Oh, so disappointed about this one. I had heard about this chain and wanted to give it a try. A bit confusing at the ordering counter. There appears to be two lines. I ordered a standard sub, the cashier didn't ask if I wanted any of the extra's availble, just took and order and said to go over to one side. Some guy from the back made my sandwich, so I got my order before people in front of me. The sandwich was ok, but really nothing great about it. If I hadn't been so wanting to try this place, I'd have gone elsewhere. I've tried it now and that's about it.

You have to have great t**s to have fast, friendly services here. All high school boys staring at women's racks. Go to a different JJ's. Other than that, the food meets expectations. 2 stars for poor service, haven't been back since.

SLOW and INCOMPETENT! I waited for an order for an hour and a half and then had to call and cancel it. It turns out they tried to deliver it to a different address and then gave up. WTF? I'm certainly never going to try to get lunch here again. What a waste of time and money.

Not customer friendly if you ask for the (wonderful) peppers on the side it's a NO and a rude no at that. We used to eat here on the way to our boat or pick up a bunch of sandwiches to go with us NOT ANY MORE! RUDE!!!!!! I will say that right across the street is the firehouse sub shop polite happy to oblige with requests and GREAT sandwiches

Your drivers FLY threw the shopping mall parking lots. EVERYTIME I'm there one of you is breaking a traffic law or almost runs into me. I used to work at the location in Wilsonville!! I know your rules, and regulations, and I used to be in your shoes, I understand you punch in and out, but parking lots are thee WORST places to be speeding. Be more carful.

My sister asked me if I'd heard of Jimmy John's and I had not. She was telling me they much better than any Subway. OK, sounds good to me! So after taking the dogs for a nice long run in Forest Park, we headed here for lunch after. yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… We walk in the door to a very neat and clean interior with a very welcoming staff! yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… SERVICE: Two words: OMFG FAST!!! OK I guess that's really 5 words, but you get the point. We ordered and before I could get my change put away, both of our sandwiches were on the counter in front of us! Holly crap, really!?! My sister tells me it's that way every time they've been here. Plus the staff was friendly, bubbly and very helpful! FOOD: I was hungry and decided to go for the J.J. Gargantuan ($8.25) yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… ...with some hot peppers on the side. yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… This is a SANDWICH because they really put some meat on! OK the J.J. Gargantuan is really loaded, but even the regular ones have more than that other place that starts with Subwa... Like that other place, they bake their own bread on the spot too. This sandwich was VERY fresh and VERY tasty, it really hit the spot! Excuse the fuzzy photo, but here is a close up of how much meat they put on this thing! yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… OVERALL: If there was a Jimmy John's near by (the only one here in So Cal is 30 miles away!) I would definitely go there instead of that other big nationally known chain, every single time! Yeah it's that good!

I've had Jimmy John's before and the customer service has always set it apart, until now. I've recently moved and so I called the nearest store, that being the Cedar Hills one, to see if they delivered to my area. Not only did I get someone who sounded like they didnt want to be at work, the person who answered the phone, then hung up on me after I said which street I lived on... Awesome customer service.

You're literally better off spending more for the ingredients and making a sandwich at home. It wasn't bad it was just that lack luster. I mean there's nothing more I can really say it was just...boring. A few cold cuts, handful of lettuce and tiny tomatoes. The only thing I didn't get on it was mayo but I can't see that adding anything exciting. I only gave it two stars because they were very fast, just not much else. Spend a few bucks more and go across the street. They might be slower but your tastebuds will thank you.

Over the last few years I have visited a few local Jimmy John's maybe 15-20 times. I always thought their sandwiches were pretty tasty especially for the price point. Last month I received a gift card for JJ with a large amount loaded onto the card. I have been to several locations over the last month approximately 10 times. The two locations I have gone to the most are the Evergreen location and the Cedar Hills location. My review is for both locations because I have had the same problems at both. Walk in- Get greeted by a sandwich maker and they ask me what I want. I explain my sandwich and ALWAYS ask for them to cut it in half. The person starting my sandwich repeats my order and passes the sandwich down the line. I would say 7 out of the 10 times the sandwich is NOT cut in half! What is the deal? Do they like people eating their sandwiches with the backend exploding out when your halfway through it? They should be cut in half automatically. And the only reason why the few were cut in half was because I had to tell them several times as the sandwich made it down the line. Checkout- Some young person who doesn't want to be there takes my gift card. For some reason their registers have a hard time reading their gift cards. I learned something after the first time using the card when the manger had to come over. They have two scanners on the register. The NEW one and the OLD one on the upper portion of the register. The manger told me, after getting my card to work, that he kept the old scanners active because they work with the gift cards. What do you think happened after going in the next 9 times? Their employee tries scanning my gift card on the new scanner and it won't work. I have to tell them to use the old one. Several times the employees would get annoyed by me telling them to try the old one. The employees would say "it doesn't work" or "that's not a scanner." This scenario played out every time! Get new gift cards that work or train your employees better on how to scan them! My personal opinion- The place is filled with employees that are probably paid at minimum wage. Maybe hire less employees at a higher wage and they might actually care about working there. Again, this review is for both Evergreen and Cedar Hills. Same problem at both. Cut your sandwiches in half or at least listen to your customer.

"Delivery so fast you'll freak!" Except they don't deliver 1.73 miles away. Wtf! If you're going to make such a big deal about your delivery service, don't make your radius laughably small. Ridiculous.

Love their turkey Tom, I order for delivery very often and typically they're fast but there have been some times (like today) where my delivery took 30minutes. Other than that they're okay and the staff is nice.

The Unwich (lettuce wrapped low carb sandwich) option is great here. You can select any sandwich and just order it unwich style. My favorite unwich here is the Italian Night Club. Be sure to add peppers on the side, they're deliciously spicy and vinegary. This makes for a light yet very flavorful lunch. I usually submit my order online and just drive down the street to pick it up during the lunch rush to avoid the wait. They also deliver.

Taking this down a notch. I was overwhelmed by their fast service and the NEEDED option for another chain other than subway that makes a decent sandwich, but the service far outweighs the quality of the sandwich, which is decent, but far from amazing. Monkey subs or Beaverton Sub Station have better sandwiches.

2.5 Hubby and I needed sandwiches after cleaning out my dad's place (we moved him into assisted living). Hmm. Super bowl Sunday, what to do. I had qualms about coming in here but I had a plan, see. Shoot down Cedar Hills, grab sammiches, hit Coffee Rush for iced mochas, then up to Dad in his new place near St. V.Jimmy John's is right in the path. ( It is always coffee that drives my decisions, in case you don't know that about me). So. The good: Clean, fast, friendly, lots of choices, cheap meal, fresh ingredients. Fresh faced kids make sandwiches in a snap. The not great: And this is me because I am mostly blind, I would like a menu to look at other than up high on the wall.I am old. I need to hold it in front of my face. Yes, I amaware I need reading glasses.I dont lug them into fast food places because I am lazy and a little vain. I am not ready for the Granny neck chain yet either. Ahem.I didn't see a paper menu and was not offered one. I will be fair and admit I didn't ask. Did I mention I am bone tired at this point? It makes it easier to parse my choices if I can hold the menu for a minute in front of me. Their club sandwiches are all slightly different from one another and without my glasses craning my achy moving impacted neck I really did not know what I was ordering. Two sandwiches with ham, turkey, provolone, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and mayo on squishy white rolls (ugh), two bags of chips (boring choices), two cookies, added up to $19. No drinks. Not bad. Not great. Just ok. As my hubby put it as we munched in the car in dad's parking lot, adequate. He tells me after the fact there was mustard if you ask and other choices have avocado and cucumber as well as grainy bread (my markers for a good sandwich) The whole experience fit my mood. Kinda blah. Next time , (you know this will happen again) I will look at the menu online or bring in my damn glasses.

This particular Jimmy John's is located in a strip mall on the corner of Cedar Hills Boulevard and Walker Road. Kudos to this franchise for reaching out to local businesses and letting them know that Jimmy John's delivers. This outfit wants your business and has worked hard to show it. Jimmy John's has a speed and simplicity theme. Since Jimmy John's is a sandwich restaurant no doubt it will be compared to Subway. However, unlike Subway the diner is not confronted with a myriad of ingredient choices. Instead Jimmy John's offers a detailed and straightforward sandwich menu. An eight inch sub costs about $4.75 and a "Giant" sub goes for around $5.75. There was a sticker on my sandwich which said, "Subs so fast you'll freak." Boy, they weren't kidding. My sandwiches came out so fast that I thought they belonged to the guy in front of me. The employees at this location are friendly and all seem to use the same phraseology. These folks have been well trained. On our visit we tried the following sandwiches: "Pepe" and the "Gourmet Smoked Ham Club." Both very pleasant and tasty subs. With Jimmy John's you can order on-line and they also deliver. Jimmy John's is a great place to get a fast and delicious submarine sandwich.

Tuna sandwich was good but not out of this world. In my opinion not needed some salt of which they had none!!! No salt!! Seriously. Further, how gourmet is a place that doesn't offer leaf lettuce instead of shredded? Oh...and that napkin I usually need with my meal, we'll, I had to ask for one. Don't know if I will be back...first impressions matter.

Ok so I get it, something new comes in town and everyone falls in "love". They trick their taste buds and common sense into thinking this food is acceptable... I myself was pretty excited being a sandwich freak and looking for a shorter trip then Monkey subs. However I will spend the extra 10 minute drive to Moneky's any day. The bread was dry the sandwich was dry and the meat was only a small step up from subway....sick. The Portland metro area is always vulnerable to outside chains coming in and people get excited for a bit, but at the end of the day this place is just another chain with mediocre ingredients and decent service. Nothing special here to see at all. Save your money and spend more time and head to Monkey subs or even a close Big Town.

I tried to be open minded when I went here. Yes its another chain etc, but everything is worth trying once. I got the #8 roast beef. I got to tell you that the sandwich was kinda bland. Nothing in there that really caught my attention. It was decent sized portion. I would probably eat here again if I am in the area. Definatley healthier than the fast food burger joints. I rate it as just plain average. -B

jimmy john's was just alright. it was a little expensive when i could have just gone to subway. you know i might actually like subway better. although you could customize the veggies that go on your sub, they might charge you extra here there when you could just go to subway and tell them what you want. also i didn't feel like the quality of jimmy john's was that much better than subway. i don't know. i won't be coming back here unless i get a gift card or something. not worth it, too expensive.

Ugh...very let down by this place. The staff was super friendly though. The food was well below average. I gave my vegetarian sandwich a 2 out of 10...and my hubby have his ham sandwich a 7 out of 10. The french bread was overly bland and dry...not too good. Two stars for what is inside the sandwiches: cheap and not fresh. The location is actually pretty hidden...in a strip mall across from Borders.

this is basically a step up from subway. by that i mean the food is really good and cheap, but you aren't going to see anything i would refer to as "gourmet" on the menu. my fave is the #9 - italian night club. it's basically a good italian-style grinder. they also have your standard selection of tuna, turkey, ham, etc. and you can build your own sammich if you want. the big thing at jimmy john's is how fast they are. i didn't think it was possible to be faster than subway, but they are. usually they are done making my sandwich before i can pay the cashier and walk the 5 feet down the counter to pick it up. also, they deliver which is super rare out here in the burbs.

Don't bother going in; their online ordering system is easy to use, you can store your 'special order' sandwich as a 'favorite' and they really do show up quickly! Their bread is GREAT, but I always get bread taken out when I order my sandwich. We haven't had any complaints with any of the menu items we've tried: Club Lulu Bootlegger Vito's Tuna It's all good! Also...the pickles are AWESOME...and I've seen a barrel of pickles! ;o)

Good food, good prices and my God do they make those sandwiches fast. Like, I was walking over to get my soda filled and it was ready. I got myself the Billy Club & it tasted great. Fresh meant, fixin's and just the right size for the price. I hadn't heard of this place much before I came but I'm glad I tried it out. MUCH better than Subway.

One of my friends had been talking about Jimmy John's for some time now, and for the longest time, I was convinced Oregon had no Jimmy John's. Well, lo and behold, there are actually several Jimmy John's in Oregon, from Portland to Springfield to Bend. I went to one of their three Beaverton locations. Going inside, it felt just like your typical sandwich place: place your order at the window and your sandwich will be made for you. I went with an 8-inch Turkey Tom, foregoing the mayonnaise and adding Dijon mustard, for $4.75. Unlike chains such as Quizno's and Subway, you won't be able to toast your bread at Jimmy John's, nor will you get to go down the line to pick toppings. Instead, Jimmy John's prides itself on extremely fast service. It took no more than 20 seconds to get my sandwich. I think they set a world record, geez. I enjoyed the fresh vegetables in the sandwich, especially the alfalfa sprouts. And of course, the service was lightning fast. And that's basically all the positives about this place. The turkey is probably processed stuff you can get at any supermarket -- it sure as hell didn't taste like real turkey meat you'd eat at Thanksgiving. I would have liked more Dijon mustard in the sandwich, because all I mostly tasted fresh vegetables in this sandwich. Maybe it's just because I got turkey, but there was no flavor to the sandwich. How was the French bread, you ask? At least I know what the outside crust tastes like. The soft "guts" of the French bread appeared to be taken out, really leaving a void in that key soft, lush feeling of biting into great bread. The bread was room temperature anyway, so even if the pillowy insides stayed in the sandwich, it probably would just be regular French bread to me. Despite the fast service, the sandwich was absolutely pedestrian. I could make a better sandwich for myself at home if I wanted to. It can be a respectable place to go for the college student (very fast service, and Jimmy John's does deliver). I'll give Jimmy John's kudos for having fast service, appealing to the college crowd, and their low-carb option (using a lettuce wrap instead of bread). But for a foodie like myself, I'm passing on this place.

Never been inside the store but I call for delivery quite often. Its perfect for those nights where I'm to lazy to cook, or if I work late. They are always very fast, usually around 15min. My food has always been correct, and I have never been missing an item. Only thing I wish, is that they would put napkins in the bag.

We have never eaten at Jimmy Johns before. Despite all the comments about rude employees, we walk into the location off of Cedar Hills BLVD in Beaverton OR and ask the gentleman who looks like he hasn't shaved for a month if we could have a sample before we spend $30 and he said its's pre portioned and we would have to pay for it. We said we would not be ordering and he said ok. I don't understand why I should have to pay for an entire portion, as I am a customer who usually orders double meat and adds extras to my sandwiches I'm also not paying $9 for a sandwich that I don't like. Never again will I go into a Jimmy Johns, not here or anywhere!

I was steered towards this place by Lance W. After ranting and raving about it before he left town, Jimmy Johns finally opened its doors. I think my expectations were kind of sky high. My dream of it was Huge huge subs with tons and tons of meat spilling out from the side. Sorry to say that wasn't the case. Jimmy John's is like subway but with a little bit more character. Don't get me wrong, I liked my sandwich but my expectations kind of soiled the experience in a way. I ordered the #5, VITO. Italian sub, with genoa salami, provolone, capicola, onions, lettuce, tomatos and their Italian vinaigrette. I did add mayo to my sub, because whats a sammy with mayo? What makes Jimmy Johns different is their meats are sliced in house and are deli thin. which is a plus in my book. The rest of the Ingredients, veggies and sauces are fresh and crisp. The bread is baked daily on site. My Vito was a regular subs, served one size; 8 inches for $4.75. Giant club sandwiches also 8 inches but have twice the meat or cheese and are priced at $5.75. I would come back if I was in the area but probably will not drive out from Vancouver, where I'm from. I do recommend anyone who is a sandwich lover to come out to Jimmy Johns and try their version of the sub.

Jimmy Johns, it's about time you came to Portland. I remember you fondly from college towns in the midwest and was thrilled to rekindle our friendship in Seattle's Pioneer Square. Here's why I'm a fan of Jimmy Johns: - Fast service / the menu has what toppings come on the sandwich so you don't waste time telling a sandwich artist what you want. - Great potato chips / similar texture to Kettle - Great tasting bread / even their whole wheat is tasty - Jimmy Johns gets bonus points for having good typography with retro ambiance. - Mitch Hedberg (RIP) did radio commercials before his death. Link here: youtube.com/watch?v=5rRf… There's twelve more Jimmy John's coming to the Portland metro.

What kind of sandwich franchise is this ? It was absolutely disgusting. They have like 6 teenagers throwing meat and cheese on bread carelessly and wrapping them up and charging a lot for it. What I don't like is that they don't have pickles! Well they do, but charge $1.25 for it and its one of those low quality pickles. It seems like they go buy there fixings at the Winco or something. I Couldn't stand all the teenage workers, trying to give me lip. Minimum wage truly does mean minimum effort.

I have eaten here once. I wound up with the worst food posioning in my life. I was in the hospital it was so bad. I am sure it was this food because everything else I ate for the day before and that day I cooked myself. And my SO did not get sick at the time. Not only did I get horrible food posioning, I only ate half the sandwhich because it was gross. There were no toppings, and the ones they did have were not evenly ratioed. The bread was good. But im pretty sure I had bad Mayo. There are a ton of sub shops...do not go here.

I can't say that my first visit to Jimmy John's was memorable. I chose the #7 Gourmet Smoked Ham Club. The bread was remarkably similar to Subway. I will admit that the meat, veggies and cheese were cold, crisp and fresh. There was just no... "wow" factor. I'll try it again. Meanwhile, I'll drive over to Monkey's Subs for a real treat.

There's a lot of sandwich competition in Beaverton. Somebody from Jimmy John's came by our office the other day with menus and a promise of fast delivery. We decided to try 'em out today. I phoned in our order and delivery was promised in 15 minutes. The sandwiches arrived when promised and the prices were very reasonable. Way, way better than most other sandwich chains, that's for sure. My "Vito", the JJ's version of an Italian sub, was packed full of meat and veg goodies. Tasted fresh. Don't know if we'll let a chain replace our local go-to sub joint, though. I'm big on supporting mom and pop places. In any case, the sandwiches were good, the prices were low and the delivery was fast. Pretty flawless lunch transaction. I was able to work right through lunch--mouse in one hand, sammy in the other.

I ordered a BLT online and it was ready for me when I walked in. Nice service. I ordered the BLT "unwich" style - without bread. It came wrapped in fresh, crunchy lettuce. It was delicious. I was surprised that they only had two types of bread: French or 7 grain wheat.

Can it get any better than this? I won't write a book- but the FRIENDLIEST people EVER.. for example the last time I called in, the gal said "Jimmy Johns, I love you!"... and all those guys/ gals hustling out the door...just to deliver a five dollar sandwich? THANK YOU! And these sandwiches are wayyyyyy better than the "S" place. Only once was I slightly miffed- somehow I ordered wrong? and got wheat (regular) sandwich bread instead of the french hoagie bread (but it was STILL DANK!) Oh, and by the way, prices are WAY reasonable, and for delivery too- tip these guys and keep coming back, because they deserve more business!

All the hype! Wow. FALSE ADVERTISING! So I made sure to order the Vito, and was excited because I could order bacon and avocados. AVOCADOS!!! The sandwich was delivered quickly, and after I had even paid extra for the goodies, I tipped well because the order came in reasonable time. So I opened up the sandwich, and there it was. Rather small, with crappy bread, and blah bacon. WHERE IS MY AVOCADO? I decided to taste test - surely the avocado is in there somewhere. Nope. So I'm out 10 bucks and all I have to show is some little, bland, overpriced, and overhyped sandwich. Afterwards, one of my friends agreed that he's "not a big fan" of Jimmy Johns, while another informed me that there probably was avocado on my sandwich, but in the form of a spread, and I just didn't taste it. WHAT? Last time I paid extra for "Avocado" I got huge chunks on my burger and it tasted awesome. So I left a comment on their website, and they responded as such: "We do not use avocados, but an avocado spread that we place either in between the wheels of cheese or meats. Our recipe calls for 1 tsp. of spread per wheel of cheese. If that is not enough you are welcome to order extra." Look again, and I quote from above "we do not use avocados". How can you Beaverton hipsters and yuppies get so easily swayed by a restaurant that is penny pinching like a chump and sacrificing quality. And how can I order extra when I already ordered extra? A spread? YUCK! Oh and they charge too much for extra pickles, whereas at other restaurants, they come free. Avoid this place. Avoid their lame, bland sandwiches. Their false advertising aside, their sandwiches and ingredients are just blegh! Ever see a fast food item look SO amazing on TV and in marketing photos but when you order something, it looks ridiculously lame? Yep, that's Jimmy Johns. Might as well go to Burger King - at least you'll save money. PUUUHHHHLEEEAAAAZZZEEE!!

I love this place! Sure beats Subway and the seeming-to-disappear Quiznos for sure! I always get the #9, Italian Nightclub, add hot peppers and Salt & Vinegar chips. I love it. Hubby always gets the #10, Hunters Club, add hot peppers. He loves it and he's a picky eater. Ingredients are fresh and real, not like all the processed crap at Subway. Only complaint about the place is that the music is too loud when dining in. But it only takes me 20 minutes to devour my sandwich and be on my way, so I can let that go.

This was my first time at Jimmy John's. I ordered a Beach Club which is basically a turkey avocado with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and cheese. I was really disappointed in seeing only two layers of thin turkey in my sandwich. Where's the meat? There was so much bread that I could barely taste any turkey. It was really mediocre. I will not return. I have learned by trial and error that The Beaverton Sub Shop is the best place to go to if you want a sandwich. They are not shy about piling on the meat and cheese there.

I had the Gargantuan and the Misses had the I.N.C. and honestly it was pretty good. We always eat(when we the sandwich thing ) subway or. Quiznos and while I wouldn't go as far saying it was better then either one of them but it was a very nice change from what we always do. The bread was awesome though you can tell it was fresh and I believe they make all of their sandwiches with French bread. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other sandwiches And recommend the you go and try it.

I first wrote this review on 7-25-12. More than a year later- now - I returned. The loud music, which was my original complaint, seems even louder. Had to leave. Jimmy Johns in Washington State don't play their music so loud, so the the stuff this location told me about the "corporate policy" seems to be baloney. I lowered my score from a 2 to a 1. Here is my original review: Good sandwiches, great BBQ potato chips (available at all Jimmy Johns), but why Why WHY is the music SO loud. I've asked different employees why it's so loud. Usually the answer is "I don't know," but once I was told it was "corporate policy.". Baloney. (Which, by the way, is not on the menu.) Additional note on 7-23-13: Patronized another Jimmy Johns in a different city, and the music was being played at a NORMAL level. The only other Jimmy Johns I've been to is at the corner of NE Broadway and ??? across from Safeway. Same story: good sandwiches, too-loud music. I'll try to write a separate review.

Have to give a thumbs down this time. Got a vito. Service was great and as fast as they claim. The sandwich though was lacking. The bread was not as fresh as usual and where's the meat. The meat and cheese combined was hardly there. It was a very light sandwich in a bad way. I'll still try other Jimmy johns but will avoid this one.

As you walk into the door you are immediately greeted by the employees. I ordered the number 9 which is the Italian Night Club (Genoa salami, capicola, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo & vinaigrette.) And don't forget the hot peppers, they'll run you 50 cents extra. The bread is always soft and very tasty. And the whole sandwich has a fresh taste about it. Not only that.. the sandwiches are made in less than a minute!! Its amazing how fast they make it. So what if it looks like a factory line! It gets the job done. If you're looking for a good sandwich at a decent price. Give Jimmy John's a shot.

Jimmy Johns is a pretty cool little sub shop. Being so used to Subway and Quiznos, it took a little to get used to. First, I don't think there is a bread selection. I think the choice is french bread, or french bread. But, the french bread is good...not good for you, but tasty. I wish they had a whole grain sub option. They have some interesting and tasty pre-designed sub sandwiches. I feel the flavor is far better than what is offered at Subway and Quiznos. The meat itself tastes fresher as do the veggies. I don't know what it it, but these subs at Jimmy Johns just taste a whole lot better than anything you're going to find at other sub chains. Jimmy Johns seems to pride itself on how fast they can put together your sandwich. One issue with this is the tendency for them to mess up your order. I recommend if ordering to go, check your order before you walk out the door.

I love a good sandwich! This place was pretty darn good. I ordered the Vito (Italian sub) and it was delicious. The meat was full of flavor and it was drizzled with just the right amount of dressing. Their bread is made fresh and does not overwhelm the sandwich. I loved their optional hot pickled peppers. TASTY! I will be back for sure to try their seven grain bread and their homemade tuna.

Best subs in PDX. Being from Seattle we were waiting for JJs. Finally a sub to enjoy.

While I agree with the 3 star people that the menu is a bit lacking and the food is "good" as opposed to "excellent" (I would not say "bland" but "good",) I am giving them 4 stars because I also agree with how impressive the fast service is. I got mine fast, but what really impressed me was I was eating my Big John and I saw a guy walk in and order. I glanced down at the menu I was reading and when I looked back up he was walking out the door, sandwich in hand. Another reviewer mentioned 45 seconds. This is not an exaggeration. And this was 11:30 today (Wed.) Some more people came in after I was leaving so that might have brought their average down to 47 - 53 seconds per order, but still... So I had the Big John (roast beef, mayo, lettuce and tomato (I also added cheese)) which was pretty good, but I wish I would have gone with a club (even though I wasn't that hungry) since the cheese by itself was $.85 extra. Next time I will. The French bread was great. Just like you'd get at a bakery, not that Sub Shack alien White Bread they inflate with CO2. I live in Tualatin, so the only reason I would likely go back to this location would be is if I were in the area. Hopefully they will build one here. If they did I would probably go 1 - 2 times/month because I would know I could go during half time of a game & be back in time for the second half. One other thing, they were super fast AND it looked like they were working hard on a lot of pretty big catering/delivery orders. I think there was around 6+ employees not including what I assume was the manager. Again, excellent service...

Where's the gourmet? I mean really... my dog can make better sandwiches. My boyfriend and I decided to give JJ's a try. We were very optimistic that we were going to experience a taste sensation...... judging by the name: "Gourmet Sandwiches". Apparently, we were a little too optimistic. We ordered roast beef and ham sandwiches. They were very plain and lacked quantity of ingredients. Also, the music was up wayyyyyy too loud. We couldn't hear the cashier and they couldn't hear us. (We are in our 30's and they are in their 20's - no hearing aids needed here yet). We asked for everything to be added to our sannys, wanted light mayo and add dijon; didn't happen. Why? BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T HEAR US! Ridiculous. Gourmet is a very long stretch of the imagination. Go elsewhere to find gourmet because you won't find it here. You'll only end up hard of hearing and hungry, wondering why you feel a void in your stomach when you just paid to put something in there.

I LOVE Jimmy John's! I love the fact that they deliver....even if you only want one sandwich! I love the "Vito"....the flavors just meld together. And, two times last week, they brought in samples to my work. What company does that? The sandwiches are simple yet have a lot of flavor, including the veggie. You can count on me as a loyal customer.

Number nine I love you! I went to JJ's to try a new place and I was hooked. I always add sprouts and it makes the sandwich pop. I've taken several friends and employee's here and they're smitten just the same. Glad your in Beaverton JJ's! The first time I went here the sandwich was finished and waiting for me before I had finished my transaction. I was blown away.

My first time there, I've never heard of this place before. The food was really good, I had the #7. Liked the potato chips too. Here are the issues I had - really only the first one is a big deal to me and the others are just things someone needs to do to make the place a little more customer friendly. - I asked for no tomato, heard the person say "#7 no tomato", but when I got it it had tomato's. Someone did apologize, which was nice, though it still bugged me. - Napkins are in ONE place - the cash register. No one handed me any at the register, when I got my sandwich no one handed me any. They could put some where you get the sandwich, and over by the soda machine. - I saw only one waste basket, and lots of empty plastic straw wrappers on the counter by the straws. How about adding a wastebasket next to the drinks? Overall it was good and I would go back, and recommend it to people. There are just a few little things they could do to make it nicer.

Heck ya, finally a REAL sandwich chain has come to town. I've had these delicious sandos during my travels to Chicago and Seattle. It's about time PDX landed a real sandwich chain. What's there to really complain about? The sandos are dirt cheap, they use fresh ingredients, the bread is delicious and baked in-house, and they're SUPER fast with making your food. I was staying at a hotel in Bellevue, WA and I called them up for a delivery order to my hotel. No joke, I received my sandwich literally 4 and half minutes after I hung up the phone. I love you Jimmy Johns. Can we get a location in downtown PDX?

We drove by and saw the grand opening sign. I've heard it was a popular joint in the Midwest, and I love me some sandwiches! I got the tuna original and the boy got the smoked ham. First of all, 8' of a sandwich seems huge! but fear not, we could easily polish off that, a bag of chips and a pop. The bread was really fresh, and perfect in flavor. The toppings were that of a typical sandwich place. We made no changed but next time we'll add a pickle and some of there house peppers. overall we left happy. The only con for me was the amount of employees, which made the joint SO loud.

I swear the order for my number #14, was done in seconds after saying no mayo. The place is kinda hip in a strip mall way. Color theme is red, black so my inner Blazer fan approves. But the sandwich was meh to me. For $10 I got a #14 with a big dry cookie and drink. It's served on a bland french bread hoagie, meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato. No options and I do love making a salad bar like sandwich. I would have rather bought $5 foot long all dressed up and ready for two.

Fast and simple! Try and get your drink poured before they are done making your sandwich. Not the most flavorful/savory sandwiches but still really hits the spot and are very fresh. I love the bread! It's very loud at this location so often I just get it to go or dine in VERY quickly. Lots great reading on the wall for wandering eyes. If you are really hungry, the Gargantuan is actually pretty darned tasty.

Pretty good for a chain, not the highest epitome of sandwich making, but a definite step up from Subway or the Quiz. Rows of Best Food Mayo and cans of Mermaid (Chicken of the Sea?) line the shelves above the workers. This isn't organic, but it is good. There's something slightly magical that happens between their provolone, mayo, and homemade bread. Put any other ingredient on the sandwich and it's pretty tasty. I fancy the Turkey on the "Tom" or the newly discovered Beach Club: Turkey, Cheese, cucumbers, add sprouts, tomato and avacado spread. Pretty tasty, and I like their Italian sando. I tend to stay away from the Ham and Roast Beast at places like this because it just seems more like balogne than anything else. Their very fast because they serve one type of product and do it very well. There's no options I know of for a hot turkey, which I always prefer over cold sandwiches. In that regard the hot sandwiches at The Sub Station just up the road can eek out a decision. Their advertised delivery is another issue: I live less than 2 miles away and have traveled their by bike in under 10 minutes, but they won't deliver to my door. It's a very tight window and if you don't live between Cedar hills and Canyon road, you're not getting a sandwich on wheels. Overall, pretty tasty food and a spot I come back to when I'm on the way home or step out for a bit. Great prices, pretty good ingredients, and a nice option from other chain sandwich slingers. Go ahead, grab a Jimmy :)

I have been there 3 times since they opened last week. I missed it so much since moving from Chicago five years ago. I am addicted to the freshness of this sandwich already. Can't wait for other locations to open around Portland. My faves are #2 w/ cheese #6 and #1 The type of bread they serve it on, really doesn't compare to anything in the area and I hear the day old bread is great for making Garlic Bread will have to try it.

Watch out Subway and Quiznos. If there is a JJ with 15 miles of my location and I am craving a sandwich I am going for a drive. I fist found JJ while traveling in Seattle and was very excited to see they have come to Portland. Each location I have been to has been extremely consistent in food quality, employees friendliness, and atmosphere. The biggest difference is the freshness of the ingredients. The meat and cheese is sliced on location and the veggies are actually crisp and flavorful. I don't know how many sandwiches I have had from 'other' sandwich shops that have had limp, flavorless veggies. One example most chains purchase pre-chopped lettuce, I believe JJ chops theirs on site; the difference is huge. I am not a vegetarian, but the Veggie sandwich is awesome here. I have seen a lot of people complain about the simplicity of their menu. I think that is a function of eating at Subways for too many years. The benefit of a set menu is that the sandwiches are GREAT without you having to pick each ingredient and they are VERY fast. A couple of final tips. Try adding their hot peppers to any sandwich. Also; their pickles are awesome and could feed a family of 4 (ok, maybe a bit of exaggeration, but they are HUGE)

This places menu is pathetic only a choice of mayo or dijion and I hate mayo! and dijion in definitely not one of my favorites. When i went there I asked for no mayo the worker put mayo on my bread I reminded her I asked for no mayo and asked for new bread she seemed overly annoyed by the request. I turned to my friend and asked if I was bitchy about it and he said I don't think you could have asked nicer. I'm really surprised by all the positive reviews, the sandwich was just alright. Maybe I'll have a better experience next time.... if there is a next time.

My husband and I love JJs. As for me I have been there like 5 times in a month. Its awesome. A few things to consider, they don't offer your order in a bag and don't give napkins. So ask if you need them. I love this place, its really a nice change from subway and quiznos. The Vito and the beach club are great! Check it out!

So I tried this place the other night, as I had heard it was fairly new in Beaverton, and a "gotta try" sub shop. To get right to the point, everything was "good". The bread is easily the best of any of the sub chains, the meats, cheeses and toppings seemed fresh, the prices were great (really great), and the service was fast and friendly. So why then did I only give it three stars? Because as "good" as everything was, nothing about this sandwich really "wow'd" me. It was just a good, cheap sub. Nothing more, nothing less. Certainly, it didn't live up to the hype I had heard. I was expecting a "blow me out of the water" great sub, and what a got was just a good, competent sub that wasn't anything particularly special. Nothing I would drive out of my way to buy, anyway. Basically, I think Johnny Johns is better than Subway, and about as good as Quiznos. Although if I had the choice between all three shops, I would go to Quiznos, mostly because Quiznos has hot subs too. (This is the only big failing of Johnny Johns...no hot subs.) If you haven't been to Johnny Johns, they are certainly worth trying. And I would encourage you to do so, because you might very well be more impressed than I was. After all, everyone has different tastes. But like I said, nothing about this place blew me away, or suggested that a rating of more than three stars is warranted. (In fact, if I was going strictly by Yelp's rating guide, I would say this shop rates a "Meh, I've had better"...which is Yelp's two star rating.) But, I reserve two star ratings for places that are actually bad. And Johnny Johns wasn't actually bad. Just nothing special.

I was first introduced to Jimmy Johns back in 2005 By my employer we had it catered for lunch one day. JJ is simply awesome. Great ingredients, great business model, groomed service. The vito comes close to an Italian hoagie from wawa, and if you understand that reference you will know: 1. You don't put mayo on Italian meats 2. It's up to you to construct a sandwich with the "wow" factor The bread is really excellent. The veggies are lively and fresh. The peppers are a bonus. And the meats are well_selected. If you want to get a hint of what you would get at an east coast Italian deli try the vito.

Hey, they're not joking when they say that it's freaking fast. It's that fast and more so for all of the people on here that are clowning the joint, I don't think that they're being too fair. The meats are decent quality unlike most places that serve processed garbage meat, and the product is good, the place is spotless (I've been there a bunch of times and I've NEVER not seen someone cleaning the eating area), the folks there are just plain friendly, and it's not over-priced. Who can turn up their nose at that?

Great sandwiches and super fast service. The sandwiches were ready before I paid for them! Everything was fresh. Much better than Subway! Plus the staff acts as though they actually enjoy working there! And like Joe K. said, "Don't forget the hot peppers". They add a lot to the taste of the sandwich. Well worth the drive from McMinnville!

Also...the pickles are AWESOME...and I've seen a barrel of pickles! ;o)

Always good, always fast. And best of all they allow my dog to lay quietly under the table outside while I eat. I go there often

  • Rebecca W.

  • Delilah K.

  • Chris S.

  • Neil W.

    (4)
  • Yee H.

  • Brant W.

Also; their pickles are awesome and could feed a family of 4 (ok, maybe a bit of exaggeration, but they are HUGE)

jimmy john's was just alright. it was a little expensive when i could have just gone to subway. you know i might actually like subway better. although you could customize the veggies that go on your sub, they might charge you extra here there when you could just go to subway and tell them what you want. also i didn't feel like the quality of jimmy john's was that much better than subway. i don't know. i won't be coming back here unless i get a gift card or something. not worth it, too expensive.

  • Liliana G.

this is basically a step up from subway. by that i mean the food is really good and cheap, but you aren't going to see anything i would refer to as "gourmet" on the menu. my fave is the #9 - italian night club. it's basically a good italian-style grinder. they also have your standard selection of tuna, turkey, ham, etc. and you can build your own sammich if you want. the big thing at jimmy john's is how fast they are. i didn't think it was possible to be faster than subway, but they are. usually they are done making my sandwich before i can pay the cashier and walk the 5 feet down the counter to pick it up. also, they deliver which is super rare out here in the burbs.

SLOW and INCOMPETENT! I waited for an order for an hour and a half and then had to call and cancel it. It turns out they tried to deliver it to a different address and then gave up. WTF? I'm certainly never going to try to get lunch here again. What a waste of time and money.
