Annie's was once a Roakes burger joint and the menu is similar but the care they put into their food is definately the difference. When Annie serves their burgers, they look the way that all of the chain joints try to imply in their advertising pictures that theirs will be served. Not only are Annie's burgers great looking but taste even better than they look!! Add a generous helping of fresh cut fries and you have an awsome meal. I often drive 17 miles past over 40 other fast food places just to eat here. Try it out when you want the real thing.

My husband grew up in this area, and made this one of our definite stops. I got the little farmer john burger. Really good, but maybe more of a breakfast burger. It wasn't greasy like other burger joints. Hands down best fries ever. Not too salty, they didn't taste of deep frying oil. Their shakes and malts aren't too shabby either.

Love the burgers and fries but after having a Coney I won't order one again. That is not a coney sauce they are using or if it is it's very different from a true coney sauce. Love the burgers and people though

The wife and I drive by Annie's all the time and finally decided to stop in with the expectation that the food would be either, the best burger ever, or the worst crap on the planet. Luckily, it was the first. The mushroom swiss burger was, as Guy Fieri says, Money! Fresh mushrooms and liquidy melted swiss made it stand out. The classic double with cheese was damn fine too. This place makes a solid diner style burger and we will be going back to get more. I also picked up a shorty (5") coney dog. It's hard to go wrong with a hot dog topped with yellow mustard, fresh white onion, and meaty coney sauce. Eating this made me wish I had been a full on fat kid and ordered the full size coney dog instead! So if this place is so good, why did I only give it 4 out of 5 stars? Well, the fries fell a bit short. We picked up an order of the chili cheese fries, and they left something to be designed. Next time, it will be onion rings for sure. They weren't bad, just not good. I ate them still. All of them. Now excuse me while I go lay on the couch and die a little, OMG SO FULL.

You're here because you needed a non-chain burger on TV highway. Good thing they have it! The while thing is diner dive in pre-hipster irony amber. Moral: eat something here before someone discovers it. You can brag that you slid into this bench seat and ate an old school burger or hotdog long before the fixie masses trek out here in homage. You think I'm dreaming. I think you've not had The Milkshake.

I enjoy supporting local businesses so I was delighted to walk into Annie's. I found the dinner service to be supported by a cashier and one short order cook. There was a fair amount of people in the dining room and the atmosphere was homey. I ordered a chocolate shake and hot dog and both were very delicious and tasted homemade. The service took a little while however I understand that because there was only 2 staff. Overall I would recommend this local small business.

I have coming here off and on since I was 5ish so 30+ years. It has had a few changes but so have the times! I still love to come in for a longconey and a little john. It now also has become a new family tradition for us and our 2 girls!

The secret to crisp French fries at Annie's is to request that they be cooked that way. It was easy...all I said is I'd gotten undercooked fries last time-please cook the order longer! en voila! there ya are!!!! I also noted that they weren't salted. A plus in my opinion as so many fast food joints over-salt their fries I ordered a long coney dog, sauce on the, side so I could get it home without losing that wonderful coney sauce to the wax paper. Topped with fresh chopped onions and with a nice thick chocolate malt. For 8 bucks and change it was a tasty dinner. Not as good as Roakes it's much closer to Beaverton. If you LOVE coney dogs, you HAVE to try Roakes on Columbia Blvd near 33rd. Back to Annies-as has been mentioned, it is a sort of grungy place. They do try..theres a stack of dated doctors office type magazines at the front counter. However the floor is dirty-not just muddy from the recent rain..it really looks like it's not cleaned nightly after the place closes. For me as a former burger joint waitress, part of closing is Hy-Con-ing the tables and seats, filling the catsup and salt and pepper containers and mopping the floor. I think Annie's is a family business and it may be that, after working all day,no one wants to clean up at night. Leaves the place looking slightly like an unloved place though. I hope the owners/managers take note of all these comments because the food is pretty good! I'd bet it could get a following if they 1) lengthened the cooking time for every batch of fries AND let them drain longer so they aren't so greasy and 2) cleaning the place up nightly. As a local, I'm with ya guys..I want a family place to succeed and want to WANT to come back here! Clean 'er up guys!!!!

The burgers are really good here. However, the fries are often a soggy mess. They are pretty good when properly cooked, but Annie's often serves them undercooked. This place would rate much, much higher with careful attention to the fries. There are VERY few decent burgers in Hillsboro/Aloha. This place would be tops with some consistency.

more like zero stars. The place is in a run down, tiny building with very little parking. Inside, they try to mimic the 1950s, but fail miserably. Tables needing wiping, floors needing sweeping There was also a dead spider on one of the menus. But iI ate here none the less, just to see if the good reviews lived up. Sadly they do not. The burgers here were very bland and had zero flavor The fries were extremely greasy and very soggy to the point of being uneatable. It was like eating a tub of crisco. I still have the slight taste of grease on my lips. The only good thing about the burger was the toasted bun and the crisp lettuce but it did not make up for the rest of the food. To top it off, the guy at the register had a hard time understanding what I wanted, a cheese burger combo that susposto come with fries and a drink. and despite ordering a combo, I did not get my drink. I asked and he said I did not order a combo, and that I would have to pay for my drink. From poor service to very bland and crappy food. I highly suggest you go elsewhere. I won't be back.

I went back recently and I had to bump up my rating. I love the burgers here. I had the chicken burger last time and it was delicious. It was between that or a Little John Burger cause who doesn't like bacon, a fried egg, and ham on their burger. I do. Fries are always good and I've never been disappointed with that. I also like the piles of old magazines on the counter. Sometimes get to browsing and before I know it, my food is ready.

Bombest burgers in Beaverton! Coney sauce is on point everything's delicious! Milkshakes are just as good, loved the old fashioned vibe

I like this little place. I had a hotdog from here once, with relish and mustard. I think they were disappointed I skipped the chili and cheese and onions and other offerings, but I'm a purist. I also had a gardenburger with cheese and french fries. The fries were not my favorite but the gardenburger was perfect. ( I know, but trust me on this, people can mess them up!) We've had milkshakes too, vanilla and chocolate and peanut butter and some other flavors... they have a nice selection. They are good. It's worth a stop and better than say, one of those big chain places.

Tried Annie's after seeing the great Yelp reviews and was very disappointed. The burgers were okay. The fries were soggy and greasy; I tried one and threw the rest out. The shakes were good but did not make up for the rest of the experience.

Not the most refined establishment, but if your Jones'n for a Chiliburger (ala L.A. style) this is about as close as yer gunna git here in PDX!! I am NOT talking "Hamburgers" here. Go to Dick's Kitchen for THAT! I am talking chili sauce running to your elbows messy, crazy good.... The patty is hand formed, probably chuck, delivered hot enough to singe your lips, and close enough to what you came looking for that you can close your eyes and chew-man-chew.... I get pickles added to the usual "Coney Burger" which with the onions, tomato, and mustard works the trick and seals the deal.... Add some gunfire out in the parking lot and people trying to steal your stereo and you could feel like you were in L.A. The counter kid was friendly and willing to laugh, so I'll be Bach.....

Awesome burger!! they grill the buns and season the beef patty with something delicious! I've been here three times in the past two weeks and have not tasted disappointing flavors. My favorite is the farmers burger that is huge in diameter and has an egg of all things on it. Very tasty although it doesn't sound like it. The place is a small hole in the wall with old photos of movie stars on the walls.

I've driven by this place a million times and finally stopped in for lunch the other day. The outside looks like it's run down and falling apart. The inside looks even worse. Dirty-my kind of diner. Only two items on the menu, burgers and hot dogs, served many different ways. I went for the standard burger, fries and a pop. Fries were soggy and limp with no seasoning. Very unappetizing. Burger was actually pretty delicious. Yummy burger sauce. This is exactly what I'm looking for in a diner burger. I contemplated giving this place 2 stars, however... Later in the day, when I removed the lid from my pop to pour it out, there was a bunch of black stuff floating in the cup. Fucking gross. This tells me that either the cup was dirty, or more likely, the soda fountain lines (or perhaps the ice machine) was broken, filthy, contaminated, etc. Bottom line. DIRTY DINING ALERT! This place is nasty. The exterior and interior are not well maintained, and judging by my drink, the BOH is unclean. While the burger tasted good, I don't trust that these owners give a hoot about cleanliness, and that lackadaisical approach to the building probably extends into the kitchen/food prep area. Eww.

Great burgers, lots of fresh cut fries, and nice owners that deserve your business. Old doesn't mean dirty - they are always cleaning when not cooking or taking orders.

This a solid mom and pop's diner. I was craving a burger and did not feel like the regular fast food pit stops. Having passed by this place numerous times I thought I'd give it a try. The service was on point and extremely friendly. I ordered the cheese burger with chili and a small order of french fries. As I waited for my food, I noticed a steady number of people walking through the door and making their order. Almost everyone were regulars. Just by that observation alone I knew this place was probably legit. I mean it has to be good if people keep on coming back right? Over all burger hit the spot. The patty wasn' too big but wasn't small either. The chili was a good topper, no beans just meat. Just the way I like it. For a small order, the fries were a good serving. Skin on and thinly cut, crispy and oily. NOM NOM. I'm a fan of Annie's and will probably come back and give it another whirl when I'm in the burger mood.

Read about this place on the Portland burger blog. Didn't feel like cooking tonight so we gave it a try. If you're craving a good burger or hotdog this place has got it. They have burgers with an egg on top if that is your preference. They also have Coney island sauce (which is kind of a smoky meaty chili sans beans) that they serve on fries or hotdogs. The chocolate milkshake was like a thick frosty. The hubster took 1 bite of my shake had to get the peanut butter one. They have several shake flavors such as root beer, blackberry, strawberry, carmel, mocha, and vanilla. My hotdog with Coney island sauce and mustard was pretty good. The waitress was really nice. This place would be about perfect if they put in a jukebox.

Sometimes good other times not so good. This place is streaky. I use to come out here at least every other week for a long sausage with Coney sauce. The fries were always outstanding with skins on. But the last few times it has been extra greasy and the fries have been way undercooked and not very good.

We love Annie's! It is our go to place for tasty burgers and fries. The staff is very friendly, the prices are low and the food is awesome!

A very good burger and a large helping of fries. I also got a peanut butter malt shake it was so thick i needed a spoon to eat it. The way a milkshake and malt should be made. If you want a mom and pop feel this is the place. It also has the nice old diner feel as well.

don't know how I've driven by this place so many times without noticing it, but I definitely won't miss it anymore when I'm craving a burger. went here with my husband last week to satisfy a burger craving. we weren't in the mood for five guys, but it's the same order at the counter then find a seat vibe... but with a diner motif. I ordered a deluxe burger w/o the mayo special sauce (but with a small coney sauce on the side since I was intrigued by the rave reviews of other yelpers) and my husband ordered a coney dog (basically the coney sauce on his hot dog). we also shared a large order of fries. the burger was a thin patty and cooked to order. REALLY good! my hubby enjoyed his hot dog as well. the highlight for me were the fries. they were really good. the coney sauce I probably could have lived without. it's basically a thick chili w/o the beans. I thought it was pretty flavorless. also... since we just had water (neither of us were in a soda/milkshake mood) our total bill was under $10!! will definitely be heading back here the next time I have a burger craving.

The location of this burger place is actually 18805 SW Tualatin Valley Hwy just east of Cooper Mountain Grill. I ordered the chicken sandwich and homemade fries. The sandwich was made with a chicken breast cooked to perfection (moist inside and not dry) and no I don't own stock in the business or watch iron chef. They use mayo for the sauce and a hamburger style bun that is not too bad and it was topped with lettuce. The homemade fries were the the string type and were not over cooked or dry. I thought the food was good and for the reasonable price of $3.50 for the chicken breast sandwich, I will go back.

Simple, diner-style restaurant. Dirty inside (walls, windows) but ok table and seats. Cashier was friendly, food was great. Old fashioned, hamburger and fries joint. Would return!

Just placed a pick up order from Annie's and my mouth is already watering. We've been going here since before, and now after, the Red Wok days. (tho' we do miss the Red Wok) I'm glad it's back in the original location as I enjoy the "ambience". Especially now that the seats no longer sag! Grab yourself a Little John and a Peanut Butter & Chocolate Malted, sit yourself down, and be in hamburger heaven for just a little bit.

I've lived down the street from this place fir years and never really noticed it. I happened to stop by the other day, and I will definitely be back! Great menu items, the food is decent, and the atmosphere is amazing! Friendliest employees in town, and it makes all the difference.

I gave blood earlier today and thought it was a great excuse to treat myself to a cheeseburger. I've been here once before quite a few years ago with coworkers but don't remember anything about it so I figured I would give it a shot. Pretty empty at lunch on a Friday afternoon, maybe 3 others in there. It took a while for someone to come take my order, I think they were in the back and didn't realize there was a customer. Ok - not a big deal, I was still checking out the menu. I settled on the deluxe burger combo (fries and small drink) for $5.45. Burger was nothing special and I guess they were confused when I asked for no ketchup but mustard on the burger and it came out with no lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. Thankfully the cheese was there and I was starving so I just dug in. And well it was not great. The seasoning on the burger seemed a bit off, tasted like steak seasoning or maybe some soy/worchestershire sauce, not sure. The fries were shoestring style but mostly limp and squishy with not much crispyness on the outside. Service was ok, place seemed clean but it wasn't quite the burger I'd been hoping for.

Great Service, even better burgers! Go for the Wimpy Burger, and fries. Be sure to get a side of Coney Sauce, it goes great with your fries and burger. I'm getting hungry just writing this review! They have a variety of fancy burgers, but if you like a good ol' fashioned burger go here and get the Wimpy!

Pluses: This is one of the only places I know of around the west side that you can get a real coney dog (long skinny wiener with a "snap" to the casing, tasty coney sauce with mustard on top). Burgers are usually solid. Minuses: Fries are hit-or-miss (often tending to the greasy side). I don't think I've ever been there when I didn't have a sticky table. The place has been in the neighborhood since the mid 80's (formerly Roake's), and it's getting a bit run down. Overall, a good choice for a quick family lunch or dinner. It's not fancy, but when you've got a hankering for a coney dog, it's the best! If I could give Annie's a 3.5, I would- it'd be a 4 if I'd ever had a clean table, because the food's usually a win.
