Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for High Cholesterol

Keep your pizza intake to one slice to avoid high cholesterol intake while you dine at Pizza Hut. Skip Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice as it contains a high amount of fat and the sodium levels are also very high. Avoid the desserts section completely to limit the fat and sugar intake. Sweet Tomatoes was the original plan for a friends birthday, and he changed his mind to Izzy's. I sighed, but salad is salad. Or not. It had been years since I went to Izzys, and I didn't remember hating their pizza. Now, it doesn't even seem like pizza, its just seems like topped bread. I did try a bite of steak and fried fish that was decent (but the fish tasted like steak!). No one was particularly pleased with anything other than salad, and a couple desserts but I was too full to try those. (Not too full to have 2 Graprefruit cocktails when I got home though! Healthier right?) So I guess it depends. For $12.59 If you can eat 4 plates of food, or a couple pieces of steak, you're getting a huge deal. My one salad and 2 pieces of pizza was $8.99, so I guess that's about what I'd pay for a salad at most places. And you really can't mess up a salad bar. I just prefer to go somewhere with good food and have some leftovers for a comparable price. But again, if you have a crowd of kids and big eaters, it is a lot of bang for your buck. The service was really, really good, I'll give them that. He had 12 kids running around, and TONS of tables and was still very helpful and cheerful.

I don't expect a lot from inexpensive chain buffets, but this one really is horrid. I went for lunch and the only thing that looked slightly appealing was the pizza, and even that didn't look good. The "Mac and cheese" looked DISGUSTING - penne pasta with watery/oily orange-ish red-ish stuff they were trying to pass off as cheese. I had my two slices of tiny pizza and left (still hungry). I've been to other Izzy's and the food has been great. I will never come back to this one and I recommend others not to waste your money.

I've gone here for years with family. Pretty clean and has a nice variety of food from fried chicken, pizza bar, salad bar, desert bar plus they have different specials that's grilled right there to order such as; steak, battered fish, salmon etc. Good price for good food.

This location is terrible! During peak lunch hours they only put out 2 or 3 pizzas on the buffet table. I ways have to ask for. Pepperoni to be made for my young sons and thi takes them at least 15minutes. During dinner the guy at the grill gives you a rude pissed off attitude when you put your order in . It's like he's pissed that we are actually making work ( grill a simple steak ) for his pay. You can definitely tell this location is a corporate store , we've eaten at the Hillsboro location ( which is franchised)-'and the service , food quality and even atmosphere is completely different! We would rather drive from Beaverton to eat at the Hillsboro location ! Corporate needs to step up and do some major house cleaning .

Very little selection could be the slower part of the week but 3 pizzas to choose from at the bar along with choices of only a couple thighs and legs for chicken to pick from and the soup not great. Sorry to say I grew up loving izzys but lately especially this trip has changed my mind. Really going down hill!

We were visiting from out of state for some. Holiday shopping and a much need mini vacation for mu husband and I, after a very rough long year. After a day filled with shopping and the drive to Beaverton we ended up at Izzys Pizza. We hadn't been to a Izzys in many years so we were looking forward to it. The manager who also served on the floor was very gracious and kind but the food and cleanliness was a bit alarming. The guy cooking the steaks was not friendly in the least and the steak we had just weren't right, I knew it instantly, I kept trying to see if it was just me being sensitive or was a I really smelling the taste of meat about to turn. It was sour smelling Like meat that was on the veer or already bad but being disguised.. My hub often tells me I'm too picky. I worked in rests for years and I expect certain things like eating palatble and fresh enough to pass a food inspection. So I smothered it in sauce idk to make a point to my husband..and between that and the Pizza that was non existent as it was gone too fast or the sale that looked as it had been sitting there for the entire day and then some..there was no fried chicken fresh and no one wanted those last two pieces that sucked. We quickly got out of there I wasn't feeling good. We made a trip to Bridgeport Village and by the time we got back to the Marriott I was starting to experience sudden onset signs signs of food poisoning. We had our last evening planned to enjoy our time together and the holiday season and instead we were running around looking for Imodium PLUS and anything at all that may perform a miracle. I've been nauseous and "more" for the more than 24 hrs now.hours. We ended up ending our weekend away and taking me home which was an excruciating drive with my stomach in full force and the fatigue and nausea on top of it. The OTC meds didn't help. And here it is over 24 hrs later and I'm still sick. A simple trip to what we thought was the izzys if days gone by literally left me spending too much money with having to return home and buy meds and more to get me by! I intend to file a complaint once I figure out where in Oregon one does so, So here I am just days before Christmas shopping not finished lovely weekend Ruined. And I pray tomorrow will be better as tonight I feel like death warned over. Very disappointed Jamie

Terriblebly bland, old sitting food! If there's a food type to destroy, Izzy's will find a way to ruin it! Grill foods are stringy and very low quality. Winco sells better meat!

Love the pizza but the service is horrible. I've ordered to go pizza 4 times over the last 6 months. 3 of these times the pizza had clearly not been started when I arrived to pick it up- despite an empty oven. This time I had enough time to download the Yelp app and write this review. I would have stopped coming if I didn't love their pizza so much....

The manager seated us and was very friendly and gave us an introduction to how everything worked. The food is buffet style, at a decent price. The food was very good although it didn't have much variety for lunch. The buffet bar was clean and stocked. Our waitress didn't talk to us besides to drop off the check. Overall it was a good experience with good food. We will be back to try the dinner buffet.

One of the best Izzy's we have been to. The food was fantastic! Service is outstanding! Restaurant is clean! I would recommend to everyone! I personally love their sliced potatoes! That is my favorite. Good pizza variety. :-)

Izzy's was a good place to eat when I was a kid - their cinnamon roles were a highlight of my trips there. I was super excited to visit again; it's been years. I don't know if they've all changed, but it definitely wasn't the Izzy's of my childhood. I'll start with what I like: $5.99 for a lunch buffet is a pretty darn good deal, if you're on a mission for quantity over quality. It gets on my lunchtime rotation from time to time. Their salad bar is decent. Their pizza ranges from meh to good. They do usually have a variety of pizza options, and some are better than others. I usually pass on the rest of the hot food bar items, sticking with pizza, salad and dessert. What I don't like: there is no service, it's serve yourself. Even for beverages. It feel so cheap and impersonal. I think $1.99 for the self-service soda is way overpriced. Especially for the size of the cup. The food is just average, nothing special. And those legendary cinnamon rolls? They changed their recipe a few years back and they're nothing like they used to be - I asked. Dare I say it, they're not even good. Major bummer.

We went here for dinner today (Sunday) around 6 pm. There was little to no food on the hot bar or the pizza bar. It took 20 mins for them to get anything stocked. The floor was sticky when you walked your shoe tried to stick to it. I tried the soda (Sierra Mist) and it was carbonated water only. I mentioned it to them and they never fixed it while we were there. The steak from the grill (I did not have, my husband did) was tough with no flavor. My son ordered his and received the wrong toppings on it. Mushrooms. Allergic to mushrooms so that did not go over well. It might be priced decently, but it is not somewhere we will go back. The wait staff was nice, that is about the only thing nice I can about the place.

I like Izzy's, I would give it 3.5 stars but since I cannot, I will round down for now. This is not a place to go for atmosphere, it's a place with some decent hearty food. Let's start with the not so good and work our way up. They don't offer anymore the $5 one one plate once around. Many times I actually don't want to gorge myself, and considering I eat a lot of small meals throughout the day, I really don't get my money's worth doing my usual one trip at the usual rate. Thus it may force me to do more than 1 trip and my stomach does not like that, there is only so much room up in there! The other thing I do not like is that they do not offer pancakes, yet offer waffles. Anyone who knows anything knows that pancakes are FAR superior to waffles. Shute, I'd take a plain decent pancake with nothing on it before I take a waffle with all the trimmings, and this is coming from someone who LOVES real whip cream and strawberries. The L.O. location turned to a Shari's years ago, and I do not like venturing into Beaverton, it's not a good feeling, I avoid it as much as possible. Lastly, I also don't like that Sundays are dinner prices when I don't even take advantage of the extra brunch items. Time for the good! I went to Old Town Buffet once and every freaking thing tastes the same! I can't tell the difference between the meatballs and the potatoes, that's insane! It was like the twilight zone! At least here I can close my eyes and know what I am eating. Service is good, nice peeps, I'd rather tip them extra and tip a snobby waiter at a fancy restaurant less for giving me tude'! The salad bar is pretty standard, could have a few more unique items but it's fresh. The various chickens dishes are soft, juicy and tender. YUM. Some things don't have a lot of flavor like the mashed potatoes, perhaps it was powder mixed with water lol. The pizza is amazing though, both the thick crust cheese and thin crust pesto and artichoke. The local pizza places can learn a thing or two! Shute, they specialize in pizza, Izzy's should not be better. The deserts are pretty standard (pudding, mousse, brownies, bread pudding, average cookies) all stuff I like, but nothing really tasty though. They also offer fresh fruits, can't go wrong with the pineapple, melon and watermelon when their in season. Oh, and they do change it up by adding new items to the grill which is cool. The price is decent if you go during the daytime Monday through Saturday, plus you can use a $2 coupon and if you are a senior, extra savings! Yey, something to look forward to when aging lol.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the value of the food and the surprisingly quality of the food for a low-priced AYCE place. I mean its like $6-$7 for the AYCE lunch which includes soup, a salad bar, a variety of pizzas, pasta, bread, fried chicken, etc. You get your money's worth and more from this place. The salad bar was well stocked and good, the pizza's were crispy and delicious, and the fried chicken was so good. I like this place because everything is in small little portions so you really know that everything is fresh because theyre constantly restocking the buffet.

This is officially my last visit to Izzy's. From a nostalgia stand point this is sad, but nostalgia can only force me to spend my money for so long. As a kid, the entire family looked forward to Izzy's. I have likely eaten at every single one that existed in Oregon or Washington back in the late 80's/early 90's time frame as we drove to family reunions, visiting family, friends, Boy Scout functions, FBLA functions, school/band functions, and random car trips to somewhere that was not home. For whatever reason, I experienced a hiatus of visiting Izzy's at all for roughly a decade. This specific location was my reintroduction to the chain about seven years ago. Since then we've visited here roughly every three to four months, maybe a bit more during the summer heat when no one wants to cook. After factoring out child hood memories and approaching Izzy's from an adults point of view (I now understand what my father's grimace at the mere suggestion of stopping at Izzy's was really about,) there is little special to hold Izzy's as a destination. Unfortunately, that has only gotten worse. I don't know when the concept of tiered food prices based on what items you picked up off the buffet came in. But I accepted it, even though it was never really clearly denoted, especially when items from two different tiers are frequently and enticingly placed next to each other. I can accept intellectually charging extra for drinks. A $1.99 for soda is a bit steep, especially since most people only drink one or two of the small glasses that cost at most about $.25. But making it self serve, and then having it specifically pointed out by the wait staff as they seat you seems a bit underhanded to me, especially when they don't state that it is extra. And then the whole grill concept. I kind of like it, but I don't like being charged extra for a piece of steak that chews and tastes like a brick. But I accepted that. I even accept the fact that much of the desert bar was either old, or recycled and reused left overs from other deserts. Seriously, you really don't want to know how week old cookies and brownies make their way into other items. I've always accepted the fact that the food originated from cans for the most part. Then spent most of it's life in a bowl sitting on top of ice. And that grimy children (not to mention their only marginally less sanitary handlers,) frequently served them selves. I've even come to expect the spotty service, and the frequently near empty pizza bar covered with combinations that only one person in the entire world actually eats. No, the proverbial straw that has officially remove Izzy's off my list was the fact that the salad bar has shrunk drastically compared to my last visit only a few months ago. I understand that they need to cut corners to make money, but the fact that it's gotten noticeably worse in such a short amount of time is my cut off. Being the only buffet around with pizza is no longer a selling point to me. But what sent me spiraling into hatred was the fact that the mashed potatoes have obviously gone instant. Perhaps it's always been this way, but this was the first time I've ever pushed my plate away out of disgust due to the "potatoes." Nostalgia only gets Izzy's so far. Unfortunately, they've long ago spent that coin and have failed to keep impressing based on their own merits. Goodbye Izzy's, may your replacement be as long lived and successful as you were.

1 star because their lunch buffet is only 6.99 and dinner 8.99. Where they get you however is charging 1.99 for a drink which is now a 'serve yourself' area....which actually makes it kind of nice. 1 star because the only reason I come here is to eat their pizza. I'm not sure why I am fond of their pizza, but I do believe it's the chewy/doughy/buttery crust that reals me in. Other than that, their buffet is seriously lacking. No wonder it's so cheap. My family and I used to frequent Izzys as a kid and we loved it. However, quality has certainly gone downhill over the years. Salad bar - lettuce did not seem super fresh, they had 'fake' eggs, so-so topping choices. Overall it's just kinda MEH. I remember the one in Gresham being a lot bigger and better with tons of fruit and veggies. Hot items - Eww. Jo-jos were soggy, bbq chicken looked demolished and it was dry, green beans were never replenished, pasta looked old and dry, garlic mashers and baked beans were alright. Pizza - about the only item I can say I enjoyed. Overall I would not recommend coming here but it's OK if you are looking for a quick cheap bite I suppose.

The second star is for my son so don't go wetting yourself on this. Let me start by saying that Izzy's is the Corey Feldman of restaurants. Was probably good once or twice a veeeeeeeery long time ago, but now...when you hear the name your right eye twitches and you want to run and hide because no matter what they say, there will be no Goonies 2. Side note: I had a bag of Sesame donuts on me because my bf is sometimes a compulsive overeater (as well as me) that I took inside so the frosting wouldn't melt :) All I wanted was pizza. A girl knows. To my surprise, there is none. Not even cheese, the reject pizza of the world. I would have settled for cheese. I instead started out with a breadstick (which was actually pretty good) and some questionable fried chicken. Finally pizza came out and the three guys in line ahead of me decided to take half a pizza each, which left me with....no not cheese....pepperoni and a hawaiian (minus the pineapple, I think they forgot to add it to that piece) to deal with. Pizza wasn't bad. I find it odd that after the place clears out, 7 pizzas surface for the buffet. Crappy timing Izzy's. For some reason it seemed impossible to get refills on drinks so my son took it upon himself to take a run of the place and wander until he could find the lemonade he was drinking. Then proceeded to refill it himself in front of the manager. I was pretty proud of him for showing initiative. Don't ask me why I ate dessert when I had a perfectly good bag of donuts on me. I say that as though I hoard food. I don't. Really. I don't. Anyway, I would like to say I ate sponge cake but to be honest I'm not sure what I ate and I'm pretty sure that my colon will be having an atomic reaction to it later. Gross I know, but really, the reviews are here to save you sometimes. I wouldn't recommend this place to a mute with no taste buds.

Okay, so all the food here is OK at best. BUT, how could you say no to all-you-can-eat pizza? HOW? Don't come here expecting fancy service and a large selection of food. DO come here if you're hungry, love pizza, and wanna stuff your fucking face. It's AWESOME. Oh, they also have a salad bar.

Eh, its a buffet. Food is OK prices are OK, services is NEVER good. Nice people work there, but there are too few of them. The ONLY thing the servers are asked to do is seat people, get them drinks, clear dishes, and bring the check. Yesterday I had to get my own drink (I just went right into the employee beverage area since I couldn't find anybody), pile dishes on my table, and ask for the check. She did step in on the beverage thing eventually. I have three young boys though and they all had very full bellies after dinner was over... Food is pretty good really, good variety and tasty. Not fancy, but ok.

I went to the Beaverton Izzy's today because my roommate had seen the lunch buffet sign and since he had never been, my boyfriend and I took him there. This was about the fourth or fifth visit in the past 2 months and the second time introducing someone new. We got seated fairly quickly and the host asked us if we knew how the buffet worked. Since we had already been there we just said yes and would show our roommate how it worked. When we went to the grill, I noticed there were prices on the tickets and when asked at the grill if this was an extra cost or if it was included in our lunch she said no it is not extra, everything is included. Between the three of us we ordered several pieces of steak, 2 tacos and 2 orders of fish. When we went to go back to our seat, we found several people already sitting there even though we had been gone for only a few moments. We went and found someone to assist us in this and we were taken to another table. Our host came around several times, first to give us our tickets and then to ask if we had received our orders from the grill. He then came back several minutes later and started to write us out new tickets. He handed it to me and I looked at him and asked why we were getting this. He then said 'well you ordered steak, it costs more'. I let him know that we were told at the grill that there should have been no extra cost and he said yes there was. At this time my boyfriend came and sat back down and asked what was wrong and I showed him the ticket and he said the same thing I did. The host then started to show us on the menu where it showed the prices (we did not have a menu at our table, and since we had been there before, the menu on our first table was put to the side).A manager was requested and in agitated tone that he told us there were extra prices when he sat us. Again a manager was requested because even though it was on the menu (that we did not have) we DID inquire about these additional charges. At this point, we had been there approximately 45 minutes and the 2 orders of fish had still not arrived. The steak had just arrived about 10 minutes prior to that whereas the tacos came right away after we were seated. The manager came up with the fish and asked if everything was ok. I am fairly certain it was fluke that he came over and I do not think the host had yet asked him to stop at our table. He was told that no, everything was not ok as we were being charged for something that had we not got confirmation of it being included, we would have not ordered. He tried to explain that he has to charge that price because there is no way he can serve steak at a price of $5.99 and that there is nothing that can be done about it. We explained that we did ask at the grill because we would not have ordered from it if we knew and he had the nerve to tell his that her English was not that good so if she is nervous she will answer yes to everything. This is NOT an excuse for something! He then tried to tell us that since the tacos are 99 cents he can charge us the other things for the price as well. I said to him that this was acceptable until my boyfriend asked him if that would be just 99 cents extra or would that be for each item. We were then told it was for each item. If this was the case, we would then be charged above the $11.99 originally stated so that was not acceptable. The manager said no, he would not charge us more than the price, He then said he would charge each my boyfriend and roommate $9 flat and since I did not have that much, I could still have the $5.99 price. I feel that him being a manager, he should have charged us the price we thought we were getting since this was our first time lunch buffet, it would have been lesson learned and we would have known for the future. Instead, it will be a while before I go back there because I feel the whole situation was not handled well. Side note: the only place there was a price was on the ordering tickets. Not on the grill and I still didn't see it on the menu when the guy was holding it.

Thank You God for the bountiful harvest that is Izzy's! We love this place. You'd have to be seriously deranged to give this place anything less than 5 stars. The jojo potatoes & chicken alone are worth the price then add everything else and this place is like eating for free! Really like when they do Beef on the Grille too. Plus the ice cream machine makes this cool shrieking noise! Yay for Izzy's! Also, points for unlimited soda and brownies!

ehhh, after eating here I probably won't do buffets unless it's a fine dining place. There was plenty of food to select from but the quality was awful. The grill was ok. Last note -- The pizza was so fatty and oily! wow!

I love the consistency and the changes that Izzys has made to improve the buffet. My kids love coming here. Fresh salad bar. The only issue I have is the soups. They are usually runny and salty. Thinken up that chowder and make everyone happy ;)

I will say I fear salad bars because usually the food is nasty or has been sitting out for far too long. I was drug here with a group of friends though and wow, I was actually happy we came. They had a great variety of food that was very fresh and tasted great. I cannot imagine coming here on my own just because buffets are a waste on me since I just do not eat that much but their food is quite tasty.

This izzy's does it right. Clean, updated and decent food. Way better than any other Izzy's I've visited.

This was a solid three star place. First, the service was great. Full on 4 star service. The food, I have always loved Izzy's pizza. the crust is very different than most places. Everything else was standard. the usual salad bar, chicken, mashed taters. Nothing spectacular. We did get a waffle that was pretty good. Was it worth 12 bucks? probably not. Would I go back? yeah, probably.

$8.99 for lunch. Really? This restaurant offers so little buffet in their buffet that I would think $4 or $5 would be more appropriate. Also, their salad bar was very disappointing. The Caesar salad was floppy, not crisp; the tzahziki(sp?) salad was flavorless, as was the caribbean shrimp salad. The grilled vegetables were black and mushy. The lemon cookies tasted like old coconut. And, the chocolate lava cake didn't even have any chocolate lava! You don't mess with people's dessert! Besides the food, though, the wait staff were pretty on top of things and friendly and the place was clean. Still, I will not go back, not even for free food. My husband hasn't gone in years because he always feels sick after, but I let myself be tempted by a coupon. What a fool I have been!

Meh. The folks at the office told me this place wasn't very good, but did I listen? NOOOOOOO! I'm the kind of putz who has to learn everything the hard way. The pizza is certainly nothing to shout about. Yeah, it's all you can eat, but I really didn't want to eat very much of it. Izzy's did make me nostalgic for the old Shakey's buffet I remember from my youth. I could eat a TON of that delicious Shakey's pizza and those mojo potatoes. Sigh. Memories. Anyway, can't say I'll ever go out of my way to visit Izzy's again.

Blegh! I hadn't been here before, but it looked cool on the outside, so I signed up for the online newsletter. They sent a bogo coupon for hub's birthday, so we went for dinner last weekend. I'm really, really glad we had a coupon, because I would have been quite upset to pay full price. $11.99 for dinner is far too much for such a tiny buffet. The hot line looked gross, so I stuck with the salad bar. I had a big plate of greens, and that was it. Hub had some of the hot line, plus some fish from the grill. He wasn't impressed. We won't be back. Give me Sweet Tomatoes any day!

Just copying over my review from the Hillsboro location. I went to both locations over the last two weeks and had roughly the same experience. I do prefer the Beaverton location to the Hillsboro one since the remodel is looking very nice. We came back to find that many things had changed with the store since we were there last. The interior has been remodeled and a giant grill has been installed in the store with a chef running it. We were able to check off some food choices like Pork Kabobs, Teriyaki Chicken, or Steak and the chef went right to work. After we ordered they brought it to our table. The steak was amazing; above and beyond what you would expect from an $11 buffet. There's also a lot of other new dishes like lemon chicken with rice, fried potatoes, grilled veggies, and the bread sticks got an upgrade. I'm not sure what brought about the big change, but it's definitely a welcome one. If you haven't been to Izzy's in the last couple months I would recommend you give them a second chance.

Wow, this place....just...sucks. I used to be a huge fan of Izzy's back in the late 80's, early 90's, but this place has just gone downhill fast. It used to be you could go to Izzy's get an awesome meal, but the food selection and quality have just plummeted off a cliff! What the hell happened? The food was just awful. I don't know how else to describe it without going into a total diatribe, but everything tasted like they had cut every corner they possibly could in order to maximize profits. Remember their awesome cinnamon rolls and chicken? Well they're just a memory now. This is one of those places that needs a Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares makeover. I will not be going back.

Izzys has definitely gotten better since the last time I was there. Better quality and section. One piece of chicken was a little dry, but when I went for my second piece that one was much juicier. The veggies were great and tasty. Even tho I didn't have dessert I noticed a better selection and the I've cream which I did taste was much better. Not like frozen milk like in the past.

I used to like Izzy's when I was just out of college, had no palette, was new to the Portland area, ate like ^&#@, and had no money. But alas, Izzy's has stayed the same while my palette, restaurant repertoire, diet and financial situation have all improved (except for the last... here's a hint: don't get divorced). I recently went back to Izzy's with my 4 year old son, who I thought would at least enjoy the pizza. His first comment: "Dad, this isn't nice like Sweet Tomatoes..." An apt assessment. There's nothing you can get at Izzy's that you can't get elsewhere, better and likely cheaper. Pizza buffets are all over the place (or just go to Pizza Shmizza and share two slices each... voila, instant buffet!). Sweet Tomatoes is - for what it is - an incredible value, delicious, and quite healthy. And if you're TRULY craving a buffet chicken experience, there's a KFC somewhere in the far east side that still does a buffet I think. The bottom line is that the food is pretty bad and there's a lot of it. And as the cast of "The Office" said when asked "Would you want a whole lot of mediocre pizza or a moderate amount of really good pizza?" there's not a lot of point in gorging yourself on bad food anyway.

I crave Izzy's about once a month. We used to go as a kid and I have fond memories, yet every time I go these days I'm disappointed. It's really not good. It's over priced, the food is bland and the service leaves something to be desired. You can go to Izzy's and just order a pizza, but no one really does that. It's mostly known for being a buffet. As a concept, it's a decent one. Serve a pizza buffet, compliment it with a salad bar, then go ahead and add a bar of chicken, ribs, salmon, potatoes, bread sticks and baked beans. Yet, the pizza isn't that good and the flavors are always rotating so you might not get what you want. The salad bar is okay and the other food is pretty boring. Usually it's tasteless, dry or just screams "I came out of a huge industrial can." Once again, regular buffet style soft serve ice cream is offered as a dessert. Skip it and go for the cinnamon rolls if you can grab one while they're still hot. That is something Izzy's does pretty well. Yet, if they've been out for awhile they'll be cold and hard as a rock on the bottom. To top it off, you'll end up paying around $11 for your all you can eat buffet, when you probably didn't eat much and you're probably still hungry.

When I had dinner there it was pretty fresh and tasty. Freshly made food kept on flowing out which made it good. But when I had lunch everything except the pizza was not as fresh. I'd like this place a lot better if things came out cook to order. Not reheating food that's already been made. I maybe would come back for dinner but for the lunch time I might not.

It's a buffet. The pizza wasn't too great. All the meat-ish dishes were really dry. The salad bar was pretty sparse. The service was pretty decent. The guys working are pretty responsive but that's about it. We didn't pay so can't say if it was a good bargain or not.

damn those buffets! You can choose to have salad bar only, pizza and salad, or the classic (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac n' cheese etc) plus pizza and salad bar or something like that. well whatever it is, all three bars are for less than $10 without a drink. oh yeah and dessert is always free, or something like that. we come here when i want to be a healthy fatass, meaning i can have salad with my pizza and fried chicken, hell yeah. it's more rare that we ever go here, cuzz i hate turning dinner time an eating competition.

OK...if you haven't been to Izzy's lately... you haven't been to Izzy's Fresh Grill and Buffet! With the FRESH GRILL just added this summer, and the whole restaurant remodeled, you really owe it to yourself to try out the Beaverton location, with they're new FRESH GRILL! Seriously, while Izzy's still has the Buffet selections - the Salad Bar, the Pizza Bar (great pizza!) and the Dessert Bar- they have their new FRESH GRILL with made-to-grill entree's like St. Louis Ribs, Salmon, Pork Kebobs, and to die-for Steak, and often grill-roasted vegetables. These entree's change monthly, but have yet to fail us. I've been to Hometown Buffet, but it's always the same ole', same ole'. With Izzy's FRESH GRILL addition, I'm hooked. Also, Izzy's has some excellent, money-saving coupons on Beaverton SuddenValues - beaverton.suddenvalues.c… - now we can go to Izzy's and save some cash too! We're fans of Izzy's!

If there was a 0 it would get it. Izzy's is by far one of the worst buffet restaraunts ever created. I used to think that there's no way a pizza could be disgusting, well I was wrong. Izzy's epitomizes the worst tasting pizza. The only worthwhile thing to eat there is the salad, but isn't it supposed to be that you go for the pizza. Well it's absolutely incredible that Izzy's hasn't gone out of business or bankrupt.

Nice variety, friendly staff. I was taken here for their recent Mother's Day breakfast buffet. Being a southern gal, I really like me some biscuits n gravy and they had it and it was great. They also gave me an "eat free on next visit" voucher for coming in on Mother's Day. Their cookies are always moist and good.
