almost $30. My mom got a stuffed salmon with mashed potatoes, and that salmon was pretty good with the help of the shrimp and cheese filling, but the potatoes were bizarre. They were just plain mashed potatoes. No garlic, no cheese, no anything, which was a first to me. They didn't even come with butter. Just weird. I did give them some credit for their staff, they were very nice and professional, and thanked us on the way out. But the food is just meh, and definitely doesn't deserve the high prices. If you want good seafood, don't go here.

Since Landry bought out M&S, it's gone straight downhill. Too bad. My dining companion and I ventured in last evening, our first trip since the buy-out, an wow, what an unpleasant surprise. The long fresh seafood list has been whittled to a handful of mundane selections. The drinks were outrageously priced as well as the food. We ordered the Ultimate Seafood Platter to share which, for $32 turned out to be 5 shrimp, 2 scallops, a very small piece of salmon and a pile of orange mashed potatoes garnished with 2 potato chips. All of the seafood was over done and the shrimp were stuffed with something bready and inedible. We won't be returning. I have also advised my parents to avoid their restaurant in Cincinnati. AVOID.

This USE TO BE a great place...now they are just riding on reputation. Happy Hr the other day was disappointing. In the last couple months the have DOUBLED their happy hr prices and lowered the quality (the "famous burger" that was "the best burger deal in Portland" a $1.99 is now $4.95. Server told me prices went up last week. 200% ....a winning marketing strategy...increase price, decrease quality and top it off with poor service....OVER market and UNDER deliver. The are better deals else where...this is now a place to avoid.

Five stars for the service. I made a reservation for a small party of eight and because it wasn't a super busy night they sat us in the back dining room and let us have it all to ourselves for our small birthday dinner. The staff was amazing, very attentive, and so kind to make our little party so special. As a vegetarian it wouldn't be fair for me to rate the food because I didn't eat any of what I hear they do amazing things with (seafood and such).
